CCMC 305

Good morning, Friends! I am so sorry it's been a while since I have posted. I suddenly ran out of time for making cards before my parents got here. I actually have been making cards but they are for specific design editions. I will be back at it soon enough so hang in there - lol! Today is another challenge from the Create with Connie and Mary team! This week we have a sketch to play with. Take a look!

A super fun sketch and here's what I did!

I went a little regal with this!

  • Round the corners of a piece of gold foil card stock and adhere to a piece of Very Vanilla
  • Adhere a piece of gold designer vellum then adhere panel to card base is dimensionals
  • Adhere a strip of gold sequins to card

Golden Hearts

Good morning, Friends! I hope your weekend is off to a great start! Our niece is graduating today and it looks like it should be a beautiful day! Although rain is predicted later on. The Junior College World Series starts today, too! While we don't go to all the games, we do like to attend a few. And my parents get here tomorrow! Yeah!!! I went mountain biking for the first time in over 14 years! WOW! I forgot how much I love it! I rented a bike as I don't have one (my other one just got too old and needed way too many repairs). I am renting a different one tonight to see which one I might like better. Now I just need to get myself back into riding shape!! Nick is going to be on the high school mountain biking racing team this next fall. I am really looking forward to that! It's been a busy summer so far! And he's only been out of school since Wednesday afternoon - lol!!

Today's card was sort of an experiment. I am trying to find different ways to use this stamp set. And I think this definitely falls into the different category - lol! I took my color coach and spread out all the blues. The only pain was having to clean in between each ink color.

  • Card base is Very Vanilla
  • Adhere a strip of gold foil card stock to card base
  • On a piece of Very Vanilla, stamp the image from Work of Art in the various blue inks: Soft Sky, Pool Party, Tempting Turquoise, Marina Mist, Island Indigo, Night of Navy
  • Stamp the heart image using gold Encore ink
  • Adhere stamped panel to card with dimensionals
  • Make a tag from a piece of vellum
  • Adhere two strips of Watercolor Wonder washi tape to top of tag and punch a hole
  • Stamp the greeting using black StazOn ink
  • Tie a piece of gold twine through the tag then adhere tag to card using dimensionals
  • Punch a heart from gold foil card stock using the itty bitty accents punch and adhere to card
There you have it! Thanks for stopping by and have a fabulous day!

Peaceful Sand

Good morning everyone! Since school got out late Wednesday morning, Nick has been non-stop! I think I am running him around more now that school's out than when it was in session! And he doesn't have any practices or anything scheduled - lol! I'm glad he's enjoying spending time with friends! So that means I haven't had much time to stamp or spend time stamping in my room. I am hoping to today! I need some more cards for my blog and I need to finish up my June challenges! I had my carpets cleaned yesterday and it feels so good! My parents will be here later this weekend! So much fun!!

Today's card was one that I had originally done for the CCMC color challenge. But I just wasn't all that thrilled with it. I'm glad I changed it. I don't hate this card, just not thrilled with it. I am sure going to miss this set!

  • Card base is Whisper White
  • On a piece of Sahara Sand, stamp the flower image from Peaceful Petals randomly using Sahara Sand ink
  • Stamp greeting onto a strip of Whisper White using Basic Grey ink and adhere to Sahara Sand panel then adhere panel to card base
  • Stamp flower image onto a piece of Soft Sky using Soft Sky ink and cut out
  • Cut the leaves from Basic Grey card stock using the Little Leaves sizzlet (going to miss this, too)
  • Adhere leaves to card then adhere flower to card with dimensionals
  • Add a large rhinestone to flower center and two smaller ones by the greeting
Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Soft Sky, Sahara Sand and Basic Grey are the colors that we are to work with this week! I love all three of these colors but never would have thought to put them together! This is what emerged!

I love how this turned out! And it is really simple!

