SFF 113012

Good Friday morning everyone! It's the last day of November, it's Friday, AND it's Jennifer Weide's birthday!! Woohoo!! It's also the day that Sketch Frenzy Friday provides a new sketch challenge to play along with! This week's sketch was created by Kim Innis. Take a look!

Cute and simple! Love it! And in honor of Jennifer's birthday, I made a birthday card!

I have no idea if Jennifer likes pink but I wanted to try some different colors other than Christmas. So I went with Pink Pirouette, Primrose Petals and then a little Baja Breeze and So Saffron. Got this combination from the Color Coach. Such a great tool to get me out of a color rut - lol! So I started off by punching a 1 3/4" circle from silver glimmer paper. This is adhered to a piece of Pink Pirouette. Then I adhered a strip of Primrose Petals that was run through the Big Shot using the Tasteful Trim die. I used the Essentials Paper Piercing pack to pierce around the silver circle. Then I tied some Pink Pirouette taffeta ribbon around this. I stamped the greeting from Create a Cupcake in Primrose Petals and popped this panel up onto a card base of Primrose Petals. Then I stamped the cupcake bottom in Baja Breeze and the top in So Saffron and punched them out with the cupcake builder punch. These are popped up onto the card. For the finishing touch I punched a flower from Primrose Petals using the Itty Bitty punch pack and added a rhinestone.

Be sure to visit the Sketch Frenzy Friday website to see what all the other designers did with this sketch! I hope you will be inspired and find some time to play along with us this week! We always love to see what you come up with! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!! Happy Birthday, Jennifer!!

Good morning, Friends! Just a few more days of November left! Wow!!! Create with Connie and Mary have another fabulous challenge for us this week! This week we are being challenged with color. Take a look at these fantastic colors!

Wisteria Wonder, Baja Breeze and Silver Glimmer. BEAUTIFUL!!! Love these colors together! And I wanted to keep with the season so I made a Christmas card.

I just love Wisteria Wonder and will be very sad when it has to say good-by at the end of the Stampin' Up! year. It is such a beautiful soft purple! So I was glad to be able to use it for a Christmas card. I used the sketch from the Fab Friday challenge blog. First, I adhered a piece of silver glimmer paper to a card base of Wisteria Wonder. Then I adhered a strip of designer paper from the Twitterpated pack to the bottom half of a piece of Whisper White. I stamped the greeting from Greetings of the Season in Wisteria Wonder. Then I pierced two circles using the Essentials Paper Piercing pack. I used the Merry Minis punch pack to punch two ornaments from silver glimmer paper. These are popped up inside each circle. I used a ruler and the Wisteria Wonder marker to draw lines to make them look like ornaments. Then I tied a piece of Wisteria Wonder ruffled ribbon around this panel and popped it up onto the card.

Be sure to visit the Create with Connie and Mary website to see what the other designers did with these fabulous colors! I hope that you will be inspired and find some time to play along with us this week! We always love to see what you come up with! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

FMS 61

Good morning, Friends! Are you having a great week so far? The weather has been so unusually warm around here that it just doesn't feel like Christmas is so close! And that looks to be the trend through December! Wow! It's also kind of scary as we really need the moisture! I sure do hope that we get something. I keep playing Christmas music to remind me that it really is coming and I need to keep plugging along with my Christmas lists, shopping and making - lol! And it looks like I need to do a little stamping as this is my last card in my stash! The laundry also needs to be taken care of, too. Guess my day is planned out - lol!

Today's card was inspired by the sketch from Freshly Made. This is an older sketch and I made this card for a swap that I participated in earlier this month. Love the clean and simple look but the cutting and coloring were anything but simple! I would not plan on mass producing this one!! For a small swap it was fine. I punched a piece of Gumball Green with the dotted ribbon scallop punch and adhered this to a piece of Very Vanilla. The top corners of the Very Vanilla were rounded with a 1" circle punch. Then I stamped the sentiment from Bells & Boughs in black StazOn. I tied a piece of Crumb Cake seam binding ribbon around it. This panel is adhered to a piece of Cherry Cobbler that was run through the Big Shot using the Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder. This is then popped up onto the card base of Crumb Cake. I stamped the image in black StazOn onto a scrap of Very Vanilla and colored it using the Gumball Green and Cherry Cobbler markers. Then I carefully cut it out and popped it up onto the card. Lastly, I added a rhinestone to the greeting. Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Card Recipe: Stamps- Bells & Boughs; Paper- Crumb Cake, Cherry Cobbler, Very Vanilla, Gumball Green; Ink- black StazOn, Gumball Green, Cherry Cobbler; Accessories- Crumb Cake seam binding ribbon, Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder, dotted ribbon scallop punch, rhinestone, 1" circle punch, dimensionals

Seasoned Tree

Good morning, Friends! I hope your week is off to a great start! It was kind of nice last night to just be able to come home and not have to hurry off to get somewhere. I did have a Christmas frame class but was very laid back. And the frame is just beautiful! I put it up next to our tree and it looks great! Thanks, Becky!! Tonight should be more of the same! Now to figure out what I should make for dinner...

