It's time for another great challenge from the Sketch Frenzy Friday team! This week's sketch was created by Patrice Herrera. Take a look!

Looks like a photo frame, huh? Well, I didn't have a photo to use like that but that would be so cool, wouldn't it? So I went in a slightly different direction and here's what I did.

I still used the frame idea, just not with a photo. I used the Designer Frames TEF to emboss a piece of Whisper White and cut around the frame. Then I stamped the leaf image from Summer Silhouettes in the new Pistachio Pudding color. This is adhered to the inside of the frame. I pierced a bit on a piece of Whisper White before popping the frame up onto the card. I was trying to get the flourish part of the sketch. Then I stamped the greeting from Sweet Essentials with the new Crisp Cantaloupe. On another piece of Whisper White I stamped the flower image with Crisp Cantaloupe and the flower center with Calypso Coral. I cut this out and popped it up onto the card. I added a rhinestone to the flower center.

You can see all the other designer's work at the Sketch Frenzy Friday blog. I hope that you will be able to play along with us this week! We sure do love seeing all the wonderful ideas that you all come up with! Thanks for stoppin by and have a super day!

Good morning, Friends! I have been a little scarce lately. My son is out of school for the summer and now my parents are visiting for a while. So I did some stamping to get caught up on my design team assignments and that's really about it! I will be back in the swing of things, soon, so just hang in there with me! I appreciate all of you! Today is the Create with Connie and Mary Thursday challenge and this week it's all about color! Take a look at these beautiful colors!

Island Indigo, Pool Party and So Saffron! I used the sketch from My Favorite Things to get me going on this and here is what I came up with!

A very simple sketch! I embossed a piece of Pool Party using the Moder Mosaic TEF (textured embossing folder) and adhered it to a piece of Island Indigo. This is then popped up onto a card base of So Saffron. Then I stamped the greeting from Bring on the Cake in Island Indigo onto a strip of Whisper White and flagged one end. This adhered to popped up panel. On Whisper White I stamped the image from Mosaic Madness in Island Indigo and cut it out. I adhered it to a piece of Island Indigo that was punched with the mosaic punch and then popped it up onto the card. I stamped the smaller image in So Saffron onto Whisper White and cut it out. This is popped up onto the first image and a pearl is added.

Be sure to visit the Create with Connie and Mary website for more wonderful inspiration from the rest of the design team! I hope I will see your creation uploaded there this week! I just love to see what you all come up with and I do get inspired by your creations! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Good Friday morning, Friends! I am excited to bring you this week's challenge from the Sketch Frenzy Friday team! This week's sketch was created by Tammy Fite. Take a look!

Such a fun, simple sketch! I had fun working on this one! Take a look at my creation!

Have I told you how much I LOVE the new Epic Day designer paper? I adhered a piece of this designer paper to a card base of Calypso Coral Then I stamped the chevron oval image from Oh, Hello in Daffodil Delight onto Very Vanilla and punched a circle from it using the 1 3/4" circle punch. This is adhered to a scallop circle that was punched from Gumball Green. I used the Essentials paper piercing pack to pierce around the punched circle. The scallop circle is popped up onto the card. I stamped the flower image onto Very Vanilla using the Calypso Coral and Gumball Green markers and then cut them out. These are popped up onto the circle. The sentiment is stamped in Basic Grey onto a strip of Very Vanilla and flagged on one end. This is adhered to the circle and a Neutrals button with some linen thread tied in it.

Be sure to visit the Sketch Frenzy Friday blog to see the other designers' creations! I hope you will be able to play along with us this week! I can't wait to see your creations! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Good morning, Friends! We are doing the happy dance around here as school is out for summer! Woohoo! I am also excited to bring you the newest Thursday challenge from the team at Create with Connie and Mary. This week we have a super great sketch challenge!

I LOVE this sketch! So many wonderful possibilities! You can keep it simple or dress it up. Of course I chose to keep it simple! Here's what I came up with.

