CCMC 322

Hello everyone! It's time for the Thursday challenge at Create with Connie and Mary! This week we have a color challenge! Take a look!

Tangerine Tango, Crushed Curry and Basic Black. Great colors for a Halloween card but I really don't have any Halloween stamps! Yikes!! That is scary - lol! I finally did order a set but this is what I came up with instead. Take a look!

Last weekend we were in Leadville and the drive up was spectacular! The aspens were turning beautiful shades of gold, yellow, orange and red. It was stunning!! So even though I made this card before that drive, I am reminded of those beautiful aspens when I look at this card.

  • Card base is Crushed Curry
  • Adhere a piece of Tangerine Tango to the card base
  • On a piece of Whisper White stamp the background stamp from For All Things using Crushed Curry ink then stamp the sentiment on top using Tuxedo Black Momento ink
  • Adhere Whisper White piece to a piece of Basic Black and tie a piece of Crushed Curry chevron ribbon around the panel and then adhere to card with dimensionals
  • Stamp the leaf image onto Whisper White using Tangerine Tango ink and cut out
  • Adhere leaf to the knot on the ribbon and anchor to card with a dimensional
  • Thread a piece of linen thread through a gold basic metal button and tie a bow then adhere to leaf
Be sure to see all the wonderful creations at Create with Connie and Mary! The design team came up with some really fantastic creations!! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

CCMC Holiday Card "Create"tions Blog Hop Week 3

Good morning everyone! It's a Create with Connie and Mary blog hop! You probably have just seen a beautiful project from Debbie! And when you are done here you will click on the icon at the bottom of this post to take you to the next blog. Such fun!

We have come to the end of week 3 and the end of our wonderful time with the Create with Connie and Mary Cards "Create"tions. We had so much fun and I hope that you enjoyed seeing all the great projects! This past week I used the Ornamental Pine stamp set to make my cards so I am using it for my project today! The design team is featuring the Petite Cafe Gift Bags. Here's what I did!

I kept it pretty simple. I like the kraft color of the bag and using that color for Christmas is always a favorite of mine! I wanted to stamp the pine bough several times on the bag but the folds of the bag didn't look very pretty so I started over! I decided that I would put the greeting on the bottom part along with some Trim the Tree designer paper. I just now realized that it is very hard to see, but I used the dotted ribbon scallop punch to punch a strip of Early Espresso to put under the greeting and then popped that up onto the lower panel. The dsp is backed with some Cherry Cobbler. I stamped the pine bough image from Ornamental Pine onto the bag with Tuxedo Black Momento ink and then colored the pine needles with the Old Olive Blendabilities. I sponged the edges of the bag with Whisper White craft ink. I wrapped some Early Espresso baker's twine around the bag several times and tied a bow. The ornament is stamped onto Whisper White using Cherry Cobbler ink and cut out. I threaded a piece of Early Espresso baker's twine through the ornament and tied it to the bag. It is also adhered with a dimensional. Then I added a rhinestone to the center.

Time to send you on to Connie's blog! I know she will inspire you with an awesome project! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

CCMC 321

Good morning! It's Thursday and time for another challenge from the Create with Connie and Mary team! This week we have a sketch for you!

I have to admit that I stared at this sketch for a long time. Yes, the strips are easy enough - washi tape, dsp, stamps... But I could figure out what to do after that! Ugh! Nothing I did seemed to look right. Everything seemed so unbalanced. Finally this came together and I was satisfied!

I hadn't used my Flower Patch stamps all that much so that's what I went with! I wanted to use some fall like colors to go with the time of year.

