Smoky Camera

Good morning, Friends! Well, I am safely home! I got home yesterday early afternoon after a very scary drive home over the mountains. Snowy, snow packed, icy, and the wind blowing the snow all over that made visibility very low. Ugh! So I am thankful to be home! Today will be laundry day and probably some grocery shopping. I also need to get some stamping done. I have a new stamp set to play with that we got at the Catalog Premier Party! Can't wait to do something with it! Lots of fun stuff in the new catty!

Today's card was inspired by one I had pinned a while ago. Super simple and clean!

  • Card base is Very Vanilla
  • Stamp the greeting from Peachy Keen onto a piece of Very Vanilla using Calypso Coral and round the top corners with the corner rounder
  • Use the scallop edge border punch to punch a strip of Coastal Cabana and adhere to back of stamped panel and then adhere to card with dimensionals
  • Stamp camera image in Smoky Slate and cut out
  • Adhere camera to an Essentials Wooden Element and then adhere to card
  • Add a large rhinestone to camera lens
Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Today's card was inspired by the sketch at Retro Sketches. I thought my card was almost too simple but I really kind of like it this way. I wasn't sure how I was going to put these together but I like my end result! Here are the details:

Stamp Review Crew: Six-Sided Sampler

Hello everyone! Welcome to another blog hop from the Stamp Review Crew! For this hop we are featuring projects that use the Six-Sided Sampler stamp set! If you came from Holly's blog then you are on the right track. If you are just starting here that's just fine, too! And if you get lost, you can always click the image at the top of this post to take to you to the home page to get a list of all the blog participants. Please note that Monday is the official hop day so some links may not be working until then. Thank you for your patience!

I made a very simple card for today's hop. I love this stamp set and its coordinating punch! It makes using the set very simple! I also took a color scheme from Color Throwdown from a month ago. The colors are Tangerine Tango, Basic Gray and Pear Pizzazz (I substituted Pear Pizzazz for Certainly Celery)

This layout was inspired by a card that my friend Becky did for our shoebox club a few months ago. I did changed it up a bit .

  • Card base is Basic Gray
  • A piece of Tangerine Tango is adhered to the card base
  • Tie a piece of Basic Gray stitched grosgrain ribbon around a panel of Whisper White
  • On another piece of Whisper White, stamp the hexagon shapes from Six-Sided Sampler in Tangerine Tango and Pear Pizzazz and punch out using the hexagon punch
  • Adhere the hexagon shapes to the Whisper White panel (three are adhered flat and two are adhered with dimensionals)
  • Stamp the greeting with Basic Gray and then adhere panel to card with dimensionals

CCMC Card "Create"tions Week 3 Favor

Hello everyone! Well, the Create with Connie and Mary Card "Create"tions edition has come to the end of week 3. This was it! What a fun edition! And SO many amazing ideas! I hope you didn't miss it! You can still sign up and view all the card sets and download each tutorial!!! Just sayin'… ;)

So at the end of each week during the edition, each designer shares a little favor with everyone that features the stamp set that was used during that week. This past week I used the Peachy Keen set! What a fun set with coordinating paper, washi tape, framelits, oh my! So I decided to make a frame. All of the products in the suite seemed to say "frame" - lol!

This is actually pretty easy to put together! I bought a plain frame from a craft store and covered it with strips of Retro washi tape! How fun is that!! And so easy! Then I decorated with stamps from the Peachy Keen set and the coordinating On Film framelits. I also used the circle and starburst framelits, too. The heart comes from the Essentials Wooden Elements and the camera has a large rhinestone for the lens. I thought this frame would be fun for two pictures and that's why I cut two frames. I was thinking along the lines of those small school pictures! Or how about cute pictures of you and your friends?! Whatever your imagination can create!

Don't forget to see what the other designers made! You can find their creations at Create with Connie and Mary! Thanks so much for stopping by and for your wonderful comments on my card sets! I really appreciate it! I hope you have gotten lots of great ideas these last three weeks! Have a super day!

Card Recipe: Stamps- Peachy Keen; Paper- Baked Brown Sugar, Very Vanilla, Coastal Cabana; Ink- Coastal Cabana, Tangerine Tango, So Saffron; Accessories- On Film framelits, Retro Fresh washi tape, Circles framelits, Starburst framelits, Essentials Wooden Elements, large rhinestone, dimensionals

Today's card was another one that I did with my stamp club this month. I wanted to show off some of the beautiful vellum that we sell as well as some of the other gold products.

