CCMC Saturday Blog Hop: Halloween Card - Haunt Ya Later!

Hello everyone and welcome to another Create with Connie and Mary Saturday blog hop! This week we are all making a Halloween card! I am your stop after the fabulous Debbie Henderson!

Halloween is one of my favorite holidays! I am not the gory kind of Halloween person but I love the cute Halloween images! And Stampin' Up! has some super cute Halloween stamp sets! Like this one, Haunt Ya Later. I love this set!! Here is a super simple card that I created for this hop with the help of the Freshly Made sketch!

  • Card base is Whisper White
  • Cover the front of the card base with a piece of Happy Haunting designer paper
  • On a piece of watercolor paper, stamp the cat image from the Haunt Ya Later stamp set with the Basic Black archival ink
  • Use a blender pen and Smoky Slate ink to color in the cat, Cucumber Crush for the eyes and Soft Sky for the "ground"
  • Stamp the greeting onto a strip of Tangelo Twist card stock and use the Washi Label punch on the ends of the strip
  • Adhere the strip to the top of the panel and adhere panel to card base using dimensionals
  • Thread a piece of linen thread through a silver basic metal button and adhere to card
Before I send you on to see what the fabulous Connie Babbert has created, I wanted to share a little snippet of what's to come in the next Create with Connie and Mary mini edition! You won't want to miss this!

But time is counting down and I am trying to take it one day at a time! Are you all ready for the weekend, too? I had to dig out my heavy winter coat yesterday. Ugh! It was so windy and so cold! Yuck! It's not much warmer right now but at least the wind isn't blowing!

Today's card is another we did at stamp club this month. It was inspired by the sketch at Freshly Made.

  • Card base is Crumb Cake
  • On another piece of Crumb Cake stamp the Dictionary background stamp using Crumb Cake ink and then sponge the edges using Crumb Cake ink
  • Stamp the splotches from Gorgeous Grunge using Tuxedo black Momento ink and the greeting from Guy Greetings using the same ink
  • Adhere the panel to the card base
  • Punch a strip of Basic Black using the Spiral border punch
  • Adhere a strip of Stacked with Love washi tape to the strip
  • Wrap a piece of linen thread around the strip three times and tie a knot then adhere to card

Good morning, Friends! Wow! What a crazy busy weekend! And now we have to get up and get ourselves ready for another week. Not fair - lol! We all could use a nice relaxing day but I guess we will get over it and get to work! Nick had his first mountain bike race yesterday! He did great! He rode almost 10 miles in just over an hour and most of it was a grueling uphill! Our of 70 riders, he came in 39th. It was really exciting! He has another one in two weeks! And this week we get to watch him in his first JV soccer game! Can't wait!!

Today's card was inspired by the sketch at Freshly Made.  I was in the mood to use some blendabilities.

Freshly Made 146

Good morning, Friends! I guess it rained yesterday. It seemed like it rained all over the valley except right here in Fruita. Ugh! It is supposed to rain again today and I hope Fruita gets the majority of it this time! We need it badly! We will be heading to the ranch today to see the family. So I hope it's cooler up there. I do love sitting out on the porch with the breeze blowing a bit and just watching the beautiful scenery! Wondering if I should take something to work on...

Today's card was inspired by the sketch at Freshly Made. Such a simple sketch. I love it! I will be using this one more often! So many possibilities! I thought that my card turned out to be more on the masculine side.

  • Card base is Sahara Sand
  • Stamp the splatter stamp from Gorgeous Grunge using Sahara Sand onto he card base
  • Adhere a strip of Moonlight designer paper to the card
  • Adhere a strip of Island Indigo to the card

  • Add three Sahara Sand candy dots

Freshly Made 131

Good morning, Friends! Well, what a surprise! A nice one, too! It's raining! We really need the rain. And it even thundered!! A spring storm! However, the mountains will be getting the snow and that's good, too! Things will really start to green up now. I guess it is supposed to get below freezing tonight and perhaps tomorrow night which isn't great for the fruit trees around here. So I hope that their crops aren't affected too much. I do love the peaches!! I will be meeting Becky for some brunch and then it's off to a full day of stitching! I haven't done that in a long time so that will be nice! Maybe I can get something done.

