A Watercolor Birthday Wish

Good morning, Friends! Well it is an interesting day around here. I know it is odd that I would be posting this time of day. Last night you would have thought a hurricane had blown through Western Colorado! It was so windy!! But it was just blowing a cold front through. This morning we woke up to rain, snow and cold! Can you believe it? Just a little frustrating! Anyway, today was supposed to be the track meet for just the first through fourth grades. And since my son is in the fourth grade, I decided to take the day off to go watch him. So we packed up our blankets and coats and umbrellas and lunches and started off. We barely made it out of the driveway when I got a call that the meet had been cancelled. So we go back home and now we have a 'free' day!!Tomorrow is supposed to be the track meet for the fifth through eighth grades. So I will be going to that one as a teacher. Should be fun. I just hope it is a little nicer.

Today's card is one that I made a few days ago. It was for the Featured Stamper's Challenge on Stampin' Connection. I love that challenge! The featured stamper was Lisa Young. And she has a super gallery! I love it!! So I combined two of her cards to get this one. I used the new Watercolor Trio set. This set will be available for purchase on Saturday!! You will love it! I guess I have some time to stamp! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Vintage Friends

Good morning everyone! It is unusual for me to post in the morning but I am taking the day of to be "mom". I am going to help drive my son's class for a field trip today. I am really excited! I thought I had all this time and now it appears we are going to be late so I will hurry through this post.

Today's card is one that I did with my stamp club this month. I really like the "springy" colors on this one. And the Vintage Vogue is becoming one of my favorites! So much you can do with it! It is a simple card. Just a little time consuming with all the cutting. And I think that I got it off a sketch from somewhere. Anyway, have a super day!

Friendship Stays

Good Sunday morning everyone! I did not realize that it has been a week since I last posted. I am so sorry! I have been really busy but I this week was actually a "quiet" week compared to some. I think that I was probably really tired! Only 4 more weeks till summer break!!! And to let you all know, I did turn my letter of resignation to begin at the end of this school year. No, I am not going back to teach. My husband and I decided that I really need to be home more. Especially as Nick will be in middle school in only a couple of years! Yikes! Where did that time go? I will be looking for something part time and hopefully I will find something. A little extra money never hurts! We missed yesterday's soccer game to play a baseball game. So I am not sure how Nick's soccer team did yesterday and I am anxious to find out! Nick's baseball team was fantastic!!! We have lost one game and the team we played was undefeated. Well, they are undefeated no more! Nick pitched 68 pitches and hit a SUPER hit! In fact, his hit was so good that the next time he got up to bat, they intentionally walked him! Now I have never heard of that happening in little league but we keep telling Nick that it is a compliment. Well, I think that is enough bragging on my son. Thanks for reading.

Today's card is one that I did with my stamp club last week. Super easy! And I love the way it turned out! Not much to say about it. What you see is what you get! Thanks for stopping by and thanks for being patient with me. You all are the best!!!

Full of Life

Good Sunday morning everyone! It looks to be another beautiful day around here! No chance that it will rain today! And yesterday turned out to be really great as well. We traveled to Basalt for a double header. No we didn't win either game but I felt like our boys really played hard and made them fight for each goal. The first game ended up being really close 3-2. I really thought our boys would score again before the end of the game. The last five minutes of the game the wind picked up then it started raining but it was raining slush and with the wind blowing it really hurt! The thing was it was blowing this slush into the opponents faces! That's why I thought we could score again. The second game was a nightmare but I still felt like we played hard. That score was 7-1. Yikes! And I have to remember that we are 10 and they are 12! Big difference!! Some of their players looked like they were going through puberty! Playing against these guys will really prepare them for the next step. When we play the tournament in May they will be playing against teams their own age. Imagine how they will do then!

Today's card was inspired by one that is in the catalog. It's on page 97. Yes, mine is quite different. I have always liked that card and I finally decided to make it a while ago. I am not sure how I feel about it. It's not bad just not my favorite. I wish I had a bigger oval, I think. Anyway, here it is. Thanks for stopping by and have a super Sunday!

P.S. Anybody see the AWESOME no-hitter by Ubaldo Jimenez yesterday!! First ever in Colorado history!!

Awash With Doodling

Good morning, Friends! It looks like it is going to be a beautiful day! The forecast called for rain but I don't think it will. We have to travel to Basalt today for a double header (soccer). Nick is looking forward to the traveling part. And really likes to play soccer, too. Last season we only traveled twice and I think that we will only have to travel twice this season as well. He feels all grown up because he "travels" to play games. It's pretty cute. In June he will be trying out for more "elite" teams and if he makes those top teams then we will be traveling! Like to Arizona! So we will see. The two teams that we are playing are a whole year older than our boys so I hope they are ready to get a little physical.

