Celebrate the Journey

Good morning, everyone! I just realized that today is my husband's and mine anniversary! Oops! I wonder if he remembered? It's been 20 years!! We have been so focused on Nick and his baseball tournaments and practices and such that I totally forgot! And time is sure flying by! Too funny! Well, I guess there won't be any "romantic" dinner tonight. We do have practice again today and the coaches want Nick there a little earlier to do some one-on-one pitching practice. That is what we are totally loving about this team and these coaches. They see something in him and want to make him better. And these coaches are the ones to do it! The head coach was actually drafted by the Yankees!! Anyway, I am sure that my husband and I will find time to do something at some point. It just won't be tonight. :)

Today's card is a card I made for a swap that I am in. I also made it for a challenge at Stampin' Connection. It really is a simple card and I love the way it turned out. The Cherry Cobbler color is so beautiful! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Card Recipe: Stamps- Artistic Etchings, Define Your Life; Paper- Crumb Cake, Basic Black, Cherry Cobbler, Very Vanilla; Ink- Basic Black, Crumb Cake; Accessories- Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder, 1 3/4" circle punch, 2 3/8" scallop circle punch, scallop edge punch, Big Shot, dimensionals

Vintage Top Note

Good morning, Friends! I hope your week is off to a great start! It sure is HOT around here. My husband works outside all day long doing yard maintenance for large subdivisions and private residences. I often worry about him as it get so hot during the day. He will get an early start each day but it still reaches the middle 90's by noon. He is really good about drinking lots of water. I just don't know how he can take it. I will be taking Nick into town later to get a haircut. But not just any haircut. He is getting a mohawk today! The boys made a deal that if they won the tournament that everyone had to get mohawks. Normally I wouldn't let Nick get one but this is different. I just love the spirit of this team. And I can't wait to see everyone tonight at practice. This should be really fun!

Today's card is one that I did a while back. I think I used a sketch but I can't remember where I got it now. Sorry. It is super simple! Are you all counting down? Only two more days and the new catalog will be unveiled!! Do you have yours? I have been making a list and checking it twice!! Have a super day!

Thank You Kindly

Good morning, everyone! I really wish I could have slept in a little later. But when I wake up, I wake up. Maybe a nap today? We will see. So this weekend was so incredibly FUN! A little nerve racking, too but fun! Saturday's games we won with the 10 run mercy rule. But Sunday's games were a different story. Our first game was one that we got the 10 run mercy rule on Saturday. But Sunday we had to fight for that win! We went into an extra inning to get that win!! That was exciting but I prefer the other way :) Then we thought that we could beat the second team for sure. Well, that wasn't the case. We came from behind (11-1) and got ahead. We managed to stay ahead until the last out! It was a great game! This second team is one that we will see in the All-Star tournament next Monday. Sure hope we can do it again! Anyway, we went undefeated and got first place!! The boys were so proud and they should be. Coach gave us a day off of practice. They will be back at it tomorrow.

Today's card is one that I made for a recent swap I participated in. I love how the colors work together on this one. I also enjoyed this nice clean layout. Super simple! Thanks for stopping by and for reading about all the baseball ramblings! Have a great day!

Fast & Fabulous

Good morning, Friends! In a few short hours we will be on our way to our second baseball tournament. Nick is very excited. I just hope that they play hard and have fun. Now that we have seen what they can do, I think we are just ready to see them start winning. My philosophy is 'win or lose, I just want them to play well'. That's what makes baseball so much fun! I think that the weather is supposed to be a little cooler there. Maybe overcast and a nice breeze? Don't know for sure but that would be nice! Anyway, wish them luck! Go Fruita Fury!! (Not furry as some people want to call us - lol!!)

Today's card is one that I made for a sketch challenge at Stampin' Connection. I liked that it was simple. The hard part was picking the colors I wanted to use. I love this Daffodil Delight. It is a bright yellow but not so 'in your face'. I also used two new hostess sets - Fast & Fabulous and Occasional Quotes (level 2 and level 3 sets). Thanks for stopping by and I will try to post when we return tomorrow but look for me for sure on Monday! Have a super weekend!

