SFF 093011

Good morning, Friends! Thank goodness it's Friday!! I can't believe that it is the last day of the month! Where did it go? We are headed out of town for a soccer tournament in Vail. I am looking forward to it! The fall colors should be gorgeous! I better remember to bring my camera! So it is time for another super fun challenge from the team at Sketch Frenzy Friday! This week's sketch is brought to us by Patrice Herrera. Take a look!

I told you it was super fun! Here is what I came up with:

I got my color scheme from the Color Coach. I really like these colors together and I wanted to use the hot air balloon set - too fun! I started with a card base of textured Not Quite Navy. The I added layers of Poppy Parade and a piece of Sahara Sand designer paper along with two strips of Poppy Parade. Then I made my tag of Not Quite Navy with a layer of Sahara Sand that was run through the Big Shot with the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder and sponged on the edges. I punched a hole and threaded a piece of Poppy Parade poly twill ribbon through and tied it off with some linen thread. The tag is popped up onto the card. I stamped the greeting from the Up, Up & Away set in Not Quite Navy onto Whisper White card stock and punched it out with the 1 3/8" circle punch. This is popped up onto the tag. Then I stamped the balloon basket in Sahara Sand, The balloon in Not Quite Navy and the strip of flags in Poppy Parade onto Whisper White and then cut them out. The pieces were put together with glue dots and then popped up onto the tag. And there you have it!!

So now it's time for you to go and see what Jennifer has done with this fabulous sketch! Click 'here' to go and see her creation. Keep going through the tour to see what the rest of the fabulous design team has created. Then be sure to create your own project and upload it to the Sketch Frenzy Friday blog so that we can all take a look! I just love to see how you all interpret our sketches! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

CCMC 169

Good morning everyone! It's time for another super wonderful and fun challenge at Create with Connie and Mary! This week's challenge is a color challenge. Take a look at these fantastic colors!
Aren't they awesome? The challenge colors are Pool Party, Sahara Sand, and Basic Black. I always love to pair colors with black. It just makes everything pop! So I found a layout in a magazine that I recently purchased and came up with this:

Can I say that I just love the way this turned out? Everything really fell into place! And it is a very easy layout! My card base is a 6 x 6 piece of textured Sahara Sand card stock that is folded in half to make a 3 x 6 card. Then I cut another smaller piece of Sahara Sand and layered a piece of Sahara Sand polka dot designer paper onto it. Then I tied the Pool Party ruffled ribbon around it before adhering it to the card. I used the small butterfly from the Flight of the Butterfly stamp set and stamped it in Pool Party onto Very Vanilla card stock (three times) and cut them out. Each butterfly got a mini brad. The butterflies are glue-dotted to 1" Sahara Sand squares which are glued to Basic Black card stock that is punched with the postage stamp punch. Then the squares are popped up over the ribbon. The last thing I did was to stamp the greeting at the bottom (also from the same set) in Basic Black. And there you have it!

I hope that you all will go on over to the Create with Connie and Mary website and see all the other wonderful creations that they have there using these colors. Then make your own creation and upload it to their site so that we might all look too! I can't wait to see what you do with these colors! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Easy Layout

Good morning, Friends! It's Monday again! And the last week of September! Where did this month go? We made it back from Denver late yesterday afternoon. It was nice to have a few hours at home before having to go to bed. That was our last trip to Denver for this season! Next weekend we have a tournament in Vail (a little closer). But the colors of the trees are SO beautiful! I wished I had brought my camera for some pictures. Hopefully they will be as brilliant next weekend, too! So the boys lost their game on Sunday. It was a tough game. They did play hard and fought to the end.

Today's card was inspired by a layout from a recent magazine that I purchased. I love this layout! SO easy!! And it works so well for these stamps! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Tri Panel Friend

Good Sunday morning, Friends! We are still in Denver as the boys have another soccer game today. They did win their game yesterday so that was very exciting! After the game, Nick spent the afternoon with a friend and Pat and I got to go have a nice lunch and do a little shopping! We don't get to hang out just the two of us very often so that was really nice! We will be making our way home after the game today. Should be a really nice drive back!

