Freaky Smooches

Good morning, Friends! I hope you are all having a great start to a fantastic weekend! We are hoping to have two great soccer games this weekend! The coach decided that he wanted to boys to play in the State Cup tournament. That means several games in the next few weeks. And if they play well and win then we continue on. So here's hoping to the boys playing their best!! At least the weather looks like it will cooperate with us -lol! Now to get rid of my sinus headache...

Today's card is one that I did for a recent swap that I participated in - The Control Freaks Swap group. I love being a part of this group! I get some of the most awesome cards ever!!! I started with a card base of Island Indigo and then added a piece of Daffodil Delight that was run through the Big Shot with the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder. I took a smaller piece of Island Indigo and added a piece of the Summer Smooches designer paper. This panel is popped up onto the card. Then I made a tag from Whisper White card stock. I stamped the floral image from the Bright Blossoms stamp set using my Lucky Limeade and Daffodil Delight markers. On a scrap piece of Whisper White I stamped the leaves in Lucky Limeade, the vase in Daffodil Delight and the flower in Island Indigo. I cut these all out by hand. The vase is glued flat but the leaves and flower are popped up onto the tag. Then I punched a half circle from scrap Whisper White and adhered it to the top of the tag and punched a hole for my Daffodil Delight ribbon. Around the ribbon I tied a piece of white baker's twine. The tag is popped up onto the card. Then I took a strip of Whisper White and stamped the greeting from Teeny Tiny Wishes and flagged one end. This is attached to the tag. My final touch was a rhinestone just above the flower! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Card Recipe: Stamps- Bright Blossoms, Teeny Tiny Wishes; Paper- Island Indigo, Daffodil Delight, Whisper White, Summer Smooches designer paper; Ink- Daffodil Delight, Lucky Limeade, Island Indigo; Accessories- Daffodil Delight seam binding ribbon, white baker's twine, rhinestone, Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder, dimensionals

Good morning everyone and TGIF!!! Are you ready for a great weekend? Well, I hope to help you get off to a great weekend by presenting you with the newest sketch challenge at Sketch Frenzy Friday! This week's sketch was created by Tammy Fite. Take a look!

Super interesting and fun! I seem to always have trouble with things at a diagonal but I do like how this one turned out. Take a look!

Now it is probably really hard to see but I used by Simply Scored tool to make the diagonal lines. It is really kind of cool! So I scored the lines on my card base of Calypso Coral. I stamped the sentiment from Perfectly Penned in the lower right hand side of the card in Soft Suede. Then on a scrap piece of Very Vanilla I stamped the image from Fresh Vintage in Calypso Coral three times. I cut these out and adhered them to pieces of Soft Suede that were punched with the Postage Stamp punch. Then I added a brad to each of the flower centers from the Everyday Enchantment ribbon and brad pack. The two left hand squares are glued flat and the middle one is popped up on the card.

Remember that this is a blog hop so be sure to click 'here' to see what Jennifer has created with this sketch. Keep going through the tour to get inspired and then be sure to create your own project using the sketch provided. Upload it to the Sketch Frenzy Friday blog so that we can all take a look! We always love to see what you come up with! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

CCMC 195

Good morning, Friends! It's time to be challenge by our friends at Create with Connie and Mary! This week we are being challenged with color. Take a look at these colors!

Poppy Parade, So Saffron and Basic Grey. Now who would have thought about putting those colors together? Certainly not me. But it all came together surprisingly easy for me. Here is what I created!

Not too bad, eh? I kept the layout very simple (my middle name - lol). I was actually inspired by a layout in the catalog. I love yellow and grey together but putting the red in there with them just threw me. But I do love the final result! My card base is Basic Grey. Then I took a piece of Whisper White and round the top corners with a corner rounder. I took it to the Big Shot and used the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder. I took a strip of So Saffron and used the scallop edge border punch on it and tucked it behind the white panel before popping it up on the card. Then I stamped the tea cup from Tea Shoppe in Poppy Parade onto a scrap of Whisper White and cut it out. This, too, is popped up on the card. Then I took a strip of Whisper White and stamped the sentiment in Basic Grey. My final touch was to add three little pearls to the flower centers. I flagged one end and tucked the other under the tea cup. Easy!!

Make sure to stop by the Create with Connie and Mary site to see more wonderful inspiration! Then create your own project using these colors and upload it to the site so that we can all look, too! I do love to see what you all come up with! Such wonderful talent out there!! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Retro #4

Good morning, Friends! I hope your week is going great! Nick went back to school with a little bit of the allergies hanging on but seemed to do just fine. It really helps when the wind machine is turned off - lol! The news last night had said that we were in for a bad allergy season this year. Oh joy!

