Butterfly Sorbet

Good morning, Friends! I'm so glad that it's Friday!! Woohoo! My friend Sherry is visiting and we are going to be getting together for some stitching this weekend! I'm so looking forward to that! I also get a much needed massage today! Ahhh!! Should be a most wonderful weekend indeed!!

Today's card was inspired by one I had seen somewhere. A super simple clean and easy card!

  • A strip of Summer Starfruit was scalloped at the top with the scallop edge border punch and then round the bottom right hand corner with the corner rounder
  • Stamp the sentiment from Four You in black stazOn
  • On a square piece of Whisper White use the Essentials paper piercing pack to pierce the shape then adhere to card with dimensionals
  • Use the bitty butterfly punch to punch a butterfly from Whisper White then use the Apothecary Accents framelits to cut out the shape
  • Adhere a small piece of Sweet Sorbet designer paper to the pierced panel and adhere the punched piece to the card with dimensionals
  • Add a rhinestone to the butterfly cut out
Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your day!

CCMC 292

Good morning, Friends! It's time once again for the Thursday challenge at Create with Connie and Mary! This week we are being challenge with some fabulous colors! Take a look!

Summer Starfruit, Pistachio Pudding and Basic Black. These colors can be found in the Sweet Sorbet designer paper pack from the SAB brochure. But I decided to not use the dsp for my card. Check it out!

It took a while for this card to come together as I would start it and then have to walk away and then come back to it and then walk away again. This went on for a few days until I finally was able to put it all together! And I do like the end result!

  • Card base is Whisper White
  • On a piece of Summer Starfruit stamp the splatter images from Gorgeous Grunge in Summer Starfruit and black StazOn then stamp the greeting from Peaceful Petals in black StazOn
  • Round the top right corner with the corner rounder and adhere to a piece of Basic Black card stock that also has the top right corner rounded with the corner rounder
  • Adhere panel to card base
  • Stamp flower and leaf images from Peaceful Petals in black StazOn onto Whisper White
  • I used the ink pad and a blender pen to watercolor my images then I took the Summer Starfruit and Pistachio Pudding markers and colored parts of the image to make them stand out (this is the part that took so long to get the way I wanted)
  • Adhere the leaves to the back of the flower and adhere to card with dimensionals
  • Add two rhinestones
Be sure to check out all the wonderful creations from the other designers at the Create with Connie and Mary site! I hope you will join us and play along! I do love to see how you interpret our challenges! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

FMS 122

Good morning, Friends! So glad we are on the downhill side to the weekend! We registered Nick for his Freshman year yesterday. WOW! I can hardly believe that one! Having to think about the classes you are going to take based on credits for graduation is a new one! Now to wait and see what he actually gets. I hope he starts getting a little more serious about his future now.

Today's card was inspired by the sketch at Freshly Made and is the last of the cards that I did with my stamp club earlier this month. Love this single stamp! You can cut the words apart from the main image to make two stamps. Then you can use the image for a lot of other occasions! Card details:

  • Card base is Naturals White
  • Adhere a piece of Naturals White to the card base with dimensionals
  • Stamp the Hardwood stamp onto a piece of Smoky Slate with Smoky Slate ink and adhere to card
  • Stamp the Blessed Easter stamp onto a piece of Naturals White with black StazOn
  • Color the image with Pistachio Pudding, Strawberry Slush and Smoky Slate markers and a blender pen
  • Adhere panel to a piece of Pistachio Pudding and then adhere to card with dimensionals
  • Add two rhinestones
Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Good morning, Friends! Boy it was hard to get up this morning! I even thought it was later in the week than just Tuesday! I hope this doesn't mean that it is going to be a long week! TSSC 300

Good morning, Friends! I can't believe that this is the last week of February! What beautiful weather we have been having and it makes me think that spring has definitely arrived! I had the windows open for a while yesterday. But I have to admit that I didn't do much of anything yesterday. After I exercised I ended up on the couch watching basketball and then the closing ceremonies of the Olympics. So it was a nice relaxing day for me!! Looking for that motivation and energy to get something accomplished today - lol!

Today's card was one that I did with my stamp club this month. This card was inspired by the sketch from the Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge

  • Card base is So Saffron
  • Cut a circle from Baked Brown Sugar with the 3" circle die then run through the Big Shot with the Arrows embossing folder
  • Stamp the greeting from Geometrical using the Tangerine Tango and Baked Brown Sugar markers onto Very Vanilla
  • Adhere stamped panel to a piece of Tangerine Tango
  • Use the bitty banner punch to punch three banners from Retro Fresh designer paper and adhere to back of stamped panel then adhere to card with dimensionals
  • Adhere two So Saffron candy dots
Pretty simple! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Card Recipe: Stamps- Geometrical; Paper- So Saffron, Tangerine Tango, Baked Brown Sugar, Very Vanilla, Retro Fresh designer paper; Ink- Tangerine Tango, Baked Brown Sugar; Accessories- Arrows embossing folder, bitty banner punch, Subtles candy dots, 3" circle die, dimensionals

Retro 100 and Dynamic Duos 88

Good morning, Friends! Well we had quite the active day yesterday! Nick had a soccer scrimmage in the morning and then we came home to get ready for his basketball game that afternoon. What an exciting game! We tied the undefeated team and then lost in overtime. Bummer! But it was fun and exciting!! Then we came home again for a few minutes and then went to see the last home games for the CMU basketball teams (ladies and men). Both won! Really fun!! But very tiring! There were tons of people there and we didn't have anything to eat beforehand so we ended up eating late and getting to bed extra late. The sleeping in was really nice! And it looks to be an extra gorgeous day today! Nick and Pat are planning to mountain bike! I plan to work on my quilt and maybe do some stamping!

