More Pacific Point

Hello everyone! It's a sunny Saturday here but it is mighty cold this morning! We have two basketball games this afternoon. They are the last ones of the season. Parents are excited but son is very sad. He really loves playing basketball. But not to worry. He is still doing soccer and baseball tryouts are in two weeks! So parents will enjoy the little 'down' time that we have and son has something to be excited about! Ha!! Yes, it is going to get busy once again!! Secretly, though? Yea, I do love it, too!! :)

Today's card is more of my attempt to use up the Pacific Point. This card is super simple and very versatile. I found a similar layout like this on Splitcoast (although I think it can be found most everywhere). I got to use my texturz plates for the Big Shot. The 'friend' circle was punched with the large circle punch and the scallop behind that is one that I purchased at another store (gasp). But I wanted a scallop behind the circle and that's the only one that worked. Thanks for stopping by! I guess it's time for me to get more stamping done because I have used the last of my cards!! Yea!! Have a great weekend!

Unusual Color Combination

Hi Friends! I hope that your Friday is fantabulous! I know mine is going to be! It's half over and I am going to hang out and stamp with some friends this evening! Yeah!!! Teacher Appreciation week has been great! Only 5 more days until spring break!

Today's card is one that I found on Splitcoast. Remember me saying that I wanted to use up my Pacific Point paper and accessories? Well, as I was searching Splitcoast I found this card. The creator used flowers and leaves from a stamp set that she cut out. Yes, it was gorgeous but I was not up for so much cutting. Then I got the bright idea to use my new dies from Stampin' Up! The leaves are a die but the flowers are a die and an embosslit. Sorry that I don't know the correct terms/names for these. The color combination caught my attention as I would not have put these together. But I think they go quite nicely. And the other colors tone the Pacific Point down considerably. Anyway, I hope that you are inspired! Thanks for stopping by!

Urban Copy

Good afternoon my friends! I hope your Thursday is a special day for you! It is teacher appreciation week at our school and the PTF is doing a fantastic job of making me feel special this week! Today I found a package of 8 Recess Peanut Butter Cups in my mailbox!!! YUM! And I wonder why I can't lose any weight? Hmmmm. Anyway, I will have to eat them soon or my son will be digging into them. I just realized, too, that the strap on my shoe broke. Great. Now I will have to walk around without a shoe AND I have to take my son to soccer practice after school. I will have to sit in the car. UGH!

Anyway... Here is a card that makes me happy! I copied this card from the catalog. I just changed the frame and the words and maybe the flower, too. I absolutely loved the simplicity of the card and couldn't wait to try it! I got to use my new tags die for the Big Shot. Love those! But it didn't seem to stand out like I wanted it to so I stamped the word on the white and then punched that out with my large oval punch. I also sponged around the tag with Baja Breeze (it's hard to see in the photo). Thanks for stopping by and have a great day! The weekend is almost here!!!

True Blue Friend

Hello everyone! It's Wednesday! That means it's getting closer to the weekend! I need to stop wishing the days away as I am having a hard time with how fast time is going! But there are only 7 more days until spring break and I am looking forward to some play time. Actually, I plan on cleaning out my stamp room! I have too much stuff and I need to prioritize and throw away and organize and rearrange. I hope that I can get at least half of that done. And I will have to sneak in some play time as well.

Today's card is from an older sketch that I found on Splitcoast. Super simple! But I love how elegant it turned out. And so many possibilities! Give it a try! Thanks for stopping by!

Manhattan Swap

Good morning! I hope that you are having a lovely start to the week so far. The weather is making me sleepy but it is definitely looking and feeling a lot more like spring every day! This week is Teacher Appreciation week at our school. Yesterday the teachers got 20 minute massages! Yep! Loved that!! Could use that every day - Ha!! This morning we got bagels and tomorrow we are having a nice lunch made for us! Also, last night the PTF made dinner for us! YUM! We got spaghetti and meatballs and a dessert! It was really nice not to have to worry about what to make for dinner or have to do it all!! And, as I was telling my son this morning, only 9 more days until spring break!

Today's card was inspired by my friend Becky. She had made Valentine cards for her friends and I just thought it was so cute! I needed to get some swap cards in the mail and so I used her layout to come up with this card. I do like the way it turned out. Again, I do love this set! Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Pacific Birthday

Good Monday morning to you all! I made it back from Denver. The girls said they loved every minute of it! I think that is wonderful. As an adult? Well... I am just so glad that they loved it because it definitely is not for the old of heart! Everything is extremely loud and there are thousands of screaming teenagers! I did enjoy the speakers and the music but I would have preferred it to be not quite so loud. But you know teenagers! Anyway, it was a rude awakening to me as to how old I am and the gap in generations! I was glad to take the girls and I would do it again.

