More Herb Expressions

Good morning, Friends! It's Friday! And it's the last day of July! WOW! I took my son school supply shopping yesterday. I found myself laughing as I let my son pick out what he wanted for his folders, spiral notebooks, crayons, etc. Of course, when he is picking it all out, he has to have the "in" stuff! And I let him. But I am hearing moms around me who have 3 and 4 kids saying that they have to pick the "cheaper" items. Yeah, my kid is spoiled. What can I say. But he is our one and only so I don't have to share that money with someone else. And I figure with his dislike of school anyway, that this will give him something to look forward to. I hope... And then we needed new soccer cleats AND new tennis shoes. Yikes! I told my husband that we spent a lot of money! And I still need to get him some more clothes, yet. Sigh. I guess I can wait for new clothes and shoes?

For today's card I used the rosemary image from the Herb Expressions set. And I didn't want the name of the herb to show up so what I did here is take some scotch tape and taped over the part (the words) that I didn't want to stamp. Then I inked up my stamp, letting the tape get ink on it too. Now this is the most important part (and if you forget to do it you will remember after making the mistake), you must take off the tape BEFORE you stamp your image on the cardstock. You can ask me how I know this :). For this card I used the Black StazOn again and my blender pen and ink pads. I love the fall-ish look of this card. Again, very simple! I had read somewhere that when you don't stamp the name of the herb with the image it becomes just another "wild flower"! Great idea!! Thanks for stopping by!

Thyme and Thyme again...

Good morning, Friends! I hope that you all are having a fantastic week! It seems to be going by way too fast! I just can't believe that this is the last week of July! In a few short weeks school will start and I won't have much time to stamp at all!! That will be a very sad day for me. I guess I had better stamp like a crazy person until then! But today I really need to go grocery shopping and school supply shopping (for my son). I do hope it is not too crowded.

Today's card is one that I made with the new Herb Expressions set. I used the thyme image stamp and came up with this one. I do like how it turned out. I followed a sketch that I had lying around. The words did get stamped with this stamp but I covered them up with the greeting from the same set. Clever, huh! A very simple card! Enjoy!!

Thyme

Good morning! I am happy to say that I will be back to my regularly scheduled posts! I hope that you enjoyed the Royal Blog Tour. I know that I did! I got some great ideas and found some great new blogs to search. I had been gone over the weekend and got back on Monday. I feel like I am still trying to catch up on my sleep.

For today's card I used a sketch that I have used before. This sketch can be used in so many ways and it's so easy! For this card I stamped the image in black StazOn and then used a blender pen to color it in. I also left the words on this image.

I want to thank each one of you for all your nice comments. You all are so sweet! I hope that you will continue to stop by and take a look! Take care and have a super day!!

Royal Blog Tour

Welcome to the Royal Blog Tour! I am happy to show you some projects made using the brand new Herb Expressions set! I immediately fell in love with this set when I got my catalog. I love the simple line drawings and the sentiments that come in this set.

When you see this set in the catalog you will notice that the names of the herbs are attached to the stamp. Some people have cut them apart from the image and mounted them to the side of the wood block. Mine are all one piece still but I have "ways" so that I don't have to stamp the words with the image. For today's cards I used my markers. When you use your markers you are in control of what gets colored. For the top card, I used my Always Artichoke and Elegant Eggplant markers. For the bottom card I used my Old Olive and Elegant Eggplant markers.

For the top card I used an old sketch that I found somewhere. But for the bottom card I used a card from the catalog. Can you guess which one? I will tell you that the card uses the same colors but a different stamp set. And I believe that the card in the catalog is a different size.

Now, if you know me at all, then you know how much I LOVE to use dimensionals. Well, for this second card I didn't use any dimensionals! Gasp!! But I think that this card is one of my very favorites. I just love how it turned out.

Well, that's it for me. I will not be posting now until Wednesday. Then I will have some more samples for you with this set. So now I will send you on to the next stop in the tour. Enjoy your tour!

Razzleberry Lemonade

Happy Friday everyone! I am not at home at the moment but I am enjoying myself with my family in Kansas City! I do hope this posts when it is supposed to.

I also want you to know that I will not be posting again until after I get back. My post for the Royal Blog Tour will appear for Sunday. I am waiting until after the tour to post again so I don't interrupt the flow of the tour. So look for my post on Sunday as you go through the tour and then be sure to come back and visit after that as I will resume my regularly scheduled posts! You all are the best!

