Stampin' Joy

Hello everyone! I am so excited to be getting this week done! And so is my son. He has finals this week. And I am just looking forward to Christmas break! Lots of fun stuff going on at school this week. So I really need to get my gifty items ready to take to school. Hmmm... I should have done that this weekend and totally got sidetracked. Yikes! Time to get focused and get them done!

My title for this post came from the inspiration I got from a Stampin' Weekly Update. Stampin' Up! sends out a weekly (or bi weekly) update with a sample. The last one I got had a sample that had this same basic layout. I wanted to try it out using Christmas stamps. Super simple!

  • Card base is Whisper White
  • On another piece of Whisper White, stamp the dots and stars image from Holly Jolly Greetings using Smoky Slate ink
  • Stamp the "wishing you" using Cherry Cobbler ink
  • Create a banner from a piece of Merry Moments designer paper and sponge the edges using Smoky Slate ink then adhere to panel
  • Adhere a strip of Cherry Cobbler card stock
  • Adhere panel to card base using dimensionals
  • Stamp the "joy" onto a piece of Whisper White and cut out then adhere to card with dimensionals
  • Add rhinestones to card
Have you subscribed to the Create with Connie and Mary December mini edition? The edition has opened and is ready to be viewed! Don't miss out on some super ideas! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

CCMC Saturday Blog Hop: Christmas Gift Card Holder

Hello everyone! It's time again for the Saturday blog hop with the Create with Connie and Mary designers! This week we are featuring Christmas gift card/money holders. I am your stop after the fabulous Debbie Henderson!

I started out making a gift card holder and then switched to making a money holder. I had made these money holders many years ago and thought I would bring it back! I couldn't remember the exact dimensions so I had to kind of make up my own. But I still think it turned out pretty good!

  • The base is Cherry Cobbler that I cut at 6 3/4" x 9 1/4"
  • I scored at 3" and 6 1/8"
  • I used an envelope that measured 6 1/2" across and then cut the top part off so that it measured 3"
  • The envelope is adhere to the middle panel and then adhere the bottom panel
  • Fold down the top (mine is a smidge shorter but I was ok with that)
  • Adhere a strip of silver foil paper to the inside panel and fold down the top
  • Adhere a piece of Merry Moments designer paper to the front
  • Tie a piece of Smoky Slate baker's twine around the holder
  • Stamp the greeting onto a piece of Whisper White card stock using Cherry Cobbler ink and punch out using the Note Tag punch
  • Adhere tag to the baker's twine
  • Adhere two Snowflake wooden elements together and then to the holder
  • Add an iced rhinestone to snowflake center

Woodland Peace

Hello everyone! I couldn't be happier that today is Friday! I swear that yesterday should have been for all the weirdness going on at school. I ended up having to be a sub for the kindergarten teacher. Yikes! Those little kiddos are so cute but I am definitely not made to be a kindergarten teacher! Thankfully the aid came to my rescue and I ended up helping her! Supposedly there is a winter storm moving in. If it truly does snow a foot, then I can blame the weather - lol! Here's hoping that today is a "normal" sort of day with no weirdness!! Then I can end my day with some fun stitching time at Becky's!!

Today's card was inspired by one that I had saved a while ago. The sample actually used a stamped image of the trees and some beautiful soft papers. I had to rethink that part and I am pleased with how this turned out!

  • Card base is Smoky Slate
  • Sponge the edges of another piece of Smoky Slate card stock using Whisper White craft ink then adhere to card base using dimensionals
  • Run a piece of vellum through the Big Shot using the Woodlands embossing folder
  • Stamp the stars and dots image from Holly Jolly Greetings onto the vellum using Whisper White craft ink
  • Cut the "peace" from silver foil paper using the Christmas Greetings thinlits and adhere to vellum piece then apply the glue to the back side of the vellum where the "peace" is to adhere it to the card
  • Stamp the "on earth" onto a strip of Smoky Slate using Whisper White craft ink and emboss with white emboss powder
  • Flag the end and sponge the edges with Whisper White craft ink then adhere to card
  • Add rhinestones

Merry Snowman

Good morning everyone! I hope your week is going super! I am really glad that it is a shorter day for me and that I finally get my hair cut! It's been bugging me for a while. I am also getting it highlighted!! The teachers are all counting the days until Christmas break! But I still can't seem to wrap my head around the fact that it's coming so soon! I really need to shake that wake up and get shopping!

