The Stamp Review Crew: Mosaic Madness

Hello everyone! And welcome to another Stamp Review Crew blog hop! It's been quite a while since I have participated in one of these! This time around we are featuring the stamp set Mosaic Madness. You may have arrived from Shana's inspiring blog. However you got here you can take the entire tour by clicking the "next" button below to be taken to the next blog! By doing so you will make a full circle and will get to see everyone's wonderful creations using this set!

The goal of The Stamp Review Crew is to use sets that may otherwise get neglected with all the hype of the new products from mini catalogs that are being released. And I have to say that I really like that! I got this set and loved on it for a while and now it tends to get shoved to the back of the shelf in search of newer products. Pool Mosaic Madness - lol! So it was fun to pull it out and think of what I could do...

I decided to go a little glitzy! This is a very easy card with lots of gold details! I hope you are inspired! Here are the details:

  • Card base is Very Vanilla
  • Adhere a piece of Very Vanilla to a piece of gold foil paper
  • Adhere a piece of striped gold foil vellum to the panel and then adhere this to the to the card base with dimensionals
  • Punch a strip of gold foil paper with the scallop edge border punch then adhere to card
  • Stamp the two mosaic images from Mosaic Madness using gold Encore ink onto a piece of Very Vanilla and emboss with gold emboss powder
  • Stamp the sentiment from Petite Pairs onto the panel using Tuxedo Black Momento ink
  • Adhere panel to a piece of Basic Black card stock and then adhere to card with dimensionals
  • Thread some gold baker's twine through a gold basic metal button and tie a bow then adhere to card
Time to send you on to see what Mike Funke has created for you! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

CCMC Preview Week Day 2: Hello Fall

Good morning, Friends! I hope your week is off to a fabulous start! It's my husband's birthday today! Yesterday our good friend Becky made a fabulous dinner of chicken and noodles and then an awesome dessert of homemade chocolate cake (Pat's favorite) and graham cracker ice cream! YUM!!! I am still so full from all that wonderful food! Tonight we will eat out somewhere of Pat's choosing. The weather is feeling fall-ish. But it is supposed to warm up later this week. I'm loving the cloudy rainy weather as we just don't get it that often around here.

Today's card was a copy of a card from the Stampin' Success magazine. I did change the card base color but that is all. Such a pretty and very simple card!

  • Card base is Sahara Sand
  • Stamp the background image from For All Things in Sahara Sand onto the card base
  • Stamp the leafy stem image onto the background image using Blackberry Bliss ink
  • Add two strips of the Color Me Autumn washi tape
  • Ink up just the 'hello' on the greeting stamp and stamp that onto the card base using Crushed Curry ink
  • Stamp the splotches from Gorgeous Grunge onto the card base using Sahara Sand
  • Thread a piece of linen thread through a gold basic metal button and tie a bow then adhere to card

CCMC Preview Week: For All Things

Good morning, Friends! I hope you all had a great weekend! We did! But it sure did seem short. Now it's time to finish off this last week of August and head towards fall. I can't believe that we have been in school for almost a month already! Time is sure flying! Nick was supposed to have a soccer game in Glenwood Springs on Saturday. The team met at the high school and drove up. Pat and I (and many other parents I'm sure) drove up later. As we were about 1/2 hour away, Nick calls and says that it had been cancelled. Ugh! It had been raining pretty hard so I guess I'm not too surprised. So we turned around and headed home. The day was nice and cool and rainy and I got a TON of stamping done! Still have lots more to do but I feel like I'm a little more caught up!

Today's card uses some new product from the upcoming Holiday mini. It's Preview Week at Create with Connie and Mary! We are getting ready to launch the Holiday Cards "Create"tions 2014!! CCMC 317

Good morning everyone! It's time for another challenge from the Create with Connie and Mary team! This week we have a super fun sketch to work with!

I have to admit that all those different strips kind of threw me off. I knew washi tape would be great and even strips of dsp but could I make it look good? So I went with a stamp...

I love the Dotty Angles stamps! I had used the dots but not the angles and I thought this would work! I paired it with another great stamp set, Pictogram Punches and I really like how this turned out!

