Framed Wheat

Good morning everyone! Man, it's early!! Well, not really but I really wanted to snuggle and keep sleeping! Got to get the boy up for school, though. And, if it was that hard for me to get up, you can imagine how hard it was to get him up! Good thing it's a long weekend for us! I can't believe it is the last day of August! That means it is the last day to order from the Summer mini catalog. Tomorrow everyone can start ordering from the new Holiday mini! And that is what I am showing you all today!

Today's card is one that I did for a recent swap that I participated in. Can you tell that I just love this set? It is so beautiful! This is a very simple card but I just love how it turned out! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Holiday Freak Swap

Good morning, Friends! I hope your week got off to a great start! I think it has for us! We had back-to-school night last night. It was great to meet Nick's teachers and to see how his day goes. Nick had come home one day last week to say that it seemed as if a lot of teachers knew him. And we asked him how that was and Nick said it was because of Pat. Well, Pat used to work there and he knows quite a few of the teachers there. And I remember when we adopted Nick, they threw a big baby shower for us and Nick got passed around to be held by all! So, I guess it would seem that they should know him - lol! Anyway, when we were there last night, Pat got to meet up with all of them again. We just have a really good feeling about Nick's school year!

Today's card is one that I did for the Control Freak swap group that I am in. It seems that the cards have been mailed out. I am anxiously awaiting mine!! I do like the way this one turned out! The scallop border behind the water colored circle is a strip punched with the scallop trim border punch. Then I notched in between the open scallops. Then I used a ton of glue dots and worked it around gluing it down behind. I hope that makes sense! Thanks for stopping by and have a super Tuesday!!

Holiday Sneak Peek

Good Monday morning, Friends! Wake-up time came WAY too early for me! And I know it did for Nick, too. He is real slow this morning! But I think he is looking forward to a full week of school. At least I hope he is - lol! His school is having back-to-school night tonight, so we will be meeting his teachers and seeing how his day goes! I do want to mention that his soccer team won their game yesterday! We were so excited about that! Nick played in the goal for the first half and nothing got by him! He is really loving that position!

Today's card is one that I did for a swap that I participated in recently. I haven't gotten them back, yet, but thought that it might be safe to show it off to you all. You might recognize the layout. It is this week's sketch challenge at Create with Connie and Mary. Have you played along yet? It is a great sketch! Anyway, I am also showing you a peek of one of the new sets that will be in the new Holiday mini catalog, Always Thankful. This is a beautiful set and a must-have for me right away! There is also a peek of the gorgeous designer paper! This new mini goes live on the first! Believe me! You will not want to miss out on this! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

SSSC 131

Good Sunday morning everyone! I am making a short post today. We are off to eat breakfast and then check out so that we can go watch the boys play their second soccer game of the season! They did win yesterday: 2-0!!! It was so exciting! And Nick was goalie for the second half of the game. Boy, did he have to make some great saves! I was so proud of him!

Today's card was inspired by Karen Giron's sketch from last week. I love her sketches! I got my colors from the Color Coach. I rather like these colors together! I wasn't so sure at first. But it is growing on me. We are winding down to the last few days to purchase this stamp set, Strength & Hope, which helps to benefit breast cancer research. It is truly a beautiful set! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

TSSC 188

Good morning, Friends! I hope your weekend is getting off to a great start! We will be leaving in a few hours for Denver. Nick's soccer team has two games this weekend. One today and another tomorrow. So we will spend the night and come home tomorrow evening. I hope they play as awesome as they did last weekend! Nick got his first few days of school done. He said he really likes Middle School! I am glad for that! He likes having his own locker and being able to switch between classes. Of course, his favorite class is P.E.!