I figure that men don't like a card that's too dressed up anyway. So this was perfect. I cut a piece of Epic Day designer paper and flagged the bottom. This is adhered to a piece of Basic Grey that was flagged at the bottom, too. Then I wrapped some linen thread around this three times and tied a knot. Then I popped up the panel onto a card base of Gumball Green. I stamped the fish image from By the tide in Basic Grey and sponged some Pool Party and Daffodil Delight onto it. I cut it out and popped it up onto the panel. I stamped the greeting from Teeny Tiny Wishes in Basic Grey onto a strip of Very Vanilla and slashed the ends. This is adhered to the panel. Super super simple! I love it!!

The Create with Connie and Mary website has more inspiration! Be sure to visit and see how the designers interpreted the sketch. I do hope you will find time this week to play along! We are always inspired by what you create! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

CAS(E) This Sketch 28

Good morning everyone! Another Monday already? What a nice weekend we had! The boys ended their soccer tournament and season on a high note by winning their last game! And even though the tournament didn't go the way we would have liked, they beat the team that ended up winning the tournament! If our boys can get consistent in their playing, there won't be anyone stopping them!! But they will have to figure that out. And as a parent, that part gets really frustrating! I guess I will just have to be patient! Nick had a GREAT game! He played goalie and saved some really tough shots! It always makes me nervous but I do love it when he gets to make amazing saves! So only a few more days of school! Looking forward to some summer fun!

Today's card was inspired by the sketch at CAS(E) This Sketch! I used the Hello, Hello single stamp to create this card. I used Old Olive and Melon Mambo markers to color the vine and flower part of the stamp and then stamped it onto a piece of Whisper White. Then on another piece of Whisper White I stamped it again using Pacific Point. I cut out just the words on this one and popped them up onto the first stamped panel. This panel is then popped up onto a card base of Whisper White. I added rhinestones to each flower. Simple card but it's not so simple to cut out the words - lol! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Freshly Made 86

Good morning, Friends! I hope your weekend is going well! The soccer tournament is not going the way we would have liked (or thought it would) but that is sports for ya. The boys have one more game today and then we will come home and try to forget all about it - lol! Yesterday the games were delayed due to lightning in the area. So that made things very interesting! And now the weather has turned pretty cool. Forecast shows more thunderstorms about the time we are supposed to play. We will see... Only three more days of school left and Nick is really looking forward to that!

Today's card was inspired by the sketch at Freshly Made. I decided to use the single stamp Boutique Blossom which is still available till July 31! I really like this big bold flower! I adhered a piece of Tea for Two designer paper to the bottom of a piece of Very Vanilla and then tied a piece of Early Espresso stitched grosgrain ribbon around it. This panel is adhered to a piece of Early Espresso that was punched along the bottom with the scallop edge border punch. This panel is popped up onto a card base of Very Vanilla. I stamped the flower onto Very Vanilla in Calypso Coral and Old Olive (for the stem) and then again in So Saffron (for the center). I cut these out. The flower center is adhered to the flower and then popped up onto the card. I stamped the sentiment from Sweet Essentials in Early Espresso and then used the Essentials paper piercing pack to pierce a line of holes along the bottom. Finally I added a few pearls to the flower center. Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Good morning, Friends! Can you believe that I am actually posting on a non designer day? Wow! I was able to get myself motivated and I was inspired by several sketches so I came up with some cards to post this weekend! Yea me!! I hope this will continue. And I did order some new goodies that I hope will be here early next week. That always seems to get the creative juices flowing again! I am trying to get myself moving a little earlier as I am meeting a high school friend for coffee and then it's off to the soccer fields for the end of the season tournament! Let's go get this, boys!

Today's card was inspired by Mary Jo's Lunchtime Sketch Challenge. I flagged then end of a piece of Epic Day designer paper and adhered it to a card base of Pool Party. Then I stamped the oval image from Oh, Hello in Pool Party onto Very Vanilla. The sentiment is stamped over this in Basic Grey. I used the Occasions paper piercing pack to pierce around the oval. The top right hand corner is rounded and then I added three brads before popping it up onto the card. I flagged the end of another piece of Epic Day designer paper and adhered it to the card. On Very Vanilla I stamped the flower image twice using Calypso Coral and Gumball Green markers. These are carefully cut out and arranged onto the card. The bottom one is glued flat and the top one is popped up. I threaded some linen thread through a grey button and adhered that tot he card. Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Good morning, Friends! The last Friday of school! Only three more days to be exact and then we can enjoy some summer fun! Got a big soccer tournament this weekend and that will be fun, too! But today I get to share with you the latest challenge from the Sketch Frenzy Friday team! This week's sketch was created by Kim Innis. Take a look!