Today's card was inspired by one I had saved on Pinterest. I had it saved for quite a while and needed some inspiration so I turned there. Loved how easily this came together! The scalloped edged was made by running a piece of the Festival of Prints designer paper through the Big Shot with the Tasteful Trim die. This is is adhered to the back of a piece of Cherry Cobbler that had the bottom two corners rounded with the 1" circle punch. Then I wrapped a piece of Crumb Cake seam binding ribbon around this and then popped the panel up onto a card base of Crumb Cake. I stamped the greeting from Greetings of the Season in Cherry Cobbler onto a strip of Very Vanilla. This is adhered to the Cherry Cobbler panel. I stamped the tree from Scentsational Season in Gumball Green onto Very Vanilla and cut it out using the Holiday Collection framelits dies. This is popped up onto the card. Finally, I added a star that was punched with the merry minis punch pack from champagne glimmer paper. Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Card Recipe: Stamps- Greetings of the Season, Scentsational Season; Paper- Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake, Cherry Cobbler, champagne glimmer paper, Festival of Prints designer paper; Ink- Cherry Cobbler, Gumball Green; Accessories- Crumb Cake seam binding ribbon, Tasteful Trim die, Holiday Collection framelits dies, Merry Minis punch pack, 1" corner rounder, dimensionals

PPA 147

Good morning everyone! Here we are at the last week of November! Wow!! Where is all this time going? Lol!! It will be a fairly quiet week as Nick's sports are on hold for a bit. He will be doing Futsal (indoor soccer) but that won't start for another week. And he will be trying out for a competitive basketball team but that is also a week out. So we will be thankful for a quiet week with not a whole lot to do! Yea!! And we also need to get Nick focused on school again. He seems to be doing all right but it's good to get him focused every now and then - lol!

Today's card was inspired by the sketch at Pals Paper Arts. It's something a little different for me but I like the way it all came together. Another way to use this set!! I ran a piece of Cherry Cobbler through the Big Shot with the Fancy Fan embossing folder. Then I adhered a piece of the Naturals Composition specialty designer paper to one side. I also adhered a strip of champagne glimmer paper with both ends flagged. This panel is adhered to a card base of Midnight Muse. Then I stamped the sentiment from Rejoicing with You in Midnight Muse onto a piece of Very Vanilla and adhered this to a piece of Midnight Muse. I popped this up onto the card. I stamped the image in Midnight Muse and cut it out. This is adhered to the sentiment panel. It's hard to tell from the photo but I did add some pearls to the scallops of the image. That's all for today! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

CAS(E) This! #3

Good Sunday morning, Friends! We made it back home safe and sound yesterday! We made some really good time and were able to pick up some dinner on the way home. After we ate we unloaded the car and then put up the tree and Christmas decorations. And then we could sit back and watch a little college basketball the rest of the evening. Very nice! Before we left Kansas, we helped my mom put out her tree and like she said, it just doesn't feel like Christmas yet. And after putting out my decorations, I would have to agree! I feel like I have put up my tree in the middle of June or something - lol! Just doesn't seem "right". Hopefully, the weather will start to change and that will help me. Who knows. Either way I have to get going on my shopping and my creating!! But first things first - today it's about the Broncos!! Go Broncos!!

Today's card was inspired by the sketch at CAS(E) This. It's an older one. Love their sketches for a clean and simple card!! The color scheme on this one is a little different for me. I punched a 2 1/2" circle from a piece of designer paper from the Festival of Prints pack. Then I adhered a strip of Cherry Cobbler to one side and then to a card base of Very Vanilla. I stamped the greeting from Greeting of the Seasons in Cherry Cobbler. Then I cut a snowflake from champagne glimmer paper using the Snow Flurry die and popped it up onto the card. I accented it with three pearls. Easy!! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Wonderfall Thanks

Good morning everyone! A quick one this morning as we are headed out the door and home to Colorado! What a super great, fun, and special week we had! Can't wait to come back for Christmas!

