SC 343 Is All White!

Good Sunday morning everyone! I feel like I am up way too early! Yesterday we had a fundraiser for Nick's baseball team all day! And it was a HOT one! I almost didn't make it! Pat and Nick helped with the car wash part and I helped with the bake sale part. Looks like we made a lot of money! But, boy am I tired! Today we will be going up to see Pat's family on the mountain. And that should be fun, too. Then we start the week all over again...

Today's card meets two challenges. I used the sketch from SplitCoast and the Late Night Stamper's challenge was to make an all white card. The first thing that comes to mind with an all white card is wedding so that is what I did with mine. I do love to make all white cards. They are so elegant and you can use a lot of texture! Thanks for stopping by today!

TSSC 184

Good morning everyone! Are you all ready for a super weekend? Got any great weekend plans? Be sure to enjoy the last two days of July! I can't believe it is over! And now things are going to start getting busy for us in the sports world. Nick starts his regular soccer practice next week in the evenings and he wanted to do a goalie camp next week, too and that will be in the mornings so he will be one busy boy!! But it will be good for him! And I know that he and his dad want to get another camping/fishing trip in before school starts.

I finally got around to playing the sketch challenge from Mary Jo! She always has great sketches! Here is this week's (which ends tomorrow):

Clean, Simple and FUN! I love it! Take a look at what I finally came up with:

It's a little different. My son wanted me to get this set, Need for Speed. Imagine that! And since Stampin' Up! retired the Extreme Dirt Bike, I don't use it as much anymore (which was his favorite stamp, by the way). So I needed a current one. It can be hard to find stamps that appeal to a "tween". Anyway, I got the set and I need to find ways to use it. I thought this sketch was perfect! I got the color combination from the Color Coach and I kind of like the way it all turned out!

Be sure to join in on the blog hop with this sketch challenge! You have until tomorrow! And you can join in right here on my blog! It is always fun to see how others interpret the sketch! Have a super day!

SFF 072911

Happy Friday everyone! It is once again time for another great sketch challenge from the team at Sketch Frenzy Friday! This week's sketch was created by Tammy Fite! Take a look at this fabulous sketch:

And here is what I came up with! Take a look:

I really like how this one turned out! I don't do many square cards but they sure are fun! And it's fun to get out of the box! I just love the colors in the designer paper Just Add Cake, so that is where I got my color inspiration. I started with a card base of Blushing Bride (4 1/4" x 8 1/2" and scored at 4 1/4" to make a square card). To the card base, I added Early Espresso and a piece of Just Add Cake designer paper. I then cut a smaller piece of Early Espresso. To that I added a piece of Baja Breeze that was cut with the scallop squares duo die. I stamped the greeting from Friendly Phrases in Early Espresso in the bottom right hand corner and added three brads. This panel was popped up on the card. Then I took a piece of Whisper White card stock and a variety of markers (Poppy Parade, Wild Wasabi, So Saffron, Baja Breeze, Peach Parfait, and Blushing Bride) and stamped the Hello Blossoms stamp. Then I took a strip of Wild Wasabi and die cut a strip from the Tasteful Trim die to glue to the edge of the Whisper White piece and then popped it up on the Baja Breeze panel. Then I stamped the Hello Blossoms on a scrap of Whisper White in Early Espresso and punched out the letters with the 1/4" circle punch and glue dotted them inside the of the flowers. There you have it!

Now it's time for you to move on through the tour of inspiration! Click 'here' to see what wonderful creation Jennifer has come up with. Keep clicking your way through until you end up back at the Sketch Frenzy Friday blog. Then create your own awesome creation and post it the blog so we can all see! I always love to see what you come up with! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

CCMC 160

Happy Thursday everyone! Here we are at the last Thursday of the month! Wow! I feel like this month just flew by! Anyone else feel that way? Anyway, it is time for another super great challenge at Create with Connie and Mary! Take a look at the sketch:

So cool! It is something a little different and I wanted to push myself to do something a little different (well, at least for me). I think that a little bit of Carrie Gaskin is rubbing off on me - lol! Don't you just love her style? Anyway, here is what I came up with:

I decided to go with a more antique feel. I also wanted to use the new embossing frames. These are SO cool!! I am still experimenting with them but what I did was emboss the frame on Very Vanilla card stock and then cut it out. Then I distressed it with Crumb Cake ink and a sponge. But let me back up a bit and tell you that my card base is Crumb Cake that is sponged with Crumb Cake. Then a layer of Basic Black and another layer of Crumb Cake that is sponged as well. Then I took a piece of Basic Black card stock tore the edges, wad it up and glued it to the card. I also took a piece of First Edition designer paper tore and sponged the edges, wadded it up and glued it to the card. Then I took some Basic Black satin ribbon and wrapped it around that and tied a bow. Then I took the Vintage Vogue stamp set and stamped the "F" in black StazOn on Very Vanilla card stock and cut it out. I popped it up on the frame and popped the frame up over the ribbon. The last thing I did was to stamp the "friends" in black StazOn on Very Vanilla card stock and notch it on one end. The other end of it is attached to the ribbon with a safety pin and brad from the vintage trinkets (love those). There you have it!

Need some more inspiration? Sure! We all do!! And you won't be disappointed by the inspiration from the rest of the team! Go check them out at the Create with Connie and Mary website! Then go and create your own wonderful project using the sketch provided. I always love to see what you all come up with! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

My Friend in Blues

Good morning, Friends! I hope you all are enjoying your week! We are on the downhill side of it and then July will be over! We had some pretty good rain around here and the temperatures were so pleasant you might have thought it was fall! No complaints, though! It should be a nice, quiet and enjoyable day for me!

Today's card is one that I did a while ago. A very super easy card! But I really like the way it turned out! It is hard to tell, but I did use the Stripes embossing folder on the Island Indigo layer. Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Goodbye Butterfly

Good morning, Friends! I hope your week got off to a great start! I will have to make this pretty short as I am getting my hair cut this morning. But that is kind of nice as it leaves the rest of the day open to get other stuff done! And I realized that I need to get some more stamping done so that should work out perfectly!

Today's card is one that I did a while ago. I just love the new In Colors this year! And I just love this new ruffled ribbon! So much fun to use! It's a pretty simple card! Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your day!

Card Recipe: Stamps- Summer Solstice; Paper- Island Indigo, Pool Party, So Saffron, Whisper White, In Color paper stack; Ink- So Saffron, Island Indigo; Accessories- Pool Party ruffled ribbon, Square Lattice embossing folder, corner rounder, 1 1/4" circle punch, 1 3/8" circle punch, silver brad, scallop edge border punch, dimensionals

Raindrop Get Well

Good morning, Friends! It's Monday once again. And it is the last week of July! Wow! Nick starts his conditioning camp for soccer and then practice starts next week! As I told my friend, the "crazy" starts all up again! But the boys will need to be getting ready as they have a tournament in three weeks. And right after we get back from that, school starts! I do want to tell you all (cause I know that you love to hear all about my life), Nick got up early and went to work for nearly two weeks with Pat and also did a LOT of work around here to earn money. He wanted to buy a unicycle. Well, Saturday he had earned enough to buy one. So we went to The Bike Shop and let him get it. Of course he needed to learn to ride it but he stuck with it the rest of Saturday night, and all day yesterday and by the end of the day he had pretty much learned how to get up on it (without supports) and ride it quite a ways! We were so proud of him for how hard he worked to buy it and then to learn to ride it! Now I just hope and pray that the same motivation will carry on to and through school!

Today's card is one that I made up a week ago (or so). I had been wanting to figure out how to use the raindrop image from the My Friend set and this is what I finally came up with. I guess it turned out o.k. Thanks for stopping by to take a look! Have a super day!

Pennant Hello

Good Sunday morning! My men made it back yesterday afternoon safe and sound! It sounds like they had an awesome time! They caught quite a few fish and survived the camping. Nick's favorite part was being able to "drive" the canoe all over the lake. We had gotten a trolling motor for it and he was excited to be able to motor it around. But it sounds like that was the place to catch the fish. Nobody was catching anything on the shore. Good for them! I am so glad they get to do things like that!

Today's card is one that I made up a few weeks ago. The inspiration comes from the catalog, page 64. I am not completely happy with my card. Seems a little plain but I wasn't sure what else to do. I just love the Pennant Parade stamp set and the coordinating punch! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Card Recipe: Stamps- Pennant Parade; Paper- Poppy Parade, Baja Breeze, So Saffron, Whisper White, Pocketful of Posies designer paper; Ink- Night of Navy, Baja Breeze, Sahara Sand; Accessories- 1/2" circle punch, Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder, pennant builder punch, silver brads, white baker's twine, basic rhinestones, dimensionals

Soft Wisteria

Good morning, Friends! I got to sleep in a little this morning - yeah! Well, actually I got to bed really late last night and I slept later because of that. Pat and Nick went camping yesterday. They took the tent and the canoe for fishing. Nick was SO excited! They wanted me to go, too. I do like to camp. But tent camping is NOT my thing anymore. Maybe five years ago. But at my age, I need running water and a comfy bed. So give me the Hilton and I will go camping - lol! Anyway, they will be back after lunch sometime. And then I will be able to sleep better after they are home.