Today's card was inspired by the sketch at Freshly Made. I am always trying to think of ways to incorporate the new foil designer vellum. Love that stuff! And I think today's card really goes with the weather outside right now - lol!

  • Card base is Very Vanilla
  • Adhere a piece of Very Vanilla to card base with dimensionals
  • Adhere a strip of gold foil designer vellum to layer
  • Make a tag from Very Vanilla card stock by cutting off the top corners and flagging the bottom and then punching a hole at the top
  • Stamp the sentiment from Rain or Shine onto the tag using Basic Gray ink and the umbrella handle in Basic Gray
  • Thread a piece of gold twine through the hole and tie a knot
  • Punch a strip of gold foil card stock using the dotted scallop ribbon border punch and then adhere to right side of tag then adhere tag to card with dimensionals
  • Stamp the umbrella top onto a piece of Very Vanilla card stock using Calypso Coral ink and cut out then adhere to card with dimensionals
  • Punch a flower from Soft Sky using the itty bitty shapes punch pack and adhere to umbrella top
  • It's hard to tell from the photo, but for the flower center I adhered a gold sequin and then a pearl on top
There you have it! Have a super day and thanks for stopping by!

Freshly Made 128

Good morning, everyone! What a gorgeous day is in store for us here on the Western Slope! Yesterday turned out to be chilly and windy and a bit rainy. It didn't rain enough to make a difference but every now and then it did spit enough to make it cold. But today is different! Woohoo! Love spring! My guys are going on a mountain bike ride today. I will be watching some basketball (two of my teams will be playing today) and I hope to stamp some. Having the sun shine outside gets me motivated to do something! :)

Today's card was inspired by the sketch at Freshly Made. I also used some inspiration from a card that my friend Becky made!

  • Card base is Crisp Cantaloupe
  • On a piece of Whisper White I stamped the leaf image from Peaceful Petals in black StazOn twice and colored them in with a Pistachio Pudding marker and outlined the image with a Soft Sky marker
  • Stamp the greeting in black StazOn
  • Adhere a piece of Sweet Sorbet designer paper to the bottom part of the panel
  • Adhere panel to a piece of Basic Black
  • Adhere a strip of Basic Black to the front of the panel and tie a piece of Crisp Cantaloupe twine from the Sweet Sorbet accessory pack around it
  • Adhere panel to card with dimensionals
  • Stamp the flower image onto a piece of Whisper White with black StazOn and color image in with Crisp Cantaloupe, Summer Starfruit and Pistachio Pudding markers
  • Cut image out and adhere to card with dimensionals (you may have to trim the stem of the flower off so it doesn't show)
  • Add a rhinestone
Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Card Recipe: Stamps- Peaceful Petals; Paper- Crisp Cantaloupe, Basic Black, Whisper White, Sweet Sorbet designer paper; Ink- black StazOn, Pistachio Pudding, Crisp Cantaloupe, Summer Starfruit, Soft Sky; Accessories- Sweet Sorbet accessory pack, rhinestone, dimensionals

Good morning, Friends! It's Friday!! Woohoo!! I took some alka-seltzer last night to try to kick this head cold in the butt. And now I think it is trying to kick my butt this morning. Boy am I all plugged up!! Yuck! I slept in a little to try to sleep off the medicine. Still groggy but I hope a shower and coffee will get it out of my system. No time to rest this weekend! Nick has a basketball tournament. He has a game tonight and tomorrow morning - early. Should be fun!!

Today's card was created some time ago using the sketch from Freshly Made. Not my favorite but I thought I would post it anyway. It is very simple!!

  • Card base is So Saffron
  • Layer three strips of the Retro Fresh designer paper onto a piece of Baked Brown Sugar and then adhere to card
  • Use the Chevron punch to punch the chevrons from Tangerine Tango
  • Adhere the chevrons to the card
  • Stamp the sentiment from Geometrical onto a strip of Very Vanilla using Baked Brown Sugar and flag the end
  • Add three mini brads to other end and adhere to card with dimensionals

Freshly Made 123

Good morning, Friends! I hope your week has started off super! We are having the most gorgeous days! I love it! I can open the windows and enjoy the fresh air and sunshine as I stamp during the day! We are supposed to get some rain today and later this week but that makes it feel even more like spring! It definitely is coming! Nick has officially started soccer practices and our first game over the mountains is Sunday. I do hope that the weather in the mountains holds up so that we will have decent roads!