  • Card base is Very Vanilla
  • Adhere a piece of the gold designer vellum to another piece of Very Vanilla

Wetlands Birthday

Good morning, Friends! Well, my son is home again today :( His allergies are still really bad. He has had quite a time with them since Sunday. I do hope he gets better soon!! I hate it when he's sick but I hate it more when he falls behind in school! And Thursday is Parent/Teacher conferences. He only has 6 more weeks of school. Hopefully today he will start to feel much better…

For today's card I borrowed a set from my friend Emily. I only made two cards with it but it is a really great set! I love it! And I may have to put it on my next order! This card didn't turn out quite like I had planned but it will work.

  • Card base is Crumb Cake
  • On a piece of Naturals Ivory, stamp the wheat stalk from Wetlands in Crushed Curry
  • On a scrap piece of Naturals Ivory, stamp the goose in black StazOn and color him with a blender pen and Crumb Cake, Chocolate Chip, Always Artichoke and Crushed Curry markers(I also used a white chalk marker for the spot on his neck)
  • Cut out the goose and grass and adhere to panel with dimensionals

  • Wrap some linen thread around panel three times and then adhere to card with dimensionals
  • Use the Decorative Label punch to punch the shape from Chocolate Chip and adhere to card with dimensionals
  • Stamp the greeting in black StazOn onto Naturals Ivory and punch out with the oval punch then adhere to label

Raspberry Silhouettes

Good morning, Friends! Brrrr!!! I was enjoying the warmer temperatures and now we are below freezing again. Ugh! I just hope that it wasn't too bad for our fruit farmers. It looks like it could be another cold one tonight, too. And then it's supposed to warm up. At least the sun is shining today after a great day of rain yesterday! I have to get my stuff ready for stamp club tonight. I'm looking forward to a great time with the club ladies!

For today's card I pulled out some stamps and colors that I haven't used in a while. Raspberry Ripple will be retiring at the end of May. I really do like this color and used it a lot when it first came out. And Summer Silhouettes is still one of my favorite stamp sets but it got pushed back on the shelf when the Occasions mini came out. So it was nice to work with them again!

  • Card base is Crumb Cake with the bottom right hand corner rounded with the 1" circle punch
  • On a layer of Crumb Cake, round the bottom right had corner with the 1" circle punch
  • Stamps the border image from Summer Silhouettes in Crumb Cake across the bottom
  • Stamp the stems in Old Olive (I had to use a Post-It to mask off the border so that my stem would not stamp where I didn't want it - lol)
  • Stamp the flower tops in Raspberry Ripple
  • Cut a scallop border from Raspberry Ripple card stock using the Tasteful Trim die and adhere to stamped panel
  • Stamp the greeting from Sweet Essentials in black StazOn
  • Wrap a piece of silver twine around the panel twice and secure on the back (I use scotch tape)
  • Adhere panel to card with dimensionals
  • Thread a piece of silver twine through a Basic Metal button and tie a bow on the back side of the button and adhere to card with glue dots
  • Cut a butterfly from Pink Pirouette card stock using the Beautiful Wings embosslit and adhere to card
  • Add a small pearl to butterfly
Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Freshly Made 131

Good morning, Friends! Well, what a surprise! A nice one, too! It's raining! We really need the rain. And it even thundered!! A spring storm! However, the mountains will be getting the snow and that's good, too! Things will really start to green up now. I guess it is supposed to get below freezing tonight and perhaps tomorrow night which isn't great for the fruit trees around here. So I hope that their crops aren't affected too much. I do love the peaches!! I will be meeting Becky for some brunch and then it's off to a full day of stitching! I haven't done that in a long time so that will be nice! Maybe I can get something done.

Today's card was inspired by the sketch at Freshly Made. I am always trying to think of ways to incorporate the new foil designer vellum. Love that stuff! And I think today's card really goes with the weather outside right now - lol!

  • Card base is Very Vanilla
  • Adhere a piece of Very Vanilla to card base with dimensionals
  • Adhere a strip of gold foil designer vellum to layer
  • Make a tag from Very Vanilla card stock by cutting off the top corners and flagging the bottom and then punching a hole at the top
  • Stamp the sentiment from Rain or Shine onto the tag using Basic Gray ink and the umbrella handle in Basic Gray
  • Thread a piece of gold twine through the hole and tie a knot
  • Punch a strip of gold foil card stock using the dotted scallop ribbon border punch and then adhere to right side of tag then adhere tag to card with dimensionals
  • Stamp the umbrella top onto a piece of Very Vanilla card stock using Calypso Coral ink and cut out then adhere to card with dimensionals
  • Punch a flower from Soft Sky using the itty bitty shapes punch pack and adhere to umbrella top
  • It's hard to tell from the photo, but for the flower center I adhered a gold sequin and then a pearl on top
There you have it! Have a super day and thanks for stopping by!