Today's card was inspired by two challenges. I made this one a few weeks ago so these are old challenges. I used the sketch from Retro Sketches and the colors from Dynamic Duos. A ver clean and simple card!

  • Card base is Whisper White
  • Adhere three strips of Gingham Garden designer paper to the card base
  • Stamp the sentiment from Perfect Pennants onto a piece of Whisper White using Island Indigo and Real Red markers and cut out using the Banners framelits dies
  • Tie a piece of Real Red 1/8" taffeta ribbon around the banner and adhere to card with dimensionals
  • Add three Real Red candy dots to the strips
Super easy!! Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your Sunday!!

Retro 101

Good morning, Friends! Looks like it will be a nice weekend around here! Nick has a soccer scrimmage this morning and then a basketball game this afternoon. Should be a fun day! And since I got the laundry done yesterday, I should be free to keep sewing on my quilt and get a few other things done! I can feel spring coming on!!

Today's card was inspired by the sketch at Retro Sketches. I really liked the layout and thought it would be very appropriate to use the Retro Fresh designer paper with the sketch! Because the lines on the designer paper were already at an angle, this really makes in look funky!! But I do like how it turned out!

  • Card base is Tangerine Tango
  • Cut a piece of Retro Fresh designer paper at an angle to fit onto the card base
  • Adhere designer paper to a strip of Coastal Cabana and then adhere to card base
  • Stamp the circle image from Geometrical onto the card base using Tangerine Tango ink
  • Stamp the greeting onto a strip of Very Vanilla using Baked Brown Sugar ink and flag the end
  • Adhere to card base with dimensionals
  • Add two Tangerine Tango candy dots
Pretty easy card! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Card Recipe: Stamps- Geometrical; Paper- Tangerine Tango, Coastal Cabana, Very Vanilla, Retro Fresh designer paper; Ink- Tangerine Tango, Baked Brown Sugar; Accessories- Brights candy dots, dimensionals

Fringed Circle

Good morning, Friends! Oh my, I'm SO glad it's Friday! Woohoo!!! I'm excited to go stitch with my friends tonight and then be able to sleep in a little tomorrow! I have felt a day behind all week!

I actually created this card a few week's ago. I was experimenting with the fringe scissors. These things are so much fun! Anyway, I was trying to come up with a different idea and this is what evolved!

  • Card base is Crumb Cake
  • On a piece of Very Vanilla, stamp the images from Gorgeous Grunge in Basic Gray, Calypso Coral, Crumb Cake and Pool Party (the Pool Party image was stamped off before stamping onto the card stock)
  • Sponge around the edges of a piece of Calypso Coral with Crumb Cake ink and also around the edges of the stamped panel
  • Cut two circles from the Epic Day designer paper with the 3" circle die
  • Sponge the edges with Crumb Cake ink
  • Use the fringe scissors to fringe both circles then adhere together
  • Stamp the image from Perfect Pennants using Basic Gray and Calypso Coral markers  onto Very Vanilla and punch out using the 1 3/4" circle punch
  • Adhere stamped circle to fringed circles with dimensionals and scrunch the fringes around the stamped circle
  • Adhere fringed circle to card
  • Punch a heart from Epic Day designer paper with the small heart punch and sponge edges with Crumb Cake ink
  • Adhere heart to card with a dimensional and add a rhinestone
There you have it! I hope you are inspired to use those fringe scissors! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Card Recipe: Stamps- Perfect Pennants, Gorgeous Grunge; Paper- Crumb Cake, Calypso Coral, Very Vanilla, Epic Day designer paper; Ink- Crumb Cake, Calypso Coral, Pool Party, Basic Gray; Accessories- 3" circle die, 1 3/4" circle punch, small heart punch, fringe scissors, rhinestone, sponge, dimensionals

Make a Starry Wish

Good morning, Friends! It's good to be back home! I had done a few pre-posts before I left. And that was a good thing as we didn't have free internet at the hotel. I was able to tweak a few things while I was in Las Vegas because we found a Starbucks and had some time but that was it. So now I am back to my routine - yeah! The tournament was another tough one. The boys played great!! I can't complain there! And of course, we all had a great time being in Vegas! So much to see! Sensory overload - lol!! Now we are back and it's time to get into the routine.