Today's card was inspired by a sketch at Freshly Made. It was a few week's ago and I thought it would be fun to use my Geometrical set.

  • Card base is Baked Brown Sugar
  • On a layer of Very Vanilla, stamp the greeting from Geometrical in Baked Brown Sugar
  • Adhere a piece of Retro Fresh washi tape to across the top and two brads under the greeting then adhere panel to card
  • Stamp the triangle images onto a piece of Very Vanilla with Coastal Cabana, Baked Brown Sugar, So Saffron and Tangerine Tango then punch out with the triangle punch
  • Adhere triangles to card with dimensionals
Super simple especially with the triangle punch! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Good morning, Friends! I hope your week is off to a great start! It's a very cold start around here!! At this rate it will take quite a while for all this snow to melt off! At least the sun is supposed to shine. It's a busy week for us around here but today and tonight I have some time to catch up - laundry, stamping and wrapping a few presents! Lots to get done in the next two weeks!

Today's card was inspired by the sketch at Freshly Made. It's their sketch from last week. Here are the details:

  • Card base is Baked Brown Sugar
  • Layer of Old Olive that was run through the Big Shot using the Stylish Stripes embossing folder and then strips of Season of Style washi tape are adhered to the panel between embossed lines (a little hard to see)
  • Adhere this panel to a piece of Cherry Cobbler and then adhere to card base
  • Make a tag from Whisper White by flagging the bottom and rounding the top with the 1 3/4" circle punch then punch a hole in the top
  • Stamp the gifts image from Wishing You using Baked Brown Sugar, Old Olive and Cherry Cobbler markers
  • Thread some Cherry Cobbler seam binding ribbon through the hole and tie together using Cherry Cobbler baker's twine then adhere tag to card with dimensionals
  • Stamp greeting in Cherry Cobbler onto Whisper White and punch out with the extra large oval punch and adhere to card
And there you have it! Thanks for stopping by and I hope you all have a fantastic day!

Freshly Made 101

Good morning, Friends! Wow! August flew by and here we are at September! I can't believe that at the end of this month my son will be starting basketball practice with the school! We have barely started soccer! One day at a time!! Thankfully we get to enjoy a long weekend. Nick is staying with a friend as his friend's birthday was yesterday. We will see him again on Monday. I feel like it's our birthday as we have a nice quiet weekend at home - lol! My husband and I even went out for dinner last night. That was fun and very tasty! We slept in this morning. Guess we will see what the day brings!

Today's card was inspired by the sketch at Freshly Made. I was in a grungy fall mood so this is what I created! Here are the details:

  • Card base is Crumb Cake
  • Stamp the slanted lines image from Gorgeous Grunge in Crumb Cake and the other lines image in Crushed Curry
  • On a layer of Crumb Cake stamp the splotches in Crumb Cake and then sponge the panel with Crumb Cake and adhere to card
  • Use the Autumn Accents die to cut two leaves - one from Crumb Cake and the other from the Sweater Weather designer paper
  • Run the leaves through the Big Shot using the Woodgrain embossing folder
  • Sponge both leaves with Crumb Cake and the add a few splotches with the Crumb Cake ink
  • Adhere leaves together
  • On the back of the leaves, adhere some linen thread by looping it around so that it extends beyond the leaves and then adhere to card with dimensionals
  • Stamp greeting from Four You onto a strip of Sweater Weather designer paper using Chocolate Chip ink and adhere to card
  • Tie some linen thread through a Naturals designer button and adhere to card
Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Freshly Made 91

Good morning, Friends! I hope you all had a great weekend! Yesterday was very nice for me! I did manage to get a few cards made and a swap finished up ready to mail. Seemed like it took me a while to get my cards made. My mojo wasn't coming together as quickly as I would have liked. And it sounds like my guys had a great time fishing! They even caught a few! Now here we are at another Monday and it's time to get some things done around the house. More laundry! Ugh!!