Today's card was inspired by a layout in the magazine that I purchased recently. I really do like the way this one turned out! And it is super simple!! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Trendy Fall Trees

Good morning, Friends! We made it to Denver yesterday! The drive over here was amazing! The trees are really changing and the colors are so beautiful! Nick has a soccer game this morning and then we will drive to another part of Denver, to a different hotel for the game tomorrow. Then it's back home! I sure hope the boys play well!

I bought a new stamping magazine the other day and it is filled with sketches and samples. I love it! This card came about from one of those sketches. I haven't used this set in quite some time so I thought I would pull it out for this. And, I think it is perfect because this weekend is Color Weekend! It truly is a simple card! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

SFF 092311

Good Friday morning everyone! I am so happy that it is finally Friday!! My son thought it was a fast week and I am thankful for that. But for me, it was a long one! And today we will be heading out of town for two soccer games. It will be nice to get away! The Sketch Frenzy Friday team has another great sketch challenge! This week's sketch is brought to us by Maria Vanderform. Take a look!

Isn't it great?!! Here is what I created with it:

I knew I wanted to go in a Halloween direction. I love Halloween! I don't do anything special for it but it is so fun to see the kids get so excited about dressing up and getting candy! I often wonder how long Nick will continue to get excited about dressing up and going out trick-or-treating. Anyway, I started with a Pumpkin Pie card base. I cut a piece of Basic Black and a piece of Lucky Limeade designer paper and glued them together. Then I wrapped a piece of Basic Black striped grosgrain around that before adhering it to the card. then I took a piece of Basic Black taffeta ribbon and tied it around the striped ribbon leaving the tails exposed. For the focal point I stamped the girl from the Greeting Card Kids set in black StazOn on a piece of Confetti Cream card stock that was punched with the 2 1/2" circle punch. Then I watercolored her with coordinating colors and my aqua painter. The circle is popped up over the ribbon. Then I stamped the greeting from Teeny Tiny Wishes in Basic Black and added three rhinestones.

I do hope that you will find some time to play along with us! We always love to see what you come up with! But before you get to creating, be sure to click 'here' to see what Jennifer came up with. Be sure to click your way through the tour to get inspired. Don't forget to upload your creation to the Sketch Frenzy Friday blog. Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

CCMC 168

Good morning everyone! It's time for another great Thursday challenge from the team at Create with Connie and Mary! This week they are challenging us with a sketch! Check it out!

I love this sketch! In fact I had so many ideas going through my head that I had a hard time trying to decide what to do! But I did finally settled on this:

I had gotten this stocking punch quite some time ago but hadn't used it so I thought it was time to get it out and get creative! I started with a card base of textured Marina Mist and added strips of various widths and lengths from the Frostwood Lodge designer paper. The greeting from Four the Holidays is stamped toward the bottom in Marina Mist. Then I took a piece of Cherry Cobbler and ran it through the Big Shot with the ovals die and glued that to a piece of Whisper White. This is popped up on the card. The main part of the stocking is punched from Marina Mist and the pieces are punched from the Frostwood Lodge designer paper. I glued the pieces down onto the stocking. Then I took the mini jingle bells and threaded three of them onto a piece of white baker's twine and adhered them to the stocking. Aren't they cute!! I also added a little loop with the white baker's twine. I popped the stocking up on the oval and added two rhinestones to the bottom right hand corner. Pretty simple!

Be sure to check out the rest of the super talented design team and their projects and the Create with Connie and Mary site! Then create your own project using the sketch provided. We always love to see what you come up with! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Control Freak Blog Tour - Fall Into Step

Hello everyone! It's that time of the month when the Control Freaks create some super wonderful creations to inspire you all! This month the Freaks are focusing on Fall - Halloween/Thanksgiving. So you if you started at the beginning, you have arrived here from Robin Spinner's blog and I would be your last stop. But if you didn't that's o.k. because when you are finished here, you can click on the button at the bottom of this post to move through the tour. You won't be disappointed! So let's get started! (Please note that if you arrive here before the 20th, all the links might not be working. Be sure to come back on the 20th to see all the wonderful creations from the fabulous Freaks)

My first project is something that I have been wanting to do for a while. So I decided to take the plunge and try it out! Here is what came out!