This card is one that I made after searching blogs for some inspiration. It is super simple and really shows off the designer paper. I am thinking that this layout would be great for Christmas cards. Hmmm. May have to work on that idea when I get back. I used a felt flower (Pink Passion) that I think works wonderfully with the Melon Mambo. Enjoy and thanks for stopping by!

Medallion Thanks

Good morning everyone! I need to make this one quick. Still got lots to do today to be ready to fly out of here this afternoon. Still have about two more loads of laundry. And then to stuff the rest of our things into the suitcase. We are really excited to get out of town for a little while!

Today's card is one that I came up with while experimenting with the new Medallion stamp. I do love this stamp! I am even using it for my 100 card card swap. I am happy to say that I have 25 done! This one didn't come out exactly as I had pictured but I like it anyway. The middle 'focal point' had to be moved over just a bit to make room for the greeting. Anyway, thanks for stopping by and have a great day! I will try to post while I am gone (or get posts ready to post) but we will see how much time I have. Don't forget that the Royal Blog Tour starts on Sunday! You won't want to miss out on this !!

Autumn Traditions

Good morning, Friends! Here we are in the middle of the week. It won't be long and the weekend will be here. I am excited because tomorrow evening we are leaving on a jet plane (no, I am not singing :) to go to my brother's. He lives in the Kansas City area. My parents will meet us there on Friday and we will be going to a Royals game. Then on Saturday he is hosting a barbecue at his house. I will be back on Monday so it will be a VERY short trip but I am glad that we will get to see my parents. I am hoping to get some cards ready to post for you all! And then don't forget that the Royal Blog Tour starts on Sunday!!

Today's card comes from an old sketch that I picked up somewhere. I used the new Autumn Traditions designer paper and made this super simple card. The hardest part was cutting out the little leaf from the Autumn Days stamp set. I don't know if you can see the greeting but it does say 'Happy Thanksgiving'. I guess it's time to start thinking fall and Christmas cards. Wow! It will be here before we know it! Have a great day!

Holiday Blitz

Good morning, Friends! Well, it promises to be another scorcher of a day! And I found out that the fire that we had close to home on Sunday did flare up again on Monday (after I made up my post). Yikes! I had thought that they had it under control but it looks like they had to close the highway again. Now on the news late last night (had to watch the Rockies game), they did say it was completely contained. I do hope they are right.

Today's card is not one of my favorites but I wanted to attempt a Christmas card. I guess it is time to start thinking about what I would like to do for my Christmas card. This one is super simple. I used the curly label punch and the movers and shapers die to layer. I also want to make sure that whatever I do for my Christmas card that I can mail it without extra postage. Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Bamboo For You

Good Monday morning! Wow! Another week! I just can't believe how quickly July is flying by! I was so thankful to sleep in a little this morning. We had a chance for thunderstorms yesterday. Usually that means that there will be clouds, high winds, and lots of lightning with no rain. Or if there is rain it is only enough to dirty up the car and make it really humid around here. But last night, on my way home from my friend's house, there was a HUGE fire close to where I turn off from the interstate. They are not for sure, but think that the fire could have been started from the lightning. It was close to the highway and it sounds like they had to close the highway at some point. Now this is not very close to my house at all but it is still scary. They got it under control and I think it did rain last night so that had to help.

Today's card is from a sketch. Since I made it a while ago I can't remember where the sketch came from. Sorry. Not too much to say about it. This Asian Artistry set is so easy to use! Love it! Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to mark your calendars for the Royal Blog Tour coming up on Sunday Have a great day!

Wheat

Good Sunday morning everyone! I hope that you all are having a great weekend! It has been super hot around here and quite a challenge to keep cool! But we have survived. I am excited to see a few of my friends this afternoon to do some stamping. I have signed up for a 100 card card swap! Wow!! Since I am not going to convention I thought this was the next best thing. This will give me lots of samples and ideas that I wouldn't get. So I need to get to work on that.

Today's card was a sketch from somewhere. I actually made this card a while ago so I can't remember where I saw it. For the scallop oval in the middle I used my friend's Marvy punch (you know, those ginormous punches). This made a "window" and I stamped my wheat within the frame. Everything is Crushed Curry except for the Very Vanilla piece. A little sponging and there you have it! Thanks for stopping by!