Today's card is one that I made up last week. It's not one of my favorites but I liked the colors together. And I got to use some of the new ruffled ribbon. It is pretty easy! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

SFF 072211

Good Friday morning! Time for another great sketch challenge at Sketch Frenzy Friday! This week's sketch is brought to us by Tammy Baldwin! Take a look!

Now, I have the hardest time with the diamond shape in my creations. I have a hard time getting them even and straight and centered. But something came to mind and here is what I finally came up with. Check it out!

Not too bad, eh! I am very happy with how it turned out! And may I say that I am SO thrilled that the cupcake set and punch are in the new catalog! Love them both!! I started with a card base of textured Wild Wasabi. Then I cut a square of designer paper from Just Add Cake and a square of Peach Parfait. The Peach Parfait square went through the Big Shot with the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder and then got sponged. I also wrapped a piece of Baja Breeze narrow taffeta ribbon around that. Then it was popped up on top of the designer paper. On scrap Whisper White I stamped the bottom of the cupcake in Early Espresso and the top in So Saffron and then punched them out with the cupcake builder punch. These are popped up on the Peach Parfait square. Then I took the greeting from the same stamp set and stamped it in Early Espresso on Whisper White. This is layered on Peach Parfait that was notched on the ends and glued to the bottom of the card. The last thing I did was to punch a flower from Baja Breeze with the itty bitty shapes punch pack and add a rhinestone. There you have it!

Now it is time to send you on. Click 'here' to go see what Jennifer has made with this sketch. Keep clicking through to get inspired. Then go and make your own fabulous creation and post it to the Sketch Frenzy Friday blog so that we can all see! I do hope that you will be able to join us this week! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

CMC 159

Good morning everyone! Everyone is back from convention and so Connie and Mary are moving on to another challenge this week! This week Create with Connie and Mary are challenging us with a color challenge! Take a look at these beautiful colors!

The challenge colors are Regal Rose, Marina Mist, and Sahara Sand. I do have to confess that Regal Rose is one of my least favorite colors. I have so much trouble putting it with other colors. It can be so bright and "in-your-face". But these colors are so pretty! So here is what I came up with!

This idea and layout comes from the new catalog! It's on page 112. I love the way the card used the Build a Blossom stamp set and the coordinating Blossom Petals builder punch. Although, the center of each petal is cut by hand. I started with a card base of textured Sahara Sand card stock, then a piece of Sahara Sand designer paper, then a piece of Marina Mist card stock. To make my flower, I stamped the petals on Whisper White card stock in Regal Rose ink (stamping off first) and then punched them out using the Blossom Petals builder punch. I glued these to a 1/2" circle to make it easier to keep them together. Then I stamped the petal centers on Whisper White card stock using Regal Rose ink. I cut these out and used glue dots to glue them to the petals. Then I put an antique brad in the center. The flower is popped up on the card. The last thing I did was to stamp the greeting in Sahara Sand on Whisper White card stock and pop it up on the card, too. Done! I really like the way this one turned out!

I do hope that you will go over to Create with Connie and Mary and see what the other fabulous designers came up with.  Then I hope that you will find some time this week and make a project using these colors. I always love to see what you come up with! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Christmas in July Freak Tour

Hello everyone! Welcome to another fabulous Control Freaks blog tour! You probably have just came from the wonderfully talented, Gretchen Barron. I always love her work! She never disappoints! But, however you got here, welcome! This month the freaks will be showing off some fabulous projects! Some of the freaks went to convention and will be showing off their fabulous swap cards, while others of us (like me) stayed home and will be showing you some Christmas ideas. Can you believe that we are thinking about Christmas already? Where does the time go? Anyway, it will be here before we know it. So it is never too early to start on those Christmas cards and projects. I hope that you get some really fabulous ideas! By the way, if you are seeing this before the 20th, please note that some of the links may not be working. So be sure to stop back by on the 20th to go through the tour without any hiccups!