I thought this would make a super nice centerpiece for a Thanksgiving table! Stampin' Up! has come out with an awesome new tool called Simply Scored. I used it to make these medallions (or flowers). I was going through my cupboards and found a few of these milk cans. I have had them for a very long time and decided it was time to use them for something! Here is a close-up of the front of the can:

I used bamboo sticks to adhere the flowers to. I also put some dried beans in the can to help hold the flowers in place. I used a ton of products from the Spice Cake Suite in the Holiday mini catalog. Here is a close-up of the flowers:
My centerpiece project took quite some time so I decided to make a really simple card. I used the Always Thankful set from the Holiday mini catalog.

So there you have it! I hope that you were inspired by what you saw here! Be sure to click on the link below to go to Barb Mulikin's blog if you haven't been there already. You won't want to miss what she has for you! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Products used: Stamps- Always Thankful; Paper- Soft Suede, More Mustard, Confetti Cream, Spice Cake designer paper; Ink- Soft Suede, More Mustard Pear Pizzazz; Accessories- Soft Suede wide grosgrain ribbon, Pear Pizzazz seam binding ribbon, Soft Suede taffeta ribbon, Spice Cake designer buttons, 2 3/8" scallop circle punch, linen thread, gold brads, scallop trim border punch, color spritzer, dimensionals

Poppy Parade Birthday

Good morning, Friends! Well, here we are at the start of another week that will probably go just as fast as the one before it! I just can't believe how time flies! At least it will be a "normal" week for us. Nothing too exciting will be going on.

Today's card was inspired by several layouts, including one from the catalog. I just kind of combined different elements from each and put this together! It is pretty simple. Because the ribbon is so bulky, I had to use two dimensionals stacked on top of each other to pop up the circle.

Be sure to come back tomorrow for the Control Freaks blog tour! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Card Recipe: Stamps- Create a Cupcake; Paper- Poppy Parade, Early Espresso, Whisper White, Just Add Cake designer paper; Ink- Wild Wasabi, So Saffron, Early Espresso; Accessories- Poppy Parade poly twill ribbon, 2 1/2" circle punch, Perfect Pennants die, itty bitty shapes punch pack, basic rhinestones, dimensionals

Up, Up & Away Birthday

Good morning, Friends! I hope you are having an awesome weekend! Nick's soccer game didn't turn out like we would have wanted. The rain did stop and it turned out to be a really nice afternoon! But the team just didn't quite get the job done. They go their first loss and boy were they bummed. After the game we went to the rodeo with some friends and that was a nice way to take our minds off of it. But the rain came back! Thankfully, it was only for a short time and then it cleared up and was really nice! We hadn't been to a rodeo for a few years so that was really fun! I think we are going to go watch our local college men's team play a soccer game and then Nick has baseball practice. Should be fun!

Today's card started from a sketch and then quickly took another direction. I got this set last week and wanted to do something with it. I really like these hot air balloons and it is something different for me. I took my colors from the Domestic Goddess designer paper. It is a pretty simple card! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

LNS Challenge 138

Good morning, Friends! It was so wonderful to be able to sleep in this morning! And what a perfect day to do that! It is raining and gloomy outside. I think I need to go get a cup of coffee while I type this... Ahhh! That's better! Nick is supposed to have a soccer game later this afternoon so we will see if that is going to happen. This past Wednesday it rained during his practice. And the kids got soaked!! Nick got in the car and was so hyped up! He loves playing soccer in the rain!

So my card today is another very simple one. I am using the same set again! There are four stamps in this set and I should have used the image of the girl with the umbrella! It would have been perfectly suited for our day here! Oh well. I'm sure you will get to see her someday soon - lol! I actually got this card layout from the catalog (sorry, I can't remember what page). This card was also made for the challenge at LNS that was to use the new In Colors. Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!!