CCMC104

Good morning everyone! It's Friday!! Has it been a long week for you? I think that the days are just flying by around here. Tomorrow we leave for a tournament in Glenwood Springs. I am hoping to post before we leave and then again when we get back on Sunday but we will see. I am usually running around like a chicken with my head cut off making sure we have everything that we need. I am looking forward to the tournament. I think the boys are ready to play a game. They have had so many practices that they are starting to look bored. So I hope that they "perk" up for the weekend!

Today's card is one that I did for the challenge at Create with Connie and Mary. It was a sketch challenge - my favorite!! I think that I just love this new set, Artistic Etchings. I am always coming back to it. This was my interpretation of the sketch and I like how it all turned out. The new Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder is so much fun, too! I used a sponge and Crumb Cake to highlight the embossing. I also used the new Basic Black narrow taffeta ribbon, and the new 2 3/8" scallop circle punch. Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Card Recipe: Stamps- Artistic Etchings; Paper- Very Vanilla, Basic Black; Ink- Crumb Cake; Accessories- Basic Black narrow taffeta ribbon, square fire rhinestone brad, scallop edge punch, 2 3/8" scallop circle punch, 1 3/4" circle punch, Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder, Big Shot, sponge, dimensionals

Blushing Bride

Good morning, Friends! And what a wonderfully hot sunny day it will be! Remember yesterday when I said I was going to get the laundry done and clean the bathrooms and do some stamping? Well, I got a little sidetracked. I did do the laundry because it seems like I have twice as much these days with Nick and all his sports clothes. But I didn't get the bathrooms nor did I do any stamping. Gasp! Instead, I ended up watching the USA win their soccer match!! Wow!! That was exciting!! Just when you thought that they would be going home they score a goal to put them into the next round! So that's what I did instead. But I did clean the kitchen floors. Boy were they gross!! Today? Well, we will see. I do need to get some stamping done but we also need to go to town to get some more stuff for Nick's baseball tournament this weekend. I can't wait for that!!

Today's card is from the Clean & Simple blog; the fall-to layout #95. I loved all the possibilities with this layout. And here is my version of it. I wanted to try using one of the new In Colors. Here I used Blushing Bride with Pear Pizzazz and Perfect Plum. Maybe not my favorite colors together but it's growing on me. Anyway, it's super simple! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Card Recipe: Stamps- Simple Friendship; Paper- Blushing Bride, Pear Pizzazz, Perfect Plum, Whisper White; Ink- Blushing Bride, VersaMark, Perfect Plum; Accessories- Whisper White taffeta ribbon, vintage brads, scallop trim border punch, perfect polka dots embossing folder, Big Shot; dimensionals

Daffodil Delight

Good morning, everyone! I hope that your week has been great so far! We are warming up nicely out here in the desert! It is really going to get HOT today!! But I guess it is summer and it is supposed to do that. Nick is going to have a friend over today so that will leave me a lot of time to do what I need to do. Like laundry, clean the bathroom and stamp! I think I can handle that!! And then later tonight it is more baseball practice. It's kind of nice that we can drop him off, go have a nice dinner and then come back to watch a little of it. Free babysitting!! And Nick is having a great time! We did promise him that we would watch it tonight.

Today's card started from a sketch that I had in one of my notebooks. It didn't end up like the sketch. As I went along, I started doing other things to the card. It's not my favorite but it isn't bad, either. I really like the new core color, Daffodil Delight. I think it is the first bright yellow I have liked. Thanks for stopping by and have a super day! The weekend is almost here!

Eiffel Tower

Hello everyone! I can't believe how late I slept in this morning! I haven't been sleeping very well for a while but I sure did last night! And it felt great! However, I don't like to do that too often as it just makes me kind of sluggish all day and I don't seem to get as much done. And it's going to be another hot one! I do have a hair cut later today (yea!) and Nick has baseball practice all week. Their team looks pretty good and the coaches are excited that they might go pretty far in the tournament this weekend as well as the All-Star tournament in two weeks! We will see...

Today's card is one that I made a while ago. I got the layout idea from a PaperCrafts magazine. It's pretty simple! Even cutting out the Eiffel Tower wasn't that bad. Not too much else to say about it. Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Vintage Friends

Good morning, Friends! I hope that you all enjoyed the blog tour yesterday! If not you can scroll down and go through all the links. I believe that each link will take you directly to the tour post. I will admit that while the tour was fun, it was a little stressful right at the last minute. But you learn a little more each time and I know that I learned A LOT!!