Today's card was inspired by the sketch challenge at Retro Sketches. This is a newer sketch challenge blog (this is their 4th challenge). I discovered them while browsing different blogs. Their sketches are very simple in design and I find that I can even use their older sketches! Very fun! Anyway, I used my Create a Cupcake stamp set and coordinating Cupcake Builder punch for this card. I stamped the cupcake bottom in Baja Breeze and the cupcake top in So Saffron onto scrap pieces of Whisper White and punched them out. These were popped up onto a 1 3/4" circle of Whisper White which was adhered to a circle that was die cut from So Saffron using the circles #2 die and then adhered to a 2 3/8" scallop circle of Poppy Parade. My card base is Whisper White. I added a strip of designer paper from the Just Add Cake paper pack and flagged one end. I popped up the circle element onto the card. Then I stamped the greeting in Poppy Parade onto a strip of Whisper White and flagged both ends of this before popping it up onto the card. My final touch was to punch a flower from Poppy Parade using the itty bitty shapes punch pack and add a rhinestone. Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

SSC 248

Good morning, Friends! Boy did we have a windy day around here yesterday! No wonder Nick didn't feel good. His allergies were at an all time high! Now today I am feeling my sinuses acting up, too. Ugh! The dust was blowing so thick all day long! I really hate the wind like that! But now it should be calm and nice. If we could get some rain that would help settle it all...

Today's card was inspired by the sketch challenge at Stamping 411. I like these kinds of sketches where you can show off some of our beautiful designer papers! But which one to show off - lol! I decided on the Mocha Morning specialty papers. I haven't used them in a while and this one is flocked. It is so pretty that I don't want to cover it up so this design is perfect! My card base is Crumb Cake. Then I cut another piece of Crumb Cake down a bit and added a layer of Basic Black and then the beautiful designer paper from Mocha Morning. I tied a piece of Basic Black satin ribbon around this panel. Then I stamped the sentiment from Sincere Salutations and added three rhinestones before popping the panel up onto the card base. A very simple card! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

TESC 151

Good morning, Friends! I hope you all had a fabulous weekend and are ready for another great week! Seems like the weekend went way too fast for me! Time to get my priorities in line and start chipping away at each chore. Now Nick has woke up and is trying to tell us that he isn't feeling well. Hmmm... I know he's tired but is he really coming down with something? I really hope not.

Today's card was inspired by a sketch from Taylored Expressions. This is an older sketch of hers but I liked it and thought I should give it a try. I pulled out a set that I haven't used in a while, Trendy Trees, and the card came together pretty easily. I ran the front of my card base through the Big Shot with the Stripes embossing folder. Then I took a piece of designer paper from the Just Add Cake designer paper pack and adhered it to a piece of Wild Wasabi. This panel is popped up onto the card. Then I ran a piece of Early Espresso card stock through the Big Shot with the Perfect Pennants die to cut the scallop circle. I punched a 2 1/2" circle of Whisper White and stamped the sentiment from Trendy Trees in Early Espresso. I adhered this to the scallop circle and added two brads. I popped this up onto the card. I cut a thin strip of Early Espresso card stock and adhered it to the circle. Then I stamped the tree on a scrap of Whisper White (the trunk in Early Espresso and the tree top in Wild Wasabi) and cut it out. The tree is popped up onto the circle. And there you have it! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Card Recipe: Stamps- Trendy Trees; Paper- Whisper White, Wild Wasabi, Early Espresso, Just Add Cake designer paper; Ink- Early Espresso, Wild Wasabi; Accessories- Stripes embossing folder, Perfect Pennants die, 2 1/2" circle punch, metallic brads, dimensionals

FTL 183

Good morning, Friends! I hope you are all having a fabulous weekend! I can't believe that we are at the end of March! Spring has definitely sprung and it almost feels like summer! Yikes! What will this summer feel like? I got my first sunburn of the season yesterday. Nick was supposed to have a soccer game but the other team didn't show up. Don't ask me how mad we all are about that (this was the second time they stood us up). So the coach took the opportunity to practice a little with the boys and the parents got to chat and bask in the sun! It was a gorgeous day!! Today will be much of the same and Nick has baseball practice. I had better put the sun block on today!

Today's card was inspired by the layout at clean&simple. I got to playing with the sketch and came up with the idea of making a sunflower! I am really into sunflowers (maybe because of where I am from - lol). I cut a scallop circle from Daffodil Delight with the scallop circles #2 die. The scallops by themselves were not much of a flower look for me so I cut into each scallop and that satisfied me! Then I punched a circle from Early Espresso card stock with the 2 1/2" circle punch and ran it through the Big Shot with the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder. I adhered these together and glued the flower to the card base of Whisper White. Part of the flower hangs off the card and so I cut the remainder off. I free hand cut a stem from Lucky Limeade card stock and tucked it under the flower. I used the Blossom Builder punch to punch a leaf from Lucky Limeade and crinkled it a bit before adhering to the card. I stamped the greeting from Thank You Kindly in Early Espresso onto a strip of Whisper White. I flagged one end. This is popped up onto the card. Then I used a piece of Tangerine Tango to cut some butterflies with the Beautiful Wings embosslit. I picked one and added a mini brad and popped it up beside the sentiment. Something different but very fun! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Card Recipe: Stamps- Thank You Kindly; Paper- Whisper White, Daffodil Delight, Early Espresso, Lucky Limeade, Tangerine Tango; Ink- Early Espresso; Accessories- Beautiful Wings embosslit, Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder, Blossom Builder punch, Scallop Circles #2 die, 2 1/2" circle punch, mini brad, dimensionals