Card Recipe: Stamps- Lean on Me; Paper- Lucky Limeade, Island Indigo, Daffodil Delight, Confetti White, In Color designer paper stack; Ink- black StazOn, Lucky Limeade, Island Indigo, Daffodil Delight, Blush Blossom; Accessories- silver brads, dotted scallop ribbon punch, aqua painter, dimensionals

SFF 091611

Good Friday morning everyone!! It's a great day to do a challenge! Sketch Frenzy Friday has a super fun sketch challenge! This week's sketch is brought to us by Tammy Fite. Take a look:

So many wonderful possibilities for this one! But here is what I finally came up with:

I just had to use a new set of mine, Lean on Me. I love the sentiments in the set and I love the cute little kiddos! This set makes the easiest cards - ever! There isn't a whole lot of detailed coloring on these stamps. Love them!! And because the images are so simple, I decided to keep my card very simple as well. So I started with a card base of Confetti Cream and then cut another piece of Confetti Cream a little smaller and ran it through the Big Shot with the Stripes embossing folder. I glued this to the card base. For the focal point I stamped the image in black StazOn on a piece of Confetti Cream. I used Not Quite Navy, More Mustard, Crumb Cake, and a little Blush Blossom to water color the image with my aqua painter. Then I took a piece of Not Quite Navy card stock and cut an oval with the ovals die. The image piece is glued to the oval and then popped up on the card. Since I already had my sentiment stamped as part of the focal point, I used three gold brads to finish it off (these were actually put on the striped piece before it was glued down - can't have those brad "butts" poking out the back).

Now it is time for you to move along the tour to see what Jennifer has come up with this fabulous sketch! So click 'here' to move to her blog. Keep clicking through the tour to get inspired and then make your own project to upload to the Sketch Frenzy Friday site so that we can all see! I always love to see what you come up with! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

CCMC 167

Good morning everyone!! Once again, it's Thursday. Boy, does time fly by!! So it's time for another super fun challenge from the wonderful ladies at Create with Connie and Mary! This week they have a color challenge for us! Check out these awesome colors!
They reminded me of fall. And it definitely feels like fall around our area. The mornings and evenings have that "chill". I love it!! As we drive to Denver for soccer games, you can see some of the trees starting to change colors. In a few weeks it will be a glorious sight! So, I decided to take my card in a fall-like direction. Check it out!
I really love the way this turned out! I took a piece of Confetti White card stock and stamped lightly with Basic Grey ink the A to Z background stamp in the middle. Then I stamped one of the leaf images from Autumn Splendor lightly with Old Olive ink. To the top part of this panel I glued a piece of Basic Grey designer paper from the Neutrals paper stack and toward the bottom I glued a piece of Basic Grey textured card stock. The greeting from Teeny Tiny Wishes is stamped in Basic Grey in the lower left hand corner. Then I took a strip of Cajun Craze card stock, tore it and glued it behind this panel. This panel is popped up onto a card base of Basic Grey textured card stock. For my focal point, I took a scrap piece of Confetti White card stock and stamped the leaf image twice - once in Old Olive and once in Cajun Craze and cut them out. These are popped up. My finishing touch was to take a Basic Grey button from the Neutrals buttons, thread some linen thread through the holes and tie a bow. It was adhered with glue dots right over the stems. These colors have a real elegant feel. I got my card layout from the Clean & Simple blog.

Be sure to check out the rest of the design team submissions for this week's challenge. You can find them all at the Create with Connie and Mary website. I do hope that you will be able to play along with us this week! I always love to see what you come up with! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Simply Lean on Me

Good morning, Friends! This week seems to be flying by like all the rest! As the week goes on, it gets harder for me to wake up so early! So you can imagine how hard it is for Nick to get up! So why won't he go to bed earlier?

