Dirt Bike Extreme

Good Monday morning! Are you all ready for another week? I can't believe that August is done. That sure went fast! I will be making this quick as I have to hustle my son to get everything we need and get out the door to school. Sometimes he can be so poky!! Last night my husband ordered me a new computer! It should be here in the next few weeks. I am so excited!

Today's card was based on a sketch from Karen Giron. The sketch was from two weeks ago but I didn't get a chance to post it and you know all the details of that. Anyway, I really liked how this one turned out. I just love this "extreme" look. I used the colors from our recent Stampin' Success magazine to get the background. I did emboss the biker but I didn't cut him (or her) out this time. Anyway, this was a fun card for me. Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Card Recipe: Stamps- Extreme Elements, Extreme Dirt Bike, Fundamental Phrases; Paper- Crushed Curry (textured), Bermuda Bay, Basic Black, Whisper White; Ink- Crushed Curry, Dusty Durango, Bermuda Bay, Soft Suede, VersaMark, Basic Black; Accessories- vintage brads, black emboss powder, punch (I forgot the name-yikes), dimensionals

Fifth Avenue Newlyweds

Good Sunday morning, Friends! I hope that your weekend is going super! I helped at a yard school that our school's parents were putting on. It was a huge yard sale and we sold a ton! In fact we made over $2500!! I say that it was pretty successful! But it was hot out there and I did get a little sunburned. After that my friend and I went out to Olive Garden for a great lunch/dinner. YUM! And then, when I got home, I realized that my ankles were really swollen. So I slept really good last night!!

Today's card is one that I made from a sketch. I can't remember where I got it. Since my computer died, I haven't been able to visit all my favorite websites/blogs. I really like this black and white paper from the new mini catalog. This layout is so versatile. I know that I will be using it again! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Get Well Wanted

Good morning, Friends! It was really hard to go a whole week and not be able to post anything. But it's official. The computer guy pronounced my computer - dead. Yep. There was nothing else to do with it. I know that he gave it his best and he even asked around and looked up the problem to see if there was some kind of solution. My brother will be out over Labor Day weekend and will look at it, too, but I don't hold out much hope. Bummer. Real bummer!! I had stuff on there that I can't replace. And I hadn't backed a lot of it up with a CD either. And then I find all this out right after I take my son to the orthodontist. You guessed it! The poor boy needs expanders on top and bottom. He has teeth that are growing on the inside of his other teeth because there is no more room. Computer or braces? Well, you can see the dilemma! Life goes on. Right now I am using my husband's computer. It will work for now. And I can get my e-mails from my phone so all is not lost.

Today's card is one I made from a sketch that I had found a while back. There is a man in our church who had a liver transplant and we all thought it would be great if we showered him with cards so this is one I made for him. Now I better get it in the mail! It really was simple! I pulled out a stamp set that I hadn't used in a while. I think it makes a great "guy" card. I also used the Perfect Details texturz plate for the background. Well, thanks for not giving up on me! Have a great weekend!!

Sorry...

Hello, Friends! I am so frustrated. My computer decided to crash last night. I was trying to upload a few cards that I had made and I can't even log in. It is really bad. I hope to have it up and running soon but I haven't heard what the problem might be yet. I will keep you all updated. I hope to take some new pictures and use my computer at school to upload them. So don't count me out yet! Thanks for all your wonderful comments! I can't even tell you how much I love to read them and how much they mean to me. You all are so very wonderful! Have a super Monday and I hope to have something to show you tomorrow.

Traditional Decorations

Good Sunday afternoon! I hope that your weekend is turning out really swell. Mine is! My son realized that he starts the school routine tonight. And he is not that thrilled. But there are things about school that he is really excited about. Again, I am sorry that I didn't get my post done this morning. But I was working on a card before we went to church this morning and I had to fiddle with a few things and it took me longer than I had anticipated. So, I had to wait to post until we got back. I have to get my laundry done and I am hoping to get some clothes shopping done. I just hate clothes shopping. I have the hardest time finding things that fit right. UGH! But we will see. Maybe I will just stay home and enjoy the day.

So, today's card comes from a CPS sketch. I thought it was different and had lots of possibilities. I know that most of us are not ready for Christmas but I am trying out different things so that when it comes time I will have some ideas for my cards this year. Also, I think that I am going to donate several sets of handmade Christmas cards to our school's silent auction that will be held at the end of September (I think). I love the ornament punch with this set! No need for cutting!! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day! I will post from school tomorrow!