ISSC 08

Good morning everyone! Are you glad it's the weekend? We have the usual soccer game today and then baseball practice tomorrow but otherwise we are looking forward to possibly spending lots of time outside in this wonderful weather! Tomorrow it is supposed to get windy and then maybe get some rain? I hope we do get some rain. Just wait until after all the sports activities - lol! I did get quite a bit of stamping done this past week. That felt good!

Today's card was inspired by a sketch at iSpy Sketches. This is quite a different look for me but I had fun with it! And it gave me a chance to use up some of that beautiful Sale-A-Bration products before they are discontinued! My card base is Very Vanilla. Then I took a piece of Everyday Enchantment designer paper and cut it at a diagonal. I mounted these onto pieces of Soft Suede that were cut the same way. These are adhered to the card base. Then I took a smaller piece of Very Vanilla and mounted it to a piece of Soft Suede. For my focal point I stamped a piece of Very Vanilla with the Fresh Vintage stamp set using Peach Parfait, Lucky Limeade and Pool Party markers. Then I took it to the Big Shot and cut it out using my Labels framelits dies. I took the cut shape and sent it back through the Big Shot using the Designer Frames embossing folder (a fun technique I saw someone else use). This is popped up onto the Very Vanilla panel. Then I stamped the sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes in Soft Suede onto a Very Vanilla strip and flagged one end. The other end is adhered behind the stamped image. I added two little strips of ribbon behind the Soft Suede Panel and popped this up onto the card. Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

SFF 032312

Good morning everyone! Here is the newest challenge from Sketch Frenzy Friday! Take a look at this fun sketch created by Patrice Herrera.

This was a super fun sketch for me to work with! I did place some of the elements on the opposite side but that's what worked for me! Take a look at what I came up with!

I decided that I needed use up some of the SAB products! The freebies end at the end of this month. I hope you have gotten yours! Anyway, I took a piece of Very Vanilla and ran it through the Big Shot twice - once using the Adorning Accents edgelits scallop die and the second time using the Adorning Accents edgelits scallop embossing folder. This is adhered to the top of a panel that consists of a piece of designer paper from the Everyday Enchantment pack which is adhered to a piece of Calypso Coral card stock. Then I tied a piece of Pool Party seam binding ribbon around the top and popped it up onto a card base of Very Vanilla. I took a piece of Very Vanilla card stock and stamped the image from Sprinkled Expressions with Calypso Coral ink and round the corners. This is adhered to a piece of Calypso Coral card stock that has all the corners round, too. I popped this panel up onto the card. Then I stamped the greeting in Calypso Coral onto a Very Vanilla scrap and punched it out with the 1 3/8" circle punch. This is adhered to the focal panel. I used the itty bitty shapes punch pack and punched a flower from Pool Party and added it to the greeting. I also added a few rhinestones to the flowers.

I hope that you were inspired! Please take some time and check out what the other designers did with this fun sketch! Click 'here' to see what Jennifer did. And be sure to upload your creation to the Sketch Frenzy Friday blog so that we can all see what you do with this sketch! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

CCMC 194

Good morning everyone! I am here to bring you the latest challenge from the lovely ladies at Create with Connie and Mary! This week we are being challenged with a sketch. Take a look at this super fun sketch!

It's pretty clean and simple and I wanted to keep mine the same. So here is what I came up with!

I always love the look of white on white or even color on color so that is what I did here. Lots of white!! I took a piece of Whisper White that was cut a little smaller than my card base of Whisper White. I adhered a strip of Whisper White that was run through the Big Shot using the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder. Then I tied a piece of Wisteria Wonder ruffled ribbon around the left side of my card. This panel is popped up onto the card base. Then I took a piece of Whisper White and a piece of Elegant Eggplant and ran them through the Big Shot using the framelits dies. I stamped the smallest stamp from Apothecary Art in Wisteria Wonder and cut it out by hand. I stamped the image again on scrap Whisper White with black StazOn and colored it in using a blender pen and Lucky Limeade, Wisteria Wonder, Elegant Eggplant and Pool Party inks. I punched out the center and popped it up onto the original image. The labels are all adhered together and then popped up onto the card. I added three rhinestones to finish it off.