Today's card was inspired by one I had save from Pinterest. And the last of my fall cards for a while. I adhered a piece of Early Espresso to a card base of Crumb Cake. Then I layered a piece of Orchard Harvest designer paper to a piece of Very Vanilla. I wrapped some linen thread around it a few times and popped it up onto the card. Then I stamped the leaves from Wonderfall in Cajun Craze and More Mustard onto Very Vanilla and cut them out. These are popped up onto the card. I tied some linen thread through a bronze button and added it to the card then I stamped the sentiment from Made for You in Early Espresso onto a strip of Very Vanilla and tucked it behind the button. Thanks so much for stopping by and have a super day!

SFF 112312

Good morning everyone! Are you glad it's Friday? And Black Friday, too!! I don't do Black Friday anymore. Too much stress for me! If I had it my way, I would have my Christmas shopping done already - lol! But it never works out that way. I am glad it's Friday because Sketch Frenzy Friday has a new sketch for you! This week's sketch was created by Jennifer Weide! Take a look!

A super simple and clean sketch! Just what we all need around the holidays! And here is what I created!

Doesn't get much easier than this! I stamped the greeting from Greetings of the Season in Cherry Cobbler onto a Very Vanilla card base. Then I adhered a strip of designer paper from the Festival of Prints pack with the end flagged. I stamped the ornament from Delightful Decorations in Cherry Cobbler and punched it out with the ornament punch. On the back, I taped a bit of linen thread to create a hanger. This ornament is then popped up onto the card. Then I stamped the center piece in Old Olive and punched it out with the 3/4" circle punch. I popped this up onto the card and added a rhinestone. You might notice, too, that I did flip the sketch.

Be sure to visit the Sketch Frenzy Friday blog to see what the other designers created using this fabulous sketch! And I hope that you will find time to create along with us! We love it when you do! Thanks for stopping by and have a fabulous day!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Hello everyone! And Happy Thanksgiving! We are taking the turkey to my sister's house and enjoying the day with her family. I am looking forward to football games and a great dinner!!

Today's card was inspired by last week's Mojo Monday sketch. I did leave off a few elements but they just didn't look quite right on my card. So I just kept it very simple! I adhered a piece of Orchard Harvest designer paper to a card base of Crumb Cake. Then I stamped the sentiment from Seasonal Sayings in Midnight Muse and Raspberry Ripple onto a piece of Crumb Cake. Then I stamped the leaf from Wonderfall in Crumb Cake right over the sentiment. I used the scallop trim punch on the edge of the piece and then sponged it with Crumb Cake ink. This is adhered to a piece of Midnight Muse. Then I tied a piece of Midnight Muse stitched satin ribbon around this before popping it up onto the card. Thank you so much for stopping by and have a wonderful Thanksgiving!!

Control Freaks Tour - Christmas Style

Hello everyone and welcome to another Control Freaks Blog Tour! I am so glad you are here! You may have just come from Judy DiScipio's blog filled with beautiful projects! Or maybe you just landed here. Either way, I hope that you will be inspired by what you see! This month's theme is Christmas!

My first project is a card.

I took a piece of the Naturals Composition specialty designer paper and sponged Cherry Cobbler onto it. I love how the design of the paper resists the ink! Such a cool technique!! Then I adhered this to a piece of Early Espresso and popped the panel up onto a card base of Crumb Cake. Then I added a strip of champagne glimmer paper. I took a piece of Very Vanilla to the Big Shot and cut the shape using the Labels framelits dies. I stamped the greeting from Rejoicing with You in Early Espresso and popped this up onto the card. The image is stamped in Crumb Cake onto Very Vanilla and cut out. This is also popped up onto the card. I added three pearls to the bottom of the label as well.

For my second project I made two ornaments!

My friend, Alison, showed us how to make these ornaments in our shoebox club earlier this year. I had always wanted to learn and now I know! They are really fun and pretty easy! And I love that you can use up scraps of designer paper, too! Each of these is made using the Festival of Prints designer paper. I used varying lengths of strips and then stapled them to the length of the center strip. I cut an extra little piece to cover the staples and then punched a hole at the top with the crop-a-dile. A piece of white baker's twine was tied to make the hanger.

That's it for me! Be sure to head on over to Cindy Major's blog to see her fabulous creations! Thanks so much for stopping by and have a super day!

Happy Birthday, Nick!

Good morning, Friends! We made it to my parents' house yesterday late afternoon and are having a super time so far!! We will be making our way up to Kansas City for an interment for my sister's mother-in-law. And while we are there we will get to see my brother! Even though he will be here tomorrow it will be fun to see him today, too! And today happens to be Nick's 13th birthday!! Happy birthday, Nick!! I can't believe we have an official teenager! Yikes!!

