Peaceful Thinking

Good morning, Friends! Well we made it home safe and sound yesterday! However, when we walked into our house, we discovered that the heat is not working. NOT good!!! We don't know how long the heat has been out but everything else is in working order. Thankfully Nick spent the night at a friend's house so he stayed warm. We went out for dinner then came home and wrapped up in blankets and watched the K-State football game. We do have a gas fireplace and a space heater so there is a little heat for us - lol! I'm just thankful to have hot water and no broken pipes! PTL!!! We are hoping to get it all fixed today so we can get warm!!

Today's card uses some new products that will be coming out in the Occasions mini catalog on January 3. I look out my window and it looks like a frozen tundra so this card takes me to a time when it will be warm and sunny - lol! Here are the details.

  • Card base is Pistachio Pudding
  • Layer of Pistachio Pudding - stamp leaves image from Peaceful Petals in Pistachio Pudding, stamp greeting in black StazOn and sponge edges of layer with Pistachio Pudding then adhere to card base with dimensionals
  • Punch circle from Naturals white card stock with 2 1/2" circle punch
  • Stamp flower in black StazOn and use a blender pen with Crisp Cantaloupe, Pistachio Pudding and Summer Starfruit inks to watercolor the image
  • Sponge edges of circle with Pool Party
  • Use the Perfect Pennants die to cut a scallop circle from Basic Black and adhere to flower circle then adhere to card with dimensionals
  • Add rhinestone
I hope you all are staying warm! It will be a nice cozy day to watch the Broncos! Thanks for stopping by!

I am trying to keep my stamping and posting going on a regular basis again. And I think I am doing pretty good - lol! What a great time we had! Nick has another week off of school so we will be enjoying some nice quiet and relaxing time at home. Need to get some things done, too. And I think Nick will be ready to see some of his buddies!

Good morning everyone! I hope you all had a truly wonderful and blessed day yesterday! It is time for another great Thursday challenge from the Create with Connie and Mary team! This week we have a sketch! Take a look!

And my card...

With Christmas being over, I decided to try my hand at something that would be festive for welcoming the New Year in. And the Happy Hour set immediately came to mind! My card is cut at 4 1/4" x 8 1/2" and then folded in half to make a 4 1/4" square card. Here are the details:

  • Card base is Smoky Slate
  • Layer of Smoky Slate that was run through the Big Shot using the Mosaic embossing folder, then adhere to a layer of Basic Black and then adhere to card with dimensionals
  • Punch a scallop circle from red glimmer paper and adhere to card
  • Stamp glasses from Happy Hour onto Whisper White using Smoky Slate ink and cut out
  • On back side of silver glimmer paper, stamp the glasses again and cut out the inside part then adhere to the cut out shapes
  • Adhere glasses to card with dimensionals
  • Stamp greeting in black StazOn onto a strip of Whisper White, flag the end and adhere to card
A pretty simple card with a lot of fussy cutting. Be sure to visit the Create with Connie and Mary site to see what the other designers did with this sketch! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Santa Hat Greetings

Good morning, Friends! And Merry Christmas Eve! Things are getting pretty exciting around here! It did snow a little more here yesterday and today it looks just plain cold out there! In fact the wind is blowing. I think we are going to go see a movie later today but otherwise it's another cozy day indoors - lol!

Today's card was inspired by a few on Pinterest that used a punch art Santa hat. I thought it was just too cute not to try and recreate! To make the Santa hat use the extra large oval punch and punch an oval from Real Red. Then us the Word Window punch to make the little "crook" (just slide the red oval into the punch just a bit). Punch an oval scallop from Whisper White and then slide the scalloped oval into the extra large oval punch to make the lower curve. Adhere the Whisper White piece to the red piece. Use the 1/2" circle punch to punch a circle from silver glimmer paper and adhere to end of hat. Now for the rest of the card details:

  • Card base is Whisper White
  • Layer of Whisper White that was run through the Big Shot using the Northern Flurry embossing folder
  • Stamp greeting from More Merry Messages in Real Red onto Whisper White layer and adhere to card with dimensionals
  • Adhere Santa hat to card with dimensionals
  • Add rhinestones to snowflake centers
Have a wonderful day and thanks for stopping by!

Single Tree

Good morning, Friends! I am happy to report that I did get my Christmas shopping done yesterday! And I got almost everything wrapped! Woohoo! I think we will be ready to have Christmas before we leave to see my parents! Nick starts a few of his finals today. I think we will have a quiet couple of evenings as he doesn't have basketball practice. That will be nice. Seems like we have been running all over!