Be sure to stop by the Create with Connie and Mary site to see what all the other designers did with this sketch. Then create your own project and upload it so we can all see! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Attic Teacup

Good morning, Friends! I hope your week is going super! It sure is going fast! Not anything exciting going on around here. I just need to do some catching up.

Today's card was inspired by one that Becky did for her card class this month. I loved that I could use up some of my scraps from the Attic Boutique designer paper pack. And it is a simple card! I took a piece of Whisper White card stock and stamped the greeting from Tea Shoppe in Soft Suede. On a scrap piece of Whisper White I stamped the teacup in Pool Party and cut it out. I popped it up next to the greeting. Then I took strips of designer paper from the Attic Boutique designer paper pack and flagged the ends. Then I glued them down onto the panel. I tied a piece of Pool Party seam binding ribbon around the top before adhering it to the card base of Whisper White. I finished it off with a flower that was punched from Daffodil Delight using the itty bitty shapes punch pack and a pearl. Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Vintage Calypso

Good morning, Friends! We are up early and trying to get back into our regular school routine. Ugh! It's hard! But I know that these next few weeks are going to fly by and then we will be looking at summer break! So I will just try to enjoy each day as it comes! I am hoping to get a lot done while Nick is at school.

Today's card was inspired by one I saw on Pinterest. It is a very simple card! I wanted to use some SAB products as the time is counting down on that! My card base is Very Vanilla with a  piece of Soft Suede adhered to it. Then I took a piece of Very Vanilla and stamped the border image from Fresh Vintage in Soft Suede and tied some Calypso Coral ribbon from the Everyday Enchantment ribbon and brad pack around it. Just below that I stamped the greeting from Teeny Tiny Wishes in Soft Suede. This panel is popped up onto the card. Then I took a scrap of Very Vanilla and stamped the image from Fresh Vintage in Calypso Coral and cut it out by hand. I adhered it to a piece of Calypso Coral that was punched with the Postage Stamp punch. Then I put a brad from the Everyday Enchantment ribbon and brad pack through the flower center. This is popped up onto the card. Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

FMS 26

Good morning, Friends! This is the last morning that we can sleep in. Well, except for the weekends. School starts back up tomorrow and it will be the countdown to summer break. Wow!! Time sure does fly, doesn't it! Nick has had a busy schedule and I am ready for him to get back to school so I can get some things done - lol! Last night it snowed. Ugh! So it is really cold today but the rest of the week should warm up nicely!

Today's card was inspired from the sketch challenge at Freshly Made Sketches. A very simple sketch! Love these! This one came together very easily, too! My card base is Lucky Limeade. Then I took another piece of Lucky Limeade to the Big Shot and ran it through with the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder. On top of this I added a piece of designer paper from the Summer Smooches pack and then tied a piece of Lucky Limeade ribbon from the Everyday Enchantment ribbon and brad pack. This panel is popped up onto the card. Then I punched a circle from Whisper White using the 2 1/2" circle punch. I stamped the image and greeting from Lean on Me in black StazOn. I used a blender pen and Lucky Limeade, Daffodil Delight, Rich Razzleberry and Blush Blossom to color in the girl. The circle is popped up onto the card. I added a few rhinestones to finish it off. Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

PPA 131

Good morning, Friends! It seems that our nice spring weather has turned nasty. Ugh! Yesterday Nick had a soccer game and the poor boys had to fight hurricane force winds. Today Nick has a baseball game and it looks like the winds will be more of the same. Yuck! As a parent and spectator, it is no fun sitting in all this wind either. The baseball games are just scrimmages so I hope he has fun anyway and I hope the rain stays off until we are done! But I do hope it rains because we need the moisture badly!!

Today's card was inspired by a great sketch at Pals Paper Arts. I liked the simplicity of it. And I decided to keep my stamping to a minimum and very simple. I started with a card base of Very Vanilla and adhered a strip of designer paper from the Everyday Enchantment pack. Then I stamped the teacup from Tea Shoppe in Peach Parfait onto Very Vanilla and adhered that to a piece of Soft Suede. This is popped up on the card. I took a strip of Very Vanilla and stamped the greeting in Soft Suede and adhered that to the card. I added some pearls to the flower centers and there you have it! Very simple!! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

TSSC 212

Good morning, Friends! I can't believe we have finished up spring break around here! Don't dare tell Nick, though. He will say that he doesn't have to be back at school until Tuesday so he is technically still enjoying the break! Lol!! And enjoyed he has! I feel like I need a spring break from all the running around I have had to do for him!! He does have quite the social life! But I am glad that he has not just sat around and watched t.v. or played video games the entire time.