Card Recipe: Stamps- Delightful Decorations, Teeny Tiny Wishes; Paper- Old Olive, Real Red, Chocolate Chip, Very Vanilla, Christmas Traditions designer paper; Ink- Chocolate Chip, Real Red, Old Olive; Accessories- Old Olive taffeta ribbon, vintage brads, Ornament punch, Boho Blossoms punch, corner rounder, dimehsionals

Autumn Days

Good afternoon, Friends! Sorry I am posting so late. I slept in late this morning and enjoyed every minute of it! Then my wonderful husband made us breakfast. Then we had to go pick up his truck from the shop. Then I got home and really wanted to make a new card to post. Then I had a hard time deciding what to do and finally decided that this would have to do so I could get something posted! I had a plan in my mind and this was not it. But it didn't turn out all bad. I really love this stamp set and I feel good about how it turned out in the end.

I ended up using the Stamping 411 sketch. I was featured on their Stamper's Showcase for my Extreme Dirt Bike card that you can see here. Too fun!! Anyway, while this card took me a while to do it is pretty easy. I got to use my new Perfect Details texturz plate. I love it!! I can tell I will be using this one a lot! Thanks for stopping by and have a super weekend!!

Delightful Decorations

Good morning everyone! Well, it's early around here so that I can make sure that I get to school on time. We had our Back To School Night last night and it seemed to go really well! I am getting excited about the group of kids I am going to have. And the parents! I think this will be a fantastic group! I will have to start posting from school, though, as I won't have time before I leave. It can get really crazy around here in the mornings.

Today's card is inspired from a sketch I had drawn. I am sure that I saw it somewhere. Super easy. I just love this new set. This set, Delightful Decorations, is one you will find in the new Holiday mini catalog getting ready to debut on September 1! There is also a punch that will punch out these decorations! Love it!! No cutting for me on this card. I punched out the little snowflake or star thingy with my Boho Blossoms punch. I thought that was clever. Like I said, super easy! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day! Hey, it's Friday!!

Extreme Dirt Bike

Well, finally! I mean, Good Morning, Friends! I have spent the last half hour trying to load this card!! UGH!!! I have been so extremely frustrated! I don't know if it's the internet that's so slow or my computer or the website. But something is not working the way it should! O.k. I am better now. At least I am this far in the process. Hopefully it will publish when I am ready. Now that I have spent so much time on this I really have to hurry. Got to get to school and finish up a few things before tonight. It's Back To School Night tonight.

Today's card is made from a Stamping 411 sketch. I let my son pick out the colors for this one. He wanted to incorporate more colors but I encourage him to just these. If you know me then you know I like simple! So he settled on these. I am glad he has so many favorite colors. He loves this stamp and I am having a blast with it! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Razzleberry Butterfly

Good morning, Friends! Wow! It's Wednesday already! Our middle school started today as well as all the other public schools in the valley. I guess I should get myself to school a little earlier today but I am really enjoying the time at home still. I do need to get ready for our Back To School night which is tomorrow evening. So, I guess I will go in for a little while at least. I really need to do some stamping! I find that I am running out of cards for the blog. Not good! And I still have new toys to play with!

Today's card is one that I made some time ago from a sketch. I really liked the sketch but the card didn't thrill me that much. It's not bad but it's not my favorite. I will have to try this sketch again. Anyway, it's pretty simple! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Butterfly Cottage

Good morning everyone! I am off to a very late start this morning. But it just felt so good to sleep in a little bit. It's kind of cloudy here so I just felt like snuggling into the blankets just a bit longer. We have a little luncheon that I need to get ready for so this will be a little shorter.

This card is one I did quite a while ago. I am not sure how I feel about it. It's not my favorite but it does work. Anyway, I did follow a sketch I found somewhere (sorry I can't remember). I used the colors from the Cottage Wall designer paper. Still not sure how I feel about Orchid Opulence. Anyway, thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Extreme Elements

Good Monday morning, Friends! Did you have a great weekend? It sure went fast! We are getting ready to head out the door to go to school. I don't think that I have a ton of stuff to do but I will probably find more stuff when I get there. I still can't believe that summer is over. Our middle school will start on Wednesday and then we (elementary) start next Monday.

Today's card was a card that I submitted for the LNS challenge last week. The challenge was to find a card to copy from the catalog and change at least two things. We were also supposed to make it "kid" friendly. So this is what I came up with. I chose the Halloween card from page 22 to copy. I kept the same colors and layout but changed the stamps and the embellishment. My card measures 3 x 6. I cut my Basic Black cardstock to 12 x 3 and then folded in half. I really liked how it turned out. And, more importantly, my son LOVED it! Thanks for stopping by and have a great start to a great week!