Today's card is a simple one! I was able to get a card stamped yesterday before I set out to shop! Had to make it quick so this fit the bill! Here are the details:

  • Card base is Whisper White

  • Round the upper right hand corner of the layer with the 1" circle punch then adhere to card base with dimensionals
  • Stamp tree in Old Olive and cut out then adhere to card with dimensionals

But I did not venture out to shop at all! Sooo… It looks like today is the day! But I think I am a little more ready to do it. I just hope I can get it all done fairly quickly! Then Nick has an indoor soccer game and more basketball practice. Busy, busy, busy! His finals are also coming up this week. He says he's ready! And we will see if I can be ready to leave on Friday.

I had wanted to post another Christmas card but didn't get one made so I am showing you a card that I did with my stamp club this month. This one was inspired by a sketch from My Favorite Things. Here are the details:

Good Sunday morning everyone! I hope your weekend is going swell! It's been a lot of fun to stay in and watch movies with the family this weekend! Nick is feeling much better and should be able to finish out these last few days of the semester. This week shouldn't be quite as crazy - thank goodness! As I do have quite a bit of shopping to do! Pat and I finally decided on a gift for our son but we had to have it shipped to my parents because we weren't sure if it would get here in time. Yep! Last minute!! Oh well. He's older now and it works for us! Love my family!!

Today's card was inspired by a few cards I had seen with these angles. I thought it made for an interesting layout and wanted to give it a try. Well it is not as easy as it looks! I had to try three times before I could get it this way - lol! Here are the details:

Hexie Tree

Good morning, Friends! Are you all ready for a great weekend? I know I am! I didn't get to do my regular stitching evening with my friend, Becky because she wasn't feeling well so my family and I ordered a pizza and watched a movie! Nick was home from school yesterday because he was sick. Thankfully he was feeling better by evening. I am hoping that he is even better today. I really hate when he is sick these last few days of the semester! We will see how much homework he has on Monday - ugh! And I can't even begin to tell you how far behind in Christmas shopping I am! But I refuse to go on the weekends! I just hate to fight the crowds. So I will try on Monday morning. Maybe :) For now, it's a nice quiet weekend!

Today's card was inspired by others that I had seen on Pinterest. I thought it was genius to make a tree from the hexagon punch and wanted to try one for myself! I love it! Here are the details:

  • Card base is Cherry Cobbler
  • Layer of Old Olive
  • Use the scallop edge border punch to punch along the bottom of the Old Olive piece
  • Use the hexagon punch to punch 6 shapes from the Season of Style designer paper

  • Use dimensionals to adhere the shapes to the Old Olive piece to make a tree
  • The trunk was made using Chocolate Chip card stock and adhered flat
  • Wrap a piece of Cherry Cobbler baker's twine twice and tie a bow
  • Stamp greeting from More Merry Messages in Cherry Cobbler and adhere panel to card base

Gingham Garden Birthday

Good morning, Friends! I can't believe how fast time seems to be going at the moment! I really need it to slow down so I can catch up - lol! I did manage to get a few things done yesterday but not nearly what I had planned. And yesterday was my only "free" day. So I hope I can manage my time a little better these next few days. My son has basketball tryouts tonight and we are hoping he does well! Good luck Nick! I am looking forward to Becky's Christmas card class party tonight! Always a fun event!

Today's card was one that I did with my stamp club this month. I tried to keep away from doing Christmas cards and focus on more generic type cards. I thought a simple birthday card would work! Here are the details:

  • Card base is Whisper White with lower left hand corner punched with 1" circle punch
  • Layer of Whisper White
  • Adhere a piece of Gingham Garden designer paper onto Whisper White layer and use the 1" circle punch to punch the lower left hand corner
  • Stamp greeting from Four You in Island Indigo
  • Tie a piece of Daffodil Delight seam binding ribbon around panel and pop up onto card
  • Use the itty bitty shapes punch pack to punch a flower from Island Indigo and adhere to card
  • Add a Daffodil Delight candy dot to flower center
Super simple!! Thanks for stopping by and have a fabulous day!

FMS 115

Good morning, Friends! I hope your week is off to a great start! It's a very cold start around here!! At this rate it will take quite a while for all this snow to melt off! At least the sun is supposed to shine. It's a busy week for us around here but today and tonight I have some time to catch up - laundry, stamping and wrapping a few presents! Lots to get done in the next two weeks!