So yesterday I needed to get a quick card done for the blog today. I remembered that Mary Jo had a quick sketch challenge so I whipped this up! And easy it was!! I glued a strip of designer paper from the Summer Smooches pack onto a Lucky Limeade card base. Then I took another strip of dsp from the same pack and flagged both ends before adhering it onto the other strip. I stamped the sentiment from Bring On the Cake in black StazOn in the lower right hand corner of the card and colored in the word cake with a Lucky Limeade marker. Then I took a piece of Whisper White to the Big Shot and cut the largest oval from the ovals die. I stamped the greeting from Bring on the Cake in black StazOn and colored in the letters with Lucky Limeade, Daffodil Delight and Real Red. I added three silver brads and popped this up onto the card. Super easy and a fun quick birthday card! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

SFF 031612

Good morning, Friends! Are you all ready for a great weekend? I can't believe that spring break is over and my son will be starting the last quarter of school next week! Wow! I hope you will find some time to play along with us at Sketch Frenzy Friday! This week's sketch was created by Sharon Wheet. Take a look!

Lots of fun elements on this one!! And here is what I did with her sketch!

This picture doesn't show all the details so I will try to explain them. I started with a card base of Whisper White. Then I took another piece of Whisper White and ran it through the Big Shot with the Adorning Accents edgelits (the scallop one). Then I tied a piece of Island Indigo ruffled ribbon around that before glueing it to the card base. On top of this I added a panel of Attic Boutique designer paper that was adhered to a piece of Daffodil Delight card stock. On top of that I adhered a piece of Whisper White that was run through the Big Shot with the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder. For the flower - I punched two flowers from Whisper White using the Blossom punch. On one flower I made two cuts on each petal and then glued the two flowers together. I punched another flower from Lucky Limeade and cut off two petals to make the leaves. The flower was popped up on the card. Then I used the Blossom Bouquet triple layer punch to punch a flower from Island Indigo. I added this to the center with a Daffodil Delight button and some white baker's twine. Then I stamped the greeting from Friendly Phrases in Island Indigo and punched it out with a circle punch. This is also popped up onto the card.

CCMC 193

Good morning everyone! I hope you are having a fantastic week! Today is Thursday and time for another great challenge with the wonderful ladies at Create with Connie and Mary! This week we are being challenged with color. Take a look at these fantastic colors!

The challenge colors are Peach Parfait, Lucky Limeade and Pool Party. And here is what I came up with!

I found a simple layout in a magazine to help me bring this card together. I started with a card base of Lucky Limeade. Then I took another piece of Lucky Limeade and stamped the border stamp from Fresh Vintage along the bottom in Lucky Limeade. This is adhered to the card base. For my focal point, I took a piece of Very Vanilla and stamped the floral image from the same set in Peach Parfait, Pool Party and Lucky Limeade. I rounded the top right hand corner and tied some Lucky Limeade ribbon around the panel. Below, I stamped the greeting from Friendly Phrases in Lucky Limeade. This panel is popped up onto the card. My final touch was to add a flower that was punched from Peach Parfait with the itty bitty shapes punch pack and add a pearl.

Be sure to stop by the Create with Connie and Mary site to see what the other fabulous designers came up with. Then create your own project and upload it so we can all see, too! We always love to see what you all do with the challenges! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Delightful Smooches

Good morning everyone! Wow! It's Wednesday already! With my headache yesterday, I didn't get much done but I am ready to get something done today. So we will see.

Today's card was inspired by one I saw while browsing through some old magazines. It was a simple layout and one that I thought worked great to show off our new Smooches preview! I took a piece of Whisper White card stock that was cut just a little shorter than the card base of Whisper White and adhered two strips of the Summer Smooches designer paper. In the middle I adhered a piece of Island Indigo. Then I tied a piece of the Daffodil Delight seam binding ribbon around the top and popped it up on the card base. Then I took another smaller piece of Whisper White and rounded the corners. I used my Island Indigo, Lucky Limeade and Daffodil Delight markers to ink up the vase and flowers from the Bright Blossoms set and stamped it. Then I stamped the greeting from Friendly Phrases in Island Indigo. This panel is popped up on the card. I needed a little sparkle so I added one little rhinestone to the flower. Easy! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Poppy Car Parade

Good morning, Friends! I hope your week is off to a great start! I am up earlier than I want to be - ugh! I seem to be getting a migraine. So I am trying to nurse it before it gets too bad. Hard to sleep anyway because of the pain. So I took some pills and now I am drinking some coffee and hope it will subside soon. I did get some stamping done yesterday. Not much but some. So I will be trying to get a little more done today.