So today's card is dedicated to Nick. I didn't happen to have any teenager type stamps in my stash. In fact, I really want Stampin' Up! to come up with some more teenager/grunge type stamps! But I used what I had on hand and here is what I came up with. And I paired it all up with some of his favorite colors! I took a piece Basic Black and cut out the shape with the Perfect Pennants die and then ran it through the Big Shot again with the Chevron embossing folder. I adhered it to a piece of Whisper White and added two gold brads. I stamped the greeting from Bring on the Cake in black StazOn and colored it in with Gumball Green, Melon Mambo and Summer Starfruit markers. This piece is then adhered to a piece of Gumball Green and then popped up onto a card base of Whisper White.

I just want to remind everyone that the Control Freaks blog tour will be up and running tomorrow evening. Be sure to stop by then to take the tour and be inspired for Christmas!! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!!

CAS(E) This 1

Good morning, Friends! I hope your weekend is going wonderfully! We are in Denver at the moment and will leave in a while to head to my parents' house for the Thanksgiving holiday!! I am SO excited to see my family! We decided to leave a little yesterday afternoon to get a jump on our travels. After Nick's basketball game - which didn't turn out like we would have wanted - we went to Cabella's and got his birthday present. He got a bow!! He was so excited to get it! So I know what he will be doing while at Grandpa and Grandma's house - lol!!

Today's card was inspired by the very first sketch at CAS(E) This Sketch. I LOVE their sketches! So I gave some of the others a try. I thought this one turned out pretty sweet. I punched three 1" circles from Very Vanilla and then embossed them with the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder. These are then adhered to a piece of Very Vanilla, leaving room for my flower. Then I adhered this panel to a piece of Early espresso. I stamped the flower and the stem from Perfectly Preserved in More Mustard and Lucky Limeade onto a scrap of Very Vanilla and cut them out using the Cannery framelits dies. The stem is adhered with a glue dot and the flower has a metallic brad in it and is then popped up onto the card. Then I used my stamp-a-ma-jig to help me line up the greeting. This panel is popped up onto a card base of Very Vanilla with a piece of Orchard Harvest designer paper. Thanks for stopping by and have a fabulous day!

Card "Create"tions Favor Week 3

Good morning everyone! I hope you are ready for a super weekend! I know we are!! We are so super excited as Nick will have is District Basketball Finals today and he is looking forward to getting his birthday present (a little early) and then we get ready to go on a little vacation to see my family for Thanksgiving!!! So excited!!

Today marks the last of the Create with Connie and Mary Card "Create"tions Holiday Edition. :( I have had the best time being a part of this and I feel so honored that I was asked! Thank you Connie and Mary!! As you know, on Saturday we show you all a small favor that we have created using our featured stamp set. I used Frosty Friends this week. What a truly adorable stamp! I am all about snowmen! I really haven't met a snowman I didn't like - lol! My favor today is a little ornament. I had some trouble coming up with something using just this one stamp but I think that this turned out really sweet! I used the Oval Accent die to cut two shapes from muslin. On one piece I stamped the image in black StazOn and colored it in using a blender pen and ink pads. I used Real Red, Gumball Green, Pool Party, Pumpkin Pie and Crumb Cake. Then I put the two shapes together and used some linen thread and a needle to sew the two shapes together. Before sewing the whole thing closed, I stuffed some poly fill into it to make a little poofy. Then I sewed it shut. I found some old wire and weaved it through the stitches and shaped it. Then I added some Victoria crochet trim, linen thread and a bronze button. Too fun!!

You can see what the other designers created by visiting the Create with Connie and Mary website. If you haven't subscribed to the "Create"tions Edition, why not do so now? You will still have access to ALL of the cards that each designer created including the downloadable pdf files on supplies and measurements! For those of you who did subscribe, I just want to say "Thank You"!! I hope you had as much fun as I did! Thank you all for stopping by and have a super day!

Good morning everyone! Yea!! It's Friday! And Sketch Frenzy Friday has a new sketch to play along with this week! This week's sketch was created by me! Take a look!

And here's my card!

For my card I stamped the jar from Perfectly Preserved in Early Espresso onto a piece of Very Vanilla then cut it out using the Cannery framelits dies. I adhered this to a strip of Early Espresso that was flagged at the bottom. This is adhered to a card base of Crumb Cake which has a piece of Orchard Harvest designer paper. Then I stamped the lid in Raspberry Ripple and cut it out. I wrapped some linen thread around the lid before popping it up onto the jar. I punched a piece of vellum using the oval scallop and then pierced an oval using the paper piercing essentials pack. I stamped the greeting in Early Espresso onto Very Vanilla and cut it out I popped this up onto the vellum piece and then popped up the vellum piece onto the jar. Finally I added an Early Espresso button with some linen thread.