On to the card. Again, I was wanting some ideas on using my Pacific Point cardstock, ink and accessories. Here is one I came across. Pacific Point does look very striking against white. This card is super easy to put together and doesn't require a lot. I did use the texturz plate for the textured white background. I am really loving those! The three flowers are punched with the Three For You flower punch. Thanks for stopping by!

Pacific Friend

Good Sunday morning! At least I hope it is. Again, I am pre-posting. I will be home later today and tomorrow I will be back to posting live. It is too weird to post before the day actually comes.

Here is another card done with Pacific Point. I thought this card turned out rather nice. Not a lot to it. I hope that it inspires you! Thanks for stopping by!

Pacific Point

Hello Again! It is Saturday morning for you all (I hope). Yes, I am pre-posting so I hope this works. I am still in Denver. I will be home tomorrow. Not much to talk about since I am really typing this on Thursday night. Weird!

Anyway... I decided that I really needed to start using up my Pacific Point cardstock and accessories. I have almost used up my Baja Breeze but my Pacific Point has hardly been touched. So, I went on a mission to find cards with this color in it. I just can't figure out what to pair it up with. I thought this card turned out pretty nice. Yes, I cut out the flower and stem. But it really looks nice cut out. Again, I used my new texturz plates for the Big Shot. I use a thin piece of cardboard over my 'sandwich' to get a deeper impression. Love it!! Thanks for stopping by and thanks so much for all of your wonderful comments!! You all are the best! I really appreciate you looking at my creations!

Felt Flowers

Hello everyone! I am pre-posting this as I will be leaving in the morning and probably won't have time to get it up. I will also pre-post tomorrow's and Sunday's as well. It's finally Friday!!

This card is not one of my favorites. I did get inspiration from last month's Cards magazine. I don't know. It just didn't turn out like I had pictured in my head. I don't hate it but it's not my favorite. I did enjoy using my new texture plates for the Big Shot! Love those!! It is hard to see from the photo but they are there on the white piece. Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Close To My Heart Sketch

Hello everyone! I got so busy grading papers that I almost forgot to post! I have been so busy with other things that when I got a "free" moment I decided to grade. Then Emily passed me a note and that reminded me to get my post up. I am also going to try to remember to pre-post for the weekend. I am so excited that I have cards to post for the rest of this month!! Now if I can just stay caught up...

This card was inspired by a sketch from the Close To My Heart book. I really liked how the card turned out but I do wish now that I had made the black squares a little smaller. So, if you decide to use this sketch try it with the squares a little smaller and see how you like it. Again, I just LOVE this set - Fifth Avenue Floral! I hope you don't get sick of it!! Thanks for stopping by! I guess I better get back to grading! Have a great day!

Manhattan Birthday

Good Day everyone! It's Wednesday and that means the week is half over! Yea! Actually, for me it means that I only have one more day of school left for the week. On Friday I am going with a group of middle school girls to Denver to the Revolve Tour. I get to be a chaperon! I know that it sounds crazy to to be excited to go with a group of middle schoolers but these girls are just awesome! And, the other mothers that are going are some of my closest friends! So it will be great to spend time with them, too! The girls will be in one room and we adults will be in the other one right next to them. I am really looking forward to it!

This card is a close copy of others that have been done with this set. I have to admit that when I first saw this set I didn't like it. But then it started speaking to me. So, I bought it right away! And I am so glad I did!! I have been having so much fun with this set! It is so easy to use! Becky did a card very similar to this one and I just had to do it for stamp club. I think that everyone liked it too. Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Branching Out

Good day everyone! It's finally lunchtime! I am enjoying some leftover Olive Garden - YUM!! That always makes lunch time so much sweeter! I hope that you all are having a wonderful day!

Today's card is from a splitcoast sketch. It is an older one (I think) and it helped create this card. I did this card for stamp club this month and I thought it turned out very nice. I was able to use my new white ribbon. I really love that ribbon! It is very soft and elegant. A pretty simple card. I hope that you are inspired as well! Thanks for stopping by!!

Bella Bleu

Good Monday morning! Boy it looks cold outside! Glad I don't have to be at school today! By the way... Happy President's Day! A lot of people have this day off. Isn't it great?! Sleep in a little. Have as much coffee as I want. Stamp a little here and there. Only 14 more school days until Spring Break!! Anyway, I plan to have a great day despite the cold and the clouds!