I got an order yesterday that had some new stamps for me to play with. I just had to get this set, Lean on Me. Just a simple set with really sweet sayings and the cutest kiddos!! Love them! They are so easy to watercolor! So I pulled that one out and made a very quick and simple card for today. I am going to visit a friend today so I think I will be giving it to her. Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Card Recipe: Stamps- Lean on Me; Paper- Confetti White, Chocolate Chip; Ink- black StazOn, Pool Party, So Saffron, Not Quite Navy, Chocolate Chip, Wild Wasabi; Accessories- Chocolate Chip scallop polka dot ribbon, metallic brads, 2 1/2" circle punch, aqua painter, dimensionals

Candy Wrapper Frankie

Good morning, Friends! What a busy day it was for me yesterday! I still have a few things to do today but I do hope I can find some time to do some stamping. I do have a lot to do there as well!

Today's project is one that I did for the shoebox club that I am a part of. Isn't he the cutest?! I just love little Frankie!! I saw this idea from Kirsten Brown. Be sure to check out her blog as she has a LOT more of these little cuties! What a fun idea to pass out to all the trick-or-treaters in the neighborhood! Too bad we live out in a rural area where no one comes by. Hmmm... I may have to hang out at a friends for Halloween! Lol!!! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Krafty Friend

Good morning, Friends! I hope you all had a super weekend! We were in Golden on Saturday for a soccer game that the boys won! They do remain undefeated! Yes, this is only their third regular season game, but counting the pre-season tournament games, they haven't lost! And I think that is pretty impressive! What I was so excited about is that in the final seconds of Saturday's game, the other team shot a goal which would have tied the game but Nick saved it!! And that secured the win for our team!

Today's card is one that was inspired by my friend, Molly. She is in shoebox with me and she made a card that had a really cool layout. I tried my best to recreate it with my own products. My color scheme comes from the Spice Cake suite. I did use the stamp-a-ma-jig to help me line up the two-step stamps. Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Card Recipe: Stamps- Simply Soft, A to Z, Friendly Phrases; Paper- Soft Suede, Pear Pizzazz, Crumb Cake; Ink- Soft Suede, Crumb Cake, Pool Party; Accessories- Pool Party ruffled ribbon, oval punch, scallop oval punch, Houndstooth embossing folder, corner rounder, aqua painter, sponge, dimensionals

Remembering 9/11

Good Sunday morning, Friends! Today is a day to remember. I chose to make a card for all those brave men and women who have fought for our freedoms and those who still are. My thoughts and prayers also go out to those who were directly affected by the horrific attack ten years ago. I will never forget that day!

SFF 090911

Good morning everyone! It's finally Friday and time for another great sketch challenge from Sketch Frenzy Friday! This week's sketch comes from Kim Innis. Check it out!
And here is what I came up with:

I am beginning to think that I use this cupcake set and punch every week! But it is so great!! The cupcake bottom, from Create a Cupcake, is stamped in Poppy Parade and the top in Peach Parfait. This is punched out with the cupcake builder punch and popped up onto a 1 3/4" Early Espresso circle. The other two circles are 2" and 2 1/2" and are cut from the Just Add Cake designer paper. But before I glued them down I cut a piece of Poppy Parade and a piece of Confetti white and tied a piece of Poppy Parade poly twill ribbon around it. Then I adhered the two bigger circles and popped up the smaller one. I stamped the greeting in the lower right hand corner in Early Espresso and popped the entire panel onto a Confetti White card base. My final touch was a flower punched using the itty bitty shapes punch pack in Baja Breeze and a rhinestone jewel.

A fantastic sketch! Click 'here' to see what Jennifer did with this sketch. Keep going through the tour to find inspiration. Then go and create your own project using this awesome sketch. Be sure to upload it to the Sketch Frenzy Friday blog so we can all see! I always look forward to seeing what you do with our sketches! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

CCMC 166 & Special Announcement!!

Good morning everyone!! I have so much to tell you today that I am going to just jump right in! First of all, it is Thursday, and that means a super fun challenge from the wonderful ladies at Create with Connie and Mary! This week we have a sketch challenge. Check it out!