CCMC 227

Hello everyone!! Time for another Thursday challenge from the Create with Connie and Mary team! This week Connie and Mary have a little "twist" to go along with the sketch challenge! First, take a look at this very fun sketch!

Great sketch, huh!!! But this week's challenge is not just about the sketch. It's also about making a shaped card! I don't usually do these kind of cards but I was really excited about using a new die. I got this die right when the new catalog came out but I haven't used it yet! Perfect time!

I took an 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" piece of Very Vanilla and folded it in half - which makes a regular card. Then I placed it on the Oval Accent die where the fold of the card was just under the top of the die. Then I ran it through the Big Shot to cut out the shape. Then I added two strips of champagne glimmer paper. I used my snips to cut the strips to the shape of the card. Then I stamped the verse from Rejoicing with You in Elegant Eggplant onto the card and the image also in Elegant Eggplant onto a scrap of Very Vanilla. I cut the image out and popped it up onto the card. I added five pearls that spray out of the trumpet. Simple! I do love how this turned out and it will fit inside a regular envelope!

To get more inspiration be sure to visit the Create with Connie and Mary website! I hope you will find some time to play along with us this week! We always love to see what you do with the challenges! This challenge will go for two weeks (due to the Thanksgiving holiday).

I also want to put one more shout-out to the Create with Connie and Mary Card "Create"tions Holiday Edition! We are on our last week. However, when you subscribe, you will get ALL the downloadable sheets and access to all the blog post entries! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

For Sharon

Good morning, Friends! Are you having a great week so far? We are half way through it! The weeks seem to be flying by! So why can't I seem to get anything done? My sister contacted me yesterday to tell me her mother-in-law had passed away. I had the honor of knowing her and what a wonderful lady she was!! She will be dearly missed especially by her family but also by the community. She did so much for the mentally handicapped in her community! She definitely was an amazing woman! But cancer is such an awful disease! I sure do hope we find a cure for it! Anyway, I wanted to make a card to send to my sister and her family. I know my nieces and nephew are missing her terribly, too. As is my brother-in-law. Love you all!!

So today's card is for my sister and her family. I had found a card that I had saved quite a while ago (like more than a year) because I liked the layout. I got my color combination from the Color Coach. I flagged the end of a strip of First Edition designer paper to a card base of Rose Red. Then I stamped the sentiment from Thoughts & Prayers onto a piece of Naturals Ivory. At the bottom of this panel I added a strip of Rose Red that had been punched with the dotted ribbon scallop punch. This is adhered to a piece of Wild Wasabi and then the panel is popped up onto the card. Then I took some So Saffron to the Big Shot and ran it through using the Beautiful Wings embosslit. I used three butterflies and adhered them to the card. To the largest one I added a strip of pearls. Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Not a Very Merry Monday 41

Good morning, Friends! I hope your week is off to a great start! Nick's basketball team ended their season with a win! So that was fun and exciting! Now we have the district tournament to look forward to at the end of this week! I think that basketball has worn him out! He is ready for a little vacation! I didn't seem to get much done yesterday - ugh! I hate it when that happens! So I really need to focus and get going! Here's hoping that it all comes together today!

Today's card was inspired by the Merry Monday sketch at Always Playing with Paper. I love the trio of circles (or any shape that you might want to have)! The Merry Monday sketch challenge is meant to be a Christmas card but I am still trying to get as many fall cards in as I possibly can. So I went in a different direction but still used the sketch. And that is also the reason for the blog title - lol! A very easy card! I adhered a strip of Orchard Harvest designer paper to the front of a Crumb Cake card base and then three 1 3/8" punched circles from Early Espresso. On Very Vanilla I stamped the apple from Perfectly Preserved in Raspberry Ripple and the stem in Lucky Limeade three times then cut them out using the Cannery framelits dies. These are popped up onto each circle. Then I stamped the greeting from Made for You in Early Espresso. And you can probably tell that I had to punch out my greeting from another piece of Crumb Cake. That is because I messed it up on my card and didn't want to take it all apart to do it over. And I do wish that I had added some rhinestones. That would have been really cute, too. Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

CAS(E) This #5

Good Monday morning, Friends! Here we are at another week! I just can't believe that Thanksgiving is next week! WOW!! I am so excited for it, too! Nick has his last Middle School basketball game today and then the tournament starts on Thursday! And then we will be leaving to see my family in Kansas next Sunday! But there is still a lot of things that need to get done before that happens. So, one thing at a time - lol! Boy did it get cold around here! Winter has arrived! We even got a bit of snow here on Saturday.