Today's card was inspired by one I saw in a PaperCrafts magazine. I think this issue was an older one but the card still caught my eye. It was simple and masculine. My card base is Poppy Parade and I stamped the splatter from Extreme Elements onto it in Poppy Parade. Then I took two strips of Basic Black and ran them through the Big Shot with the Tasteful Trim die. I adhered these to the back of a strip of Whisper White. On that I stamped the greeting from Happiest Birthday Wishes in black StazOn. I added two silver brads before adhering to the card base. On a scrap of Whisper White I stamped the car from Need for Speed in black StazOn and used the Poppy Parade marker to outline the car. I cut it out and popped it up onto the card. Done! Told you it was easy!! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Delightful Smooches

Good morning, Friends! It's spring break around here and the weather is definitely going to cooperate with that! Most beautiful!! And we get to sleep in a little! Nick will still have various practices to attend but he will get to have the days to do whatever he can think of! For me I have to think about the laundry and grocery shopping today. And I really need to do some stamping. Yesterday was a really fun day of stitching and I even signed up for another class! Yikes!! I am really getting into this! I am thinking of starting another blog to show off the pieces that I have made. Of course I won't have as much to post because it does take a while to finish a piece. But it might be fun! I will keep you updated on that.

Today's card was inspired by one that I saw on Pinterest. I think that I did one like this before but I just love the grey and yellow! And I got a new stamp set, Bright Blossoms. This set will be in the upcoming 2012-2013 catalog but customers will be able to order it in April!! And it isn't just a stamp set. It's the beautiful Daffodil Delight seam binding ribbon and the designer paper along with some other goodies!! So be sure to ask your demonstrator about it!! For my card I started with a card base of Basic Grey. Then I stamped the Bright Blossoms with Daffodil Delight and Lucky Limeade markers onto a piece of Whisper White. This is adhered to the card base. I took another piece of Whisper White and punched a 1 3/4" circle on the right hand side and stamped the greeting on the left hand side from Friendly Phrases in Basic Grey. I added a piece of the Summer Smooches designer paper to the bottom part and rounded the corners on the bottom. I tied some of the new Daffodil Delight seam binding ribbon around the edge of the designer paper and popped this panel up on the card. My final touch was to add a flower that was punched from Daffodil Delight with the itty bitty shapes punch pack and a rhinestone. Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

TSSC 211

Good morning everyone! Boy that time change always throws me for a loop! I like to sleep in a little but then it is even later when I wake up! Oh well. I still have all of spring break to adjust. But I do need to get ready for the day. Becky and I are going to spend the afternoon working on our wool projects at the quilt store! And then the brackets are going to be announced this evening for the NCAA tournament!! Love March Madness!!

Today's card was inspired by Mary Jo. This time I decided to pull and dust off a set I haven't used in quite some time, Vintage Vogue. I used some of the colors from the Just Add Cake designer paper for inspiration as well. So I started off with a card base of Whisper White and stamped the leafy vine in Wild Wasabi two times. Then I added a strip of Early Espresso card stock with one end flagged. On scrap pieces of Whisper White I stamped the "Friends" twice - once in Blushing Bride and once in Early Espresso. I cut the Blushing Bride "F" out and the Early Espresso "Friends" out. I also stamped the flowers - the big one in Peach Parfait and two small ones in Baja Breeze. And I stamped the leaves in Wild Wasabi. I cut all these out and arranged them on my card. I added Early Espresso brads to the flower centers before adhering them with glue dots to the card. The "F" is popped up onto the card. Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

FMS 25

Good morning, Friends! Are you ready for a great weekend? We are going to have fantastic spring like weather here! Nick starts his soccer season this afternoon! I am excited to see how the team will do! And don't forget to change your clocks! Oh and spring break has started, too! Wow! When Nick goes back to school, he will be starting the fourth quarter. I can't believe how time is just flying by!

Today's card was inspired by a sketch at Freshly Made Sketches. I used this card for my shoebox swap this month, too. And it is a really simple card! The colors are not my usual but I found an unopened spool of Pink Pirouette taffeta ribbon and based my colors around that - lol! So I went with the colors in the Beau Chateau designer paper. My card base is Pink Pirouette with a strip of designer paper from the Attic Boutique pack. Then I stamped the tea cup from Tea Shoppe in Marina Mist onto Very Vanilla. I scalloped one end of that piece and tied a piece of Pink Pirouette taffeta ribbon around it. This is adhered to a piece of Marina Mist and then popped up onto the card. I stamped the sentiment onto a scrap of Very Vanilla in Soft Suede and punched it out with the 1 3/4" circle punch. I sponged the edges before adhering to the card. The last thing I did was to add some pearls to the tea cup. Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Good Friday morning everyone! My son will be the happiest boy around when school is out today! Spring break will have officially started!! He is looking forward to sleeping in and spending time just hanging out! I, too, look forward to sleeping in - lol! I do hope you are all ready for another fun sketch challenge at Sketch Frenzy Friday! This week's sketch was created by Robbie Rubala. Take a look!

This one came together quite easily for me. I love it when a plan works out!! Take a look!