Thinking of You

Good morning everyone! It promises to be another VERY hot day here! It took me quite a while even after the sun went down to cool off. I am excited as I have a team gathering in a little while. I need to clean myself up and get all my things together and then head out the door. We are going to have make-n-takes and swaps and even a few games! Sherry is a game person (I love them too) and so I told her to put a few together for us. It will just be a fun and relaxing time!

Don't forget that the Royal Blog Tour is only a week away! I will be putting little reminders out there for all of you. I have my samples ready to go! I am so excited to share them with you! And I know that there will be some other really great samples at all the stops along the way.

Today's card was inspired from a sketch that I had found at one time. I made this card a while ago so I can't remember where I saw it. But I liked it and finally used it for this card. I just love the Trendy Trees set! Too easy to use! I do use my Stamp-a-ma-jig for this set but it is still really easy to use. Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day!

Medallion For You

Good morning everyone! It's Friday! Wow! This week really flew by! And it will be a busy day for me. I get to have coffee with some other teachers today and then I am going to Delta to a scrapbook store and then have dinner and stamp/scrapbook the evening away. Tomorrow I am meeting up with some other demonstrators in the area to swap, talk, snack and share other ideas. It looks to be a fun weekend! Yesterday we got to spend some time with my husband's brother and his family. Nick had fun throwing the football, baseball and kicking the soccer ball around with his cousin. They only get to see each other once a year so it was a treat for them.

Today's card is super simple. I have to say that I am in love with this Medallion. It is so easy to use. And so versatile! There isn't much to say about it. What you see is what you get! I did stamp the Sanded background stamp over the top in VersaMark but you can hardly see it so I don't know that I really needed to do that. Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Asian Flower

Good morning! I can't believe it's Thursday already! Where has the week gone? I guess that I have been busy but I have gotten nothing done around here!! The laundry pile is so high and I am quickly running out of clothes! Need to get on that as soon as I post! My husband's brother and his family are out visiting and so we are going to take some time this afternoon to go visit them at the ranch. The ranch is where his parents live on the mountain and it is fun to go up there. We take jeep rides or get out the ATV's and ride around their acreage (not sure how large it really is but it is huge). And we only see his brother once a year and this is it. Their youngest wants to get together with Nick and hang out as well. Alex is older than Nick but they sure do get along.

Today's card is one that I made up a while ago. This is the level 2 hostess set, Asian Artistry. I love this hostess set! It really is elegant. This card came together easily I did cut out the large flower and pop it up. Not much else to explain. Thanks for stopping by and have a great day! Try to stay somewhat cool. It's going to be HOT around here!

Birthday Star

Good morning, Friends! I am having a hard time waking up this morning! I was wide awake at 4:00 for some strange reason and so when I finally fell back asleep I didn't want to get up. I think that I could have slept till noon! But then I feel so groggy and lazy and then I really don't get anything done. I have big plans to get the laundry done and get some stamping done! I got a peek at the new Holiday mini coming out and all I can say is WOOOHOOO!! I can't wait for you all to see it! It is filled with so many amazing and wonderful goodies! I now have to decide how much money I will be able to spend. There is just too much that I want!

For today's card I used a sketch that I had in my sketch pad but I can't remember where it came from. I got to use my new Seeing Stars stamp set. This set is so very versatile! I think that it will get a lot of use! The two stars that are popped up on the tag are cut out by hand. I did punch them out but the punch left too much white space for me so I ended up cutting them out. Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Friendly Butterfly

Good morning everyone! I hope you are having a great start to a great week! Mine could have started out better but I am hoping that I can put that all behind me now. I want to update you on the two sweet dogs that came our way. My husband was able to locate the vet who then gave us the number to the owner. Turns out that they don't live too far from us. They have been having trouble keeping them in their fence (seems they dig their way out). Anyway, they thought it was pretty funny that they just stayed at our house. No fence or nothing. They did come and get them last night and we are back to "normal".

For today's card I chose to use a "Becky" card. This is a layout we did in card class last month. My kind of layout. Simple. I got the color combination from the color combinations website (link in my sidebar). I have always liked pink and brown together. Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Just For You

Good morning, Friends! It's Monday again! Wow! The summer seems to be flying by! I wish it would slow down just a bit. We seem to have adopted two stray dogs. They came Saturday evening and we befriended them to see if there was any information on their tags. Nothing came up to help locate their owners. So, I think that we are going to have to call animal control. They are the nicest dogs but we already have two dogs and don't need any more - thank you very much. Anyway, I am sad for them if they got abandoned because they are so sweet and obedient.