I had meant to post this card on Wednesday in honor of the first day of school around here. But since that didn't happen, I decided today would be fine. I used Mary Jo's sketch to help jump start me. I just love these little kiddos! So easy to watercolor and they have that vintage feel. Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

SFF 082611

Good Friday morning everyone! I hope you are ready for a great sketch challenge from the team at Sketch Frenzy Friday! this week's sketch is brought to you by me!! Take a look:

And here is what I came up with:

Have I ever said how much I LOVE the cupcake set and punch? Because I do!! You can put a card together so fast and it will always turn out so cute! I also love the Just Add Cake designer paper! The colors are so happy! For my card I started with a card base of Baja Breeze and then added a strip of designer from the Just Add Cake pack. My focal point it Whisper White layered on Poppy Parade. The greeting from the Create a Cupcake stamp set. Then on scrap Whisper White I stamped the cupcake bottom in Poppy Parade and the top in Baja Breeze and punched them out with the cupcake builder punch. These are popped up above the greeting. In the upper left hand corner I put a brad in and then I glued a piece of Poppy Parade poly twill ribbon on the back and the whole panel is popped up. And that's it!

So now it's time for you to click 'here' and see what Jennifer did with this sketch. Keep clicking your way through the tour to get inspired and then make your own wonderful creation. I hope that you will upload it to the Sketch Frenzy Friday website so that we all can see! I look forward to seeing what you can do with this sketch! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

CCMC 164

Good morning everyone! It's Thursday already and time for another super fun challenge from the Create with Connie and Mary team! This week is a sketch challenge. I hope that you will be able to play along with us! Take a look at the fantastic sketch:

And here is what I came up with:

Once again, I went in a masculine direction. I really like the images in the Need for Speed stamp set. And this sketch is really awesome! I actually made a different card with this sketch but I wanted to do something a little different. So this is what came out! I started out with a Not Quite Navy card base and then cut another piece of Not Quite Navy card stock and layered a piece of designer paper from the Neutrals paper stack. On top of that is a piece of Cajun Craze that was run through the Big Shot with the Houndstooth embossing folder. Then I added a strip Early Espresso that was die cut with the Tasteful Trim die. Two 5/16" silver brads were added and then the whole panel was glued to the card front. For my focal point I die cut a piece of River Rock card stock with the Perfect Pennants die and stamped the words from Happiest Birthday Wishes in Early Espresso. On a scrap piece of River Rock I stamped the car in Early Espresso and then added some highlights with the River Rock marker and cut it out. The pennant and the card are popped up on the card.

Don't forget to stop by the Create with Connie and Mary site to see even more super great inspiration. Then make your own creation using the sketch provided. Be sure to upload it to the website so that we can all take a look and get even more inspired! I always love to see what you all come up with! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

SASC 106

Good morning, Friends! It's a BIG day around here! The first day of school!! And not just school but Middle School! Yikes! Nick is really pretty excited about it but he sure had to get up early this morning and that just doesn't sit well for someone who likes to sleep half the day away - lol! I am excited for him!

Today's card was inspired from a sketch at Stampin' Addicts. I did end up leaving off an element but I don't think it would have worked in this case. Actually, I looked at the sketch, did the card, took a picture and began to post before I realized that I had left it off. I do like the way it turned out, though! This stamp comes from a new set that will be in the upcoming Holiday mini catalog called Christmas Lodge. I really like this set! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

PPA 107

Good morning, Friends! This is my last morning to sleep in until the weekend! Last night was Nick's final night to stay up late! I can't believe that school starts tomorrow! Where did the summer go? He is excited to start Middle School but not so much for the school work. I hope he will look at it as a challenge to do his best. It is kind of weird to have school starting in the middle of the week. I have to keep reminding myself that tomorrow I will need to get up and get him ready. I am excited for him!!

Today's card is one that I put together yesterday. I used the sketch from Pals Paper Arts that you can find 'here'. I think it is a fun and interesting sketch! And pretty simple. Which is how I like them!! I decided to use the Strength & Hope set before it goes out. You still have a week to order this set and donate to the cause! Find a demonstrator today or contact me! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Summer Wisteria

Good morning, Friends! I guess I got to sleep in a little and it felt great! I could use a little more sleep as I seem to be yawning a lot!! Hopefully my coffee will help a little, too! We didn't get home real late last night. I think it is the five hour drive combined with a little too much sun and a lot of cheering!! The boys won the championship game!! It was so exciting! This is the first tournament these boys have won and they fought so hard and gave it their all! So they deserved it! I love this tournament anyway, but to have the boys win, well, that just makes it even better!! It's a good thing that school didn't start today. Now they can completely recover.

