Friendship Blooms

Good Morning! Hope your Sunday is starting off a lot sunnier than mine is! I do have to say that I am ready for the spring! But it will come soon enough.

Today I am sharing a card that I made at my friend Emily's house. After looking at several layouts I really liked I think that I sorta combined them all into one layout and this is what came out! I really do like it, though.

This card uses a set from the Sale-A-Bration mini catalog. Sale-A-Bration starts February 1 and runs through March 17. Sale-A-Bration is a great time to order, have a workshop, or become a demonstrator! All of the sets in the SAB mini catalog cannot be purchased but earned by doing any of those things! For every $50 (before shipping) that you purchase, you get to choose a set for FREE! By being a hostess with a workshop of $300 you get to choose one for FREE in addition to all of the other hostess benefits! And by becoming a demonstrator, you get to choose one for FREE and then have an opportunity to earn more sets for FREE by selling and recruiting others! It's one of the busiest times of the year for Stampin' Up! So don't miss out because when time runs out these sets will no longer be available from Stampin' Up!

One of a Kind

Hello All! I am so sorry that it has been a whole week! I really did mean to get back to posting on a regular basis. And, for a while I did o.k. I am not even sure what happened to last week!! I did get to play at my friend, Emily's house and came up with a card. No, it's not this one. I will show you that one tomorrow (I hope).

Today's card is not one of my favorites. It's not bad but, well, I don't know. I will let you all make the call. I do love the layout, which I happened to pick up from a card that my friend, Becky, had done in card class. I will just have to keep playing! Such a terrible thing!

This card uses a new stamp set called One of a Kind. The flowers and saying are all part of the set. For the big flower I stamped it in Purely Pomegranate and then cut it out. I colored in the outside white part with Pretty in Pink. Then I stamped another small image from the set and punched it out with my 1/2" circle punch (I stamped it on Pretty in Pink cardstock). I glued it onto a Build-A-Brad and then put the self-adhesive "bubble" on top. The Build-A-Brads are too much fun! The big flower is popped up with dimensionals. The other two flowers are stamped with Purely Pomegranate on Pretty in Pink cardstock. I used the new boho flower punch to punch them out! No cutting there!! Then I finished it all off with a little sponging and some ribbon! I hope you all have a great weekend!

Exotic!

BRRRR!!! I do hope that you all are keeping much warmer than I am! It is nice by the fire but then I thought that I better come down to my room and get a post out. So, here I am - typing with frozen fingers! I will hurry through this one to get back to the fire!

This card layout was inspired by my great friend, Becky! This was a layout that we did at our last card class. And I just love it! You could do so many wonderful things with this layout! I chose to use my new Stitched Exotics set and new Ginger Blossom paper. Nothing to out of the ordinary on this card but it did turn out cute! I will be using this for a swap that I am in. This card is pretty easy to put together. The most tedious thing is cutting out the flower. Hope you all find great things to do with this layout! Have a great and warm weekend!

P.S. I will not be posting again until probably Monday. I am leaving for the weekend! I am having a fun "girls" weekend in Ouray!!! I am so looking forward to it! Take care and enjoy!

Embrace Life

Happy Birthday to Me!! Yes, it is my birthday and I am posting one of my favorite new cards. It has been a great day and my students were just wonderful! Then my family took me out to one of my favorite places and now we are enjoying a quiet evening by the fire. Man it's cold outside!!!

Like I said, this is one of my favorite new cards. My friend, Becky, did a card similar to this in her card class. She said that she got the idea from a class she was at from another friend, Roni. Roni used the Embrace Life set and the same colors and layout. I tweaked it just a bit and this is what I came up with. I actually made this card for a swap I am in. I hope they like it just as much as I do. I will also be doing this card for my stamp club next month. Enjoy!

Boho Bliss

Good Day All! I hope that your day was just fabulous! I don't know what time this post will say that I did it but I am actually finishing this post up right before I am off to bed! I started it before I left for school but didn't get time to finish.

Here is a card that I made by using a layout from my friend, Becky's card class. I really like the layout and thought it would be great to use with a new set! So, here is what I came up with.

