Celebrate The Fourth

Good morning everyone! I thought I would stamp first today and then do my cleaning, laundry and other chores (yuck). I think that we actually have an evening where there is nothing planned!! So, we are going to have a really nice dinner tonight to celebrate the end of the school year and the start to a new chapter! The picture of my card today (and the last few) are kinda icky. I think that I need a new SD card for my camera. I am going to pick up a new one and see if that does the trick. Otherwise I will have to get out my manual and find out what is going on.
So today's card is one I made for the featured stamper's challenge on Stampin' Connection. The featured stamper is Barb Mulikin. These are the cards that I "case'd". I love the simple layout! And I guess it is time to start thinking about Fourth of July cards. Summer is finally here! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Red, Kraft, and Blue!

Good afternoon, Friends! I hope that you are having a great start to your week! I tried to start cleaning up my house today. First I needed to find a *home* for all my school stuff that I brought home. Well, it is just shoved into another part of the house for now. Not sure what I will do with it. Then I had to go though all of Nick's clothes to find out what fits and what doesn't so we can take it to the thrift store. Then I had to find a *home* for his clothes. And I am doing the laundry at the same time. I just feel like I will never catch up! I haven't even gotten to the real cleaning part yet! I did get my hair cut!!! And I mean CUT! But I love it! I was hoping to get a good picture of me to put on my blog. But I just don't think that is going to be possible (lol). I will keep trying. I think that our whole family is getting a serious makeover. My husband shaved his beard and moustache off last night! And Nick is getting his hair highlighted next week. Will anyone recognize us?
So, after saying all of that, I did not get around to stamping. I did find this card that I made a while ago. I think it was for the featured stamper challenge on Stampin' Connection. At the time I made it, it was not even close to July 4th. But we are getting closer!! This is a very simple and straight forward card. Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Happy Graduation!

Good Monday morning everyone! I can't believe that it has been so long since I last posted. I never meant for that to happen. But it has been c-r-a-z-y around here! Between baseball, soccer (games and practices) and then school getting out (remember that I quit my job so ALL my stuff had to be packed out). But wait! That wasn't enough! No!! I had to get sick on top of all that!! UGH! I think a lot of it has to do with allergies but I can't seem to get rid of this annoying cough. And then I get a headache from coughing. And it just goes on. So for the last three days it has been so windy around here. And then we had three soccer games and a baseball game. So sitting out in all this dust (and there is a fire south of us to blow in smoke from that as well) is not helping anything. We got home from an end of the year soccer party and I could smell nothing but dust all night long. O.k. Enough of me whining. But can anyone else feel my misery? And I have been going to bed quite early, too! Hopefully I will start to feel better this week...
Since I haven't been stamping for quite a while, it has been hard for me to get back into it. I am hoping that I can take some time today to just sit with some sketches and start creating. This card was made from the fall-to layout from Clean & Simple. I needed a quick and easy card to mail to my niece for graduation. I was excited about finding this sketch. I even have some other ideas to do with it. Thanks for hanging in there with me! Now that school's out, I plan on posting more regularly. Have a super day!

The Art of Kindness

Good Friday afternoon to you all!! Another week down. Two to go!! Can you believe that we had another freeze warning last night? Holy moley!! The cars had a light covering of frost on them! It's just bizarre! I am so excited to go to my friend, Sherry's house in a while! Her husband is cooking for us! And then we will be stamping. There will be no sleeping in for us tomorrow. We have an early start with baseball pictures and then straight off to a soccer game. But it is supposed to be a really nice weekend. What are you all hoping for for Mother's Day? Me? I have been wanting to plant some flowers in pots and decorate the deck with some color. We will see...

Today's card is one that I got from Emily Tull. She does a lot of classes and had some leftovers. I really liked this card and decided to make one of my own. So, this wasn't my idea but I am really glad that she let me make one! I have another card of hers that she let me make and I will post that later this week. Thanks for stopping by!

Brads and Buttons

Good evening, Friends! It's been a weird day. Last night the wind blew like there was a hurricane! Oh my goodness!! I even backed away from the windows! So this morning, after we got up, we surveyed the damage and found one tree had its top missing and it was lying in our yard. Then, around the corner of the house, another tree had let loose of an even bigger limb and there was another broken limb but it hasn't fallen to the ground yet. So we will have to cut that one down somehow. Then my son woke up not feeling well and so my husband and I decided that he would take him on his rounds and let him sleep in the back of his truck. I kept hoping that he would start feeling better and my husband could bring him to school later in the day. And he did come to school later, which was good so that he wouldn't have so much homework. I know this wind and dust and such flying through the air has gotten to his allergies. And since his December episode, we are very alert to his asthma. I don't think he had an attack but I hope that is because we helped him prevent it. He was bummed that I wouldn't let him go to soccer or baseball practice but I thought it best as it is still windy and he is still acting "puny". Anyway, he is eating and will go to bed early so that tomorrow will be a good day for him.