Happy first day of Summer! And it is just that! HOT!! It is hot already here in the early morning. Nick has baseball practice later this evening. It won't cool off too much by then but hopefully it won't be too unbearable either. Thankfully the coaches are really good about keeping the boys hydrated.

Today's card is one that I did for a sketch challenge at Stampin' Connection. This was actually last week's challenge but I am just now getting around to posting it. I used some of the new In Colors on this card. This set was featured in the Spring mini catalog and I thought it went perfectly with this sketch. Thanks for stopping by and have a super day! Keep cool!

Control Freaks Blog Tour #13

Hello All!

You have arrived here from Ilina Crouse. Isn't she amazing? And she is brilliant too!! She helped me get this thing going. I didn't know if I would be able to participate but she was very patient and helped me out. Thank you, Ilina!

My first project is a tag book. I will be doing this project for a shoebox swap at convention this year. I love the way it turned out! This project features the new stamp set Artistic Etchings, and new designer paper called Newsprint. You will also see two new accessories - the 2 3/8" scallop circle punch and new narrow taffeta ribbon. Too fun!

My next project is a card that features the same stamp set, Artistic Etchings and designer paper, Newsprint. A very simple card. This time I used Crumb Cake cardstock (formerly known as Kraft) and added a touch of color, Cherry Cobbler. I just love this red! It is a deep rich red. I also did a lot of sponging with the Crumb Cake pad.

My next project is a card that uses the same layout as my last card. This layout was inspired by a card I did in Becky's card class. I love the simple layout! I used the new set Friends Never Fade. I also used the new core colore, Marina Mist. I LOVE this new shade of blue! In fact, I love ALL the new colors! I can't wait for you to see them, too! Enjoy!

Thanks for stopping by and have a super day! I look forward to seeing you all on another tour! Be sure to continue through the tour by clicking on the button below.

Happy Father's Day

Good morning, Friends! I hope that you are all having a super weekend! We have an early morning baseball practice. Well, Nick does! He is usually a complete BEAR to get up in the mornings! But it sounds like he is up and ready to go! WOW! That shows you how much he loves this team! I will go in a little later to watch. Gotta have my coffee/blogging time :)
Today's card is to honor all those men in our lives! It was also the challenge at Create with Connie and Mary. The challenge was to create a simple Father's Day card. It couldn't get much simpler than this one! I hope everyone has a super Father's Day!
Don't forget to join me and my other Freaks for the monthly blog hop tomorrow! We will be showcasing some new product!

Celebrations

Good Friday morning, Friends! Are you all glad it is Friday? I don't have to say that anymore since I am on my summer break. And I like that. But I do support all of you who work during the week. TGIF! I am getting a massage a little later this morning. I am looking forward to that! Last night Nick got his little trophy for making the 'A' All-Star team and then they had a 3 hour practice. It was so good to see the boys focused and wanting to play! We have a pretty good team! Next weekend the competitive team plays in Glenwood for another tournament. And we are looking forward to that, too! Lots more baseball to come!!

Today's card is one that I did a while ago and I used a sketch that I don't remember where I got it from. Sorry about that! I love this set for summer! And it is super simple to use! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Birthday Wishes for Becky

Good morning, Friends! I would like to say a special Birthday Wish to my wonderful friend, Becky!! Happy Birthday, Becky!!! I hope it is a special one! You can visit her blog (the link is in my side bar) and wish her a happy birthday, too!

If you will remember, yesterday my son got to go swimming with a friend. They had him all day and it was wonderful!! I had SO much fun! And I didn't stamp (gasp). I had lunch with a friend that I used to work with and it was so great to catch up with her. Then I stopped by another friend's store to chat with her. Then I came home and there is my husband who asks if I want to run errands with him and I said "SURE"! How often do we get time with 'just us'? So we spent a couple of hours running errands. Then we were like 'it would be nice to have dinner together' but it was still early. So we had an early dinner at Red Lobster! Yum! And then we came home because my husband had a meeting. Too fun!! So, today I do have to get some laundry done and I do want to do some stamping. But we found out last night that Nick did make the All-Star baseball team! And we are very excited about that!! So lots more baseball coming up for us!