  • Card base is Whisper White
  • On another piece of Whisper White, adhere two pieces of the Color Me Autumn washi tape
  • Stamp the greeting from Flower Patch onto the panel using Blackberry Bliss ink then adhere panel to card with dimensionals
  • Stamp the main flower image onto a piece of Whisper White using Hello Honey ink and the center part using Soft Suede ink then cut out using the Flower Fair framelits
  • Stamp the leaves onto a piece of Whisper White using Mossy Meadow ink and cut out using the Flower Fair framelits
  • Adhere the leaves to the back of the flower then adhere flower to card with dimensionals
  • Thread a piece of linen thread through a gold basic metal button and tie a bow then adhere to flower center
Be sure to visit the Create with Connie and Mary site to see what the other designers did with this sketch. Don't miss out on signing up for the Holiday Cards "Create"tions! We are ending week three and there is so much to see! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Crafty Birthday Buddy

Good morning, Friends! It's Wednesday and it's one of my favorite days of the week! I have a shorter day at school and it means we are on the downhill side to the weekend! It's going to be a busy weekend so there won't be much time to catch up on rest but I'm still looking forward to it! Nick got home last night and said that JV won their soccer game last night! And he said that he didn't get scored on in goal! Just wish we could have seen him play but that's the way it goes. Pat and I did get to see our nieces play volleyball at the middle school yesterday and that was fun! They won both their games! Here's hoping that I get a lot of stamping and laundry done today!!

Today's card is a fun one! Love the Little Buddy Birthday stamp set! Such cute images! I kept it simple and had fun coloring with my blendabilities!

  • Card base is Crumb Cake
  • Run a piece of Coastal Cabana through the Big Shot using the Large Polka Dots embossing folder then adhere to card base
  • Made a tag from Whisper White and round the top with the 1 3/4" circle punch and punch a hole for the ribbon
  • Stamp the greeting from Little Buddy Birthday at the bottom of the tag using Tuxedo Black Momento ink
  • Punch a strip of Calypso Coral using the dotted ribbon scallop punch and adhere to back of tag
  • Thread a piece of the Natural 5/8" Chevron ribbon through the hole and tie it together with a piece of white baker's twine
  • Adhere tag to card with dimensionals
  • Stamp the bird image onto a piece of Whisper White using Tuxedo Black Momento ink and color in with Blendabilities: Daffodil Delight, Coastal Cabana and Calypso Coral
  • Cut the bird out and adhere to tag with dimensionals
Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

New Home

Good morning! I hope your week got off to a great start! I was glad that Monday passed quickly! Nick has his first travel soccer game today! Unfortunately, Pat and I cannot go :( Yep. Work gets in the way of being able to see an afternoon game in another town. Oh, well. I'm sure he will do great and have lots of fun! I'm hoping to be able to get off early on Friday to go to his out of town game then. It will be another busy weekend with a bike race and a soccer game! Guess I had better plan ahead and get a lot done this week!

Today's card was inspired by the sketch at Viva la Verve. I thought the long skinny panel would be great for using my new Holiday Home stamp set! I was also in the mood to color a bit and enjoyed using my blendabilities with this set!

  • Card base is Whisper White
  • Run a piece of Whisper White through the Big Shot using the Large Polka Dots embossing folder and adhere to card base
  • Adhere a long skinny piece of Whisper White to the card using dimensionals
  • Stamp the house from Holiday Home onto a piece of Whisper White using Tuxedo Black Momento ink and color in using Blendabilities: Smoky Slate, Cherry Cobbler and Daffodil Delight
  • Cut the house out using the Homemade Holiday framelits and adhere to card with dimensionals
  • Stamp the greeting onto a strip of Whisper White using Tuxedo Black Momento ink and flag the ends then adhere to card
  • Thread a piece of linen thread through a basic metal button and tie a bow then adhere to card
Super simple! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Mostly White Work of Art

Good morning everyone! It's another Monday! Joy!! I didn't get as much stamping done as I would have liked but I did get a lot done! Now to keep up the momentum! I also got time to stitch yesterday! That was fun! And I got home in time to see the Broncos pull out a win! That was scarier than it needed to be!! All in all it was a great weekend! This week is looking to be really busy and then we have another crazy busy weekend. Sure makes the days fly by!

Today's card was one that Becky did in her card class last month. I hadn't played with the Work of Art set in a long time and thought I could add my twist to her layout.