Today's card was inspired by the sketch at Freshly Made. I ended up turning it on it's side. And I like how it turned out! It seems like when the new In Colors come out that the other colors get a little neglected. So I found a color combination using Raspberry Ripple. Here are the card details:

  • Card base is Crumb Cake
  • Layer of Crumb Cake that has splotches stamped from Gorgeous Grunge in Crumb Cake and then sponged with Crumb Cake
  • Punch a strip of Raspberry Ripple with the scallop edge border punch and adhere to back of layer
  • Cut leaves from Old Olive using Little Leaves sizzlet
  • Stamp flower from Flower Shop in Raspberry Ripple onto Whisper White and punch out with Pansy punch
  • Adhere leaves to back of flower and pop up onto layer
  • Stamp sentiment from Petite Pairs in Raspberry Ripple onto layer and then pop layer up onto card
  • Punch a flower from Pink Pirouette with Boho Blossoms punch, adhere to flower center and add a rhinestone
  • Fold a length of Pink Pirouette taffeta ribbon in half, thread white baker's twine through a vintage faceted button and around the ribbon and tie a bow
  • Trim ribbon to desired length and adhere to card
And there you have it! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Card Recipe: Stamps- Flower Shop, Petite Pairs, Gorgeous Grunge; Paper- Crumb Cake, Old Olive, Raspberry Ripple, Pink Pirouette; Ink- Crumb Cake, Raspberry Ripple; Accessories- Pink Pirouette taffeta ribbon, white baker's twine, vintage faceted button, Boho Blossoms punch, Pansy punch, Little Leaves sizzlet, scallop edge border punch, rhinestone, sponge, dimensionals

Freshly Made 86

Good morning, Friends! I hope your weekend is going well! The soccer tournament is not going the way we would have liked (or thought it would) but that is sports for ya. The boys have one more game today and then we will come home and try to forget all about it - lol! Yesterday the games were delayed due to lightning in the area. So that made things very interesting! And now the weather has turned pretty cool. Forecast shows more thunderstorms about the time we are supposed to play. We will see... Only three more days of school left and Nick is really looking forward to that!

Today's card was inspired by the sketch at Freshly Made. I decided to use the single stamp Boutique Blossom which is still available till July 31! I really like this big bold flower! I adhered a piece of Tea for Two designer paper to the bottom of a piece of Very Vanilla and then tied a piece of Early Espresso stitched grosgrain ribbon around it. This panel is adhered to a piece of Early Espresso that was punched along the bottom with the scallop edge border punch. This panel is popped up onto a card base of Very Vanilla. I stamped the flower onto Very Vanilla in Calypso Coral and Old Olive (for the stem) and then again in So Saffron (for the center). I cut these out. The flower center is adhered to the flower and then popped up onto the card. I stamped the sentiment from Sweet Essentials in Early Espresso and then used the Essentials paper piercing pack to pierce a line of holes along the bottom. Finally I added a few pearls to the flower center. Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

FMS 81

Good morning, Friends! Wellll... It snowed last night! About four inches!! Ugh! Yes, we need the moisture and that's what I have to keep telling myself. But it is so cold and it is supposed to be colder tonight. I didn't want to get out from under the blankets. Nick's track meet went great yesterday even though it was cold and wet! Thankfully, it didn't downpour or anything like that. And Nick did great! He had some great competition this time and rose to the occasion! And it is just fun to watch all these kids! As for today, I do hope to accomplish some stamping and then have some leisure time for sewing. I haven't done that in a while and am anxious to get something done!!

