Sympathy Card

I know it is unusual for me to post this late in the day, but our school had a track meet all day. The 1st through 4th grades of all the private schools and home schoolers competed today. So, it's not my grade but my son competed with the 3rd and 4th grades. And I got to go and be a 'parent' this time!! I just love to watch him!! He ran in the 1/2 mile race and took third! And he also competed in the running long jump and took 1st! We got a LOT of sun today! Now I go back tomorrow and watch my class compete. Tomorrow's track meet will be with the 5th through 8th grades. And the weather will be just as wonderful!

The reason our main secretary was gone (a continuation of yesterday), was because she had a death in the family and had to travel. So, I was also in charge of making her a sympathy card. I just LOVE this set for those kind of cards! You can make it more masculine as well! Anyway, I think it turned out quite nice! Thanks for stopping by!

Office Administrator Day Thank You!!

Happy Wednesday everyone! We are halfway to the weekend!! Yea!! I am just so excited to have nothing to do when I get home tonight. I am so tired and am looking forward to planting myself in front of the tv in my pj's!

The teachers at our school are losers! We missed the all important Secretary Day! Yikes!! But our main secretary was gone so we decided to wait till she got back. Anyway, I was in charge of cards so here is one that I came up with. I will post the other one later. Thanks for stopping by!

Garden Greetings

Good morning everyone! I think that I am ready for another day. I am just so stinkin' tired! I can't seem to catch up on my rest.

This is the set that I chose for my 'freebie' from Stampin' Up! During Sale-A-Bration (February and March), I was earning points toward free stamps! I earned one and this is the one that I chose. I had my eye on it since the catalog came out. I have only made this one card with it but I am hoping to have some more time to do other samples with it. I wanted to make the flower look more 3-dimensional without having to cut it all out. So, I tried the VersaMarker on the outline of each layer. I think it did the trick! Enjoy!

Sweet Sunday Sketch #14

Good Monday morning everyone! I hope that you had a fabulous weekend. One of the other teachers came in this morning and informed me that we only have 3 more Mondays of school left!!! Isn't that great! I love looking at it that way! I just hope I can get these guys to figure out how to find adjectives and adverbs. Yikes!

This is my version of the Sweet Sunday Sketch #14. This sketch was featured a few weeks ago. I made this card for it but forgot to post it when I did it so here it is now! I had a hard time deciding what stamps to use for this sketch. Too many choices but I definitely don't have enough stamps!! Ha!! Anyway, I hope that you are inspired. Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

My Wonderful Friend

Good Sunday morning friends! I have to tell you that it was perfectly dry yesterday during the soccer game! Yea!! A little breezy which made it cooler than I wanted but I couldn't complain. And they won!! Then I went to a fabulous team meeting that hosted by my awesome friend and downline, Sherry!! You are the best, Sherry! Another friend and downline shared some great ideas and tips about the Big Shot. And then Sherry's team helped us do our make-n-takes. Can't have a meeting without make-n-takes! The food was fabulous as well!! Anyway, it was fun to see everyone and get a chance to catch up. Thank you, Sherry!!

This card was inspired by a few I have seen while 'blurfing'. The idea to stamp directly onto designer paper is relatively new for me. I think that I have done it before but I have forgotten how much I like the effect. The words alone were too 'blah' so I added the flower from Fifth Avenue Floral to help out with a focal point. This is a very simple card!

Little Leaves

Good morning all! I hope that you are having a great start to your weekend! The baseball game last night was super fun to watch. Yes, we lost (again) but just by one run!!! And we had some great "major league" plays going on!! Go Bruins!! That's my son's baseball team :) The wind blew like crazy last night and I feel the dust in my chest. Yuck! It's cloudy right now but no rain. I just hope it stays that way through the soccer game that I am about to leave for.

I found this layout while blurfing last weekend. I just love it! It is so sweet and simple! I used my Big Shot for this one. I die cut the label and the Little Leaves. I did stamp the greeting and added a corduroy brad. Too fun! Enjoy your day!!

Manhattan Flower

Hello everyone! It's finally Friday!!!! Friday's always put me in a better mood (ha, ha). Looks like the weather is starting to take a turn for the worse. Got a baseball game tonight then a soccer game tomorrow morning. I really don't want to sit in the rain. Oh, well. What will be will be.

