Minty Ferns

Good morning, Friends! It's Friday! This is going to be my mantra once again - lol! I have a meeting at school today. It's a short one so that is ok and then I can come back home. I know I will have time to work in my room next week. It just seems so crazy early to be going back to school! There is a biking camp that Nick wanted to go to next week. Instead, the biking team is going up for the weekend for a special clinic. He is excited about that! Time to get all the clothes washed and ready for school!

Today's card was one that I did for a recent swap I was in. I am in love with the Mint Macaron color and love to try out many different color combinations! This one is pretty simple!

  • Card base is Crumb Cake
  • On a slightly smaller piece of Crumb Cake, stamp the Hardwood background stamp using Crumb Cake (I inked the background stamp with Crumb Cake using a sponge and then lightly tapped random areas with my finger tips)
  • Adhere panel to card base
  • Cut the label shape from Very Vanilla using the Lots of Labels framelits and then cut one end off to create the flat edge (the top)
  • Stamp the greeting from Butterfly Basics onto the shape using Momento ink
  • Stamp the fern image using Mint Macaron being sure to stamp several times without re-inking
  • Tie a piece of linen thread around the panel and then adhere to card with dimensionals
  • Punch a butterfly from vellum using the Bitty Butterfly punch and adhere to card with a glue dot
  • Add a pearl to butterfly and two smaller pearls to vanilla panel
Love the way this one turned out! The Create with Connie and Mary mini edition is almost over! Did you get to see all the wonderful ideas that were shared? Be sure to visit the site to get more details and to sign up! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Cherry Cottage

Good morning everyone! It seems that I need to change the batteries in a certain smoke alarm. Yesterday morning it started but then ended after about an hour or so. I thought maybe it was a bug that had gotten in there. But then this morning it started again so I will be changing the batteries. I have to keep reminding myself that I have teacher training today. It just doesn't seem possible!! Back to work I go!

Today's card was inspired by one I saw in the catalog. I wish I had made the panel just a wee bit skinnier.

  • Card base is Soft Sky
  • Round the top left hand corner of a piece of Whisper White using the Project Life corner rounder
  • Adhere a strip of Cherry on Top washi tape
  • Flag both ends of a strip of Cherry on Top designer paper and adhere to panel
  • Stamp the greeting from Cottage Greetings onto the panel using Momento ink
  • Stamp the flower image using Momento ink and color in with Watermelon Wonder and Cucumber Crush markers
  • Add a silver mini brad to flower center
  • Tie a piece of white baker's twine around the panel
  • Adhere panel to card with dimensionals
Super simple! Are you subscribed to the Create with Connie and Mary Mini Edition? I used the Cottage Greetings stamp set to create a set of four cards that can only be seen in this edition! The edition started Sunday but you are able to view it for a whole year! Be sure to sign up and see what the designers created just for this edition! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

  • On a slightly smaller piece of Whisper White adhere a piece Everyday Chic washi tape along the top of the panel
  • On another smaller piece of Whisper White stamp the dots image from the Dotty Angles stamp set at the top of the panel using VersaMark ink
  • Emboss the dots using clear emboss powder
  • Sponge color onto the panel starting with Wisteria Wonder and then Soft Sky inks and a sponge
  • Stamp the greeting from Happy Birthday, Everyone stamp set using Momento ink
  • Adhere panel to the washi tape panel
  • Tie a piece of Calypso Coral thick baker's twine around the panel and tie a bow then adhere panel to card base with dimensionals
  • Punch a flower from Calypso Coral card stock using the itty bitty accents punch pack and adhere to card
  • Add a rhinestone to flower center
  • Add a few clear sequins from the metallic sequin assortment

    Pink Blossoms

Good morning, Friends! What a fast week this seems to be! I am so excited that I get my hair cut today! But I have a lot to do before I leave again tomorrow morning. I hope I can get my act together and stay organized. I also need to get packed and then there is shoebox this evening. So I need to get a project together. And the laundry needs to get done... But first coffee!!

Today's card was an experiment with coloring and a new color combination!

    Heart Camper

Hello everyone! We made it back home safe and sound last night! The only bummer is that my husband's car had a flat tire. We had to take both our vehicles because we left at different times so my truck was good to go. And for whatever reason, we could not get that spare tire to work so it's still at the airport. Hopefully we will be able to get it out today. Very frustrating! Nick had to spend the night at a friend's house right away so I have a nice peaceful day ahead of me! I plan to get a lot done!

Today's card uses another of those cute images from the You're Sublime set. In fact, I got the set because I fell in love with this camper image! So cute!!

    • Card base is Whisper White
    • Flag the bottom of a piece of Whisper White and stamp the camper image from You're Sublime onto the panel using Momento ink
    • Stamp the camper image again using Momento ink onto a piece of Whisper White and color in with Pool Party, Smoky Slate, Basic Grey and Real Red markers then cut the image out
    • Adhere the cut out image to the other image using dimensionals
    • Tie a piece of Smoky Slate thick baker's twine around the panel and adhere to card base with dimensionals
    • Add rhinestones to card
Super simple! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

CCMC Saturday Blog Hop: Tunnel Card

Hello everyone! It's time again for a Saturday blog hop with the designers of Create with Connie and Mary! This week we are featuring Tunnel Cards! I am your stop right after the fabulous Debbie Henderson

It was my turn to come up with the special card to make this week and I chose the Tunnel Card! I had never made one before and it turned out to be really easy and a lot of fun! I just had trouble cutting into the beautiful Timeless Elegance designer paper! But here is what the front looks like...

    And the inside...

My finished card measures 5 1/2" x 4 1/4". Instead of writing out all the dimensions and steps I will let you look up the directions. I didn't really have measurements for the scoring and folding. The folds are in half and half again. I used the Timeless Love stamp set. The colors are Basic Black, Very Vanilla, Smoky Slate and Basic Grey. The flowers are colored with Pink Pirouette, Wisteria Wonder, Pear Pizzazz and So Saffron markers. I also used the Ovals framelits and the Everyday Chic designer washi tape. Basic Black stitched satin ribbon was used on the front as well as pearls inside and out! I hope you have a chance to try making one, too! But first check out what the fabulous Connie Babbert has created! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

    FMS 193

Hello everyone! Better late than never - right? Lol!! Nick and I got to KC yesterday afternoon and had a great dinner and visit with the family! Then a few of us went back to the airport to pick up Pat. Now we are all here! We slept in a little and then went out for a great breakfast! A little shopping and now we are hanging out till we go to the Royals stadium for a baseball game! So excited!! (Our shopping was to get some Royals shirts.)

Today's card was inspired by the Freshly Made sketch.

    • Card base is Whisper White
    • On another piece of Whisper White adhere a strip of the Cherry on Top washi tape then tie a piece of white baker's twine around that and tie a bow
    • Adhere the panel to the card base
    • On a strip of Whisper White, stamp the frog image from You're Sublime using black StazOn then color in with an aqua painter and Cucumber Crush and Mossy Meadow inks
    • Adhere a smaller piece of Tip Top Taupe to the left hand side of the strip then adhere strip to card with dimensionals
    • Add two white accents (I can't remember their proper name) to the side
Super easy! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!