Today's card is the third one I did at my stamp club this month. This is a super simple card but packs a 'punch'. And I think the beautiful satin ribbon helps with that! I love the way this one turned out! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Sweet Scoops

Good morning, Friends! I just said good-by to my son. He was asked by a friend to go to Glenwood Springs for the day to go swimming. Yeah!!!! I have the entire house to myself! And the day!! I am so excited!! What will I do? Well, I am sure I will find something! I am planning on having lunch with a friend. Can't wait to get caught up with her. I should probably go clothes shopping but who wants to get depressed on such a beautiful day? So I will play around with my stamps and get started on my swaps for convention.

Today's card is one that I did with my stamp club ladies. I like this card because it resembles everything summer. And that makes me happy! It is a super simple card and that's another reason to like it, too! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Red, White and Blue

Good morning, Friends! I can't believe we are already half way through the month! It just seems to fly by! Nick had his last little league game last night. No, they didn't win but my husband said that Nick played great! So I am happy for that. I had my stamp club last night and then I went to a soccer meeting to find out what would be expected of us this year. It is going to be a fun year for sports!

Stamp club was a lot of fun! This was our last meeting of the year and this is the time when everyone decides if they are want to continue or take some time off. This year more than half of my group decided to take some time off. I can totally understand that but I am sad. It was so fun seeing everyone! I will miss you!! If you are reading this and would like more information about our stamp club please let me know. There are two ladies that would still like to continue and I am willing to try having long distance club members. So let me know if you are interested in more information.

And speaking of stamp club, this is one of the cards that we made! If you think you may have seen this before, you would be correct! It is a straight copy of the one in the Summer mini catalog! I just loved this card when I first saw it and thought this would be a great one for stamp club. Too fun! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Eiffel Tower

Good Monday morning everyone! I hope that you all had a great weekend. We were really lazy around here. It rained most of the weekend so it was nice to stay inside and watch a little soccer and a little baseball. Nick has his last little league game tonight. This year the season seemed to drag on. It will be nice to get this over with and move on to other things. Coaches will be picking All-Star teams this week, too.

Today's card is another done in my favorite colors - Crumb Cake and Basic Black. I have a lot more but I am trying to space them out. This card is from a 411 sketch. Pretty easy card! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Simple Thanks

Good Sunday morning, Friends! The sun is shining, at least for now. It looks like it could rain but we will see. It did rain for most of the day yesterday. But we needed it! And the cooler temperatures were definitely welcome! Not much going on today.

Today's card is one that I came up with on my own. Can you believe that? I had seen some cards that used a stencil and then stamped over that. So I thought that I could give that a try using stamps. It is a super simple card. I think it turned out quite nice. Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Full of Life

Good morning, Friends! It is quite a rainy one around here! And much cooler than it has been! Nick was supposed to have a little league game this morning but it got cancelled so he is playing baseball on the Wii. So it is a good day to stay inside and lounge around. We will probably watch some Fifa. U.S. and England! Go U.S.!!

Today's card is one that I made for a challenge on Stampin' Connection. It is a clean & simple challenge. She said to find a clean & simple card in the new catalog and copy it. I love those kind of challenges! So my card is copied from page 154 (I think - I don't have my catalog in front of me). I really liked the way it turned out! And I love the colors together! Thanks for stopping by and have a super weekend!

Card Recipe: Stamps- Full of Life; Paper- Not Quite Navy, Poppy Parade, Old Olive, Whisper White; Ink- Not Quite Navy, Poppy Parade; Accessories- rhinestone brad, Fleurettes II, Whisper White taffeta ribbon, square lattice embossing folder, extra large oval punch, fancy flower punch

A Color Challenge

Good morning, Friends! Well the baseball game was horrible! We lost by mercy rule. Yikes! We just couldn't hit the ball. Nick tried but the other team fielded well and that didn't work out so well. Oh well. I might take him to the batting cages today. He is always begging me to pitch to him. But I don't want to go out in all the heat and I am not a very good pitcher (for boys). We keep thinking that we might get a pitching machine.

Today's card is made for a challenge at Create With Connie and Mary. I was one of their top three picks for their sketch challenge! That was a nice surprise! So I thought I would try their color challenge this week. I have to be honest... Since these colors are retiring, I had already packed them away. I never used them anyway and was ready to be done with them. I was into the whole "out with the old, in with the new" idea and was ready to move on. But I dug them out and here you go. I made it very simple because these colors scare me (LOL)!! Check out their blog to see what they came up with. Great samples!! Thanks for stopping by and have a super Friday!!