I found a really cool tutorial on using this embossing folder. I had bought this folder a while back but this is the first time I have used it. I love how this turned out! Check out this blog entry to find out how to do it. It really is super easy! I trimmed away the top excess and put a piece of Walk in the Park designer paper behind it. My greeting was put on as an afterthought but I think it needed it. Have fun trying this technique! Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Ink A Dink A Doo

No, you don't have the hiccups. This is the name of the company where this stamp comes from. Last Saturday, after Nick's soccer game, I talked my husband into driving me to Delta (nearby town) to go to a scrapbook store there. Yeah, I know, can you believe he did it? Well, I did bribe him by saying we could eat at a great Italian restaurant there!! And we did!! Yum!! Anyway, I found a couple of stamp sets there. One was a Heidi Grace set and then this one from Inkadinkadoo. It is full of words in different fonts and styles. Love it!!

This card layout is the third of Kristina's tutorial. So much fun!! And so easy! I thought that this stamp went great with this designer paper, Sweet Slumber. Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Spring Trio

Good morning everyone! I thought I would get my post up quick this morning. Never know what the day will bring. It is supposed to get really warm today but I thought that I would share a spring card with you. Not quite ready for summer yet. Summer break - YES but not the summer time temperatures. Just wanted to clarify!!

Here is another of Kristina's cards. A good friend gave me this pack of designer paper and I have had the hardest time using it! It seemed that everything I made with this paper didn't set well with me. Then this card came along. I really like how this all turned out! I was so excited to have something come together for me! Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

It's Hip to be Square

So that title probably will date me!! I hope that you are having an awesome day! It's hard not to be happy when it is so sunny and gorgeous outside! I can wear my capris and chacos!!! Had a late post today because I was visiting with a prospective family at lunch time (didn't get time to eat) and then I had recess duty. We stayed outside for a whole hour!! The kids were great! Anyway, I am just now finding time to post.
I was blurfing around Two Peas website the other day and found some cards that Kristina Werner had made a tutorial for. I fell in love with all three of them and decided to try my version of them. Here is the first one. After I was finished, I realized that she had popped up the squares. Oh well. I rather liked the way it turned out. Thanks for stopping by!

Wonderful Favorites

Good day all! I hope that your week is off to a great start. It is super sunny and perfect temperature wise! Love it!! The allergies are kicking in. Hopefully they won't get in the way for a great weekend!

Well, this card was a result from a sketch I got off of Lauren Meader. My card ended up quite different but the sketch gave me a starting point. I can't seem to find the sketch I used but it did come from her Saturday Sketches. I also decided it was time for me to 'wrestle' this set back from the dust bunnies! I dusted it off and made quite a few cards with it. I knew that I had purchased it for a very good reason!!

Splitcoast Sketch

Good Sunday morning! It is just beautiful outside!!! Yea!! Finally, it is starting to look like spring! This week should put us close to 80 degrees! Yikes! That's a little too warm for me right now but give me 70's and we have a deal! I am just so thankful that the snow will finally say good bye for now. The baseball game and soccer game were awesome! We lost the baseball game but it wasn't a blowout this time. We did win the soccer game and it seemed that the boys were doing much better! They only had one sub so they all had to play quite a long time but they were troopers. My face has quite a nice sunburn to show off.

This card was inspired by a sketch I got off of the Splitcoast Stampers website. I love their sketches and have used many of them. This sketch was featured a few weeks ago. A very simple layout! Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Simple Thanks

Good Saturday morning! I hope your weekend is off to a fabulous start!! Since I was sick all weekend last weekend, I feel like I am really behind in my stamping. I do know that I am extremely behind in my laundry!! So, tomorrow, I hope that I will be able to find time to do a little stamping and find some challenges to catch up on. But the laundry will have to come first :( Our weekend started off early. Nick had a baseball game first thing this morning. No sleeping in for us! Now we will have some lunch and then head back out for an early afternoon soccer game. Poor Nick. He woke up with a bad case of the allergies. I sure hope he can shake it off. Anyway, the sun is shining and it promises to be a week of sun and much warmer temperatures! Yea!!
Today's card was inspired while blurfing. I can't even remember exactly where because I think it came from several different sources. But I really like the simplicity of it! Really easy. Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!

Top Note Club

Hello everyone! Yikes! The time got away from me today! I will have to make this one quick...

This was the third card we did for club. Very easy! I actually got the idea from last month's Cards magazine. Of course I had to change it up but it is basically the same layout. I love the Big Shot! It makes creating so easy!! I used the Top Note die and the butterfly die. Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!!