  • Card base is Whisper White
  • Run a piece of Whisper White through the Big Shot using the Large Polka Dots embossing folder
  • On a piece of Whisper White stamp the three "swoosh" images from Work of Art using Hello Honey, Calypso Coral and Pool Party inks
  • Stamp the greeting using Basic Grey ink
  • Adhere stamped panel to a piece of Whisper White
  • Tie a piece of Blushing Bride cotton ribbon around the panel and adhere to card with dimensionals
  • Stamp the heart image onto a piece of Whisper White using Blushing Bride ink and cut out then adhere to card with dimensionals
  • Add three rhinestones to card
Super simple with lots of white!

CCMC Holiday Card "Create"tions Blog Hop Week 2

Hello everyone! The Create with Connie and Mary Cards "Create"tions has come to the end of week 2. We are doing a blog hop at the end of each week to close the week out and give everyone a sneak peek of the set that we used during the week. You may have just come from Debbie's blog. She always has a beautiful project to inspire us all! For the end of week 2 we are showing you ways to use the Tiny Treat Boxes that are in the Holiday mini catalog. Here's what I did with mine!

I used the dots stamp from the Festival of Trees set to stamp the outside of the box using the Whisper White craft pad. This stamp is actually used to decorate the tree stamp but I thought it could look like snow on the box! Then I decided to make a simple tag. My tag seems kind of oversized for this cute little box but I couldn't resist. I made a tag from Whisper White card stock and rounded the top of it using the 1 3/4" circle punch then I ran it through the Big Shot using the En Pointe embossing folder. I stamped the tree image from Festival of Trees using Pear Pizzazz ink onto Whisper White and punched it out with the coordinating Tree punch. I stamped the "to/from" onto the tree using Mossy Meadow ink and then adhered the tree to the tag with dimensionals. I threaded some white baker's twine through a gold basic metal button and adhere it to a folded piece of Natural 5/8" Chevron ribbon and then adhere it to the tag. I adhere the tag to the top of the box making sure it would still be easy to open the box.

I love how you get a lot of boxes in a package! So many fun things to do with these cute little things! So now I send you on to Connie's blog to see what fun idea she has come up with!! Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Thankful Wreath

Good morning everyone! Boy! It feels like a Monday but I am sure glad it's Friday! We have been running behind and I even got up early! Yikes!! Nick's soccer game went really well! They won 6-2! And while Nick was in goal, he didn't get scored on!! He got to play a lot and that was exciting, too! He has another game tomorrow morning and I am thankful it is here at home! I have SO much stamping to catch up on! I am hoping to work really hard tomorrow! Come on mojo!!

Today's card was one I did for my shoebox group that met last night. Remember how I had said that Wednesday was going to be my day of getting a lot of stamping done since I get out of school early? Well this was the only card I could muster up! UGH! I really hope Saturday is a better day! Anyway, I liked the way this turned out!

  • Card base is Mossy Meadow
  • On a piece of Crumb Cake stamp the Hardwood background stamp using Crumb Cake ink and sponge the edges with Crumb Cake ink
  • Stamp the first layer of leaves from Wondrous Wreath onto Whisper White using Crushed Curry ink and the second layer of leaves using Cajun Craze and then the berries using Blackberry Bliss then cut out using the coordinating framelits
  • Stamp the bow onto Whisper White using Mossy Meadow ink and cut out with the coordinating framelits
  • Adhere the wreath to the stamped panel with dimensionals
  • Adhere the bow to the wreath using dimensionals
  • Stamp the greeting from Really Good Greetings using Mossy Meadow ink then adhere panel to card with dimensionals
  • Adhere a bow tied with the gold baker's twine to the wreath
  • Add a Cajun Craze candy dot
At shoebox last night one of the ladies "accidentally" sponged the wreath with the Crumb Cake ink and it looked awesome!! Just another happy accident! Thanks, Molly!! Have a super day!