Today's card was inspired by Stampin' Connection. I was looking around on there and someone had done a little "doodling". I thought it really fit this stamp set so well that I tried it. Now I know there is no right way to doodle but I always think mine looks funny after I do it. I didn't doodle around the flower panel like the person did but just the grass. It was fun. Give it a try! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Top Note Bird

Good evening everyone! I hope your day was a great one. Mine was uneventful but that is just fine with me. I am so glad that we are on the downhill side to the weekend! Nick had a baseball game tonight. When I got there, I heard other parents talking about how great this team was (the one that we were playing). So I thought that we would get our "you-know-whats" kicked all over the place. But guess what?!! We won!!! We won 10-6! And Nick pitched just over three innings and 70 pitches! He was great! But he sure makes me nervous sometimes. Actually, the whole team played beautifully! We were hitting the ball and making some really great plays. And it was such a pleasant evening. Now we are home and the coach told him to ice his elbow and shoulder. So now Nick thinks he is quite the "major league" player!! It's so funny!!

Tonight's card is one that I did with my stamp club ladies. I ended up selling quite a few of these bird punches. I think it is a very versatile punch. I got the inspiration for this card from Stampin' Connection. A super easy card! And I love the white on white look. Thanks for stopping by and have a super evening! Time to watch the Rockies play!!

Trendy Thanks

Good afternoon everyone! Boy is it a windy one around here! My allergies are kicking my butt once again. I do hope it rains and gets everything settled. I have stamp club tonight and I am really excited to see all the ladies again! My son has baseball practice and I am so glad that I don't have to go to that in all this wind. Dad can do that!! Besides, he is helping out the coach anyway.

Today's card is one that I made from an old 411 sketch. I really like the sketch but I am not so sure about my card. Might have to try this one again. I haven't been feeling very creative lately. Sure hopes that comes back soon as this is the last card in my pictures file that I have left to show! Yikes! I do have a few others but I haven't taken pictures of them yet. And I will have my club cards to show you later this week, too. Well, have a super day and thanks for stopping by!

Birthday Star

Good Sunday morning, Friends! I hope that your weekend is going just wonderfully! Mine is but it seems to go by so fast! How can we make this slow down? Yesterday was such a beautiful day for a soccer game! We show up just in time to watch the game before us come to an end. The coach warms our guys up. The refs show up. But there is no other team! Our opponents failed to show up and didn't bother to call anyone to let them know this! Our boys were so psyched up to play their first game and we ended up going home. Yeah, they won but they were still kind of bummed about not being able to play. And we were bummed because we could have played a baseball game! Apparently the baseball team did well and won their game. Oh, well.

Today's card is exactly like a card I made last year. Except that I used different colors. I had wanted to enter this card in the Take Five contest that Stampin' Up! did last month but then I chickened out. The contest was to use five or less products to make a card. Now I guess I will never know if I could have won. I just need to do it sometime and take the risk. It is a super simple card and that's the way I like 'em!! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Happiest Birthday Star

Good morning everyone! I am ready for a great weekend! I had so much fun stamping with friends last night. However, I pooped out early. I was so tired and didn't have any trouble falling asleep when I got home. So I didn't get much done last night. I am hoping that I will be inspired in the next two days. Becky made us a fantastic dinner and I ate way too much! Today we have a soccer game. Our first one of the season! And the sun is shining!! Should be a great game!

Today's card is one that I made from a sketch from the Clean & Simple blog. This is an older sketch but I do like its simpleness. Is that a word? Anyway, I made it with a boy in mind. Not too much else to say about it. Thanks for stopping by and have a fantastic Saturday!!

Thoughts & Prayers

Good afternoon everyone! Is anyone else as excited that it's Friday?! Wooo Hooo!! I am looking forward to an evening of stamping with friends. Even though I am so very tired. We had testing this week and while I look forward to this week, I am very glad it is done. I am done wore out. I celebrated with the kids by bring ice cream and toppings for sundaes. They loved it! So next week it will be back to the normal routine. Only six more weeks!

Today's card is from a sketch that I got off of the Clean & Simple blog. I made it a while ago so the sketch is probably old but still one that brings a lot of possibilities. I truly love this set, Thoughts & Prayers. Anyway, not much else to say. Have a super day and enjoy the weekend! It is supposed to be super duper weather!!!