I started with a card base of Very Vanilla then added a piece of Poppy Parade and another piece of Very Vanilla. The top corner is a piece of the Everyday Enchantment designer paper. For the lower panel, I cut another piece of Very Vanilla and stamped the image from Fresh Vintage using my Poppy Parade, Lucky Limeade and Pool Party markers. The greeting below the image is from Apothecary Art and is stamped in Poppy Parade. Then I added a strip of Poppy Parade that has both ends flagged. Then I stamped the flower image from Fresh Vintage in Poppy Parade and cut it out. I added a brad from the Everyday Enchantment ribbon and brad pack to the center and popped it up on the card. Simple!!

Please click 'here' to go to Jennifer's blog to see what she did with this sketch. I do hope that you will be able to play along with us at Sketch Frenzy Friday! We always love to see what you come up with! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

CCMC 192

Good morning, Friends! It's Thursday and I am happy to post another challenge from the gals at Create with Connie and Mary! This week we are being challenged with a sketch. Take a look at this fantastic sketch!

Isn't that just a wonderful sketch? I know I will be using this one again! So many possibilities and so clean and simple! So here is what I came up with!

I wanted to keep my card just as clean and simple as the sketch. So I decided to use a lot of color on color and this time it was Very Vanilla. My card base is Very Vanilla that was run through the Big Shot with the Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder. Then I cut a piece of Very Vanilla with the Labels framelits die and another piece of Very Vanilla with the Beautiful Butterflies die. Then I cut a piece of the Everyday Enchantment designer paper with the Beautiful Wings embosslit. The Label is popped up onto the card base. The butterflies were adhered together and then a mini brad was put through them before popping them up on the card. I also like to slightly bend the wings up to give them more of a 3-D look. Then I took a strip of Very Vanilla and stamped the greeting from Apothecary Art in Soft Suede. I flagged one end and tucked the other under the butterfly. Easy!!

Make sure to visit the Create with Connie and Mary website to find more inspiration and to link up your project. We always love to see what you come up with! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Romantic Thanks

Good morning, Friends! Another week seems to be flying by! Nothing too exciting going on around here. I got some new toys yesterday and I am looking forward to spending some time playing!

Today's card is one I did for a swap last month. I really liked the way this one turned out! The black really makes a 'pop'! I started with a card base of Naturals Ivory and then took another piece of Naturals Ivory and ran it through the Big Shot using the Frame Tulip embossing folder. I cut around this before adhering it to the front of my card. Then I cut a piece of Basic Black with the Labels framelits die and adhered this to the card. Before cutting another framelit, I stamped the piece of Naturals Ivory card stock with the Apothecary Art stamp by coloring just the frame of it with a Basic Black marker. This is popped up onto the black frame. Then I stamped the flowers from Bordering on Romance in black StazOn onto Naturals Ivory card stock. I colored them in with a blender pen and Pool Party, Pear Pizzazz, More Mustard and So Saffron. I cut them out and added three brads before popping them up onto the card. Then I took a strip of Naturals Ivory card stock and stamped the greeting from Thank You Kindly. I flagged one end and tucked the other end behind the flowers. Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

FMS 24 and PPA 130

Good morning, Friends! We made it back safely yesterday afternoon. The roads were perfect and the day was most beautiful! Looks to be another beautiful day around here, too! Now it's back to reality. Laundry needs to be done. I need to go to the grocery store. Nick has practice. I need to spend some time in my craft room... You can see which one will take priority - lol!

Today's card was inspired by two challenges. Freshly Made had a sketch that was nice and clean and simple. The other challenge it the Pals Paper Arts color challenge. I thought that both challenges came together nicely on my card. And the Lean on Me stamp set is perfect for a clean and simple card! I started with a piece of Always Artichoke and added a piece of Lucky Limeade striped designer paper. On top of that I added a strip of Chocolate Chip card stock that was flagged on both ends. Then I popped this whole panel up onto a card base of Whisper White. I stamped the image from Lean on Me in black StazOn onto a piece of Whisper White. I colored in the image with a blender pen using Always Artichoke, Lucky Limeade and Chocolate Chip inks. I adhered this to a piece of Always Artichoke and then added two brads. This panel is popped up onto the card. Done! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

LIM Week 56

Good Monday morning, Friends! Well, we will be on our way home this morning. What a most wonderful weekend it was! We will have the car loaded up with new purchases (mostly Becky's - lol!). I am anxious to start some new wool appliqué projects soon, too!