Today's card is another that I made a while ago. It is really super simple and the layout came from my friend, Becky. She had done a card similar to this in one of her card classes. I just changed it up a bit to use Stampin' Up! products and here is the result! Easy! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Pool Party Doily

Good morning, Friends! I hope you all are having a wonderful weekend! We have been in Colorado Springs while Nick's team is playing in a soccer tournament at the Air Force Academy. It is just so beautiful here! His team won their first two games yesterday!! They have one more this morning and if they win, they should be playing for the championship later today! That would be really exciting and a super way to start off the season! So we will be thinking good thoughts!!

Today's card is one that I did a while back. I was trying to copy a card out of the Holiday mini catalog. It turned out o.k. Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Control Freaks Holiday Mini Tour

Hello everyone! And welcome to another blog tour brought to you by the Control Freaks swap group! I hope you are ready to see some amazing projects because that is what you are going to get! Of course it is not hard to make amazing projects when you have amazing products to make them with! And Stampin' Up! has come up with the most fantastic Holiday mini catalog with awesome products and that is what the Control Freaks are using for this month's tour. I am so excited to share with you what I made! So you probably landed here from Mary Brown's blog. Isn't she just awesome? But if you landed here first, don't worry about it! Just keep making your way through the tour and you will end up where you started! Cool, huh! (Please note: if you are here before the 20th, all the links may not be working properly. Please come back here on the 20th and you will be able to go all the way through without any problems!)

The first project I want to share with you is a stocking! Take a look:

When I saw the stocking die in the Holiday mini catalog I did hesitate to put it on my order! How cute is this?! And I have so many more ideas to do with it! For this project, I cut two main stocking parts with the new Christmas Lodge designer paper (love this stuff). Then I cut the stocking detail pieces with Whisper White and ran them through the Big Shot with the new Snow Burst embossing folder. I glued the stockings together making sure to leave it open in the middle for a little gift! Here is a close-up of some of the details:
I was going to put candy in my stocking but I didn't have any Christmas candy around so I took some of my newer blender pens and tied them together with the Cherry Cobbler baker's twine and added a tiny jingle bell. How cute are these mini jingle bells?!!! Love them!! I also added a bit of Cherry Cobbler satin quilted ribbon (also from the new Holiday mini) as a little "hook" for my stocking. I had it all put together and realized that I should have added a brad where the ribbon was. So instead, I put a rhinestone jewel there. I think this stocking die will be very popular!!

My next project is a simple Christmas card. Take a look:

I really like this new stamp set called Christmas Lodge. It is so pretty! I started with the focal point on this one. I stamped the house in Early Espresso on Crumb Cake and then the greeting below it in Garden Green and Cherry Cobbler (I used my markers). I left enough room in between the two stamped images for some of that gorgeous Cherry Cobbler satin quilted ribbon. Then I scalloped the bottom. The card base is Cherry Cobbler with another piece of Cherry Cobbler textured card stock that has two brads. Then there is a piece of Early Espresso card stock and the focal point is popped up on that. I hope that all made sense - lol! If not, shoot me an e-mail and I will try to clear it all up.

I hope you enjoyed my projects as much as I did making them! It is time now to send you on to LeeAnn's blog to see her amazing creations! I know that you will have a long list of goodies to get when this Holiday mini goes live on September 1!! Enjoy the tour!!

Good Friday morning, Friends! Are you ready for the weekend? I am!! We are heading out this afternoon for Colorado Springs for a soccer tournament. The tournament takes place at the Air Force Academy. It is SO beautiful there! And we are all ready to get out of town! But before that happens I want to make sure you all know about the great sketch challenge from the team at Sketch Frenzy Friday! Check out the sketch that Angela Walters created:

And here is what I created using the sketch:

I rather like this one! To be honest, when I first saw the sketch, I wasn't sure what I could do with it. But then it came to me! Falling leaves! I started with my main panel. I stamped the background with the A to Z stamp in Pear Pizzazz on Confetti Cream card stock. I roughed up the edges with the distressing tool and then sponged Pear Pizzazz ink all the way around.  I stamped the greeting from Perfectly Penned in Cajun Craze and added two gold brads. This is glued to a piece of More Mustard. Then I used my piercer and poked holes around the main panel. This is popped up onto a Cajun Craze card base. I stamped the leaf image from Autumn Splendor three times on scrap Confetti Cream card stock in Pear Pizzazz, Cajun Craze, and More Mustard and cut them out. These are popped up on the front of the card.