Such a colorful and pretty sketch! I thought that I might add a sentiment to the sketch itself and call it good - lol! But I thought that might be cheating so I came up with this!

Instead of strips of different patterns of paper, I decided to use a piece of designer paper that had lines on it from the Sunshine and Sprinkles designer series paper and I adhered it to a card base of Whisper White. Then I cut a piece of Whisper White with the Top Note die and embossed it with the Cloudy Day embossing folder. I trimmed some off the side and popped up onto the card. Then I used the scallop circle punch and punched a the outline of the sun from Daffodil Delight. To get the pointed ends I put the scallop circle back into the punch and turned it slightly to punch each scallop. Clear as mud?? I know there are several tutorials on this I just don't have it handy right now. I'll try to find one later. Anyway, then I punched a circle from a piece of Sunshine and Sprinkles designer paper and sponged the edges with Daffodil Delight ink. I adhered these together and then to the card. I stamped the umbrella handle from Rain or Shine in Basic Grey and the top in Pacific Point onto Whisper White and carefully cut them out. These are adhered together and popped up onto the card. The sentiment is stamped in Basic Grey onto Whisper White and the end is flagged and then adhered to the card. I punched a flower from Daffodil Delight using the itty bitty shapes punch pack. It is adhered to the umbrella and a rhinestone is added to the flower center.

Check out the rest of the designers creations using this sketch at Sketch Frenzy Friday. I hope to see your creation linked up there, too! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Good morning, Friends! It's time for another Create with Connie and Mary Thursday challenge! This week we are being challenged with color!

So Saffron, Sahara Sand, and Soft Suede! Beautiful colors! And colors I never would have put together before now! I did have a hard time trying to figure out how I wanted to put them together. I pulled out my Beautiful Butterflies die and this is what came about!

I am quite pleased with how easily this came together once I decided on the butterflies! I haven't used this die in quite a while. I stamped the sentiment from Thoughts & Prayers in Soft Suede onto a piece of Sahara Sand and then sponged the edges in Soft Suede. This is adhered to a piece of So Saffron and then popped up onto a card base of Soft Suede. I cut two butterflies from the Tea for Two designer paper. I sponged the edges Soft Suede ink and adhered them together. To the back of the butterflies I adhered a folded piece of Victoria crochet trim and then popped up the butterflies onto the card. I tied some linen thread through a Neutrals designer button and adhered it to the butterfly.

I hope that you will visit the Create with Connie and Mary website to see even more inspiration! And I hope to see your creation using these fabulous colors! Thanks so much for stopping by and have a super day!

Good Friday morning, Friends! Woohoo! I am on my way to Ault to see my wonderful friend, Sherry! Becky and I will be driving up today and will be spending the weekend stitching, sewing, shopping, eating, laughing and who knows what else! I can hardly wait!

Want to see the newest sketch from the Sketch Frenzy Friday team? This week's sketch was created by Jennifer Wiede. Take a look!

So many possibilities! Love the clean look of this, too! Here's the direction I went!

I wanted to a little different. It is still a very simple card but I did a more of a collage look by layering my stamps. I am really going to miss this designer paper!! So much you can do with it! I took a piece of the First Edition specialty designer paper and stamped the coral image from By the Tide in Daffodil Delight and then the lobster right over that in Calypso Coral. It is a little hard to see, but I did stamp the fish image in Crumb Cake as well. Then I sponged the edges with Crumb Cake and adhered it to a piece of Basic Black. I added four brads and popped the panel up onto a card base of Crumb Cake. I stamped the circle image in black StazOn onto Very Vanilla and punched it out with the 1" circle punch. I added a mini brad and then adhered it to a strip of Very Vanilla that was stamped with the sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes also in black StazOn. This is popped up onto the card. I did sponge all the elements and the card base with Crumb Cake ink.