The new designer series paper that I used is called Berry Bliss and coordinates wonderfully with Chocolate Chip, Pretty In Pink and Purely Pomegranate. The medallion is from the new Boho Backgrounds set and I stamped it once in Purely Pomegranate and once in Chocolate Chip. I punched the pomegranate out with the scallop punch and the chocolate out with the circle punch and then layered them together and put a brad in the middle! Using my corner rounder with the guides taken off, I made a scallop on the pink and then tied a piece of the pink taffeta ribbon on for the final touch! Enjoy!!

Joy

Hello Everyone! I have time (I think) before I am off to school to post this. So, I am going to hurry just a little. Please excuse any spelling mistakes! Thank you!

This was actually a possible Christmas card last year. I was playing around and came up with this (with the help of a card from the Cards Magazine). I really liked the way it turned out and could definitely be used for other occasions as well! I am anxious to try this layout with some of my NEW stamps! So be looking for that!

Nothing too special on this card. I do want to point out that the "joy" on this card is not a Stampin' Up! stamp *gasp*. I used one of my friend's stamps (thanks, Becky). I wanted something small in that corner and that really fit the bill! Happy Monday!

Celebrate... Everything!

Happy Sunday everyone! I am so excited! I have been stamping today and I have a stack of NEW samples to show you!! I have entered a few mail swaps so I needed to get stamping so that I would have some to mail off! Anyway, it has felt really good to get some stamping done. The reason I was able to get so many cards done was because I copied a lot of these layouts from cards that I have done in card class! Thanks, Becky!! I did pull out cards from a while back so hopefully card class people won't recognize them to easily!

This card is very simple and pretty basic but it uses one of my new most favorite lines of designer paper - Western Sky! I have fallen head over heels in love with this new designer paper! It's coordinating colors are Soft Sky, Blue Bayou, River Rock and Ruby Red. I am going to have to stop myself from "hoarding" this paper! I don't know if I have told you how to make the scallops or not. I took the guide off of my corner rounder so I could stick my cardstock straight in. I like to start in the middle and punch. The corner rounder will punch out a "smile". Then you slide the corner rounder to the right and line up the left top part of the punch with the right top part of the punched out "smile" on the paper and punch again. Go all the way to the edge. Then I flip my paper over and do the other side. I do it this way because it's easier for me to go to the right. If you still don't understand, I will try to find a video tutorial for you to watch. It will make much more sense then! Celebrate today!!

True Friend

Happy Snow Day Everyone! It snowed ALL day here! WOW! The main roads weren't too bad but the roads by my house were completely snow packed! No, we didn't get out of school or anything like that (I don't think that we would ever get out of school for snow). But it made for a different kind of day and it was nice to look out the window every now and then and see the flakes falling.

My card today is one that I did at a workshop back when the mini catalog was out, probably in October. I really like how simple this card is to do! The flower image is all on one stamp so I used my Really Rust marker to ink up the flower part and then the Wild Wasabi pad (because it doesn't come in a marker) to ink up the stem. Another thing I want to point out is that the Chocolate wide grosgrain does not go all the way around the card. What I did was take my 1/4" hole punch and punched a hole at one end (where the knot is on my card). Then I took one end of the ribbon through the hole and attach it to the back of the River Rock piece with tape or a glue dot and did the same with the other end of the ribbon to the edge of the card. Then I took a piece of ribbon and tied a knot right over the hole! I was thrilled to discover this little technique of tying my ribbon that I have used it a lot! I hope you find it just as fun!! Enjoy!

So Kind...

Hello All! Well, it was back to school today. And it was really nice! I really enjoyed my day! I am very tired right now but I am glad to be into the swing of things! I hope that your Tuesday went just as well!

My card for today is one that I have done at workshops recently. It uses one of my favorite sets, Priceless. I just love the swirls! Lots of new sets in the new catalog also have swirls. And, none of them happen to be the same! I don't know if you can tell or not, but the butterfly wings happen to be sticking up. I went ahead and stamped the butterfly on the white pane. Then I stamped the butterfly on another piece of white cardstock and then cut it out. No, I did not bother to cut out the antenna! Then I just put a little bit of adhesive on the body of the butterfly and stuck it down. This left the wings free to be able to fold up slightly! I also love this color combination! Wouldn't this card also look great with some glitter?! Enjoy your week!

Snow Flurries

Hello All! Well, it's Monday and it's back to work! While I didn't have school today (it was a work day) I still went in to get myself reacquainted with the whole idea. It's not that I don't want to go back, it's just that this break has been so wonderful! It's been so great to be with the family! So, tomorrow it all starts again and I will be ready!!