And there you have it! Click 'here' to go to Jennifer's blog and see her creation! I hope that you will find some time this week to play along with our sketch challenge. I always love to see what you all come up with! I really do get inspired, too! Be sure to upload your creation at the Sketch Frenzy Friday blog! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

CCMC 163

Good morning everyone! I hope you are ready for another fantastic challenge with the team at Create with Connie and Mary! This week is a color challenge. And what fantastic colors they are! Check 'em out!
Aren't they pretty?! I love them together! The colors are Tangerine Tango, So Saffron, and Pacific Point. I do have to confess that Pacific Point really scares me! It's a pretty color but I have a really hard time using it. So check out what I finally came up with:
I do like the way it turned out, though. I started with a card base of Tangerine Tango, then added a piece of So Saffron. The next layer is a piece of Tangerine Tango that went through the Big Shot with the Stripes embossing folder. Before I embossed the card stock, I used my brayer and Tangerine Tango ink to ink up one side of the folder. That's what gives the stripes a two-toned effect. For my focal point I inked the stamp from Friends Never Fade in Tangerine Tango and stamped it on Whisper White and then cut around it. I also stamped the flower from the same set on Whisper White in So Saffron and cut it out. I punched a piece of Pacific Point with the dotted scallop ribbon punch and glued it behind so it just "peeked" out (remember, it scares me - lol). This is glued to another larger piece of Whisper White and then popped up onto the card. An antique brad is the flower center and the flower is shaped and popped up as well.

Be sure to visit the Create with Connie and Mary website for even more inspiration. Then I hope that you will take some time and participate in this week's challenge! I always enjoy seeing what you all come up! Thanks for stopping and have a super day!

Flower Fest Happiness

Good (early) morning, Friends! Didn't sleep well so I am up early. Ugh! But I guess that is good practice for the upcoming school year - lol! Nick got registered yesterday and I think he is becoming more excited about the school year starting! He found out that he has many of the same classes as one of his soccer teammates and we toured the school for just a bit to see where his classes were. I think that he is going to like having different teachers for different subjects. And his schedule really looks GREAT! All of his favorite classes are in the afternoon! What a way to end your day!

Today's card is one that I made quite a while ago. It is a really simple card but I just love these colors together! And I have to get in a few more that have stamps from the Summer mini as it will expire at the end of this month. I love the sayings in Happy Greetings. I will miss them! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Simple Strength

Good morning, Friends! I need to make this post a quick one. Today is the day Nick gets registered for Middle School! Yikes!! Yes, they do the registration most of the day but I thought I would like to get it over with early. Plus, I get to have lunch with a special friend!! I hope your week is going great so far. I can't believe how busy I am with projects. I need to get to work!!

Today's card is one that I made quite a while ago. It has just been sitting on my desk as I am not sure how I really feel about it. I believe that I got the colors from the Color Coach. And that is what I am not so sure about. I do like the simplicity of it. Anyway, I hope that it might inspire you! Thanks so much for stopping by and have a super day!

Birthday Wish

Good morning everyone! Here we are with another Monday! This will be the last full week of summer for students around this area. Tomorrow we will register him for Middle School! Not sure what that all means but I do know that they will be taking my money - lol! My guys made it back safely from their camping/fishing trip and it sounds like they had tons of fun! Nick took his unicycle up there and was riding it through the woods. Pat took video of it and boy, he is really good at riding that thing! He was riding over rocks and tree roots and down the hill then back up. He loves that thing! And I am glad!