For my first project, I made some Christmas ornaments! These little paper ornaments are also in the catalog and that's where I got the idea. I haven't tried this before and they looked so cute and easy! And they are!! I can just imagine a little tree decorated with these ornaments in coordinating colors. Or make them all the same! I used the Delightful Decorations stamp set and coordinating punch. I got my color scheme from the designer paper Letters From Santa. I don't have the paper but that's where I got the inspiration. What do you think?

For my next Christmas project I made a Christmas card. What is Christmas without Christmas cards? I used the Season of Joy stamp set for this card. I also used the layout at Clean&Simple. It might just become my Christmas card for this year!! The color scheme for this one comes from the Deck the Halls designer fabric. I love these colors for Christmas!

Well, there you have it! I hope that you are inspired to get started on some great Christmas projects! Be sure to click on the button below to go to the awesome, Mary Brown's blog. She is sure to wow us all! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

July Shoebox

Good morning, Friends! Another week, another Monday. I hope yours goes just wonderfully! I woke up this morning to find out that my son went with his dad (my husband) out to work. I can't believe he got up that early! He usually sleeps until noon! They had a great time fishing together this weekend. They didn't catch anything, but they enjoyed each others company.

Today's card is one that I did for my July shoebox club. This layout is actually from the catalog. But then I also saw it as a sketch on the Clean&Simple blog. Too funny! The sketch was last week's. I had wanted to do this layout anyway so I came up with this! I do like the way it turned out! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Card Recipe: Stamps- My Friend; Paper- Soft Suede, Crumb Cake, Night of Navy, Rich Razzleberry, Pocketful of Posies designer paper; Ink- Soft Suede, VersaMark; Accessories- Crumb Cake seam binding ribbon, 1 3/4" circle punch, 2 3/8" circle punch, dimensionals

Butterfly Trio

Good Sunday morning, Friends! I hope that your weekend is going great! Yesterday my husband decided to that he and Nick would go fishing! It has been something that he has wanted to do all summer but we just haven't had the time due to either work or sports. So the two of them went shopping for some gear and their licenses and then loaded up the car and went to explore a new lake! I got to spend the afternoon and most of the evening all alone!! It was pretty nice! I got the living room picked up and the laundry done! That doesn't sound very exciting but there was a lot of blog surfing and other relaxing things in there, too! I think we are going out to breakfast this morning and then they want to go fishing again. So it looks to be another afternoon all to myself! Yeah!

Today's card was inspired by the one on page 141. I love the butterfly card on that page! So I re-created it by using the butterfly from the Summer Solstice set. I really like the way this one turned out. I know that flowers are brown and I did try out other colors but this color just seemed to work the best. Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Card Recipe: Stamps- Summer Solstice, Friendly Phrases; Paper- Lucky Limeade, Very Vanilla, Wisteria Wonder, Peach Parfait, Pool Party, Soft Suede, In Color paper stack; Ink- Elegant Eggplant, Cajun Craze, Island Indigo, Soft Suede; Accessories- itty bitty shapes punch pack, dotted scallop ribbon punch, basic pearls, dimensionals

Lucky Butterflies

Good morning everyone! I can't believe that we are at the end of another week! And I can't believe that we have a weekend where we don't have anything scheduled! My husband asked me last night if there was something I wanted to do. And I was thinking, not really! Can't we just stay around here and do nothing? But we will see. I know we talked about going to the movies. And Nick would love to go up to the ranch and ride dirt bikes. That would be fun, too. But we will see...

Today's card was inspired by a card from the catalog on page 96. I did change it from pumpkins to butterflies. I do love this little butterfly from the Summer Solstice set. And since I seem to know so many people who are moving, I thought this sentiment (that also comes in the set) was very appropriate. Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

SFF 071511

Good Friday morning! Time for another great sketch from the Sketch Frenzy Friday team! This week's sketch is from Sharon Field. Take a look:

And here is what I came up with:

I am really pleased with how this turned out! I really love this new In Color, Calypso Coral! I started with a card base of Calypso Coral and then cut down another piece of textured Calypso Coral, wrapped a piece of Calypso Coral ruffled ribbon around it and glued it to the card. I stamped a greeting from Perfectly Penned in Basic Black. For the focal point I started with a die cut from the Perfect Pennants die in Daffodil Delight. Then I used the Circles #2 die to cut the circle from Baja Breeze. This is popped up onto the card. To make my flower I first inked the flower from Summer Solstice in VersaMark and then in Calypso Coral and then stamped it onto Calypso Coral card stock and then I embossed it with clear embossing powder. I did this twice because I cut some of the petals out of one flower and popped them up onto the other flower to add dimension. Then I stamped the leaves in Lucky Limeade on Lucky Limeade card stock and cut them out. I put an antique brad in the center and popped it up on the circle. And there you have it!