And here is what I came up with:

This card serves two wonderful purposes. The first one is that it is my design team card for the Create with Connie and Mary challenge. So let me tell you about the card. I started with a piece of Confetti Cream card stock and stamped the image from Always grateful in black StazOn. Then I used More Mustard, River Rock, Soft Suede, and Pear Pizzazz inks and my aqua painter to watercolor it. The sentiment is stamped below in Soft Suede. This panel is adhered to a piece of Soft Suede. The next panel is a piece of River Rock that went through the Big Shot with the Houndstooth embossing folder and then got sponged. To the top portion I added a piece of Spice Cake designer paper and the bottom right hand corner got two brads. I used glue dots to adhere a piece of Soft Suede wide grosgrain ribbon on the back and then added a skinny strip of Soft Suede. This panel is popped up onto a Soft Suede card base and the stamped image panel is popped as well. And there you have it!

So the second purpose my card serves is also my wonderful announcement! Today is the day that I get to tell you all that Connie and Mary have asked me to be a guest designer for their Create Holiday 2011 Edition! Lil' ol' me is going to be a guest designer!!! I will be creating a special project using the Spice Cake designer paper and the Card Keeper. And it won't be for cards! But the only way to see my project will be to subscribe to their site (Create Holiday 2011 Edition). I will be featured during week 3 which will run October 2-8. Right now they are offering early bird pricing of $29.95! And believe me... You will NOT be disappointed! There will be so many wonderful ideas and just in time for the holidays!

So what are you waiting for? Go to the Create with Connie and Mary website to find more details about their upcoming Create Holiday 2011 Edition and meet the other fabulous designers. And be sure to sign up!! Oh!! And while you are there be sure to check out what the other designers did with this fantastic sketch! And then create your own project using the sketch provided. I can't wait to see what you come up with! And I hope to see you on the Holiday Edition side, too! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Today's card is one that I did for Karen Giron's sketch challenge. Cute sketch!! I am loving the results that you get from this Christmas Lodge stamp set! I have seen a few cards done this way where you use your white gel pen to color the snowy parts. Such a cool effect and I couldn't wait to try it for myself! Could be a contender for my Christmas cards this year!

Pink Doilies

Good morning, Friends! Well, here I am, up early to get Nick off to school. It sure would be nice if he would wake up to an alarm clock, get ready himself, and then wake me up when he was ready to go. Ha!! I do hope that someday he will learn to wake up to an alarm. That boy would sleep through a fire alarm! It's crazy! You can definitely tell fall is coming! The temperatures are slowly cooling down and I have noticed that the days are getting shorter. Usually the sun would be just coming up over the mountains but it is still pretty dark! Wow!

Today's card is one that I did over the long weekend. I really like this layout and you will probably get to see more of it. It is a pretty simple card! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Summer Spice

Good morning, Friends! The start of another week! I can't believe how fast these weeks seem to go by! I hope you all are enjoying your long weekend! I think we may try to catch a movie this afternoon. And then we will need to try and get Nick in the school mind-set. Ha!! It has been nice being able to sleep in and be lazy all weekend!

Today's card is one that I just put together in hopes of coming up with a swap card. I like the way it came out. I just didn't want to do it for a swap. So, back to the drawing board! I have a few other ideas. I combined the Summer Solstice set with the Spice Cake designer paper (hence the title). Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

TSSC 189

Good morning, Friends! What a great weekend, so far! We went to a wedding yesterday evening and it was just beautiful! The weather was perfect! The setting was perfect! And the food was awesome!! Not to mention the bride and groom were so cute!!! I am so happy for Jeff and Sara! There is definitely a hint of fall in the air. It is much cooler in the mornings and evenings. The weather man even talked about snow in the mountains!