Today's card is one that I put together really quick one day. I found a similar card in a magazine and thought that it was cute with the different layers and all. I am not sure how I feel about this one but it isn't horrible. I did take a few layers off than what the one in the magazine had. Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Fabulous Florets Center Step Card

Good Sunday morning everyone! I hope you are all having a super weekend! Mine has been wonderful! My guys will come home today from their camping/fishing trip. I am sure that they will want to take a nap and hopefully they will want to shower and clean up a bit, too! The demonstrator meeting went very well yesterday! Thanks to Sherry, Emily, Cheryl and Judy for putting it all together! We had awesome make-n-takes!! I just might have to show them this week!

Today's card was one that I did for the shoebox club that I am in. We meet on a monthly basis and this is the card that I prepared for them. I really like the way this one turned out! And it was fun to do something a little different than the traditional card. Other than the cuts and folds of the card, it really went together very easily! By the way, there are some really great instructions for this card 'here'. Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Paper Players 57

Good morning, Friends! I hope your weekend is off to a great start! My husband and son are out camping and fishing this weekend, so I have the whole house to myself!! They left yesterday and will be back sometime tomorrow! While I love having the house to myself, I find it hard to sleep at night. So I am a little tired this morning! Today is also our demonstrator team meeting! And I am in charge of refreshments!! After I get this posted I will be baking some goodies to take! Yum! It's probably a good thing that my boys aren't here to eat them before I leave - lol!

Today's card is the third of the projects that we made in stamp club this month. I really liked the way this one turned out. I used the sketch from The Paper Players. Turns out that it was from last month. It's still a great sketch! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

SFF 081211

Happy Friday everyone! It's time for another fun sketch from the team at Sketch Frenzy Friday! Take a look at the great sketch by Tina Munzke:

And here is what I came up with:

I ended up flipping my card so that I could get it all to fit. That's what I love about sketch challenges! And I am quite pleased with how this one turned out, too! I took some scrap Whisper White and stamped the pennants from Pennant Parade in Baja Breeze and punched them out. Then I stamped them again in Calypso Coral and punched out the inside, polka dot part and glued them together. Then I stamped the star in Daffodil Delight and punched them out with the 1/2" circle punch. Then I added a mini brad to each and popped them up on the pennants. I used my 1/16" hole punch to punch holes in each pennant to string the white baker's twine through. Then I stamped the greeting in Baja Breeze and punch it out with the Word Window punch and notched one end. For the panel, I cut down a piece of Calypso Coral and ran it through the Big Shot using the Stripes embossing folder and glued it to a piece of Daffodil Delight. The pennants are glued to the panel and the ends of the baker's twine is taped behind. Then I wrapped a piece of Baja Breeze narrow taffeta ribbon around that and tied a knot. This is popped up on a Baja Breeze card base.

And there you have it! To continue through the tour, click 'here' to see what wonderful creation Jennifer has made. Continue all the way through the tour to get inspired and then be sure to upload your project to the Sketch Frenzy Friday blog so that we can all see! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

CCMC 162

Good morning everyone! It's time to get busy with another great challenge from Create with Connie and Mary! This week they are challenging us with a fantastic sketch! Take a look:

Isn't it great?! So many possibilities but here is what I came up with:

Since my husband's birthday is coming up, I realized that I really don't make many masculine cards. And my son is getting older (he is too old for the cutesy look, anyway), so I thought I would go in a different direction than flowers and bows. I really do like the way it turned out, too! I started out with a card base of Crumb Cake. On that I used a stamp from the Extreme Elements set and stamped it in Crumb Cake and then sponged around the card with Crumb Cake ink. For the circles I took a piece of Crumb Cake and ran it through the Big Shot using my 3" circle die and to make the Basic Black circle I used my circle scissors plus. I stamped on the Crumb Cake circle with the Extreme Elements set in Crumb Cake ink and then sponged with Crumb Cake. Then I stamped my birthday greeting from Happiest Birthday Wishes in black StazOn. This circle was then glued to the black one. Now you really can't tell from the photo, but I took my piercing tool and pierced holes along the edge of the Basic Black circle and then used my distressing tool and distressed the edges. Before the circles were glued to the card I added two black brads. To the top of the card I glued a strip of designer paper from the Neutrals paper stack. Then I took a strip of Basic Black card stock and ran it through the Big Shot using the Tasteful Trim die and glued that right on the edge of the designer paper. The last thing I did was to stamp the ATV from the Need for Speed stamp set on Crumb Cake card stock in black StazOn. I did add some highlights with the Crumb Cake marker. This is popped up on the card!