So now I need you to click 'here' to go and see the creation that Jennifer has made with this sketch! Be sure and click your way through the inspiration tour and then create your own project using the sketch provided! We just love to see what you all come up with! Be sure to upload your project to the Sketch Frenzy Friday blog! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

CCMC 158 continued...

Good morning, everyone! It's Thursday and that means Create with Connie and Mary have a challenge for you! Now if you remember from last week, a lot of the design team members are at the Stampin' Up! convention this week and so they are unable to update their blogs with a new challenge. So they have decided to continue the challenge from last week to this week! Remember that you get to choose between a color challenge or a sketch challenge or do both on one card! Last week I chose the color challenge. This week, since I am not at convention, I am showing you a project using the sketch challenge! Take a look at the sketch:

And here is what I did with it:

I made a set of four 3 x 3 note cards. They are all the same except for the main focal image stamp. I used the Pocket Silhouettes stamp set. Each card has a different image from the set! I did use the challenge colors of So Saffron, Pumpkin Pie, and Basic Gray. I stamped the image on a So Saffron 1 3/4" circle with Basic Gray ink. Then I sponged the circle with Pumpkin Pie ink. I punched a 2 3/8" scallop circle out of Basic Gray and these two are glued together. The scallop is glued to a piece of So Saffron and then I tied a Basic Black narrow taffeta ribbon around that. I added three little rhinestones and then popped it up on the Basic Gray card. Then I stamped the greeting on Whisper White in Basic Gray and tucked it under the ribbon. Easy!! And great to send a short note to someone!

You can find more inspiration at the Create with Connie and Mary website! Many have added great projects already! I do hope that you will find time to play along! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Hello, My Friend

Good morning, everyone! Halfway through another week! Wow! Yesterday was my dad's birthday and I forgot to mention it so "Happy Birthday, Dad!!" I could have called him anytime during the day because he is retired now!! I will be sure to do that today! So, can you believe that I was able to turn off the air conditioner yesterday evening?! We were sitting in our house with the windows open and cool air blowing through! It was SO nice!! Reminded me of fall but that isn't coming for a while. Now it will get hot again but it was really enjoyable while it lasted!

Today's card was inspired by the card in the catalog on page 113. I do hope you are not sick of me doing cards from the catalog but it really is so much fun! I do like the way this one turned out! And I love this stamp! This set also has a stamp that has raindrops. I haven't quite figured out what to do with that one, yet, so that is my next challenge - lol! Thanks for stopping by! You all make my day!

Pennant Ice Cream

Good morning, Friends! I hope your week has started out wonderfully! I can't believe how fast this summer is going! It really doesn't seem like July around here. It has been so humid around here! And it does rain about every day. But I am grateful for the rain! Not much going on which has been nice.

Today's card was inspired by the card on page 69 of the catalog. I thought that it was so clever to use the pennant stamp set and punch to make an ice cream cone! I also used the cupcake builder punch to make the top part of the cone. It really makes for a super easy card! I hope that you are being inspired by the catalog, too! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Need for Speed

Good morning everyone! I was finally able to sleep in a little this morning and it felt good! We have been so busy this weekend watching various baseball games that it is hard to believe that we are starting a new week again! Fruita still has a couple of teams that are still in the tournament! And we will be watching one of those teams tonight. If either of them loses one more game then they are out. Go Fruita!!

Today's card is another that was inspired by the catalog. This comes from page 77 - the whale card. The card was really super simple and is a more masculine card. I don't make a lot of those. Anyway, thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Just Add Cake!

Good Sunday morning, Friends! I hope your weekend has been going super! We have been busy watching a lot of baseball around here! It has been so cool to be able to watch our favorite teams and players. And we will be going out again this morning. Since it is monsoon season, we are very humid around here! UGH! It did rain at our house early this morning but apparently not in town where they are playing. Weird! But I am grateful for the rain!!