  • Card base is Bermuda Bay
  • Stamp the angles image from Dotty Angles onto the card base using Bermuda Bay ink
  • Use the circle framelits to cut a circle from Whisper White and stamp the vase and stems image from Pictogram Punches onto the circle using Mossy Meadow ink
  • Stamp the vase and stems image again onto a piece of Whisper White using Calypso Coral ink and cut out just the vase then adhere the vase to the circle over the Mossy Meadow one
  • Adhere the stamped circle to a starburst cut from Calypso Coral using the Starburst framelits and then adhere to card with dimensionals
  • Stamp the greeting from Teeny Tiny Wishes onto a strip of Whisper White using Bermuda Bay ink and flag both ends then adhere to card
  • Punch three flowers from Daffodil Delight using the itty bitty accents punch pack and adhere to card
  • Add three Bermuda Bay candy dots to the flower centers
Stop by the Create with Connie and Mary site to see all the wonderful creations! So many great ideas! I look forward to seeing yours!!

Before I sign off I want to tell you about the Create with Connie and Mary Card "Create"tions coming soon! I'm so excited to be sharing some great cards for the upcoming seasons! Visit the Create with Connie and Mary site to get full details!

Control Freaks Blog Tour: Simple and Elegant

Hello everyone! Welcome to the Control Freaks blog tour! I am stop #5 after Heidi Boos! If you are out of order then don't worry as you will make a complete circle and be able to visit everyone's blog by clicking the "next" button at the bottom! Please note: if you are visiting before the 20th, all the blogs may not be working. To take the tour with no glitches, be sure to come back on the 20th!

I haven't participated in one of these in a long time! I was so glad to get back into it!! This month's theme was simple and elegant. I can do simple easy enough but I sure did get hung up on the elegant part. And after making my cards, I kept second guessing myself. But time was running out and this is what made the cut!

First up is a very simple card! In fact I used the sketch at CAS(E) This Sketch! The colors came from the My Create Ink - SU Color Lab. I knew I wanted to use Crushed Curry and Pear Pizzazz. I just didn't know what other colors would go with those. So I plugged those two colors in and a whole array of beautiful combinations came up! This set is one of my favorites!

  • Card base is Whisper White
  • Stamp the images from Kinda Eclectic onto the card base using Crushed Curry, Pear Pizzazz, Baked Brown Sugar (stamped off once) and Night of Navy inks
  • Stamp the butterfly images onto Rich Razzleberry using Rich Razzleberry ink and punch out using the Elegant Butterfly and Bitty Butterfly punches
  • Adhere butterflies to card
  • Punch a butterfly from vellum card stock using the Bitty Butterfly punch and adhere to bigger butterfly
  • Adhere pearls to butterflies
Pretty simple and very mailable!

For my second card I tried to go more elegant. I think it still fits into the simple category, too. And what could be more elegant than gold! I haven't used this washi tape in quite some time so it was fun to get it out again!

  • Card base is Very Vanilla
  • Stamp the flower image from Choose Happiness onto the card base with gold Encore ink
  • Cover a piece of Very Vanilla card stock with the Watercolor Wonder washi tape and adhere to card with dimensionals
  • Stamp the greeting onto a strip of Very Vanilla using Rich Razzleberry ink and flag the end
  • Adhere a strip of gold foil paper to the back and then adhere to card
  • Stamp the bird image onto a piece of Very Vanilla using Lost Lagoon ink and cut out then adhere to card with dimensionals
  • Punch a flower from Pink Pirouette card stock using the itty bitty accents punch pack and adhere to bird
  • Adhere gold sequins to card (one to flower center)
Thanks for stopping by! I hope you enjoyed my projects! Be sure to click the image below to get to your next stop on the blog tour! It's Melissa Davies! Enjoy!!

Blackberry Bird

Good morning everyone! I hope you are ready for another week! I think I could use another day of the weekend! Saturday was a long day of soccer games in the hot sun! Ugh! I got burned even though I used sunscreen and sat in the shade! How does that happen? Yesterday I got a lot of stamping done but still have quite a bit more to do so I will be working on that throughout the week after I get home from school. I do like my job but it sure gets in the way of the fun stuff - lol!

Today's card was one that I did a while ago. I wasn't sure how I felt about it. I tried the splattering thing and it just didn't do it the way I wanted.