  • Card base is Whisper White
  • On a layer of Whisper White, stamp the splatter images from Gorgeous Grunge in Basic Grey and Soft Sky and then stamp the lines image in Sahara Sand

Nick has finals today and part of tomorrow and then that's it! WOW! I feel like this month has flown by! We had a great weekend of soccer! The boys won the tournament!! Such a great way to end their season!

Today's card shows off our blendabilities. I am in love with these markers and I can't wait for my customers to see how wonderful they are! Nick has his last soccer tournament of the season! And he only has 5 1/2 days left of school! Wow!! Today is our local high school's graduation and they are giving teachers and students a chance to attend. Lots going on this time of year! So Nick spent the night at a friend's house last night. Smoky Bliss

Good morning, Friends! I hope you all had a wonderful Mother's Day weekend! It was pretty rainy and cold all day around here. We were supposed to have a soccer game but it was cancelled due to weather. The boys won their game on Saturday so that secured their second place finish in their division! Woohoo! Because of the icky weather, we just did some errands and then hung around the house. I know Nick was bored but I thought it quite nice. And I didn't have to do anything! Today I have a sewing class on how to make a cute bag. Bags... do we ever have enough? Lol!

Today's card uses some new product! I got my preorder last week and have been playing! I was trying to come up with some swap cards for this month. I am loving the new In Colors! And this hostess set is one of my favorites! Here are the details:

  • Card base is Smoky Slate
  • Stamp the large flower image from Bloom with Hope in Smoky Slate and then stamp the greeting in Basic Grey
  • Flag the bottom of a strip of Blackberry Bliss and adhere it to the card
  • Flag the end of a strip of Whisper White
  • Stamp the flower image onto the piece of Whisper White using black StazOn
  • Color the image using Blackberry Bliss, Hello Honey and Mossy Meadow inks and a blender pen
  • Stamp the splatter stamp from Gorgeous Grunge over the colored image using gold Encore

ColourQ 240

Good morning, Friends! I am so thankful it's Friday! This has been a tough week to get up in the mornings! I am looking forward to sleeping in tomorrow! I have a massage today and I really need it! I will probably end up falling asleep on her table - lol! I got my box of new product on Wednesday and have been playing around with the new stuff! Oh what fun!! I look forward to showing you what I've done!

Today's card was the card I did with my shoebox club that met last night. This set, Word of Art, is one that demonstrators received at the Catalog Premier Party last month. I really love this set but it did have me stumped. I wasn't sure how to use it. Weird, I know. But I do like how this one turned out. I got my color combination from the colourQ challenge. Because Sage Shadow is retired, I didn't use that color. Here are the details:

  • Card base is Pear Pizzazz
  • Stamp the circle image from Work of Art in Pear Pizzazz several times along one edge of the card base and stamp some circles without reining
  • On a piece of Whisper White, stamp the chevron image using Pink Pirouette ink and a sponge (I sponged the ink onto the stamp instead of putting the stamp directly into the ink) three times
  • Adhere panel to a piece of Strawberry Slush card stock and then adhere to card with dimensionals
  • Made a tag from a piece of vellum by cutting the corners and flagging the bottom
  • On the back side of the tag, stamp the image in Strawberry Slush and let dry (you can blot it or use a heat tool to speed the drying)
  • On the front side, stamp the words in black StazOn
  • Fold a piece of Pink Pirouette ribbon in half and adhere to tag with glue dots
  • Tie a piece of white baker's twine through a vintage faceted button and adhere to tag (I curled the ends of the baker's twine with my finger nails)
  • Adhere tag to card by strategically placing glue dots behind the ribbon
  • Stamp the heart onto a piece of Whisper White using Strawberry Slush and cut out then adhere to card with dimensionals
  • Add a rhinestone to the heart
Thanks so much for stopping by and have a super day!