Today's card is another that I CASE'd from the catalog - page 66. For this one, I changed the colors and left off the buttons. I believe that I also changed the size of the card. Other than that, I think I kept it pretty much the same! I hope that you all are getting inspired from the catalog, too! There are so many great ideas!! I am going to enter this one in the Inspiration In Action CASE Contest, too. I really like the way this one turned out and it was SO easy! Want to find out more about this contest? Click 'here' to go to Gretchen Barron's blog to find out more! And thanks to Gretchen for hosting such a FUN contest!! I love it! Thanks to you all for stopping by and have a wonderful day!!

Inspiration In Action CASE Contest

Good morning everyone! I hope you all had a fantastic week! It might have been a short one for you as Monday was the holiday. It is the time of year when the All-Star baseball teams are playing their tournaments around the Grand Valley. Nick chose not to do Little League this year and therefore, was not eligible for the All-Star teams. I have to say, that it is kind of nice! Nick and his dad went and watched a game last night and we are going to watch one this morning. That should be fun!

Today's card is another that I CASE'd from the catalog. And I happened to find a contest along these lines that Gretchen Barron is hosting! It is called the Inspiration In Action CASE Contest! Click 'here' to find more information about that. Copying the layouts in the catalog is what I do best at the moment!! I wonder how many times you can enter - lol! Anyway, I tried to post a picture of the card I CASE'd but I couldn't figure it out right now. But this card is on page 72 and it is the first card on the left of the page - the cat card. Love the layout of this one! I kept the colors pretty much the same. I did change the bottom part of my card and the focal point. The stamps are different as well and I shortened the length of the banner. I did use two little mini brads! Boy, are those thing CUTE!! Anyway, I do hope that you will check out her blog post for the specifics of the contest and then get to creating!! This will be fun! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

SFF 070811

Good Friday morning! I hope you are ready for another great sketch challenge from the Sketch Frenzy Friday team! This week's sketch comes from Tammy Fite. Check it out!

And here is what I came up with!

Isn't it cute? I really like how it all turned out! I have to admit that I wasn't sure as I was putting it together but after looking at it for a while, I decided that it was definitely cute! As you can see from the sketch, I opted to leave out the bottom border. I just couldn't get it to look right for me. I started with a card base of Poppy Parade. Then I made a square panel of Baja Breeze with a piece of Just Add Cake designer paper and glued it to the card base. Then I used my 2 3/8" scallop punch and punched a So Saffron piece and then added a 1 3/4" Baja Breeze circle to that. This is popped up on the card. Then I used my the Create a Cupcake stamp set and stamped the base in Wild Wasabi and the top in Blushing Bride. Then I punched these out with the cupcake builder punch. These are popped up on the circle. The finishing touches are the greeting stamped in Poppy Parade (from the same set) and the flower that is punched out of Poppy Parade with a rhinestone. And there you have it! I just love these colors!! And they all come from the designer paper!

O.k. Now it's time to go to Jennifer's blog to see what she did with the sketch. Continue through the mini blog tour to be inspired by the design team. Then go and create your project using the sketch provided. Be sure to upload it to the Sketch Frenzy Friday blog so we can all see! I do love to see what you come up with! I hope you will all find time to play along! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

CCMC 158

Good morning, Friends! It's time for the Thursday challenge at Create with Connie and Mary! This week's challenge will be combined with next week's challenge. You see, Stampin' Up! is having their annual convention next week and many of the design team will be going. I will not be one of those. (tears) Yes, it is a choice that I made and I am being a "big" girl about it but I will definitely miss all my wonderful stampin' friends!! Anyway, since there will be so many gone, Connie and Mary decided to combine this week's and next week's challenges together and run them for two whole weeks! That means more time to play!! So, the challenges will be both a sketch and a color challenge! I chose to go with the color challenge. But you could do the sketch or do both on the same card! Lots of possibilities! Anyway, here is the color challenge:

And here is my card:

I think these colors are just fantastic! I love how they look together! I started my card with a base of Basic Gray textured cardstock. My panel is a strip of Basic Gray patterned paper that is notched and two strips of Pumpkin Pie that have been punched with the scallop trim border punch glued to the back. I glued this panel down to the card. Then I took So Saffron and Pumpkin Pie and used my Fun Flowers die to die cut the flowers (the top flower is actually punched with the 5 petal flower punch). The So Saffron flowers were run through the Big Shot with the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder. Then I tried to "curl" the petals with my bone folder. I am not sure how well this actually turned out. Then I put an antique brad through all the layers and popped it up onto my card! The last thing I did was to stamp the greeting from My Friend in Basic Gray on Whisper White and tuck it behind the flower. And there you have it!