Today's card was inspired by this sketch I found. Here are the details:

  • Card base is Whisper White
  • Layer of Midnight Muse is adhered to card base
  • On a piece of Whisper White stamp the sentiment from Perfect Pennants in Gumball Green then stamp it again onto a scrap of Whisper White using Midnight Muse ink
  • Cut out the middle part of the sentiment and adhere to card
  • Use the Essentials paper piercing pack to pierce holes in the two top corners then adhere panel to card
  • Stamp stars onto a piece of Whisper White using Summer Starfruit ink and cut out
  • Insert brads into each star and adhere to card with dimensionals
Pretty easy card and one that I thought was a little more masculine. Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Happy Valentine's Day everyone! We will be on our way to Las Vegas in a while! Got a soccer tournament this weekend! I'm looking forward to getting out of town and seeing some warmer temperatures and sunshine!! Good luck Fire FC Premier Boys!!

Today's card was inspired by Karen Giron's sketch from a few weeks ago. Her sample card for the sketch got me thinking about the Circle Card thinlits and this is what I came up with! Here are the details:

  • Card base is Whisper White
  • On a layer of Whisper White use the Occasions paper piercing pack to pierce a heart (really hard to see in photo)

  • Adhere the "xoxo" images to Whisper White layer using dimensionals
  • Stamp the greeting from Teeny Tiny Wishes in Real Red ink onto Whisper White layer
  • Adhere layer to card with dimensionals
  • Punch a banner from Real Red using the Bitty Banner punch and adhere to card

CCMC Spring 14-03

Good morning! It's an early morning for us as Nick has a basketball game. He actually has two but the second one isn't until later. So up and at 'em!! It's time for a Saturday challenge from the Create with Connie and Mary team! They do a Saturday challenge during their special collections and this is the end of week 3 of the Spring Collection! Wow! Only one more week to go! Anyway, this week they have offered this fabulous sketch! Take a look!

A great time to use those Banners framelits! Here's my card...

Using the Banners framelits made this card easy to put together! Here are the details:
  • Card base is Whisper White
  • Run a piece of Pool Party through the Big Shot using the Decorative Dots embossing folder then adhere to a piece of Basic Black card stock
  • Wrap a piece of Pool Party twine from the Sweet Sorbet accessory pack around the panel three times
  • Adhere panel to card with dimensionals
  • Use the banners framelits to cut banners from Basic Black and Sweet Sorbet designer paper and adhere to card
  • Stamp the greeting from Perfect Pennants in black StazOn onto Whisper White and cut out using the Banners framelits
  • Adhere to card with dimensionals
  • Adhere a cork flower from the Sweet Sorbet accessory pack to card (note: I used dimensionals to adhere the flower)
  • Add a Basic Black candy dot to flower center
Be sure to visit the Create with Connie and Mary site to see what the other designers did with this fabulous sketch! And don't panic if you haven't signed up for the Spring Collection. You & Me Coastal

Good morning, Friends! Better late than never, right? My boys let me sleep in this morning. I am fighting the start of a head cold. Ugh! I have been taking this herbal medicine for sinuses called Kick Ass. Well, it smells and tastes like something that could… well, let's just say it's AWFUL!! We had heard that it's worked for a few people so we decided to try it too. I don't really know if it has helped me. And because I was having trouble sleeping through the night due to a stuffy nose, my husband told me to take some Alka-Seltzer. So I did and they let me sleep as long as I could. Now I just feel like I have a hangover. Got my coffee and some breakfast. Hopefully that will help. I also had a headache. Really hoping that all goes away for a great day!! But it won't be that great as my friend Sherry won't be coming for a visit. Bummer!! The mountains are supposed to be getting a LOT of snow this weekend and we want her to be safe. So we are planning another weekend. Stinking snow!! Why can't it snow her in on "this"side of the divide!! Love ya Sherry!!

Today's card was made for a swap I was in last month. Here are the details:

  • Card base is Whisper White
  • Round all four corners of a piece of Coastal Cabana
  • Adhere a piece of Fresh Prints designer paper to the Coastal Cabana piece
  • Tie a piece of Crumb Cake taffeta ribbon around this and adhere to card base
  • Use the 2 1/2" circle punch to punch a circle from Real Red and from the Fresh Prints designer paper
  • Cut the designer paper circle in half and adhere one half to the Real Red circle
  • Use the Essentials paper piercer pack to pierce a half circle in the Real Red part
  • Stamp image from Perfect Pennants onto Whisper White using Real Red and Crumb Cake markers then punch out using the 1 3/4" circle punch
  • Adhere stamped image circle to other circle and then adhere to card with dimensionals
  • Stamp heart onto Whisper White using Coastal Cabana and cut out
  • Adhere heart to a strip of Crumb Cake with both ends flagged then adhere to card
  • Color a rhinestone with a red sharpie and adhere to heart
  • Add three rhinestones to upper left side of card
Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Good morning, Friends! It's good to know that the weekend is getting closer! It snowed a good part of the day yesterday and it's supposed to continue through Friday! At least it seems to be melting and not accumulating. But it is pretty cold this morning. I do hope my friend Sherry will be able to drive over the mountains on Friday!

  • Stamp the lines image from Perfect Pennants in Crumb Cake onto Whisper White, cut out and adhere to card
  • Stamp heart image in Real Red onto Whisper White, cut out and adhere to card
  • Add a rhinestone to the heart