Be sure to visit the Sketch Frenzy Friday blog for more inspiration from the talented design team! I do hope you all get a chance to play along with us this week! We would love to see what you do with this week's sketch! Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

Good morning, Friends! It's time for the Thursday challenge at Create with Connie and Mary! This week we are being challenged with a sketch. Take a look!

This is such a super great sketch! There are so many possibilities and here is where I went with it!

I thought this sketch would be perfect to showcase designer paper! I chose to use the Epic Day designer paper and make it a little more masculine. I started by adhering three strips of the Epic Day washi tape to a card base of Basic Grey. Then I adhered a piece of Epic Day designer paper to a piece of Gumball Green and then popped it up onto the card. Then I stamped the sentiment from Sweet Essentials in Basic Grey onto Very Vanilla and flagged one end. This is adhered to the card. I stamped the circle image from By the Tide in Basic Grey onto Very Vanilla and punched it out with the 1" circle punch. I added a mini brad and popped it up onto the card. Super simple!!

Be sure to visit the Create with Connie and Mary to see what the other talented designers did with this fun sketch! I hope you will play along with us this week! We sure do love to see your creations! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Retro 62

Good morning, Friends! Wow! It has really been raining around here! I think it rained most of the night and it's still going strong! Woohoo!! We are so happy for that! I love the rain! I even got to hear thunder a couple of times yesterday! I'm just so glad it's not snow around here! I did see on the weather report that it would be snowing in the mountains. And that makes me happy when I don't have to travel over them - lol! Moisture! We really need it! I think the rain is inspiring me to stamp today! I hope to find my mojo again.

Today's card was inspired by the sketch from Retro Sketches. I once again was drawn to use the Epic Day designer paper. So I took a piece of that and wrapped a piece of Crumb Cake taffeta ribbon around it. I tied a Daffodil Delight button to the ribbon using linen thread. This piece is adhered to a strip of Gumball Green that was punched with the scallop edge border punch. Then I popped this up onto a card base of Crumb Cake. Then I stamped the cupcake bottom from Create a Cupcake in Crumb Cake and the top in Calypso Coral onto Very Vanilla. I punched these out with the Cupcake builder punch and popped them up onto the card. I stamped the sentiment in Crumb Cake onto a strip of Very Vanilla and flagged both ends. This is adhered to the card. Finally I punched a flower from the Epic Day designer paper using the itty bitty shapes punch pack and added it to the cupcake with a pearl. Oh and everything got a sponge bath in Crumb Cake. :) Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!!

CAS(E) This 26

Good morning, Friends! I hope your week is off to a great start! The soccer season ended this past weekend and now we will finish off it all off with a tournament at home next weekend. So we will have a free weekend! Woohoo! I get to spend it with a friend on the eastern slope! I am so excited! But there are things I need to get finished up before then! And stamping is one of them. I am feeling a real need to get some new product. I hope to have something new to show you all next week. We will see...

Today's card was inspired by the sketch at CAS(E) This.  I am loving the new Epic Day designer paper!! I just need more stamps images to go with it. But until then I am trying to make what I have work. I thought the fish from By the Tide would work well with the green and blue piece. And I did want to go for a more masculine look. So I took a piece of the Epic Day designer paper and adhered it to a card base of Sahara Sand. Then I stamped the greeting from Made for You (retiring at the end of this month - boo) in Basic Grey onto a piece of the Epic Day designer paper. I rounded the corner with the 3/4" circle punch and tied some linen thread around this piece. This is popped up onto the card. Then I stamped the fish from By the Tide onto Very Vanilla. I inked the fish up in Daffodil Delight and then took a sponge and daubed some Pool Party (hard to see) and some Gumball Green ink on it before stamping. I thought it turned out kinda cool! I cut the fish out and popped it up onto the card. Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Good morning, Friends! Woohoo! It's Friday! And it's time to reveal the newest sketch from the Sketch Frenzy Friday team! This week's sketch was created by ME!! Check it out!

I did have a lot of fun creating this card. Check it out!