Peaceful Snowflakes

Good Sunday morning everyone! I hope that your weekend is going great! Our Soccer Palooza went wonderfully! We played our two games and I think that the boys learned a lot. They have an awful lot to learn this year as they are playing on a full sized field and they went from 8 players on the field to 11. So there are some new positions. I think one thing they will learn quickly is to pass that ball! They were dying because a lot of them could run up and down the field with the ball. Anyway it will be a great season!

Today's card is one that I did using an older splitcoast sketch. I was trying to figure out a card to do for a card swap that I am in. I decided not to use this one as I didn't have enough designer paper. I did come up with one and I will show that sometime next month. The swap isn't due for some time. Can you believe that I am ahead of the game? Me neither! Anyway, I just love the look of the Vanilla craft on the Kraft cardstock. So elegant. Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

A Trendy Tree

Good morning, Friends! How's your weekend going so far? We are on our way to Soccer Palooza! Nick has a game in an hour and a half. We are still trying to get him out of bed. Then he has another game later on this morning. I have to tell you that the soccer people had to change the location of this event. The soccer office does this event every year to kick off the soccer season. And they do it at a certain location. Well, this year President Obama is speaking at the high school right next to the park today. That means that roads will be closed and it would have been next to impossible to get where we needed to go. I think that security would have been so tight that we wouldn't have been able to have it there anyway. So, we risked having to cancel the event. Except that they decided to change it to the other large park (closer to my house anyway) and so we are once again really excited! Sorry for all the rambling. Nick is just glad that he gets to play.

Today's card is one that I did a while back. I actually did it for a swap I was in last month. I don't think that I have shown it yet. If I did, well then, I am sorry. I have been trying to keep better track of what I have shown. Anyway, I was inspired by a swap card that I had received quite a while ago. I really like how this turned out and it was easy! I do use the stamp-a-ma-jig when using these trees but it is pretty easy. Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!

Krafty Medallion

Good morning everyone and happy Friday! I decided that I was not going in to school today. I have worked hard for three days now and feel pretty well caught up. There are a lot of little things left to do but I still have next week. For the most part I am ready! It was really nice to sleep in. It is cloudy around here and it could rain. I really wish it would. I hate it when it is just a few raindrops. Then it just gets so humid. Yuck! Tomorrow is Soccer Palooza! Yeah, I don't really know what that is either. We have never gone before. It is a big event that the soccer office puts on to open up the soccer season. But the coach wants our boys to play two games tomorrow so that is exciting! I will let you know how that goes.

Last night was Shoebox club. I get together with five other ladies (it was four last night because one couldn't make it) and we get a project together. This is the card that I did. I also made 100 of these for a card swap that I was in. I thought it might be safe to share since it is due tomorrow. I should my swaps back sometime next week. I rather liked how it all turned out. I took my inspiration from a card in last year's catalog. Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Three Squared

Good morning everyone! UGH! This will be the norm in a few short weeks! Actually, it will be earlier than this! I have to go in to school today for meetings. At least they are serving us food! YUM!! Our office administrator is an awesome cook and baker! We get really spoiled! I am just so very tired right now. I am looking forward to tomorrow when I can sleep in a little. I got a lot done yesterday. I think that I can work on the little things now like organizing my desk, work on lesson plans, things like that.

Today's card was inspired by a splitcoast sketch. I loved the simple layout. I stamped the wheat image three times on scrap cardstock and then punched each out at different places to make it a little more interesting. Super simple! Thanks for stopping by!

Razzleberry Expressions

Good morning, Friends! I hope your week is going super! It's already Wednesday and that means that the weekend will be here soon! Hang on!! I did go into school yesterday to start getting my classroom set up. It's coming together nicely. I still need to get things up on the wall. I did a lot of cleaning yesterday and got the books out on the desks. Getting the classroom together will be the easy part (I think). It's all the paperwork stuff that I will need to have together before the first day that can get annoying. It seems that private schools all across the country are feeling the effects of the economy and ours is no exception! I only have 10 kids registered so far. While I am very excited about that, it's not good for the income of our school which depends solely on fundraising and paying families. We will see what happens as the school year begins.

Today's card is the third card we did at my stamp club on Monday night (you can see the second card here). I really liked this card! And I think the ladies did as well. I actually used a layout from the Holiday mini catalog for this card. This is a super simple card to do. I hope that you all can see the diamond pattern on the olive piece. That was done with the Big Shot and the texturz plate. I also used textured cardstock for this card. I hope that you are inspired as well! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Witch's Hat

Good morning my stamping friends! I hope that your week has started out fabulously! I enjoyed my day yesterday by getting ready for my stamp club, finishing up some laundry (not that much fun but I can multi-task), and relaxing. Today I am planning on going in to school to start sorting out what needs to get done. I need to start somewhere. I think if I go in and start, it will help motivate me to keep going.