Today's card was inspired by the sketch at Freshly Made. It's their sketch from last week. Here are the details:

  • Card base is Baked Brown Sugar
  • Layer of Old Olive that was run through the Big Shot using the Stylish Stripes embossing folder and then strips of Season of Style washi tape are adhered to the panel between embossed lines (a little hard to see)
  • Adhere this panel to a piece of Cherry Cobbler and then adhere to card base
  • Make a tag from Whisper White by flagging the bottom and rounding the top with the 1 3/4" circle punch then punch a hole in the top

  • Thread some Cherry Cobbler seam binding ribbon through the hole and tie together using Cherry Cobbler baker's twine then adhere tag to card with dimensionals

Thankfully I have the cards ready. I just need to cut the kits and get packed. I'm looking forward to seeing a great group of ladies!

Today's card was inspired by one I had seen on Pinterest. I had to change just a few little things because of limited supplies but I just love how the stamping of the snowflakes was stamped. I think that's what caught my eye in the first place. Here are the details:

Thankfully I don't have to really do anything anywhere today so I will enjoy my nice warm house and hopefully get some stamping and stitching done!

Today's card really fits the way it looks outside! I had originally made this for the CCMC color challenge this week. We are supposed to use current product. Well, this set has sold out so it's not considered current anymore. I do love this set so I thought I would share this card anyway. Here are the details:

  • Card base is Whisper White
  • Use the Delicate Doilies sizzlit to cut a doily from Whisper White and adhere to a layer of Whisper White with dimensionals
  • Adhere layer to card with dimensionals
  • Punch a circle from Night of Navy with the 1 3/4" circle punch
  • Stamps large snowflake from Endless Wishes in VersaMark and emboss with gold emboss powder then stan two smaller snowflakes in Whisper White craft ink
  • Adhere punched circle to card
  • Stamp "merry" onto strip of Whisper White with VersaMark ink and emboss with gold emboss powder then stamp rest of greeting with Night of Navy ink
  • Flag end of strip and adhere to card
I did use the sketch from My Favorite Things to help me put this all together. Thanks for stopping by and have a fabulous day!

Good Friday morning everyone! Sketch Frenzy Friday has a new sketch for this week! This week's sketch was created by Tammy Fite. Take a look!

And my card...

I took some liberties with the sketch. I think that I must be the only one that doesn't have the new snowflakes set! And I don't have many Christmas/winter sets so I really had to think about this sketch. I could have done butterflies or flowers but since we just got 8" of snow here the other day I just couldn't pull those sets out right now. Soooo… I got a little creative… I hope you don't mind, Tammy! :) Here are the details:

  • Card base is Basic Black
  • Layer of Basic Black that was run through the Big Shot with the Stylish Stripes embossing folder then adhered to card with dimensionals
  • The oval is cut from Smoky Slate with the Ovals collection framelits
  • Stamp the tree from Evergreen in Smoky Slate (stamped off once) onto the oval
  • Stamp sentiment in black StazOn
  • Sponge edges of oval with Whisper White craft ink then adhere to card with dimensionals
  • Punch two hearts with the small heart punch from silver glimmer paper and adhere to card with glue dots
Be sure to visit the Sketch Frenzy Friday blog to see more incredible inspiration! I hope you will find time to play along with us! We sure do love to see what you do with our sketches! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

CCMC 280

Good morning, Friends! The holiday season is in full swing! I did manage to finish one of my sewing projects and the other two are well on their way to getting there as well. But I need to finish up a few projects that I started earlier this summer and our get-together is next week! Yikes! Thankfully they were started and just need the finishing touches put on. But I am trying to get back into the stamping routine, too! I missed it! So I hope to have more cards to show you all! Thanks for sticking with me! You are the best!!

Today is the Thursday challenge at Create with Connie and Mary! And they have a fantastic and festive color challenge! Take a look!

And my card!

This card is really very simple and very elegant! Love how regal the gold embossing looks on the Night of Navy! Here are the details:

  • Card base is Night of Navy
  • Stamp tree from Evergreen using VersaMark ink and emboss with gold emboss powder
  • Cut a panel of Night of Navy card stock and use the Ovals Collection framelits to cut an oval in the panel
  • Stamp greeting from More Merry Messages using VersaMark and emboss with gold emboss powder
  • Sponge the inside edge of the oval with Whisper White craft ink
  • Tie a piece of Whisper White taffeta ribbon around panel
  • Adhere panel to card base using dimensionals
These two stamp sets are carry over sets and I am SO glad because I really like them!! I hope you are inspired by my card but be sure to check out the rest of the cards from the fabulous design team at the Create with Connie and Mary website! I hope you will play along this week! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!