Today's card was inspired by CAS(E) This Sketch! This is a new challenge site for me. I was excited to try this sketch out. Very clean and simple! I did stray away from my fall/Thanksgiving cards that I wanted to make but I like the way this one turned out! I stamped the greeting from Sweet Essentials in Cherry Cobbler onto a piece of Very Vanilla and then tied a piece of Cherry Cobbler seam binding ribbon around it before popping the panel up onto a card base of Very Vanilla. Then I took three Very Vanilla strips and flagged the bottoms. These are adhered under the ribbon. Then I used the Merry Minis punch pack to punch the tree from Gumball Green, the ornament from Cherry Cobbler, and the star from champagne glimmer paper. These are popped up onto each of the flagged strips. Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

An Inspiring Day - Winter Memories

Hello everyone! I am participating in something new for the next few months! The stamp group that I am a part of is doing a blog tour featuring a certain stamp set each month! How cool is that!! So you will be able to take a tour of several different blogs that will showcase a certain stamp set and get a TON of ideas! I love it!! This month we are featuring the stamp set, Winter Memories. I loved this set when I first saw it in the Holiday mini catalog! The ice skates in the set is what first caught my eye! But my card today shows another image from the same set. Take a look!

Isn't this image beautiful? I love how elegant it is! I ran a piece of shimmer white card stock through the Big Shot using the Northern Flurry embossing folder. Then I stamped the image in black StazOn and colored it in with various ink colors and a blender pen. Then I adhered this to a piece of Crumb Cake and then popped up this panel onto a card base of Cherry Cobbler. Then I stamped the sentiment in black StazOn onto a strip of Whisper White and flagged one end before adhering it to the card. Finally, I added a pearl to the center of the bow on the image. Very simple!! And very mailable!!

Card "Create"tions Favor Week 2

Good morning everyone! I am so excited to show you my favor for week 2 of the Create with Connie and Mary Card "Create"tions! Are you a subscriber? It's not too late to become a subscriber and still enjoy ALL the projects and downloadable sheets! This past week I used the Rejoicing with You stamp set!

This is such a beautiful and elegant set! I loved working with this set! And I hope that you enjoyed my projects! For my favor, I decided to use the Petal Cone die and the Naturals Composition specialty designer paper. I thought that the musical notes of the designer paper would work perfectly with this set! And I love how it turned out! My only regret is that I don't have anything Christmas-y to put in it. But I used two pieces of the designer paper and ran it through the Big Shot with the Petal Cone die. Then I used sticky strip to adhered the two pieces together. I punched two holes on either side and used Victoria crochet trim to make a handle. Then I stamped the image from Rejoicing with You in VersaMark onto Very Vanilla and embossed it with gold embossing powder. I cut it out and adhered it to the front with dimensionals. I cut the banner from the Petal Cone die in Very Vanilla and stamped the sentiment in black StazOn. This is adhered to the image on the box. And the box is ready to be filled with some fun Christmas goodies! Or it could be a beautiful ornament!

Be sure to visit the Create with Connie and Mary website to see what the other designers have come up with! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

SFF 110912

Good Friday morning everyone! I am so glad it's Friday!! And it's time for another great sketch challenge from the Sketch Frenzy Friday team! This week's sketch was created by Tammy Fite. Take a look!

Great sketch!! Love the clean and simple look of this one! I wanted to keep going with the fall/Thanksgiving theme so here is what I came up with!

I wanted to create a sort of background so I stamped the leaf from Wonderfall in Crumb Cake onto a card base of Crumb Cake. And then once I covered it up with the three strips of designer paper from the Orchard Harvest pack, I realized that you can't really even see it - lol! Oh well. Then I stamped a different leaf from the same set in Cajun Craze onto Very Vanilla and cut it out. This is popped up onto the card. Then I stamped the greeting from Teeny Tiny Wishes in Cajun Craze onto a strip of Very Vanilla and flagged both ends before adhering it to the leaf image. It may be hard to tell from the photo, but I took the color spritzer tool and the Crumb Cake marker and spritzed some color over the card.

Be sure to visit the Sketch Frenzy Friday blog to see what the rest of the designers did with this sketch. I hope you are inspired to play along this week! We always love to see what you do with our sketches! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

CCMC 226

Good morning, Friends! I hope your week is going super! It's time for another Thursday challenge from the Create with Connie and Mary team! This week we are being challenged with color! Take a look at these fabulous colors!!

Cajun Craze, More Mustard, and Midnight Muse! So pretty together and yet I had such a hard time actually putting them together - ugh! I hate it when that happens. So I used a lot of white space with mine. Not totally what I was going for but it works for the challenge.