Today's card is from a layout I got while blurfing. I think that I liked the other one just a bit better but this one came out pretty good, too. I just love these Trendy Trees! They are so much fun to work with. It's all pretty simple and self explanatory. Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Wherever You Go...

Good Sunday morning! I hope that your weekend is going just wonderfully! It seems to be flying by! I intend to enjoy my day by going to my friend Becky's house to stamp! I haven't been doing as much stamping as I have wanted so I am looking forward to it. The Royal Blog Tour is coming up and I need to get my samples finished up for that. And there are still some new toys that I haven't been able to "break in" yet. I think this week should be back to normal (somewhat).

For today's card I used a layout that I received in a swap a few years back. Very simple! I used the hostess level 2 set Asian Artistry. I really love this set! It is so easy to use! I just stamp the image in black and then trace over the lines with markers to give it some color. A little sponging and the color spritzer and there you have it! Enjoy your day and thanks for stopping by!

Trendy Tree

Good morning, Friends! I have to make this quick so I can get my son up and get over to Emily's. We are going to try and sell some of our retired stamp sets. Need some extra money for all the other goodies we want!

For today's card I used a sketch that I found somewhere. Super simple and easy. You know how I like them!! I love this Trendy Trees set. I broke down and purchased it this year and it is too much fun! Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Medallion

Good morning, Friends! It's finally Friday! And it's time to look forward to a great weekend! Our boys lost last night in another tough game. But they played much better than the night before. Nobody likes to lose but I thought (along with everyone else) that they did really great. We just couldn't hit that ball! UGH! And they were smacking it all over the field! But we hung in there and it means that we took third. Not too bad! I don't even remember the score but it was called because of the ten run rule. So the baseball season is over for the year and now we will look forward to soccer. I do love sports!

Today's card is one that I quickly whipped up right after I got my new toys. This is made using the new Medallion stamp. I didn't think I would like this stamp or even know what to do with it but I have been having lots of fun experimenting with it. This stamp can make some really quick and easy elegant cards. Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!

Star Birthday

Good morning, Friends! The weekend is almost here! So keep hanging on! I hope that your week has gone the way you want. Now for an All Star update... You know how you can just "tell" that things are not going to go the way they should? Well, that happened last night to our baseball team. They lost 19 to 6. Yeah, it was not pretty. When the boys were together before the game warming up they just weren't the 'same'. And as parents, we all just knew it. We were missing grounders and throwing the ball every which way and that's not how we were playing before. So, maybe it was good for them to lose one so they could see that they need to keep their head in the game. We have one more loss before we are out. That means the worse we could do would be third. Tonight we play a team that has lost once already but have been steadily climbing their way out of the losers bracket. This will be another tough one! I know we can do it but it's up to the boys!

Today's card is based off a sketch I got from the UDI blog. This is an old sketch but I really liked it. And it gave me a chance to use my new stamps! I just fell in love with the Seeing Stars stamp set and jumped at a chance to use it. This card was a little more time consuming than I had really anticipated. I punched out stars with my large star punch and small star punch and then glued them to the upper half of my card to create a subtle 3-D effect. I think it turned out pretty cool! I got my color combination from the Happy Bday scrappin' kit. Well, that's it for me today. I hope that you are inspired and get a chance to create. Thanks for stopping by!

Wedding Card

Good early Wednesday morning my Friends! We got home from our game a little earlier last night but it does take a while to unwind. You would think that the 30 minute drive would help but it doesn't. So... We WON!!!! 12 to 2!! We won in the fifth on the 10 run rule! Man were we excited!! Still am! At the top of the fifth the coach brings Nick in to pitch. And I am thinking, WHAT ARE YOU THINKING?! Now mind you, in the regular season I wouldn't have batted an eye but this is the All Stars! So, clearly, the coach had more faith in my son that my husband or I. Ha!! He did GREAT! He just pitched like he knew how and they swung. They hit the ball and we fielded it very well! So it was three up and three down. No runs got in on him and he walked no one. Then we got up to bat and Nick was the third batter (no outs). The first two batters were on base (second and third). Nick hits the ball. First baseman misses (meanwhile our third base runner runs in and scores). So now Nick is on first and we have a third base runner. The coach tells Nick to steal second and he does to draw the throw to second so that our third base runner can steal home and that ended the game! It was soooo exciting I can't even tell you. Our boys played superb! Tonight's game is at 8:00. Another cool evening game. This team won their first and had a day off (yesterday). Sounds like they could be tough. But our boys are HOT! Can't wait for the game!