Today's card is one I made earlier this week. I used a sketch from Taylored Expressions. I like her sketches and was glad that I could participate in this one. I wanted to try to pair the Old Olive with the Melon Mambo since they will both be a part of the Brights Collection next catalog year. It is different. But I like the way it turned out. I also got to use those cute itty bitty buttons! Thanks for stopping by and have a super evening. Tomorrow is FRIDAY!!

The Tango is Back!

Good afternoon, Friends! I am so excited to be on the downhill side of the week! It was such a beautiful day today! I didn't even mind having recess duty today! Now tomorrow will be a different story as it is supposed to be windy. I really dislike the wind. It messes up your hair and makes my allergies go nuts! But I will deal with it. It is so nice to have a night where we don't have any games or practices. We are going to watch a softball game later. My friend's daughters play and her husband is the coach. Should be fun!

Today's card is one that I did for a recent swap I was in. I wanted to incorporate the returning In Colors. So for this card I used some Tangerine Tango. Yep! It's back! It will be in the Brights Collection. Along with Old Olive. I put it together with lots of Very Vanilla to help tone down the brightness of the Tango. And a little polka dots never hurt! I really was pleased with how this one turned out. The hardest part? Cutting out those dang butterflies! But if you know me, that's what I have to do to make it pop! Enjoy your day!!

Baha is Back!

Good evening everyone! We just got back from an exciting baseball game! It was pretty intense for a while! We did end up losing 7-5 but I would rather lose this way than win by having us walked in. I think I saw more kids hit the ball than ever before! And we were making plays! And now I am tired. But I really want to watch some of the Rockies' game, too. We will see. I may be snoozing away before too long.

Tonight's card is one that I made for the Clean & Simple sketch. I just love their sketches! They are just my style. I also wanted to use some of the new colors that will be making a come-back in July. Baha Breeze was always one of my favorites and I am so thrilled that it is returning as a main color! I also got a chance to use my itty bitty buttons. They are THE cutest little things!! Thanks for stopping by and have a super evening!

Starring You!

Good Monday morning everyone! I will be making this quick as I need to be getting to school. It is so hard these last few weeks to continue to be motivated. But it will all come to an end soon. We won our soccer game yesterday 2-1! The boys played exceptionally! It was freezing cold out there and the wind was blowing. Hopefully that kind of weather is done for a while. Tomorrow night we have a baseball game and it is supposed to really warm and sunny. I'm ready for it!

Today's card is one I made from Karen Giron's Sweet Sunday sketch. I love her sketches and try to participate whenever I can. This one was fun for me. I decided to make a 3 x 6 card for this sketch. And I tried to use some of my son's favorite colors. This is a super easy card! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Wonderful Father

Good Sunday morning! The sun is shining! Yea!! Nick has a soccer game later today and it is much more pleasant to watch when the sun is shining. However, the forecast is for rain and snow mix after 9:00 a.m. Yuck! I do hope that doesn't happen. Guess I will have to wait to see. We lost our second baseball game yesterday. We just couldn't seem to hit the ball. I know that if some of those bats had found the ball we would have won. Frustrating. But I guess all major league teams go through that as well.

I do need to take a few lines to tell you all that I appreciate all the awards that I have been given. I am not ignoring them or you. I truly am flattered! The truth is... I do know a lot about computers/blogs but I as much as I know, there is still even more that I don't know. And I really don't know what to do with these awards. I am laughing at myself as I type this. I know it sounds so silly but it is true. So, if you have given me an award - Thank You!!! I don't do this blog for the awards but it is always nice to be recognized. You all are the best!

Now on to the card. This card was made from a Clean & Simple sketch. I have been wanting to try this sketch for a while and just haven't come up with anything. I guess having the boys out yesterday helped me think a little (LOL)! Anyway, this one is so super simple!! Each circle is a different size and I used up all my circle punches. Too fun! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!!

From the Heart

Good morning everyone! It feels so good to have the weekend here! Boy did it get cold last night!! My husband said that the ground was covered with a layer of ice this morning when he woke up. I think that was because it rained last night and then froze. The fruit growers around here were kept busy protecting their fruit. Hopefully they didn't suffer too bad. Got to have my peaches this summer! Nick has a baseball game later today. Looks to be a really nice day. A little on the chilly side but at least the sun will be shining. Then he and my husband plan to ride ATV's out in the desert with some friends which leaves me the house to myself! I am so excited about that!!

Today's card is one that I did for a recent swap that I participated in. I followed the Clean & Simple sketch. It turned out to be a super easy card even though I cut out the flower. Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!