Today's card layout is from a sketch I got at splitcoast. It is an older sketch but one that I hadn't really tried, yet. I did this card for my stamp club this month. I think it turned out really nice and the ladies seemed to like it. It is a pretty simple card. I hope that it inspires you as well! Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Praying For You

Good morning everyone! I hope you are starting your Sunday out sunny! How was your Valentine's day? We didn't do too much around here. Our son had a basketball game in the morning. Then we went home a 'vegged'. We decided to go to Olive Garden for dinner (our favorite place - Nick's too). We thought that we would be clever and try to beat the crowds by going at 4:30. Ha!! We still had an hour wait!! Oh well. The food is way worth it. And we had dessert, too!!! YUM!! But, that was all we did. My husband did get me some really beautiful red roses. They smell wonderful, too! He is my valentine!!

Enough mushy stuff. Let's look at the card. I took inspiration from last month's Cards magazine. I did not get this card right on the first try. Nor on the second. Nor on the third! I think that I took this card apart FOUR times! And, actually, on the last time my friend Becky did it for me as I was ready to give up and throw it all away! Thanks, Becky! I used a product called Un-du to take apart anything that I have glued together. It's a stamper's and a scrapbooker's best friend. It will not hurt your project in any way but it does smell like lighter fluid. So, I joke about how flammable this card is now! Trust me, though, this card does go together pretty easily. Thanks for stopping by!!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day everyone! It's kinda dreary around here. It is supposed to snow again. And then again and again throughout next week. No special plans around here. Our son has a basketball game this morning so that should be fun. But then I think we will eat an early dinner out somewhere. I say early so that we will beat the really huge crowds that will be gathering! My friend Becky loaned us the movie Mama Mia so we might watch that tonight. We'll see...

This is a card that I did at a shoebox club that I am in. We did it last month and I don't think that I posted it. If I did, my apologies. It is Valentine's day and I wanted to post something for the occasion. I know that you have seen the layout before. I really love the layout. It's a fun one for scraps. The rest is pretty self explanatory. Thanks for stopping by and hug the ones you love!

Let's Celebrate!

Good morning everyone! Well, it snowed again last night. Bummer. I am really looking forward to spring. I start looking forward to spring when the weather is sunny and warm. But around here that can happen and then the next day it snows. So, I shouldn't be surprised at the snow. Spring will come. Won't it? Anyway, this will be quick as I need to get myself back to school to help out at the speech meet. We should be done by lunch. Yea!!
I was inspired by something when I made this card but now I can't remember. I really liked the way it turned out! I used my new sizzlets little leaves die. The flowers are punched out with the Boho flower punch. The greeting is the only thing that is stamped. Too fun!! The designer paper I used is from the Parisian Breeze collection. It is some new designer paper that is a heavier weight and is textured. I just LOVE the colors in this pack. Thanks for stopping by!

True Friend

Good afternoon bloggers! Whew! I am so thankful that I have made it through the day so far. We will see what the afternoon does to me... We don't have school tomorrow (yea!!!!). So today we decided to have our Valentine party at school. Well, the have completely gone wild! And they are driving me to an early grave!!! I can not keep them under control! Anyway, I am sooooooo looking forward to this day being over! I have shoebox club tonight with some wonderful ladies and I can't wait!

Today's card layout is from a Close To My Heart book (one that they sell). I can't remember the name of it but it has bunches of sketches in it. I really liked how this card turned out. New stamp set is Simple Friendship (one of my new favorites) and new paper is Bella Birds. Coordinating colors for this paper are Pink Pirouette, Bordering Blue, Chocolate Chip and So Saffron. I also used Very Vanilla. Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Not My Favorite

Good morning everyone! It's Wednesday! We are in the middle of the work week - yea!!! And since we have Friday off, this is even closer to the end of my work week! I have a staff meeting very soon so I wanted to get this post up before I have to run off and officially start my day. Stamping makes me so happy! So, this is a great way for me to start my day.

This layout is one I got from Splitcoast Stampers. They have a new sketch that comes out every Wednesday but you can look at the file of all the old ones, too. This sketch is an old one but I wanted to give it a try. Well... it really didn't turn out as nice as I would have liked. But I thought I would post it anyway. Sometimes others find inspiration in a card I though was pukey. You won't hurt my feelings if you say that you don't like it. It was worth the try. I hope you all have a fantastic day!