Last night was the Card Class Christmas party hosted by my good friend, Becky! She always puts out a great party - complete with stamping and FOOD!! Always an enjoyable time! One of the projects we made was this cute snowman card. She used different colors and paper and such but I just loved the quick and easy idea! I have seen these adorable cards all over and I think I even saved one from last year (on Pinterest). So when I got home last night, I set to work and came up with this cute guy!

  • Card base is Crumb Cake
  • Run another piece of Crumb Cake through the Big Shot using the Softly Falling embossing folder
  • Sponge embossed piece with Whisper White craft ink and then adhere to card base
  • Punch a circle from Whisper White using the 2 1/2" circle punch
  • Cut a strip of Merry Moments designer paper and adhere to bottom of circle
  • Punch two little banners from the Merry Moments designer paper using the Bitty Banner punch and adhere to back of "scarf"
  • Adhere snowman to card with dimensionals
  • The eyes are two Basic Black candy dots and the nose is cut from Pumpkin Pie card stock
  • Adhere a Snowflake wooden element to scarf and an iced rhinestone to snowflake center
  • Stamp "merry" from the Holly Jolly Greetings onto a strip of Crumb Cake using Momento ink and flag the end then adhere to card
Before I sign off, I want to remind you all of the upcoming Create with Connie and Mary December mini edition!

Flurry Crumb

Hello everyone! How did Monday come around so soon? Ugh! I was really enjoying my weekend - lol! Two weeks and then we get winter break! I guess I had better be getting more serious about my Christmas shopping and sewing! Yikes! Nick had fun snowboarding at Powderhorn this past weekend. But he did hurt his leg pretty good. We are thinking it is just a deep tissue bruise. We are keeping our eye on it but he is moving around better each day. He's excited to get back up the mountain and try it all again! They officially open this weekend. We will see...

Today's card uses one of my very favorite stamp sets! I love these snowflakes and they make it easy to come up with a quick card!

  • Card base is Crumb Cake
  • On another piece of Crumb Cake, stamp the largest snowflake from the Flurry of Wishes stamp set using Crumb Cake ink then stamp the next largest snowflake using Marina Mist ink
  • Stamp the speckles image from Gorgeous Grunge using Whisper White craft ink and sponge the edges with the same ink
  • Stamp the greeting using Momento ink
  • Adhere a strip of Wonderland vellum to the side of the panel (the vellum has gold snowflakes so I am using the back side of the vellum)
  • Tie a piece of linen thread around the panel and then adhere panel to card base
  • Sponge Whisper White ink onto a Snowflake wooden element and adhere to card with a dimensional
  • Add an iced rhinestone to snowflake center

Hello everyone! Welcome to another Saturday blog hop with the Create with Connie and Mary designers! This week we are featuring small Christmas favors. I am your stop after the fabulous Debbie Henderson!

We just put up our tree a few days ago and as I was getting out the ornaments, I took time to admire each one and where/when I got it or made it! What wonderful times! I decided to add one more ornament to my tree and made it for this week's hop! This is so easy and so much fun!

  • This ornament is made with using a small embroidery hoop

  • Stamp the large snowflake image from the Flurry of Wishes stamp set using Soft Suede ink
  • Sponge the edges of the circle using a sponge and Whisper White craft ink
  • Adhere circle to the hoop
  • Stamp the sentiment onto a strip of Crumb Cake using Soft Suede ink then color inside the lines using Crumb Cake ink
  • Flag the end to create a banner and sponge the edges using the Whisper White ink
  • Adhere to circle using dimensionals
  • Sponge Whisper White ink onto a wooden snowflake element and adhere to ornament
  • Add a large iced rhinestone to the large snowflake and a smaller iced rhinestone to the wooden snowflake
  • Adhere a piece of Real Red pom pom trim to the outside of the ornament