Another Club Card

Good afternoon everyone! The weekend is almost here! I hope that your week is going great.

I wanted to share another one of the cards that I did at my club on Monday. I also made this card for a swap that I was in recently. I really like how this one turned out. And it is fairly easy! The most tedious part was coloring the stamp with the markers. I also got a chance to use the new scallop oval punch from the Occasions mini catalog. Not much else to explain. Thanks for stopping by!!

Club Card

Hello everyone! Nothing too exciting going on around here. Just counting down the days!

This card is one I did with my stamp club on Monday. I think that everyone liked how it turned out. It is nice and springy! I did change it up a bit for club but it is the same card. The designer paper and the stamps are from the new Occasions mini catalog. I did change the ribbon for club. I used white taffeta here but for club we used the new white satin ribbon from the mini catalog. Both are beautiful! Anyway, it's a simple but very versatile layout! Have a great day!!

Friendly Flowers

Hi All! I am going to make this one quick. Have a TON to do today. I hope that you are all having a great day!

I found a card layout similar to this one while blurfing one day. I don't know if the card was made the same way but I like how it was different than anything I have tried before. I used my square punch and punched twice into the black cardstock to make a rectangle. Then I measured the 'window' to cut my white panel. I did pop both panels up. It's different and kind of fun! I hope that you are inspired as well. Thanks for stopping by!

I'm Back!

Hello everyone! I am sorry that I haven't posted in a few days. That wasn't the plan. What do 'they' say about the best laid plans? Yeah, well, it didn't work out so well for me. My son had a baseball game Thursday night. Yes, that's two nights in a row. At Wednesday's game the wind was blowing and blowing and cold and just plain yucky. I could tell on Thursday that my sinuses were packed and they hurt but I made it through the day. Then the game that night. It was cool but not like the evening before. Well, Thursday night I maybe got 3 hours of sleep. I could not breathe! My sinuses were so swollen and packed that my face swelled up! I didn't know what to do for relief. Friday had my eyes draining all day long. My son asked why I was crying. I told him I wasn't. I couldn't keep them open for any length of time. My husband came home from work with some medicine and more kleenex. Saturday was more of the same but I started eating. I did start sleeping better, too. Sunday I started to feel better but I was still tired. Today is the first day that I have been out of my pajamas! And here I am back at work! So, needless to say, no playing for me! Boo hoo! I did find energy yesterday to get ready for my workshop that I have tonight. It's for my club ladies and they are great! Can't wait to see you all!!

So, for today's card I have a fairly simple layout. I can't remember where I got this idea. I made it a while ago and the brain just doesn't go that far back. Anyway, I really like the way it turned out. Thanks for stopping by and reading my ramblings. You are the best!!

Parisian Breeze

Good morning everyone! I hope that your week is going great! Today is the last day of school for the week. I am so excited! I am looking forward to a day off. I just have to brag for a moment... Last night was my son's first baseball game. The coach put him in to pitch first! I was so nervous for him!! But, WOW! Did he ever do great! He has another game tonight and will likely pitch again. Or they may save him for the game on Saturday. But either way, he LOVES it!! And his parents love watching him!! Baseball season is here!

Today's card is one that I made quite awhile ago. I copied it from a magazine, changing the colors, stamps and paper, of course. It was so super simple! I love the Parisian Breeze designer paper and it showcases itself perfectly on this card. Hope you are inspired! Have a great day!

Mojo Monday (last Monday)

Good morning friends! I hope you are enjoying your week. Only one more day left in my week!! I am looking forward to some stamping therapy!!

O.k. so I am a little late for the mojo Monday sketch #80 card. But I just had to post this one. Not because it is one of my favorites (which it is not) but because I spent so much time trying to get it to look right. Then I gave up. I don't hate it but it's not my favorite. I have kind of felt like I am making more 'so-so' cards than anything else lately. That's why I am so grateful to these weekly challenges. They at least give me a starting point! Anyway, I hope that you get some inspiration from it. It's a great sketch! Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Great Friend

Wow!! That's all I can say about all your wonderful comments! You sure know how to lift a girl's spirits!! It has been a hard few weeks at school and this stamping thing is truly my therapy!! You are the best!! Thank you from the bottom of my heart :)

I spied this card layout while blurfing over the weekend and decided to give it a try. I feel like this is one of the better cards that I did this past weekend. I really love the colors in the designer paper pack - Walk In The Park - and took my cue from that. The hardest part of this card was cutting out the stem. But I thought it added a little something. Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Color Inspiration #48/Sweet Sunday Sketch #12

Good morning everyone! I just wanted to pop in with a quick post before the day really got started. It's the first day of testing and I think that I have everything set up and ready to go. Thankfully, it should be a quiet morning!