Now it's your turn! You can see what the other designers have come up with at the Create with Connie and Mary site! I know they will have lots of inspiration for you! Be sure to create your own wonderful project and upload it to the site! I can't wait to see what you come up with! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

CASEing With Florets

Good morning, Friends! I hope your week is going great so far! The weekend will be here before we know it! I am looking forward to getting some stamping done. I think that Nick will be spending the day at a friend's house. So I will be by myself! I should be able to get a lot done, right? And tomorrow afternoon he has a birthday party to go to. I am out of cards to show so I do need to get to work! And I have some new toys coming this week so that should be easy!

Today's card was inspired by a card in the new catalog. I have really enjoyed copying layouts from the new catalog. This one is on page 110. I did change is up a bit. It is an easy card, just the way I like it! Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Pennant Hello

Good morning everyone! I hope your 4th was celebrated in style and that everyone was safe! We drove our 12 hours back home and made it safe and sound! We did pick up some good 'ol Kansas fireworks and had our friends come over to watch them explode when we got home. We were a little nervous as the wind was really blowing but everything seemed to be o.k. and there were others who were doing the same thing all around us. I just wish I could have slept in a little more. But my body woke me up and so I guess I will start my day!! Not a whole lot I "have" to do today.

Today's card was copied from the catalog. It is from page 5. Again, the card in the catalog was a little one that I made into a regular sized one. I just really like the layout! And I just love the new Pennant Parade stamp set! The only thing that "bugs" me about this card is that I left a little too much ribbon stick out on the left side. Oh well. I still like it. I think it turned out really cute! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Card Recipe: Stamps- Pennant Parade; Paper- Whisper White, So Saffron, Baja Breeze; Ink- Poppy Parade, So Saffron, Baja Breeze; Accessories- Poppy Parade poly twill ribbon, silver brads, white baker's twine, pennant builder punch, Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder, scallop edge border punch, dimensionals

CASEing the Catalog

Good morning everyone and Happy Independence Day! I am pre-posting this as we will be on the road early today to be on our way home! What a great visit! I will post more about it later but as I type this, it is raining!! UGH! Fireworks are hard to do when it is raining! You can imagine that Nick isn't too thrilled about that!

Today's card is one that I copied from the current catalog. I found a little 3 x 3 card on page 34 and made it into a regular sized card. I changed up the stamps but the layout is pretty much the same. I do like the way it turned out! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Card Recipe: Stamps- On the Grow; Paper- Riding Hood Red, Island Indigo, Soft Suede, Whisper White, Neutrals paper stack; Ink- Island Indigo, Lucky Limeade, Crumb Cake, black StazOn; Accessories- basic rhinestones, 2 1/2" circle punch, dotted ribbon scallop border punch, blender pen, dimensionals

SFF 070111

Good morning, Friends! I hope you are ready for a super sketch from the Sketch Frenzy Friday team! This week's sketch comes to us from Robbie Rubala. Take a look:

Another great sketch with lots of possibilities! Of course, when I saw the circle image, I knew that I wanted to do something with the doilies! Here is what I came up with:

So I ended up not using the Delicate Doilies stamp set but I did use the Flirtatious paper! Isn't it cool?! The Flirtatious paper has two sheets of these doilies and one side of one sheet is Melon Mambo and the other sheet has one side of Pumpkin Pie. But the other side of both sheets is Whisper White! So that is what I went with. I carefully cut apart the doily and it is popped up on the Elegant Eggplant panel. Behind the Eggplant panel is a piece of the Flirtatious designer paper peeking out. This is glued onto a piece of Wisteria Wonder that has a piece of Whisper White organza ribbon tied around it. And then glued down to the Elegant Eggplant card base. My focal point is finished off with a stamp from Happiest Birthday Wishes stamped in Elegant Eggplant onto Wisteria Wonder and then punched out with the scallop circle punch. This is popped up on the doily and then I added two little pearls. And there you have it!

Click 'here' to see what Jennifer has done with this week's sketch. Be sure to visit each designer's blog to see what they did with this great sketch! Then create your own wonderful project to upload and share with us at Sketch Frenzy Friday! I can't wait to see what you do! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!