I once again used the new Epic Day designer paper and Washi tape. I hope to become more comfortable using the Washi tape. And I do love how this turned out! I took a piece of Pool Party and sponged it with Pool party ink. Then I adhered two strips of the Epic Day Washi tape with the ends cut at an angle. Two strips of the Epic Day designer paper were cut into banners and then adhered to the card base of Pool Party. Then the Pool Party panel was popped up onto this. Then I punched a flower from a piece of the Epic Day designer paper using the Blossom punch and sponged the edges with Daffodil Delight ink. I punched two leaves from Gumball Green using the large oval punch. These are adhered to the back of the flower. I punched a circle from Pool Party using the 1 1/4" circle punch and sponged the edges with Pool party. The sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes was stamped in black StazOn and then the circle was adhered to the flower center. The flower was then popped up onto the card. Then I tied some linen thread through a Daffodil Delight button and adhered it to the card.

Be sure to visit the Sketch Frenzy Friday blog to see more great creations using this sketch! I do hope you will join in on the fun and create something special using the sketch! We always love to see what you come up with! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

CCMC 250

Good morning, Friends! I here with this week's challenge from the Create with Connie and Mary team! This week we have a color challenge! Take a look at this wonderful collection of colors!

Aren't they yummy!! I am in love with this combination! And what a perfect time to use the new Epic Day Washi Tape and designer paper! Here's what I came up with!

I used the sketch at The Paper Players to help me with the layout. I love the banners so this was easy to put together! I took a strip of Basic Grey to the Big Shot and ran it through with the Chevron embossing folder. This is adhered to a card base of Pool Party. Then I two prints from the Epic Day designer series paper to make two banners (the Calypso Coral and Pool Party ones). The third banner was made by taking the Washi Tape and putting it onto a strip of Whisper White. Then I trimmed it up and made a banner! The three banners are adhered to the card. I stamped the chevron image from Oh, Hello in Pool Party onto Whisper White. Then over the top of this I stamped the sentiment in Basic Grey. This is punched out with the 1 3/4" circle punch and adhered to a piece of Calypso Coral that was punched with the 2 3/8" scallop circle punch. I popped this up onto the card and added a Basic Grey button that was tied with some white baker's twine.

Be sure to visit the Create with Connie and Mary website to see what the other designers did with these colors. I hope you will be inspired to play along! I can't wait to see what you do with the fabulous colors! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!!

Washi Shell

Good morning, Friends! I am so glad to be back with a card this morning! I apologize for the lack of posts but it has been crazy busy around here and I just have been inspired lately. So I took a break and I will probably take a few more breaks here and there as there are a few events that will be taking place around here that may take my attention away from stamping. The major one being a move. We are certain how soon that will happen but we are preparing now to hopefully be ready when it does happen. And then there are the various sports that my son participates in. That will be coming to an end in a few weeks. Not to mention all the other spring time stuff going on. Yesterday was the big final track meet! I sat in the sun for 6 hours!! I was so thankful for clouds that covered the sun but still managed to get quite a burn. Nick took 6th in high jump (he jumped his personal best), 3rd in long jump (which ended up being not his best), 1st in triple jump and 1st in 4 x 100 relay!! Not too bad for his first season of track! It was really fun to watch!! So now we are just back to soccer. Thanks to all of you who were worried about me :)

Today's card was an experiment. I have been really wanting to try out this new product from Stampin' Up! This product will be in the new catalog. It is Washi Tape. Washi Tape has been out for a while but it will now be available from Stampin' Up!, too! And it is really fun to use!! I am just having a hard time figuring out how to use it on cards. And which stamps it will look good with. So I went searching and this is what I came up with. You will also see me using it on the next few cards. I stamped the coral stamp from By the Tide in Crumb Cake onto a piece of Crumb Cake card stock. Then I sponged the edges with Crumb Cake. I cut an oval from a piece of Vellum using the Ovals Collection framelits dies and stamped the sentiment from Perfectly Penned in Basic Grey. I sponged the edges with Crumb Cake. I adhered it to the card using the Epic Day Washi Tape! There is a small piece at the top and three strips along the bottom. I tied some linen thread around this and added two silver brads. This panel is popped up onto a card base of Crumb Cake. Then I stamped the shell onto Crumb Cake using Calypso Coral ink. I cut this out and sponged a bit with Crumb Cake before popping it up onto the card. Thanks so much for stopping by and have a super day!