{friend to friend}

Good morning everyone! I think that I woke up too early this morning but I couldn't sleep. I am getting a massage later today and I can sleep on her table!! Ha! Not too much going on around here today. Nick has a Little League game later this evening. I think that I am supposed to keep score so I guess I had better show up. After watching the boys play their competitive games, Little League games are quite boring. And I don't mean that in a mean way but there is just a huge difference in skill level. I had another parent tell me that a while ago, too. Hopefully the boys will play well and have a good time.

Today's card is from a sketch I got from Splitcoast. Looking at it now, I wish I had made the oval just a bit smaller. I used my nestabilities for the oval. I like the overall look of this card and the way the colors came together but the oval could be smaller. So if you copy this one, keep that in mind. These are some of the new In Colors! Aren't they pretty? Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Amour

Good morning everyone! I hope that your week is going great so far! It seems to be going pretty fast! Things are slowing down here for a while, anyway. So I am enjoying the time to stamp!

Today's card was inspired from a sketch at Clean & Simple. I did change it up a bit but that's where I started. I also noticed that the sketch for last week at Splitcoast was almost the exact same! Lots of possibilities! Remember that I told you all that I am in love with Crumb Cake! I will try to break up the posts a bit with other cards. Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Friends...

Good morning, Friends! It was another hot one yesterday and it is supposed to be the same today. But get this, by the weekend it could be up to 20 degrees cooler! I am looking forward to that! We have even been debating getting a pool this summer. It would be nice to have but then I think of all that cleaning and the money. So, maybe not? We will see if we can stand the heat. So, if you read yesterday's post about the busyness of our lives then this should make you laugh (it did me). My son wakes up yesterday morning (after sleeping in late) and walks around and around the house and then complains about how bored he is! Can you believe it? I told him to enjoy the down time. He looked at me like I was crazy. But I am glad that he is so active.

Today's card is one that I did yesterday as I sat and created. I used another new item that demonstrators got to pre-order. This set is called Friends Never Fade. I looked into my new color coach to get this color combo. This is not one that I would normally use and I am not 100% sold on it even now. It is fine but not my favorite. I used a sketch from CPS. Pretty easy and straight forward. There is a brad in the middle of the flower and now I wish that I had done something different. Not sure what at the moment. Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Hello... It's Me Again!

Good morning my Friends! Long time, no see!! I thought that once school was out, I would have more time to stamp and post to my blog. Boy was I mistaken! It's amazing how "life" just seems to roller coaster! It has all been great but just so busy!!! If you had read my last post you would have known that I was cleaning house for my parents' visit. They came and we had a great time! We watched my son practice baseball and watched him try out for a soccer team and we went to the JUCCO world series tournament. And then we would have to take a break to rest from all that! My son was asked to be a part of a competitive baseball team and they had their first tournament this past weekend. Too bad my parents couldn't have stayed that long. It was so much fun!!! The games were played with college rules so the boys had a LOT to learn before the first game. And get this... They only had SIX practices before that first game! We played four games over the weekend before we were beat! I think that is amazing!!! Nick LOVED it! He got to pitch for three innings in a game. He got to play outfield and first base. The boys got to lead off and steal. It was so exciting to watch! Now we get to look forward to more tournaments! Our next one is in a few weeks in Glenwood Springs. I can't wait! In soccer news... Nick made the premier team! That is the top level team and he is really excited about that, too! And this will mean a lot more traveling to Denver to play games. Our family has entered into a whole new world of sports! So, that is a little bit of what I have been doing the last few weeks. Thanks for letting me ramble.

Today's card is made with some new stuff!! My mom was able to peek at the new catalog before they went home. I am not supposed to discuss it so I won't but this card is made with some items that demonstrators got to pre-order. And I just have to tell you that you will be seeing a lot of cards made with these same colors. Sorry but I am in LOVE with Crumb Cake!!!! (also known as Kraft) I am in LOVE with the fact that we now have a stamp pad and marker in this color and I am using it left and right! The sponging on this card was with Crumb Cake. I used a sketch from Create with Connie and Mary. I love sketches! I did change it up a bit but it gave me a starting point. Anyway, I guess I had better stop. Thanks for reading and looking and not giving up on me! I am looking forward to staying inside where it is cool and getting some creativity going! God Bless!