Rhinestone Vintage

Good evening everyone! What another gorgeous day we had today! And tonight was the first baseball game of the season! Nick was the starting pitcher and pitched 65 pitches!! He didn't walk in any runs! All the runs they got, in fact, were off hits and missed throws/catches. Yes, I am proud!! It is so nerve racking for me to watch him pitch. But he manages to get the job done. I am going to have to start bringing my camera to capture the moments. And, yes, we won! 14-7!! Now most of our runs were from walks but they still count!
Today's card is one that I did for a recent swap I was in. I based it off a sketch that I had lying around. Super simple! Well, it's time for bed. My allergies are kicking my butt! Need sleep... Thanks for stopping by! Tomorrow is FRIDAY!!

True Friend

Good evening everyone! What a super sun shiny day! I love it!! We had our little league opening ceremonies tonight and that was just enough to put me in the mood for the spring/summer season! We have our first baseball game tomorrow night and Nick will be the starting pitcher! WOW! He is really excited about that! I am looking forward to seeing how the team will do this year. Our first soccer game is on Saturday. That will be fun to see how these boys do there, too.

Today's card is one that I made a while ago. I made it from a sketch that I can't remember where I got it. Geesh! I am terrible! I thought that I had labeled everything this time but when I go back to look for them I can't find them. So I guess I miss labeled. I got my color inspiration from the catalog cover. Thanks for stopping by to look! Have a super evening!

Starring You!

Good evening, everyone! I am so happy to have my Internet up and running again! Things are quite busy around our house! We are getting our entire exterior stuccoed (I have no idea if that is even spelled right but that's the best I can do) and the guys have been busy despite the 100 mile an hour wind. God bless them! Then we are also having a new front deck and a new side deck put up. These two decks will connect and wrap around the corner of the house. I am so excited!! So it looks really different around here. And the reason I haven't had Internet was because of weather but also because we had to upgrade our satellite dish and the guy finally came out today and got that done. And I do think that it is working better than it had before. But right now I am freezing!!! We turned the heat down in the house but now we are huddling around a little space heater! It is supposed to warm up tomorrow and I do hope they are right!

Today's card is one that I found a sketch for. I really can't remember now but I really liked how clean and simple it was. I love this set, Starring You. So easy to use! Thanks for stopping by and have a super evening!

Happy Easter!

Good Sunday morning, everyone and Happy Easter! I am so sorry that I didn't post yesterday but the Internet was not cooperating or working. Then we had a soccer scrimmage to go to. Then the wind starting blowing a hundred miles an hour. I did stay inside but I stayed near our little electric heater and watched the Rockies play and then the basketball games. Too fun! I don't how many of you all watch the games, but it just broke my heart when DeShawn (I think that's how you spell his name) Butler fell and hurt his knee. And then the coach coming out. I mean, it didn't seem like they would win the game but the last thing either of them wanted was for Butler to get hurt. I even cried a little for them. It was nice to see a coach caring more about his players than winning a game.

Today's card is one that I have posted on Stampin' Connection. This card was for the Featured Stamper challenge and the featured stamper that we were to copy was Mary Jo Price-Williams. She has great weekly sketches as well. This is the card that I 'CASE'd'. As you can see I changed a few things. I do like the way it turned out. Thanks for stopping by and have a super Easter! HE IS RISEN!!

Good Friday

Good morning, Friends! Yea!!! The sun is shining today! And I don't have to be at work today!! And I am going to my friend, Sherry's house later today and she is cooking dinner for myself and a few other friends and then we are going to have fun stamping!! That sounds like a really Good Friday to me! Yesterday I placed my order for the new Summer mini catalog products that will be coming out next month. I am really excited to get them and start playing. But I will have to wait a few more days for that. However, starting yesterday, customers can now purchase the stamp set, Awash With Flowers. You will LOVE this set! It is so easy and fun to use!

And this is the set that I used on today's card! I made this card for the Featured Stamper challenge on Stampin' Connection. The featured stamper was Robin Merriman. She made this lovely card. I changed it up quite a bit but it gave me the inspiration. I really like the way the white shows up on the Kraft. Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

April Fool's

Good afternoon, Friends! I am so excited! We get tomorrow off of school so today is a GREAT day for teachers and students! Nick was supposed to scrimmage another soccer team tonight but that got cancelled and so we don't have anything scheduled! And the reason that it got cancelled? Here is the April Fool's part... It's SNOWING!!! Normally they would play in the snow but the wind is blowing a hundred miles an hour, and it's freezing!! So the card is reminding me that it really is spring no matter what joke the weather is playing on me!! I am really not that grumpy about it because I have tomorrow off!!

Today's card is from a sketch I got from A Sketch For You To Try. I changed it up quite I bit to make it more my style. I love sketches for that exact reason. It just gives a great starting point. I also just got this new two-step bird punch. I am not a fan of birds (got too many around here and I was attacked by one going to the mailbox) but I do like this punch. And I have seen so many really cool things to do with the punch. So I had to have it! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!