Today's card was inspired by last week's sketch at Freshly Made. I made this card for a swap I was in for this month. I stamped the sentiment from Thoughts and Prayers in black StazOn on a piece of Very Vanilla and added two silver brads. This panel is adhered to a card base of Very Vanilla. Then I took a piece of Naturals Composition specialty designer paper and adhered it to a piece of Basic Black that was punched along the bottom with the scallop trim punch. I tied a piece of Very Vanilla seam binding around this and popped the panel up onto the card. I punched a circle from Very Vanilla with the 2 1/2" circle punch and stamped the tree image in black StazOn. I sponged the edges in Crumb Cake and popped the circle up onto the card. I used the Beautiful Wings embosslit to cut some butterflies from Calypso Coral. I used the smallest butterfly and adhered it to the card and added a tiny pearl. Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Card Recipe: Stamps- Thoughts and Prayers; Paper- Very Vanilla, Basic Black, Calypso Coral, Naturals Composition specialty designer paper; Ink- black StazOn, Crumb Cake; Accessories- Very Vanilla seam binding ribbon, scallop trim border punch, 2 1/2" circle punch, silver brads, pearl, sponge, dimensionals

Freshly Made 79

Good morning, Friends! Wow! It's April already! And the weather seems to be finally cooperating! It should be getting nice and warm this week! I do hope that there will be some great spring storms but the outlook for the month does not look good for that. Bummer. Nick's schedule will get really busy now but that will just make the rest of the school year go by that much faster! Pat starts back to work full time and I will need to keep everyone's schedule in order so that we get to where we are supposed to be - lol!! Now to make sure that I am not fooled by a certain 13 year old today...

Today's card was inspired by the sketch challenge at Freshly Made. I haven't pulled this stamp set out in quite a while. I adhered a strip of Wisteria Wonder designer paper with the end flagged to a piece of Naturals Ivory. A strip of Lucky Limeade was punched with the dotted ribbon scallop punch and adhered over that. Then I tied a piece of Wisteria Wonder ruffled ribbon around this and popped the panel up onto a card base of Naturals Ivory. Then I stamped the image from Apothecary Art in black StazOn onto a piece of Naturals Ivory. I used the stamp-a-ma-jig to help me place the sentiment and stamped that in black StazOn. Then I fussy cut the image out. The image is then colored with a blender pen using Lucky Limeade and Wisteria Wonder inks. I layered this onto a piece of Basic Black that was cut using the Labels framelits dies and then popped this up onto the card. I added pearls to the flower centers. Good morning, Friends! I thought that spring was here! What happened? Oh my goodness it is SO cold right now! And there's talk of snow? Ugh! Spring break has officially begun but it doesn't feel like it. I hope that it will warm up next week. And my flowers were starting to peek up out of the ground! I will be staying warm today, though. I am excited to be going to an all day stitching! Today is Breakfast Club at Laura's Home and that means a great day to work on stitching! She is also having her open house today! Can't wait to see all the wonderful things she will be offering this quarter!

Today's card was inspired by the sketch at Freshly Made. A wonderful simple sketch! A piece of Tea for Two designer paper was punched with the scallop trim punch and adhered to a card base of Very Vanilla. Then I took another piece of Very Vanilla and punched the flower using the Blossom punch. I sponged the edges of the flower using Calypso Coral ink and then stamped the sentiment from Friendly Phrases in Early Espresso. I tied a piece of Calypso Coral ruffled ribbon around this and popped the panel up onto the card base. I like to make sure that I get plenty of dimensionals right around the flower so that it really stays popped up. Then I took some linen thread and a vintage faceted button and created loops using glue dots to help hold everything in place. This is adhered to the flower center. Thanks for stopping by and have a fabulous day!

FMS 76 & PPA 154

Good morning, Friends! I hope your weekend is going swell! Nick had the day off yesterday so he was able to hook up with a friend and have some fun! I then was able to get some sewing and stamping done. Loved that! Especially since the weather turned icky. Today is more of the same weather wise. So thankful that the mountains are getting snow! And I love the rain! Spring is really here!! Still a little cooler than I'd like but it's not snowing - lol!! Today will be a very nice day to do more sewing and stamping!