  • Card base is Smoky Slate
  • On a piece of Smoky Slate stamp the sentiment from Choose Happiness using Smoky Slate and Blackberry Bliss markers to ink it with
  • Tie a piece of Blackberry Bliss stitched satin ribbon around the panel and adhere to card
  • Stamp the flower onto a piece of Naturals White using Hello Honey ink
  • Stamp the stem using Mossy Meadow ink and use a blender pen to pull color into the leaves
  • Adhere panel to a piece of Blackberry Bliss and then adhere to card with dimensionals
  • Stamp the bird image onto a piece of Naturals White using Blackberry Bliss ink and cut out then adhere to card with dimensionals
  • (Here's the step I would leave out next time) Use an aqua painter and Smoky Slate ink to splatter the card - maybe yours will look better than mine...
Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Choose Happiness Tag

Good morning everyone! Yea! It's the weekend! Nick has a day filled with soccer scrimmages so we will be out in the sun and heat all day. Oh joy... But it will be fun to watch the high school team! Wow! Can't believe that he is on the high school team! Their first game is next Saturday! I will be bringing my umbrella and sunscreen for sure today! And lots of water! I thought I would get a lot of stamping done today but it looks like I have a change in plans. We will see how I feel tonight. Probably exhausted... Maybe tomorrow? I have some new toys I really want to break in, too! Maybe that will motivate me!

Today's card was the last of the cards for stamp club this month. I love this set!

  • Card base is Sahara Sand
  • Stamp the flower image from Choose Happiness onto the card base with Sahara Sand ink
  • Make a tag from Moonlight designer paper and flag the bottom
  • Thread a piece of Lost Lagoon stitched satin ribbon through the hole at the top and tie a piece of silver baker's twine around the ribbon
  • Adhere tag to card
  • Stamp the sentiment onto a piece of Whisper White using Tuxedo Black Momento ink and cut out using the Apothecary Accents framelits
  • Flag the ends of a strip of Calypso Coral card stock and adhere to the back of the sentiment then adhere to tag with dimensionals
  • Stamp the woodgrain banner image onto a piece of Hello Honey using Hello Honey and cut out (you can cut out using the banners framelits but I cut this one out by hand)
  • Adhere banner to tag and tuck under Calypso Coral strip
  • Stamp the bird image onto Whisper White using Lost Lagoon ink and cut out then adhere to card with dimensionals
Lots of pieces to this one but it was fun!! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

I need to get a birthday present finished and ready to go for tomorrow and I need to get a lot of stamping done! But it seems like I have just been so tired! It won't be long now and my days will be packed! But I am really loving the job!

Today's card was another that I did with my stamp club on Monday. Super easy!

Birthday By The Tide

Good morning, Friends! I hope your week got off to a great start! My schedule is getting filled at school so that makes me feel a little more useful and helps to pass the time more quickly. Nick has started high school soccer tryouts and that is exciting, too! My husband came home sick yesterday. Yuck!! I am really hoping it was something he ate that Nick and I didn't. He did go back to work today and by last night, he looked so much better! And so far, Nick and I are fine.

I had stamp club last night with a great group of ladies! Always love my stamp club time! Lots of laughs and great ideas shared! This is one of the cards that we did last night. It's always nice to have a stash of masculine cards.

  • Card base is Crumb Cake
  • Stamp the greeting from Something to Say onto a piece of Island Indigo card stock using Tuxedo Black Momento ink then adhere to card base
  • Stamp the coral image from By the Tide onto a piece of Crumb Cake using Crumb Cake ink then adhere to a piece of Basic Black

  • Wrap some linen thread around a few times and adhere to card with a glue dot
  • Stamp the fish image onto a piece of Whisper White using Island Indigo ink and cut out then adhere to card with dimensionals

FTL 302

Good morning, Friends! Well this week was quite an adjustment for me! I am still trying to figure out when I will have the energy and time to stamp a few cards. I ended up only doing one card between Wednesday and today. I have just been too tired by the time I get home and have to make dinner. So I am looking at the weekend as a possible answer. I got some new goodies and am looking forward to playing with them!! Nick's Back-to-School night was last night and it was great to meet all his teachers! I really like them and think that if Nick will put out his best effort, he will do very well!! So excited about that! I get to meet with some first grade teachers about getting started with some kiddos! I'm excited to get started!!

Today's card was inspired by the sketch at Clean&Simple. I really needed a simple card and this works!!

  • Card base is Pistachio Pudding
  • Use the scallop edge border punch to punch the side of a piece of All Abloom designer paper then adhere to a piece of Pistachio Pudding

  • Use the Apothecary Accents framelits to cut out the greeting and adhere to card with dimensionals
  • Punch a flower from Strawberry Slush using the itty bitty accents punch pack and adhere to card
  • Adhere a rhinestone to flower center