Last night was my stamp club. We meet every other month on the second Monday. We always have so much fun! We missed you, Jeannie!! I really look forward to stamp club. This is one card that we made. I thought that since we wouldn't be meeting until October that we might as well make a Halloween card this month so that everyone would have time to plan ahead. I used a sketch that I got somewhere and came up with this card. I really liked how it turned out and I think the ladies did too. Super simple! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Serene Snowflakes

Good morning, Friends! I hope that you all had a very pleasant weekend! We sure did! Last night my husband got a wild idea that he would set up our old surround sound system to our new t.v. upstairs. It took him a while but he did get it figured out for the dvd/blue ray. So to help him get it figured out he had Nick put in a movie. So Nick chose Transformers. Well, even after Pat got it all figured out we had to watch the entire thing. Then after that movie we promised Nick that we could watch Race to Witch Mountain. So we had to put that one in as well. Yeah, it was pretty late when we finally got to bed. But it was fun!

Today's card uses a sketch from Splitcoast. I used this same layout on a card a few days ago. I really like it! It is really simple and fun. And I finally got to play a little with some new toys. I used the new Serene Snowflakes stamp set from the new Holiday mini catalog. I also used the part of a stamp from the set Four the Holidays. Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Flower Trio

Good afternoon, Friends! We seem to have a busy day before us so I will make this short. It seems that we are all thinking about school starting. This week we will be busy at school getting things together and ready. Getting the books out, getting desks cleaned out and arranged. Getting the bulletin boards up and lesson plans made. WOW! Can it really be? And I got my new Holiday mini goodies and I haven't even had time to ink them up yet. I do have a workshop tomorrow. Yea!!

Today's card came from a sketch that I had gotten somewhere a while back. I liked the way it turned out. Just don't look at it too closely. It seems that everything is slightly tilted in one direction. UGH! I hate when I do that! Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Thank You Flowers

Good morning everyone! It feels so good to sleep in! And it was even really cool early this morning so it felt nice to snuggle under the covers. I seem to sleep much better when I can snuggle under the blankets. And it's hard to snuggle when it is so darn hot outside. The weather the last few days has turned more cool and that has been nice. My husband likes it because he works outside all day and it has been great for kids who are practicing sports or doing some kind of sports camp. We will take it!!

Today's card is one that I copied from the new Holiday mini catalog. Can you guess which one? I really liked the layout and it was simple. I borrowed the set Enjoy Every Moment. My son didn't like it. Maybe that's why he "accidentally" spilled a drop of water on the card. Can you see it? UGH! Kids. Anyway, it was fun to do!

Did I tell you all that I got my new goodies from the Holiday mini? I haven't had time to play yet. Hopefully today. We do have friends coming over later. Then tomorrow we are going to the lake. Geesh! Where is all the time going?! I must stamp! Thanks for stopping by! Have a great weekend!

Monochromatic

Good morning everyone! It's Friday! We played our last softball game last night. Yeah, we lost 13-7. It could have been worse but we rallied back from 12-2! I didn't do half bad. But the most important thing is that I did not get hurt!! And it was a lot of fun! We may play one more game if we can get it rescheduled but we will see. They wanted to reschedule it for Saturday at 8 in the morning. I said I don't do anything at 8 in the morning on a Saturday!! Ha!! My legs are so sore but I think that is a good thing and I should probably keep up the exercise. Hmmmm...

Today's card uses two challenges. The first challenge is the splitcoast sketch challenge #239. I really liked the sketch. Actually, it is last week's sketch. The second challenge is the Late Nite Stampers challenge of making a monochromatic card. I think I accomplished that as well. A super easy card!

I have a massage later this morning so I guess I better go get myself ready. I am still in my pajamas as I finally was able to just sleep!! It felt so good! And these kinds of days are slipping away. Thanks for stopping by!

More DSP Show-Off

Good morning, Friends! I hope your week is going great! It sure is flying by!! Today is Nick's last day of soccer camp. Yesterday he had camp and then a few hours later he had practice. He was good and tired when he got home. So tomorrow he will be most happy to be able to sleep in. Me too!! We had a loud cricket in our room last night so that meant that our sleep got interrupted. UGH! Those things are SO annoying! So I am a little tired but it will be fun to have some stamping time today!

Today's card is the last one in a series that I made using the same layout to show off the beautiful designer paper. I just love this Cottage Wall designer paper. The colors are so pretty! I cut a butterfly with my Big Shot and then embossed the butterfly with the texturz plate. Stamp a greeting and there you have it! Thanks for stopping by!