CCMC Card "Create"tions Week 2 Favor

Good morning, Friends! The Create with Connie and Mary Cards "Create"tions has come to the end of week 2! Wow! I hope that you are a subscriber and have seen these amazing card sets! If you aren't a subscriber then why not join today? You can still enjoy all the projects that have been shared so far and download the tutorials! At the end of each week, the designers share a little favor using the set that was used during the Cards edition. This past week I used the Blooming with Kindness set. I don't own this set so I borrowed it from a friend. So the only way to see any cards that I have made with this set is to be a subscriber! (I do think that I have shared one card made with this set)

This week I made a tea bag holder.

I won't go into a lot of detail as to how I put it together. I used the directions from the Splitcoast Stampers website. And I do wish that I had prettier tea bags to put into the slots but all I had was the Lipton yellow tea bags. But I think you get the idea :) I used Basic Gray, Primrose Petals and Pink Pirouette card stock and Primrose Petals and Basic Gray ink. The tea bag holder is held closed by a piece of Primrose Petals stitched satin ribbon. I used a piece of the silver foil designer vellum for the inside of the holder and silver twine for the spine of the holder.

I enjoyed making this sweet little gift! I thought any of the sentiments would work for this project! I kept thinking about Sheldon Cooper from The Big Bang Theory when he always says to his friends in distress "Can I offer you a hot beverage?" Love that show!! Anyway, there you have it! Be sure to stop by the Create with Connie and Mary website to see all the treats that the other designers have created! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

CCMC 298

Good morning, Friends! It's Thursday and time for another fabulous challenge from Create with Connie and Mary! This week we have a fantastic color challenge! Take a look at these gorgeous colors!

Tangerine Tango, Daffodil Delight and Gumball Green! Ahhh! A perfect spring color combination!! Here's my card:

I actually used a lot of white space but I think that these bright colors really pop against it!

  • Card base is Whisper White
  • Take a piece of Whisper White and the Circle framelits and cut a circle into the Whisper White piece that goes off the edge
  • Use a corner rounder to round the top left hand corner
  • Run a piece of Daffodil Delight card stock through the Big Shot using the Decorative Dots embossing folder (I just realized that you can't get this folder until the new catalog is unveiled. But you can use any other embossing folder!)
  • Adhere the embossed piece to the back of the Whisper White panel then adhere to card base with dimensionals
  • Stamp the greeting from Four You in black StazOn onto a strip of Whisper White and flag the end then adhere to card with dimensionals
  • Stamp the flower image from Petite Petals in Tangerine Tango onto Tangerine Tango card stock and punch out with the Petite Petals punch then punch out another flower from Tangerine Tango
  • Adhere the two flowers together with a glue dot
  • Cut a stem from Gumball Green card stock with the Little Leaves sizzlet
  • Cut the stem apart and adhere to back of flower then adhere flower to card with dimensionals
  • Add a Daffodil Delight candy dot to flower center

Washi Flower Shop

Good morning, Friends! It was really hard to get up this morning! I'm so glad that we are on the downhill side to the weekend! I really need to focus today and get some stamping done. I did a little yesterday but lost motivation. Can't let that happen today! I tried a new workout yesterday and now I am really sore so maybe I will let my body rest by doing some stamping - lol!

For today's card I wanted to use some of the new washi tape. I got it recently and haven't used it much. I also used last week's colors from Color Throwdown.

  • Card base is Very Vanilla
  • Stamp the splatter stamp from Gorgeous Grunge onto the card base with gold ink
  • Adhere two strips of the Watercolor Wonder washi tape vertically and two horizontally
  • Stamp the greeting from Four You in black StazOn
  • Stamp the flower image onto Pool Party using Pool Party ink and punch out using the Pansy punch
  • Cut two stems from Old Olive using the Little Leaves sizzlet
  • Adhere the stems to the back of two flowers and then adhere them to the card
  • Adhere third flower to card with dimensionals
  • Punch three flowers from Daffodil Delight using the itty bitty shapes punch pack and adhere to flower centers
  • Add three Basic Black candy dots to flower centers
Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Flat and Fabulous

Good morning, Friends! I hope your week is off to a fabulous start! It's been hard having to get up early after having spring break! I do love having the routine and having the house back to myself again, though! Seems like I can get a lot more done! March Madness was a lot of fun this year! And last night's game was really exciting! I am looking forward to seeing the Women's final game, too!

Today's card was one that I did for a swap I was in recently. It was the Control Freaks swap and the theme was Flat and Fabulous. Our hostess wanted cards that could be mailed without extra postage but still have the "wow" factor. And this is the card that I came up with!