Today's card was inspired by a challenge at Less is More. The challenge was to use up scraps to make a card (by the way, this was last week's challenge). The only thing that was not a scrap was the card base of Very Vanilla. So on top of my card base I attached three strips of designer paper from the Everyday Enchantment pack. These are varied in length and width and then flagged on the end. I just put adhesive in the middle of each strip and then sort of curved the ends off the card. Then I took a scrap of Very Vanilla and stamped the 'Hello' from Elementary Elegance in Soft Suede. I rounded one corner of this strip and popped it up onto the card. Then I took a scrap of Peach Parfait and ran it through the Big Shot with the Beautiful Wings embosslit. I added a mini brad before adhering it to the Very Vanilla strip. And there you have it! A super simple card using scraps! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

SSSC 153 and LNS 162

Good morning everyone! I hope you are having a fantastic weekend! I can't believe how fast it has gone for us! Becky and I have been having a blast visiting with our friend Sherry! Yesterday was a FULL day of shopping at various wool and quilt stores and stamp stores! I think I controlled myself pretty well. But it was sure fun to see Becky go nuts!! And we even got Sherry excited about wool, too! So she has several projects to start and even inquired about classes at the local stores! Go Sherry! We even picked a project that we are going to work on together. Guess that means I will have to visit more often!

Today's card was inspired from a sketch by Karen Giron. I also combined it with the challenge at LNS which is to go green. And I did use the green on this one! My card base is Lucky Limeade. Then I adhered a piece of Lucky Limeade designer paper to a piece of Basic Black. Then I took a piece of Basic Black and ran it through the Big Shot using the Houndstooth embossing folder and adhered it to the designer paper. I took some strips of Basic Black and ran them through the Big Shot with the Tasteful Trim die and adhered them to the panel. Then I added two black brads and adhered the whole panel to the card base. My focal point is a 2 1/2" punched circle of Lucky Limeade that has the splatter stamped from Extreme Elements in Lucky Limeade. I also stamped the car from Need for Speed in black StazOn and then stamped the car again on a scrap of Lucky Limeade in black StazOn. I used my Lucky Limeade marker to highlight some of the lines on the car and then popped it up on the circle. I stamped the greeting from Teeny Tiny Wishes in black StazOn and then popped the circle onto the card. Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Card Recipe: Stamps- Extreme Elements, Teeny Tiny Wishes, Need for Speed; Paper- Lucky Limeade, Basic Black, In Color designer paper pack; Ink- Lucky Limeade, black StazOn; Accessories- Houndstooth embossing folder, Tasteful Trim die, 2 1/2" circle punch, black brads, dimensionals

Good morning from Ault! My friend and I are visiting a very good stamping/crafting friend who lives in Ault. Did you know that it means "A Unique Little Town"? Cute, huh! We got here yesterday early evening and had a fantastic dinner! Then we did some wool appliqué the rest of the evening! Today we are going to have a wonderful breakfast and then we are going on a field trip to various stamping and quilting stores. Fun, fun fun!!!

Today's card was inspired by Mary Jo's Lunchtime Sketch Challenge. I really liked the sketch and had fun with this card. I tried some different colors, too. My card base is Riding Hood Red with a piece of Basic Gray that was run through the Big Shot with the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder. Then I stamped the greeting from Friendly Phrases in Basic Gray onto Whisper White and added two silver brads. This was adhered to the card and then a piece of Twitterpated designer paper. Then I stamped the flower from Mixed Bunch in Riding Hood Red onto Whisper White and punched it out with the Blossom punch. I also used the Blossom punch to punch out a flower from Riding Hood Red card stock and then from Pear Pizzazz card stock. The two Riding Hood Red flowers are adhered together. I cut two petals from the Pear Pizzazz flower and used them as leaves and adhered them behind my flowers. This is popped up onto the card. Then I took a Basic Gray button and tied a bow with the white baker's twine. I glue dotted this to the middle of the flower. And there you have it! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Good morning everyone! Thank goodness it's Friday! Are you ready for a great weekend? I am going to be visiting my friend Sherry this weekend! I know we are going to have a great time! Well, I hope you are ready for a great sketch from the Sketch Frenzy Friday team! This week's sketch was provided by Patrice Herrera. Take a look at this cute sketch!

A lot of different elements that took me a while to figure out what I might do. But then an idea came to me and here is the result!

I have seen quite a few projects that have these cute banners on them made from designer paper. So I went with that! I used the Everyday Enchantment designer paper to make my banners and attached them to linen thread and then to the card base of Very Vanilla. I ran a piece of Calypso Coral through the Big Shot with the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder and attached that to the card. Then I stamped the greeting from Outlined Occasions onto Very Vanilla in Soft Suede. I colored in the images with Pool Party, Calypso Coral and Poppy Parade markers. This is popped up onto the card. I cut two stars using the Stars #2 die and Pool Party card stock. I put a silver brad through the smaller one and both are popped up onto the card. Super simple!

Click 'here' to see what Jennifer did with this sketch. Then continue through the tour to see what the other designers came up with using this sketch. I hope you find time to play along with us this week! Be sure to upload your creation to the Sketch Frenzy Friday blog so that we can all take a look! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!