I finally got around to making a card for Kristina's color challenge. I just HAD to do this one! I love this week's colors! Kiwi Kiss, Baja Breeze, Chocolate Chip and Whisper White. Then I took a sketch from Karen Giron (Sweet Sunday sketch #12) and incorporated that as well. I don't really know if my card follows her sketch but I did use it to help create this card. I really like how this one turned out and it was super simple! Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Blue Friend

Good morning Friends! I hope that you are not 'blue' today! It is finally a sunny day here! We are supposed to be warming up a little here and I am very excited about that. This next week at school is testing week. Every grade gives the Stanford Achievement Test to their classes. We mainly test every morning and then the afternoon is for whatever subjects we can fit in. I, for one, love this week. They MUST be quiet!! Ha ha!! I will spread their desks around the room and then get them started. Even my son is looking forward to it. And a few of my kids said they, too, were excited. It's just different than their normal routine. I know by the end of the week, though, they will be ready to be done! And the best way to end the week is to have a day off!! Because Friday is Good Friday, we don't have school! Yea!!

Anyway, about the card. This is one that I did quite some time ago. I was inspired by a card in a magazine. And that's all I can remember about that. Pretty simple and it uses that color that I have such a hard time using - Pacific Point! I do like the layout. Have a great rest of your weekend and thanks for stopping by!

Butterfly Beauty

Good morning everyone! I hope you are having a much warmer Saturday than me!! Rain and snow and a ton of clouds!! I couldn't be happier that Nick does not have any practices OR a soccer game!!! This is his only 'by' week for soccer!! Yea!! They picked the right one! It can get REALLY cold out there! And then the baseball coach called and said that there would be no practice this morning - Yea!! My husband would have taken him to practice anyway but they are excited about it, too!

Today's card is one that I made a while ago. I actually got inspiration for this one from the Stampin' Up! catalog. Pretty simple and self explanatory. Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Little Leaves For You

Good Friday morning!!! YEA!!! I am so excited that it is finally Friday! Yes it is raining but the rain and the thunder and the lightning means that this is a spring storm! And I get a massage after school! What a great day this will be!

Today's card is one that I made a while ago. I had seen something similar to this in a magazine. A super simple card if you have a Big Shot! I just love this sizzlet called Little Leaves. Anyway, I hope that you are inspired! Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

SFYTT

Good morning everyone! It is a fun day here at school today! I love days like this but sometimes the kids can get distracted. I am hoping that everything goes smoothly (we do have a math test that they all need to do well on). Today is baseball and hotdog day! Our second and third grade teachers are always on the ball with finding national 'this' day or national 'that' day. Apparently, Tuesday was national hot dog day and sometime in the next few days is the opening day for baseball. So, we decided to combine the two and today is the day! I do love baseball! I can't wait for this summer when we will be going to baseball games again! And next week my son starts his games! Fun!!!

So were you intrigued by the title? I have always wondered what that meant on blogs that I browse. Well, I found out! It means Sketch For You To Try! Have I mentioned how much I love sketches? So, here's another one to try! Not much stamping on this one but I did get to use my Big Shot! Anyway, I hope you are inspired. Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!!

Sweet Sunday Sketch #11

Good day everyone! Brrr! It is cold today! We woke up to blowing snow! Is it really April? Only 7 more weeks of school! But who's counting? Ha!! I'm trying not to look too eager so I can keep the students focused. Can you guess how that is working?
Today's card was inspired from Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch. I have been wanting to try one of these for some time and for one reason or another I had never gotten around to it. So, I decided to make time for this one. Her card measures 6 1/2" x 3 1/4" but mine is regular card size. I also left off the three little 'somethings' off the right bottom corner. Nothing seemed to look quite right there. Better to leave it off than to add something that is distracting. Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Card Recipe: Stamps- Simple Friendship; Paper- Kraft, Not Quite Navy, Very Vanilla, Bella Bleu designer paper; Ink- So Saffron, Not Quite Navy; Accessories- Kraft taffeta ribbon, gold brad, scallop border punch, dimensionals