I have been wanting to make more autumn/Thanksgiving cards as this season seems to just fly by. I ran a piece of Whisper White through the Big Shot with the Woodgrain embossing folder. Then I adhered a piece of Cajun Craze to this and wrapped a piece of Midnight Muse stitched satin ribbon around the panel before popping it up onto a card base of Whisper White. On another piece of Whisper White I stamped the sentiment from Seasonal Sayings in Midnight Muse and popped this up onto the card. Finally, I stamped the leaf from Wonderfall in More Mustard onto a piece of Whisper White and popped this up onto the card. Very simple!

Be sure to check it out what the other designers did with these colors. You can find their fabulous creations on the Create with Connie and Mary website. I do hope that you will be inspired to play along with us this week! Be sure to upload your creation to the website so that we can all take a look!

Fab Friday 05 Again

Good morning everyone! So glad that it is the middle of the week! Looking forward to the weekend! It has been a little busy around here. Nick's team lost their game yesterday but I thought they played pretty darn good! Can't win them all and they are still learning a lot about themselves and the game. The team they played yesterday will also be going to the same high school so when they all meet up in a few (short) years, that high school should have a very awesome team!! That will be exciting! It should be a quiet evening around here - yea!! Then another game tomorrow! Now to figure out what's for dinner tonight...

Today's card was inspired by the sketch at Fab Friday. I had done a card for that challenge earlier but couldn't resist doing another. I just love the clean and simple look of the sketch! And I thought my new single stamp would be perfect! On my Naturals Ivory card base I traced around a Label framelit die then I adhered a strip of Orchard Harvest designer paper with both ends flagged. Then I cut two Labels (the same size) from Naturals Ivory. On one I cut the top and bottom off and then stamped the image using my Cajun Craze and Old Olive markers. I used the dotted ribbon scallop punch to punch a strip of Old Olive card stock and then this is popped up onto the other label. Then the label is popped up onto the card. And it's hard to tell, but I did add a tiny pearl to the top of the image. Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

FMS 59

Good morning, Friends! It was a little hard for me to wake up this morning! In fact, I am still having a hard time keeping my eyes open! Geesh! And it's only Tuesday! Another basketball game today! They won their game yesterday by one! And Nick made that basket from a free throw! He was really excited about that! Today will be a really tough team so I hope they will really be "on"! Should be lots of fun!

Today's card was inspired by the sketch at Freshly Made. I missed the deadline to play in their challenge but this sketch is a fun one! Love the squares! I know that I had been wanting to make as many fall/Thanksgiving cards as I can but I just couldn't resist using some Christmas goodies - lol! For this card I adhered a strip of designer paper from the Festival of Prints pack to a piece of Crumb Cake and then tied some Cherry Cobbler seam binding ribbon around that. Then this is adhered to a card base of Crumb Cake. I used the Postage Stamp punch to punch four squares from Very Vanilla and then adhered a square of Very Vanilla to each of those. These are adhered to the card. Then I used the Merry Minis punch pack to punch an ornament from Cherry Cobbler, the tree from Lucky Limeade and the star from champagne glimmer paper. I popped each of these up onto the squares. I stamped the greeting from Teeny Tiny Wishes in Cherry Cobbler onto a strip of Very Vanilla and flagged both ends. This is popped up onto he fourth square. Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Christmas Squares

Good morning, Friends! Another week is here! I just can't believe how quickly the time goes by! I was able to get two more gifts done for my nieces yesterday. I only have one more to go!! But then I need to figure out what else I need to get them or make for them. And my husband isn't much help there - lol! And what am I going to do for the rest of the family? So many decisions and so little time! And tonight Nick has a basketball game! I just love to watch him and his team! Right now they have won 4 and only lost 1! Keep up the great work, Fruita!!

Today's card was inspired by one that I did at Becky's card class last month. A super simple one and I just loved the squares from the designer paper! On a piece of Very Vanilla, I adhered squares of designer paper from the Festival of Prints pack and one Very Vanilla square that is popped up onto the panel. I punched the tree from champagne glimmer paper with the Merry Minis punch pack. I stamped the greeting from Greetings of the Season in Cherry Cobbler and then tied some Cherry Cobbler seam binding ribbon around this panel. The panel is popped up onto a card base of Very Vanilla. Easy!! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Cajun Thanksgiving

Good Sunday morning everyone! Did you remember to set your clocks back last night? We didn't but at least we remembered that when we woke up. But now we need to remember to physically set them back soon or we will really be confused - lol! What a beautiful day is in store for us! And the Broncos have an early game! That should be fun!! I can sit and watch football while working on some Christmas gifts. That is starting to sneak up on me - Yikes!!