Happy Everything!

Good morning bloggers! I thought I would get this post in early today. I seem to be caught up with everything at the moment. Hmmm. Am I missing something? Hope not! We have a lot of tests this week so that might be why I am caught up! Yea!!!

Today's card is one that I copied from the catalog. I loved this card ever since I got my new catalog. Again, while waiting for my new stamps to come I pulled out a Close To My Heart stamp set and tried to recreate it. Here's the result! I sort of like it! And the color combo is really great, too! I am looking forward to trying this card again with a new stamp set! Anyway, thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Great Friend

Hello everyone! Well today sure is gloomy and cold. The kids are outside for recess right now but I think that the sky could open up and start raining and that would bring the kids inside way to soon! I had lunch duty so I am eating my lunch while they are outside. Call me mean, but I locked the door so they can't come in until I say!! I want to eat in peace - thank you. But it is a short week for us so that keeps me smiling!

Today's card is copied from the catalog. I used stamps from other companies. I don't have any idea of where they came from but I thought they were pretty. The colors I used were Old Olive, Perfect Plum and Kraft. The ribbon is Pink Pirouette and the brad is from the filigree collection (I think). I also used the wide oval punch and some dimensionals! Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Pink Verve Butterfly

Good Sunday morning everyone! I am really excited as I have quite a batch of cards to show you! I think that I might actually be able to keep up with you all! Ha!! Spring is coming and that means another busy sports schedule. I do love it, though, and my son has commented that he really likes it all, too. It wears him out which is a good thing. And I have seen it help his concentration at school (and he needs all the help he can get!). The cards I will post in the next few days are ones I had made a few weeks ago while I was waiting for my new stuff. I was tired of using the same old stamps, so I pulled out some stamps that I had gotten from other companies. But keep checking back for some great new cards (and some so-so cards) using new Stampin' Up! products!

I used a card layout from the Stampin' Up! catalog. Of course I changed it a little but the layout is pretty much the same. And so simple! These stamps come from a company called Verve. They have clear stamps and I am loving those! You can check out their website - not sure what it is but just google verve and you should be able to find it. Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Sale-A-Bration Blocks

Hello everyone! I hope that your week is off to a great start! My son had his last indoor soccer game last night and it was really fun to watch! No, they didn't win any of their games but they were the youngest team out there. And they really held their own! They got in there and got aggressive and fought with all they had! Nothing like living your life as an adult vicariously through your children - Ha Ha!!!

Anyway, today's card is a layout I found on a blog somewhere. Again, something that you can do with scraps of paper to get them used up. And it is simple and extremely versatile. I hope that it inspires you! Thanks for stopping by!

Sale-A-Bration Heart

Good afternoon! It's been a while since I posted from school. I am usually busy with something else (and I have enough to do today) but I thought I would give myself a 'time out'.

This card layout is one I got from some one's website. I really liked how it used squares of paper. This is a great way to use up some of those scraps! This is another very versatile layout and one you will probably see a lot of! I used the same Sale-A-Bration set that I used on yesterday's card. There are actually two sets used on these cards. And I am still trying to get the names of those. The words come in a set all by themselves and are versatile. The colors used are Sahara Sand, So Saffron and Certainly Celery. These colors coordinate with the designer paper that is also available in the Sale-A-Bration catalog (Bashful Blue is the other coordinating color). Thanks for stopping by and have a great Monday!

Sale-A-Bration Flower

Good Superbowl Sunday morning to you all! Big plans? We do!! Since we had to buy a brand new BIG TV last month we decided we would have some friends of ours over to watch the game with us. So, my wonderful husband is cleaning the bathroom right now as I type. Isn't he the best? Yeah, I thought so, too!! I am doing the laundry as well. I am also trying to fight off a migraine. UGH! I had one on Friday, too.

Today's card is one that I did a while back. My friend Emily let me borrow her Sale-A-Bration stamp sets and paper. I came up with three and they all use this set. And I can't remember the name. That's bad. Sorry! If I find my brochure I will let you all know which set. I didn't end up ordering them because I don't do that many workshops anymore and I didn't want to end up having them on hand because I can't use them after it's all over. They are cute, though! I do love this layout. I think I got it from some one's blog. I will have to use this one again! It's all pretty simple. Since I can't remember the name of the stamp set, I will just let you know that I used So Saffron, Sahara Sand, and Bashful Blue colors. I hope that will help you as well. Nice soft colors! And spring like, too! Yea - Spring!!! Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!