Card Recipe: Stamps- Work of Art; Paper- Pear Pizzazz, Strawberry Slush, vellum; Ink- Strawberry Slush, Pear Pizzazz, Pink Pirouette, black StazOn; Accessories- Pink Pirouette taffeta ribbon, white baker's twine, vintage faceted button, rhinestone, dimensionals

Good morning, Friends! I think I could have slept another few hours! Bring on the coffee! I hope I can wake up this morning and get some things done around here! The last few days haven't been productive ones for me. Although, I did manage to finish my quilted Christmas stockings! Those turned out really cute! I love them!! I am looking forward to displaying them at Christmas! Right now I am in need of some creative mojo! Maybe today??

Today's card was inspired by the sketch at Retro Sketches. Such a fun layout! I decided to pair up my forest animals with the word bubbles again.

  • Adhere a strip of Early Espresso that has been flagged at the bottom
  • On a piece of Whisper White, stamp the trees image from Life in the Forest in black StazOn and color them with Old Olive and Early Espresso markers

Golden Mother

Good morning, Friends! I hope your week is off to a great start! My son is counting the days till school is out! We have had some really warm days around here! And at Nick's soccer game this past weekend, I even got a pretty good sunburn! Now it looks to cool off a bit and I am ok with that! I didn't get much stamping done yesterday. I managed one card so I do hope that the mojo flows better today! I should be getting some new toys this week, too!

Today's card was inspired by a sketch I saw on the Hero Arts blog. Don't really know how closely I followed it but it did help create this.

  • Card base is Very Vanilla
  • Adhere three strips of Watercolor Wonder washi tape to card base
  • Stamp the greeting from Teeny Tiny Wishes in black StazOn
  • Stamp the splatter stamp from Gorgeous Grunge in gold Encore ink
  • Use the Beautiful Wings embosslit to cut a butterfly from Soft Sky

Stamp Review Crew: By the Tide

Hello everyone! It's that time again for another fabulous blog hop from the Stamp Review Crew! This time we are featuring the stamp set, By the Tide. You may have just hopped from Dawn's blog! But if you are just starting out here then you can still see all the great projects by clicking the links below! If you get lost or there are broken links, you can click the link at the top of this post to take you to the main blog and there will be a list of all the blog hop participants. Be ready to get some really fabulous ideas from this great stamp set!

I made a very super simple card using this set. I wanted to keep it masculine and nautical. Not being a nautical person I went to the High Tide designer series papers to see what colors were used in that paper. And that's where I started! Then I found a super simple sketch from Freshly Made Sketches. And here's what emerged!

I really like how it turned out even though it is very simple! And I think it would work perfectly for Father's Day, too! Here are the details:
  • Card base is Smoky Slate
  • Use the Circles framelits to cut a circle from Soft Sky card stock then cut off part of it to make it flat
  • Stamp the plant image from By the Tide in Soft Sky onto the flattened circle and sponge the edges with Soft Sky ink then adhere to card
  • Flag one end of a strip of Summer Starfruit and stamp the greeting from Four You in Pacific Point then adhere to card
  • Stamp lobster image in Calypso Coral onto Whisper White and cut out then adhere to card with dimensionals
  • Thread a piece of linen thread through a Basic Metal button and adhere to card
There you have it! Thanks for stopping by! Now to go and see what Nancy has done! Have fun hopping!

Good morning, Friends! What a busy week it has been! And so many fun things are happening! I had a great weekend with a great friend, then the new Stampin' Up! I can't wait for those to come to my door!! Yesterday was also an all-day sewing day for me with some great friends! I got a lot done, too! Then tonight I am looking forward to spending time with Becky doing some stitching! I haven't see her in a while and it will be fun to catch up! So I haven't had much time to stamp. I hope to have a card done for tomorrow but I'm not sure that will happen. I do have to get one done for the Stamp Review Crew hop that happens on Monday! Lots to do!!

  • Adhere a piece of the gold foil designer vellum to the scalloped panel
  • Tie a piece of gold twine around the panel and then adhere to card base with dimensionals