Card Recipe: Stamps- Wondrous Wreath, Really Good Greetings, Hardwood background; Paper- Mossy Meadow, Crumb Cake, Whisper White; Ink- Mossy Meadow, Crumb Cake, Crushed Curry, Cajun Craze, Blackberry Bliss; Accessories- gold baker's twine, Regals candy dots, sponge, dimensionals

Good morning, Friends! It's time for another challenge from the Create with Connie and Mary team! This week we are being challenged with some very beautiful colors!

Lost Lagoon, Pear Pizzazz and Smoky Slate are the same colors that can be found in the All Is Calm suite in the Holiday mini catalog. And while I do have that line, I decided to keep it all very simple! Take a look!

This set is just so easy to use and makes quick Christmas cards! This card would even be great for mailing as it has very simple embellishments!

  • Card base is Pear Pizzazz
  • Stamp the pine bough image from Ornamental Pine onto the card base using Pear Pizzazz
  • Flag the end of a strip of Whisper White and stamp the greeting using Smoky Slate ink then adhere to card
  • Stamp the ornament onto Whisper White using Lost Lagoon ink and cut out
  • Punch a hole at the top and thread a piece of silver ribbon through and tie a knot then adhere to card with dimensionals (use a glue dot to adhere the knot to the card)
  • Add a rhinestone to the ornament

We all could use a nice relaxing day but I guess we will get over it and get to work! Nick had his first mountain bike race yesterday! He did great! He rode almost 10 miles in just over an hour and most of it was a grueling uphill! Our of 70 riders, he came in 39th. It was really exciting! He has another one in two weeks! Today's card was inspired by the sketch at Freshly Made.  I was in the mood to use some blendabilities.

CCMC Holiday Card "Create"tions Blog Hop Week 1

Hello everyone! The Create with Connie and Mary Cards "Create"tions has come to the end of week 1. We are doing a blog hop at the end of each week to close the week out and give everyone a sneak peek of the set that we used during the week. You may have just come from Debbie's blog. She always has a beautiful project to inspire us all! For the end of week 1 we are showing you ways to use the Take-Out Boxes that are in the Holiday mini catalog. Here's what I did with mine!

I decided to cover my Take-Out Box with the Color me Autumn designer paper. I put adhesive all over my Take-Out Box and then adhered a sheet of designer paper to it. I cut off the excess designer paper. I folded on the score lines and cut on the lines that were cut (you can see these lines on the other side of the box). After the box was put together, I tied a piece of Blackberry Bliss stitched satin ribbon around the box. Then I made the tag:

  • I cut a piece of Whisper White at 2 1/2" x 3 1/2"
  • I cut the corners at an angle and flagged the bottom
  • Stamp the leaf image from For All Things onto the tag using Crushed Curry ink and then stamp the acorns onto the tag using Soft Suede ink
  • Punch a hole into the tag and tie it to the box using a piece of linen thread
  • Stamp the leaf image onto Whisper White using Cajun Craze ink and again using Mossy Meadow ink
  • Cut out the leaves and adhere to tag with dimensionals
  • Tie a piece of linen thread through a gold basic metal button and adhere to leaves

For All Things Swap

Good morning, Friends! I hope you all had a fantastic weekend! We ended up making last minute plans and going to Gunnison to see my husband's sister and her family. We got there Sunday and rode a pretty tough mountain bike trail and then Monday went up to Crested Butte and rode another fun trail! So beautiful up there!! I did a little wreck and tore up my leg pretty good but I can still walk fine and I can still ride! Just some cuts and bruises but time will heal that up. Today I have some training for school and then I need to go grocery shopping and get some laundry done and get some stamping done... I hope I can pack it all in!

Today's card was one I did for a swap I was in recently. I love this fall set! Such pretty images!

  • Stamp the leafy stem image from For All Things using Soft Suede ink
  • Run a piece of Crumb Cake through the Big Shot with the Woodgrain embossing folder and adhere to a piece of Soft Suede
  • Run a strip of Cajun Craze through the Big Shot using the Large Scallop edgelit and adhere to back of embossed panel