Today's card was inspired by two challenges! The sketch at Freshly Made and the color challenge at Pals Paper Arts. I wasn't sure about these colors but the design team has such beautiful cards that I wanted to try it myself. And I am glad I did! I do like the way this came out! I adhered a piece of Crumb Cake to a piece of Calypso Coral designer paper and then tied a piece of Calypso Coral ruffled ribbon around it. This is then adhered to a card base of Calypso Coral. I punched three pieces of Crumb Cake with the Postage Stamp punch from Crumb Cake and sponged the edges with Crumb Cake. These are adhered to squares of Calypso Coral that were punched with the 1 3/8" square punch. I popped these up onto the card. Below the squares I stamped the greeting from Tea Shoppe in Raspberry Ripple. On a scrap of Very Vanilla I stamped the tea cups in Calypso Coral and cut them out. These are popped up onto the squares. I used the Itty Bitty punch pack to punch flowers from Raspberry Ripple and adhered them to each tea cup. A pearl is added to each flower center. FMS 75

Good morning everyone! What a beautiful day we will be having today! The sun is out and it is supposed to get warm - yea!!! Nick has a soccer scrimmage today and tomorrow. It will be nice to be outdoors again and I am looking forward to the soccer season! I have finally gotten my quilt basted together and started quilting it. I hope I can find some time this weekend to keep up with that. Other than that it will be a nice weekend!

Today's card was inspired by the sketch at Freshly Made. It was a super clean and simple one and I need something to jump start my mojo. This was definitely it! I loved how this one turned out even though it was so simple!! But the colors are so bright and fun! I punched a strip of Rich Razzleberry with the dotted ribbon scallop punch and adhered it to the back of a piece of Sycamore Street designer paper. A piece of Rich Razzleberry stitched grosgrain ribbon was tied around it and then the panel was popped up onto a card base of Pool Party. Then I stamped the greeting from Perfectly Penned onto Whisper White in Rich Razzleberry. I flagged one end and added two silver brads to the other. This is then popped up onto the card. Easy!! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

FMS 73

Good morning, Friends! I was really upset that I didn't get this card posted yesterday as I had it done. I just didn't have it photographed. I don't like using my light tent anymore as the photos just don't come out as good as I think they should. I like to take my photos in the afternoon by the window and the natural light really makes everything come out better! But I forgot to take the photo on Sunday. Sunday was a very weird day. Anyway, I tried to take the photo yesterday as the sun was coming up in the morning but that wasn't any good either. It just has to be early afternoon. So no post yesterday. But that's they way it all goes!

Today's card was inspired by the sketch at Freshly Made. And because I didn't get my post up yesterday, I am too late to enter it in the challenge. Oh well. I hope you all will still enjoy it! I took a piece of Naturals Ivory and cut a 3" circle using the die. Then I sponged Baja Breeze ink around the edges and stamped the coral image from By the Tide in Not Quite Navy. This is adhered to a card base of Naturals Ivory. Then I flagged one end of a strip of Not Quite Navy and adhered this to the card. I stamped the greeting from Teeny Tiny Wishes in Not Quite Navy onto a strip of Naturals Ivory and flagged one end before adhering it to the other strip. Then I stamped the shell in Baja Breeze onto a scrap of Naturals Ivory and cut it out. This is popped up onto the card. I added a silver button with some linen thread tied through it. Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Freshly Made 71

Good morning everyone! It felt so good to sleep in this morning! Nick spent the night at a friend's and Pat is out of town so that meant I had the house all to myself! I watched basketball games and stitched and ate junk food - lol! Today Nick has a basketball game and then we will come home to watch the Super Bowl! I don't really care who wins but I like to see the commercials!

Today's card was inspired by the sketch at Freshly Made. So many possibilities with this one!! For my card I made a tag from Basic Grey card stock by rounding the top with the 2 1/2" circle punch and flagging the bottom. Then I punched two strips of Real Red with the dotted ribbon scallop border punch. I adhered these to the back of a piece of More Amore designer paper and then to the tag. The tag is popped up onto a card base of Naturals Ivory. To the top of the tag I added a piece of Victoria crochet trim that was tied with some linen thread and an antique brad. Then I carefully cut a Real Red doily heart from the More Amore designer paper and popped it up onto the card. I added a greeting from Teeny Tiny Wishes that was stamped in Basic Grey onto a strip of Naturals Ivory and flagged one end. Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!!