  • Card base is Crisp Cantaloupe
  • Adhere a piece of Pool Party to card base
  • Adhere a piece of Basic Black to card
  • Stamp the Hardwood background stamp onto a piece of Sahara Sand using Sahara Sand ink and then adhere to card
  • Flag both ends of a strip of Basic Black and adhere to card
  • Flag one end of a small strip of Crisp Cantaloupe and adhere to card
  • Punch a circle from Whisper White using the 2 1/2" circle punch
  • Use the Essentials paper piercing pack to pierce just inside the circle
  • Stamp the greeting from Petite Pairs in black StazOn then adhere circle to card with dimensionals
  • Stamp the flower image from Flower Shop with Crisp Cantaloupe onto a piece of Crisp Cantaloupe and punch out with the Pansy punch
  • Cut a stem from Pistachio Pudding using the Little Leaves sizzlet and adhere to back of flower then adhere to card with dimensionals
  • Punch a small flower from Pool Party using the itty bitty shapes punch pack and adhere to flower center
  • Add a Basic Black candy dot to flower center
There you have it! Thanks for stopping by and have a fabulous day!

Stamp Review Crew Blog Hop: Oh, Hello

Hello everyone! It's time once again for the Stamp Review Crew blog hop! This month we are featuring projects using the Oh, Hello stamp set! You most likely came from Yapha's blog. The links at the bottom of this post will guide you to the next blog in the hop. Be ready to be inspired by some beautiful creations!

For my card today, I used my Color Coach to guide me with my color choices. I wanted something soft and I am really in love with Soft Sky. According to the Color Coach, Blushing Bride and Pear Pizzazz were a beautiful suggestion! And then Mr. Color Coach told me that Island Indigo was a duo to Soft Sky. So I went from there!

I started out by stamping the oval image from Oh, Hello onto Very Vanilla using Soft Sky ink. Then I adhered this to a piece of Island Indigo card stock and tied a piece of Soft Sky seam binding ribbon around this. I adhered this panel to a card base of Crumb Cake that was run through the Big Shot using the Adorning Accents embossing folder. I stamped the greeting onto Very Vanilla using Island Indigo ink and cut it out using the circles framelits. I stamped the flower image twice using Blushing Bride and Pear Pizzazz markers onto Very Vanilla and cut them out. The flowers are adhered to the back of the stamped circle and then adhere to the card with dimensionals. I added three pearls to the stamped circle.

Pretty simple card! Thanks for stopping by and be sure to click the button below to go to Nancy's blog! If you get lost you can always stop at the home blog and see a list of blog participants. Have a super day!

CCMC Card "Create"tions Week 1 Favor

Good morning, Friends! We have come to the end of our first week of Card "Create"tions at Create with Connie and Mary! What amazing cards and ideas! I am so excited to see what week 2 has in store! And if you are not a subscriber, you still have time to sign up! Don't wait! There are great ideas ready for you to use! And by signing up you get the downloadable tutorials to help your card making be as simple as possible!

At the end of each week of the special edition, each of the designers share a little "favor" or 3-D item using the stamp set that they used for the edition. This week I used the Harvest of Blessings stamp set. I had a lot of fun with this set! I don't own this set and had to borrow it from my friend Becky (thanks, Becky). So the only way to see any of the cards that I have made using this set is to be a subscriber! For my favor today I am sharing an idea that I got from the current Stampin' Up! catalog. These are a sort of plant poke. It's still a little early to be planting vegetables and things but I was thinking how cute they would be at a Farmer's Market stuck in a basket of vegetables! Or as a gift to someone who is an avid gardener! To make these is a super simple process!

  • Cut a piece of Naturals Ivory at 4 1/4" x 2 3/4" and a piece at 2" x 3 1/2"
  • Use the circle framelits to round the top/end of each tag
  • On the bigger tag, stamp the tractor image from Harvest of Blessings in black StazOn and the basket image onto the smaller tag
  • Use a blender pen and inks to color the images (I used Garden Green, Crushed Curry, Pumpkin Pie, Smoky Slate and Crumb Cake)
  • Stampe the sentiment onto the smaller tag with black StazOn
  • Stamp the verse onto a strip of Naturals Ivory that measures 5/8" x 3 1/2" using black StazOn
  • Flag both ends of the strip and adhere to larger tag with dimensionals
  • Tie some linen thread through two of the Basic Metal buttons and adhere to tags
  • I adhered my tags to the sticks with scotch tape but glue dots would work, too

  • 3 weeks of FABULOUS card ideas - 18 different sets (not including our two Preview sets).
  • Each SET is presented with 4 cards...for a total of 72 EXCLUSIVE card ideas NOT SEEN ANYWHERE ELSE!
  • Each Saturday we will each do a small favor as a bonus item using the same set we use during the week.   These WILL be displayed publicly but only subscribers will see the cards!
  • Featuring designers:  Melissa Davies, Debbie Henderson, Deb Currier, Nicole Tugrul, Connie Babbert, and Mary Brown
The Create with Connie and Mary Card Create-tions session runs from March 30 thru April 19!
Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!