Today's card was inspired by Mary Jo's sketch challenge. Another great sketch! I was stumped with colors for this one. I found some different colors in a recent Stampin' Success magazine and thought they were pretty together. They had used Calypso Coral, Poppy Parade, Peach Parfait, Crumb Cake and Very Vanilla. So I thought I would give that a try. I do like the way it all turned out. The butterfly is stamped in Poppy Parade on Very Vanilla card stock and then colored with Calypso Coral. The scallop circle was die cut from the Perfect Pennants die in Crumb Cake and then stamped in Crumb Cake using the Fine Flourish stamp and then sponged. And can you see the Peach Parfait flower? It has a mini brad in it! Love those!! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Card Recipe: Stamps- Summer Solstice; Paper- Crumb Cake, Poppy Parade, Peach Parfait, Very Vanilla, In Color designer paper stack; Ink- Poppy Parade, Calypso Coral, Crumb Cake; Accessories- Perfect Pennants die, itty bitty shapes punch pack; mini brad, sponge, dimensionals

Autumn Days Panels

Good morning everyone! I hope your weekend is getting off to a great start! Mine is as I slept in late this morning!! Must have been more tired than I thought. Seems like Nick is feeling better this morning. And I am glad for that! Still is coughing but at least he is not sneezing.

Today's card was inspired by one that I did in card class last month. Of course, I did change it up. It really is pretty easy! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

TGIF everyone!! Are you ready for a great weekend? Well, I hope that you are ready for another great sketch challenge from the Sketch Frenzy Friday team! This week's sketch was made by Jennifer Weide. Take a look:

So many possibilities! I love clean and simple sketches! The sky's the limit on this one! Here is what I finally came up with:

I thought that this sketch would be a great opportunity to showcase some of our fantastic designer paper. For this card I cut a piece of designer paper from the Pocketful of Posies pack and mounted it onto a piece of Soft Suede and then wrapped a piece of Pear Pizzazz seam binding ribbon around it and popped it up onto a card base of Pear Pizzazz. Then I stamped the greeting from the Friendly Phrases set in Soft Suede on Whisper White and punched it out with the oval punch and layered it onto a piece of Pear Pizzazz that was punched with the scallop oval punch. This is popped up on a piece of Soft Suede that was punched with the decorative label punch and then popped up onto the card. The last thing I did was to punch a piece of Rich Razzleberry with the itty bitty shapes punch pack and add a basic rhinestone. A really easy card!!

O.k. Now I want to send you on to Jennifer's blog. Click 'here' to see what she has come up with! Continue through the tour to get inspired and then create your own project. Be sure to upload it to the Sketch Frenzy Friday blog so we can all see! I get so many ideas from you all! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

CCMC 165

Good morning everyone! Take a look at this fantastic color challenge from the team at Create with Connie and Mary! Take a look at these fun bright colors!

The challenge colors are Rich Razzleberry, Pumpkin Pie, and Lucky Limeade. Lots of fun things to do with these colors but I decided to go in the Halloween direction. Take a look:

Fun card, eh?! I love this Wicked Cool set! And it is time to get it out again as Halloween is starting to show up in the stores! I used an older sketch from The Paper Players to help get me started. I started with a card base of Rich Razzleberry and then glued a piece of Lucky Limeade designer paper to it. A strip of Rich Razzleberry is peeking out from behind the main focal panel. The main focal panel is a piece of Whisper White that has three Pumpkin Pie pieces that were cut into tags. I punched holes at the top and added some Basic Black narrow taffeta ribbon. Then I punched three Basic Black circles with the 1 3/8" circle punch and glued them to the tags. I stamped the witch's hat three times on scrap Whisper White in Rich Razzleberry, cut them out and popped them up on the circles. I stamped 'spooky' in Rich Razzleberry in the lower right hand corner and the whole panel is popped up on the card. The last thing I did was to punch a little flower using the itty bitty shapes punch pack and Lucky Limeade designer paper. These are attached to the hats and a rhinestone finishes it all off!

Be sure to visit the Create with Connie and Mary website to see what the other designers have done with the great colors! Then be sure to create your own project using these colors and upload it to their site so we can all see! I always look forward to seeing your wonderful creations!

The site is going live and you can meet the senior designers. Also, Connie and Mary are offering early bird pricing! So head on over to their site and read more about it!