Today's card was inspired by one that I did in Becky's card class. I got this sentiment a while ago and wanted to use it. I don't really have any Thanksgiving type sentiments so I got this one during the Single Stamp promotion (which is still going on). It was nice to just order the one stamp. It comes from the Seasonal Sayings set. But first I stamped the leaf from Wonderfall in Cajun Craze onto a piece of Crumb Cake (stamping off once) and rounded the corner. Then I stamped the sentiment on top in Early Espresso. I also stamped the sentiment again onto a scrap of Crumb Cake in Early Espresso. On the scrap piece I cut out the "thanks" and popped it up onto the main panel. The Crumb Cake piece is adhered to a piece of Early Espresso that also has the corner rounded. This panel is popped up onto a card base of Crumb Cake with a layer of Orchard Harvest designer paper. For a little embellishment I tied a piece of Victoria crochet trim to a bronze button with linen thread and adhered it to the card. Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Card "Create"tions Favor Week 1

Good morning everyone! I hope your weekend is off to a great start! Have you been enjoying the Card "Create"tions Edition over at Create with Connie and Mary? If you haven't signed up, it's not too late! You can sign up now and still enjoy all the creations! We are just finishing up week 1! On Saturday we show you all a small favor using the set that we used for our projects. I used the Evergreen set so my favor features that set, too. But the only way you will get to see my cards and download the project sheets is to be a subscriber to the Create with Connie and Mary Cards "Create"tions Edition

My favor is very simple! I had ordered the Ghoulish Googly designer kit and it came with these really cool vellum sacks. I filled it up with Wintergreen mints. Then I took some Cherry Cobbler card stock and ran it through the Big Shot with the Two Tags die. I used the tag with the scallop top. I folded this over the bag and stapled it into place. Then I stamped the solid part of the tree in Lucky Limeade (stamping off once) and then the detail part on top. I cut it out and popped it up onto the tag. Then I stamped the greeting from Teeny Tiny Wishes in Cherry Cobbler onto a strip of Whisper White. Both ends were flagged and the strip is adhered to the tree. Very simple!

You can see what the other designers used for their stamp set this week and the favors they created at Create with Connie and Mary! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

SFF 110212

Good Friday morning, Friends! The design team at Sketch Frenzy Friday has a new sketch for you all this week! This week's sketch was created by Patrice Herrera. It's a little hard to tell the borders but I guess that can give you a lot of freedom - lol! Take a look!

I feel like my card this week resembles my card last week - lol! Lots of Cherry Cobbler and Very Vanilla. But here is what I came up with.

I do think the card has a sort of elegant feel to it. On a card base of Very Vanilla I stamped the larger of the sentiments from Rejoicing with Youin Cherry Cobbler. Then I took a strip of Very Vanilla and flagged one end. Then I ran it through the Big Shot using the Fancy Fan embossing folder and adhered it to the card. On a scrap piece of Very Vanilla, I stamped the image in Cherry Cobbler and cut it out. This is popped up onto the card. Then I stamped the verse in Cherry Cobbler on a small piece of Very Vanilla and adhered it to the image. Elegant and simple! A great card to mass produce and very mailable!

Be sure to visit the Sketch Frenzy Friday blog to see all the fabulous creations from the talented design team! I do hope you will find some time to play along with us this week! We always love to see what you create from our sketches! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

CCMC 225

Good morning everyone! And welcome to another Thursday challenge from the team at Create with Connie and Mary! I hope that you are inspired and will be able to play along with us this week! This week we are being challenged with a fabulous sketch! Take a look

Love this super simple and clean sketch! And that's what I tried to do on my card. Take a look!

I also wanted to do a fall theme. I layered a piece of Orchard Harvest designer paper onto a piece of Early Espresso and then wrapped a piece of Early Espresso 1/8" taffeta ribbon around this. This panel is then popped up onto a card base of Very Vanilla. Then I took a piece of Very Vanilla and used the Apothecary Accents to cut the shape. I stamped the greeting from Teeny Tiny Wishes in Early Espresso and then used the paper piercing essentials pack to pierce the shape inside the frame. On a scrap of Very Vanilla I stamped the flowers from Perfectly Preserved in More Mustard and the stems in Lucky Limeade. These are cut out with the Cannery framelits dies. Early Espresso brads are put into the flower centers and then popped up onto the frame. The stems are adhered with glue dots. The frame is popped up onto the card.

Be sure to visit the Create with Connie and Mary website to see what the other fabulous designers did with this sketch! I hope to see your creation uploaded on their site! We always love to see what you do!