Here is a card that I have done for recent workshops. I know that the greeting says "Holiday Greetings" but you can definitely change that! I was thinking of "Happy Birthday" for someone whose birthday happens to be in a winter month! Or even "Thinking of You". All of these greetings and more come with the Sincere Salutations set. This card is super simple (I think that is my motto) - two colors, two punches, some ribbon and a brad! Enjoy your week!

Super Simple!

Happy Sunday! It's kind of gray outside right now but we have lots of white on the ground! We didn't get as much as they thought but we did manage to get the ground covered again! I am loving the snow! I am sorry for those of you who don't but it will end soon enough. We had a great weekend and now it is time to get back into the swing of things and remember that I have to go to work tomorrow.

Here is a super simple card that I made last month. It really is incredibly simple! I use this layout a lot! I just love the way it looks and it goes together very easy! I stamped the medallion image from the Wanted set and punched it out with my scallop punch. It has a brad in the middle and is popped up. The green panel has a piece of twill tape folded in half and glued behind it. Then, because the twill tape is bulky, I used dimensionals to pop up the entire green panel as well. I also added some sponging. And any greeting will work with this card. Hope you get as much use out of this layout as I have (and will continue to do)! Have a great week everyone!

Card Recipe: Stamps- Wanted, Sincere Salutations; Paper- Really Rust, Very Vanilla, Sage Shadow, Chocolate Chip, Outlaw designer series paper (retired); Ink- Chocolate Chip; Accessories- Scallop punch, dimensionals, twill tape, sponge

Autumn Fest in Winter?

Good Day Everyone! It is going to be a snowy weekend for us! So, this card does not really go with the season. I made this card way back in November. But because I couldn't upload it to my site it has now become outdated. But I like it so much that I wanted to show it off. Not only has the season passed but this set, Autumn Fest, has been retired. I do hope that the card layout and color combination gives you ideas for other images.

I don't know if you can see the lowercase "g" in the lower right hand corner but there is one there. I used the jumbo outline alphabet and stamped it in Sky Blue. Then I colored in the "g" with a VersaMarker.

I have new product to "play" with so I will try my best to get some NEW stuff on my blog. I do have a lot of very cute Christmas cards to show but I will hold off for a little while. I may have to post them if I get into a pinch. I don't want to put my blogging fans on hold!! I will not be posting until Sunday or Monday. Have a great weekend!

Card Recipe: Stamps- Sanded background, Jumbo Outline Alphabet, Define Your Life, Autumn Fest (retired); Paper- Close To Cocoa, Sky Blue, Chocolate Chip, Whisper White; Ink- Always Artichoke, Pumpkin Pie, Close To Cocoa, Chocolate Chip, Sky Blue; Accessories- Square punch, buttons, hemp, VersaMarker

Ginger Blossom Coasters

Hello everyone! I am so glad to be back to my blogging world! Shortly after my last post I got a new computer and it has really taken me this long to get everything the way I like it and be able to post pictures! UGH! I really love my new computer but it was really a pain to not have all the programs that I have grown accustomed to.

So, I am back and I am ready to post some new pictures and tell you more about Stampin' Up! My first post of the new year is a birthday gift for a friend that I just finished up. I was so excited about how they turned out that I wanted to post it right away! I hope that she doesn't read the post before tomorrow (that's when I am giving it to her)!

This is a set of four coasters that are really meant for pictures. I had seen someone else alter these coasters and knew that I could do the same! I used mostly new products from the NEW Spring/Summer Collections catalog! If you would like to see a copy, be sure to let me know! I am so excited about all the new products! One new product is the rub-ons! If you have never used rub-ons before then I would love to show you how! They are truly wonderful! Because these coasters didn't leave a lot of room for bulk or three dimension, I had to use just paper. So, there are no brads or ribbon. I needed the coaster to be flat so that the glass wouldn't wobble off!! So, the run-ons made a perfect embellishment! I hope you enjoy!

Card Recipe: Stamps- none; Paper- Ginger Blossoms designer paper, Ruby Red, River Rock, Groovy Guava; Ink- Ruby Red (for some sponging); Accessories- Eastern Elegance rub-ons, scallop punch, circle punches, word window punch