Be sure to check out the Create with Connie and Mary website to see more great inspiration! Then go and create your own project using the sketch provided and upload it to their website so that we can all see! I do love to see what you come up with! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Friendly, Flirtatious Doily

Good morning, Friends! Wow! We are halfway through another week! School is not that far away! I may have to start training myself to get up early. And we need to finish up the school supply shopping. I always hate to go when I know that there will be a huge crowd doing the same thing. Reminds me of Christmas shopping. Yuck! I like to go and look and take my time without people pushing me. Well, I guess I will have to deal with it.

Today's card was another one that we did for stamp club this past Monday. I really love the way this one turned out. The center part of this card can actually be punched out with the Doily triple layer punch. I cut mine out, but at the workshop, we tried the punch. There is a trick to it, but it does work! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

SSSC 129

Good morning, Friends! I hope your week is off to a fantastic start! I had stamp club with a great group of ladies last night. It ended up being our last meeting together and most decided to take some time off. So we will dis-band for now, but I do hope we will get together real soon! I do want to thank every one of them for being so great to work with!! I had so much fun! Last night while I was doing my Stampin' Up! thing, my son's soccer team was playing a scrimmage against an older team. They did lose, but Nick got to play in goal and it sounds like he did a pretty fantastic job in goal (being his first time)! I can't wait to see him do it in a real game!! It seems that he even stopped a penalty kick! Way to go Nick!!

Today's card is one that I did for my stamp club last night. I used Karen Giron's Sweet Sunday Sketch for this one. The color inspiration came from the Color Coach. I wanted to use some product from the Summer mini catalog to remind everyone that it ends this month!! So, if you see something from the Summer mini that you can't live without, make sure to order it before August 31!! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

SC 344

Good Sunday morning, Friends! I got to sleep a little later this morning and it was nice! I am still in Denver but we will be heading home today. Nick got up earlier and headed down to breakfast so that he could get a little more swim time in. I thought I would post this real quick like and then get ready so that I can get me some breakfast, too. Thankfully, Pat will take him swimming! I just cannot stand to be in that pool room! It is SO crazy hot and humid in there!!

Today's card was inspired from the sketch over at Stampin' Addicts. I really liked the simplicity of it and thought that you could use the little scraps of designer paper on this! Very easy!! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!!

TSSC 185

Good morning, everyone! I hope you are all ready for a great weekend! We will be leaving later this morning for Denver to go see the Rockies play! I LOVE going to see them play and it is always better when the win. So, hopefully they will!! I do have to make this quick as I need to get everything ready...

Today's card was inspired by the sketch from Mary Jo. I was also inspired by the card that was done with this stamp set in the new catalog. So I kind of combined them both to come up with this! And I think it turned out pretty good! It is hard to tell, but I did sponge some Whisper White craft ink on my So Saffron layer. Not sure why. Just thought it might be cool but now you can't even see it. Oh, well! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Card Recipe: Stamps- Just Believe; Paper- Chocolate Chip, So Saffron, Wild Wasabi, Whisper White; Ink- Wild Wasabi, Pool Party, Chocolate Chip, Whisper White craft; Accessories- Pool Party ruffled ribbon, silver brad, Tasteful Trim die, Square Lattice embossing folder, neutrals buttons, white baker's twine, sponge, dimensionals

Happy Friday, everyone! The Sketch Frenzy Friday team has a great challenge for you today! Today's sketch comes from Jennifer Weide. Take a look:

So many possibilities on this one! But here is what I finally decided on:

Cute, huh?! I do like the way this one turned out! And it is SO super simple! I got my color inspiration from the Color Coach. I started out with a card base of Concord Crush. Then I cut down a smaller piece of Pear Pizzazz. The strip is Whisper White and I stamped the greeting from Flight of the Butterfly in Concord Crush. On a scrap of Whisper White, I stamped the solid butterfly in Concord Crush and cut it out (I really need to get the punch), and the smaller butterfly in Peach Parfait and cut it out, too. Under the Whisper White strip I punched out two strips of Peach Parfait using the dotted scallop ribbon border punch. I love the look of the scallops "peeking" from underneath! I stamped the second part of the greeting on the Pear Pizzazz piece in Concord Crush. The strip is glued to the Pear Pizzazz and then that is popped up on the card. The butterflies are glued together and then to the strip. I also added a Peach Parfait flower that was punched with the itty bitty shapes punch pack with a rhinestone in the middle.

Please go and see what Jennifer has done with her sketch 'here'. Be sure to keep going through the tour to see what the design team has done and to get inspired! We have a few new members to our team and they are fantastic! I do hope that you will have some time this next week to join us in our sketch challenge! I always love to see what you come up with so be sure to upload your creation to the Sketch Frenzy Friday blog! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

CMC 161

Hello everyone! It's time, once again, for another fabulous challenge at Create with Connie and Mary! This week we are being challenged with a great color combination! Take a look:

Happy colors, aren't they?! Most probably don't think of black as a "happy" color, but I love to use black as it can make other colors "pop"! And I feel like that is what it did on my card. Take a look:

So, the challenge colors are Basic Black, Daffodil Delight, and Old Olive. I started with a card base of Old Olive. Then I glued down a piece of Basic Black. For the focal point I stamped the trees from the Lovely As A Tree stamp set on a scrap piece of typing paper and cut right at the horizon. This created a mask for me that I used for sponging. But first I stamped the trees on Very Vanilla card stock using black StazOn. Then I masked off the sky and sponged Old Olive on the grass part. Then I masked off the grass part and sponged Daffodil Delight on the sky part making sure it was darker at the horizon and gradually got lighter at the top. Then I glued it to a piece of Basic Black card stock and tore the bottom at an angle. I put in two silver brads to the left and glued this to a piece of Old Olive. I stamped a greeting in black StazOn from Friendly Phrases on the right hand side of the Old Olive panel and then popped it all up on the Basic Black. And there you have it!

So now I highly recommend that you all visit the Create with Connie and Mary website to get even more inspiration from the very talented design team. Then make your own wonderful creation and upload it to their site so that we can all have a look. I always love to see what others come up with! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Good morning, Friends! Wow, halfway through another week! Nick commented on how fast the days seem to go. I hope he still feels the same way when I have to get him up in just a few minutes - lol! He is SO not a morning person. But this is good for him so that he can start preparing for school that starts in just a few short weeks! Need to get the last minute school shopping done...

Today's card comes from the sketch at Clean&Simple.  They made a square card but I stretched it out and made a regular sized card. I do like the way it turned out! I went to my Color Coach for these colors of Wild Wasabi, Chocolate Chip and So Saffron. Then added a tiny bit of Pool Party. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your day!

Card Recipe: Stamps- Create a Cupcake; Paper- Wild Wasabi, Chocolate Chip, Whisper White, Pool Party, Just Add Cake designer paper; Ink- So Saffron, Wild Wasabi, Chocolate Chip; Accessories- itty bitty shapes punch pack, basic rhinestones, cupcake builder punch, dimensionals

Another July Swap

Good morning, Friends! I hope your week has gotten off to a great start! I have had a migraine since Saturday that I just can't seem to shake. It is SO annoying!! With a schedule like we have, I just can't slow down so I find a way to keep going. Ugh! Nick is sure enjoying goalie camp! I am glad that he is finding a new challenge to try. It will be fun to see him do it in a game! Well, I will probably be a nervous wreck - lol!

Today's card is another one that I did for a recent swap I was in. I really like the way this one turned out! I got the layout from My Favorite Things. I also really like the color scheme which came from the Color Coach. The flower and leaves are stamped in Basic Gray and then colored in with markers. Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!