Designer Show-Off

Good early morning, Friends! I hope that your week is going swell! It is "hump" day and that means that the weekend is almost upon us. I got the official "start back to work" call yesterday. That means that next week I will be working in my classroom to get that all set up and ready. It will be good to get back to a routine. But I will be sad to see my stamping time get bumped. Today, however, Nick has his soccer camp and that means that I will be spending my day stamping at Becky's! That's 5 hours!!

Today's card is another one to show off the designer paper. These kinds of cards are so super quick and easy. I followed Becky's card class card again and switched it up a bit. Yesterday's was closer to the card we actually made. I hope that you are inspired. Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Lemonade Thanks

Good afternoon everyone! I am much later in posting today because I had to get up early today and take my son to the dentist. I haven't taken him in quite a while (I know, bad mom) and he is at the point where we will be needing to see an orthodontist. Ca-ching!! His teeth are healthy but they did confirm that we needed to get into an ortho as soon as possible. Then we were off to soccer camp. It seems like they had a great time. I went over to Becky's house (she lives right there at the park where they practice and are having the camp) and played! It was great! And I didn't have to be out in the heat! I think that the sprinklers came on while they were playing out there so that helped to cool them off a little. Another camp day tomorrow so I will be playing again!

Today's card is a copy of one that I did in card class with Becky last month. It is super easy and a great way to show off the designer paper. In fact, I made two other versions of this same layout. Love it! Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Sweet Sunday Sketch #29

Good morning, Friends! Are you all ready for another week? I can't believe that we are getting into August already! This week will be filled with soccer camps. Tonight my son has a short camp with soccer champ, Eric Wynalda! I think he is excited. I mean, we didn't really know that he is a 3 time world cup soccer champ or anything because we don't really follow the soccer circuit like we do football, basketball and baseball. But I still think it is exciting that he is coming to our little ol' town to teach his methods! Anyway, Nick is excited to learn about his power kicks. Then the next three days he will be in camp with some great college players from UCLA. And the best part (well, for me anyway) is that while he is at camp, I get to stamp with Becky!

Today's card is from Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch #29. I always love her sketches and this one is certainly no exception. What fun!! I can't wait to try it with some other images. This card started as 6 1/2 square and then folded in half. I think that I should make it just a 'tad' smaller so that it will fit a little more nicely in the envelope. It's a simple card and I like the way it turned out. Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Card Recipe: Stamps- Simple Snowflake, Teeny Tiny Wishes; Paper- Brocade Blue, Night of Navy, Real Red, Kraft, Whisper White; Ink- Brocade Blue, Night of Navy; Accessories- Jumbo Snowflake punch, Kraft corduroy button, silver brad, ticket corner punch, My Way punch, dimensionals

New Challenge

Good morning everyone! I hope that your weekend is going swell! It looks to be a lovely Sunday around here! I have so much to do today. So I am hoping to multi task a bit and be able to stamp a little. But we will see.

For today's card I used a card that I did in last month's card class at Becky's. I did change it up a bit but I wanted to combine a couple of challenges. The first challenge was for the Late Night Stampers group that I belong to. We are supposed to make a Christmas card (like a Christmas in July). The second challenge is for the Pals Paper Arts challenge. This is their very first challenge and it is a color challenge. The colors are Bermuda Bay, Melon Mambo and Chocolate Chip. I thought these colors would be fun for Christmas. Something a little different. Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Dotted Basil

Good morning, Friends! I hope that you will be able to fully enjoy your weekend! I need to enjoy each day that I have left before I go back to school. I find myself getting a little more ready to go back each day and that's probably a good thing. I was able to get some scrap booking done last night at my friend Becky's house. Great food, great friends and great times! Thanks Becky and Sherry!! It's been a while since I have put pictures on pages. Need to do more of that.

I am posting later today because I slept in!! Yea!!! It felt so good! In fact the rest of my family is still sleeping. Wow! Then I remembered that I could order from the new Holiday mini catalog!! So I got myself a cup of coffee and got on the computer and started spending more money!! I can't wait to get my new stuff!

Today's card is from an old sketch. A splitcoast sketch, I think. I wanted to do something a little different with the Herb Expressions set so this is what transpired. I rather like it! I just stamped the Basil image three times on scrap cardstock and then colored with blender pens. Then I punched each out with the square punches. I also used the Cottage Wall designer paper. I stamped the greeting in black right on the designer paper. I used the Rich Razzleberry grosgrain ribbon but I flipped it to the other side so the polka dots didn't show up. I thought there were enough dots on the card that I didn't need to add any more (lol). Love that ribbon! Thanks for stopping by and have a fabulous day!