Now on to the card. This card was made using the Fall To Layout #49 on the Clean & Simple Stamping blog. I also got inspiration from the LNS challenge by making a wedding themed card. I didn't think that I had any wedding themed stamps but then I saw this stamp in the level 3 hostess set, Kind & Caring Thoughts. Perfect! Very simple but that's the way I like it! Thanks for stopping by and reading my ramblings. You guys are great! LOVE your comments! Have a great day!

Rich Razzleberry

Good morning Friends! I hope that you are having a great start to a great week! Well... the Fruita All-Stars team WON last night!!!! Yea!!! 17 to 6! They did so great! It was just awesome! We got the boys together at the beginning to take some pictures and then I took quite a few during the game. Although I had to put the camera down a lot to cheer and then I forgot to take some of the other boys so I will need to bring it again to make sure that I get pictures of everyone. Too much fun! Tonight we play again at 8:00. It was nice and cool and the boys didn't have to worry about the sun. However, tonight's team is pretty good so hopefully we will be able to hold our own just like last night. Nick was the first run scored in. It's a good thing he has really fast legs! That's what got him to steal all the way to home! Looking forward to tonight!

Today's card is an older 411 sketch. A pretty simple card. I am in love with the new Rich Razzleberry In Color! Not too much else to say about it. Thanks for stopping by and taking a look! Have a super day!

Asian Artistry

Good morning, Friends! Another Monday is here. I am thinking that the summer is flying by way too fast!! My stamping mojo has slowed down the last few days and I need it to pick up again. So, I am planning on spending a few hours crafting today in my room. I have searched blogs for some new sketches and I am anxious to try them out. PLUS!!!!! My new goodies should come today and I can use some of that!! I also have to get some samples ready for the Royal Blog Tour that is coming up! If you would like to ride the tour to get some really great ideas and samples then you should really subscribe to the tour. The link is in the ad at the top of my blog. I am really excited to be a part of this!
Well, the baseball tournament starts today! Actually, tonight for us. I am so nervous for them!! Their last practice yesterday was kind of 'flat'. But it was like 100 degrees out there! Still, they could play in that heat so they need to know what it is like. Anyway, I finally ironed on his Fruita Little League patch and I think that I did it right. Oh, my goodness!! Yeah, this thing HAS to be exactly 3" from the top of this seam if it is this kind of shirt or 1" from this seam if it is this kind of shirt. And then in the middle of the the sleeve. But our sleeve has three different colors on it so is it in the middle of the blue part or the whole sleeve. And you think does it really matter (because that is what I thought). And the answer is OH YES!!! There have been incidents reported that rulers have been brought out at games to measure!! So was I a little freaked out when ironing it on? Answer... YES!! Then I heard of a girl whose grandma ironed hers on and burnt her shirt (they are 100% polyester). They had to pay to overnight her a new shirt. So, it is ironed on and all is good so far. I did notice that part of one of his letters to his name is starting to peel off and I might have to take it in to have them iron it down again. I tried last night but I stopped before something could happen. More little league news tomorrow...
Today's card is from a sketch I got at Stamping 411. I am really loving their sketches! I used this sketch for my card. I really liked the way it turned out. This set is a new hostess level 2 set, Asian Artistry. This is a super easy card! I stamped the main image and then used markers to just trace the lines. Cut out the dragonfly and a little sponging and there you have it! Have a great Monday!

Butterfly Friend

Good Sunday morning everyone! I hope that you all had a very fun and safe Fourth! We had a "blast"! LOL!! The kiddos really enjoyed blowing up things. And they were fun to watch. The weather turned out beautifully (after a big wind blew through). Nice and cool by the time we were ready to shoot off the fireworks. And we had a great view of others shooting theirs off in town. One more baseball practice today and then the games start tomorrow!

Today's card was inspired by Ashley Newell. I found this card on her blog and used my own products to recreate it - with a few little changes. I added the swirls because I thought it needed a little something else. So, the swirls are not a Stampin' Up! stamp set. They actually come from Papertrey. I love that set! I do wish Stampin' Up! had a set like that. Anyway, it might be one that I purchase yet! Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Thank You!!

Good morning Friends! I just want to make sure that I say "Thank You" to everyone who leaves such nice comments on my blog. Those comments really encourage me! Thank You!! And "Thank You" to you all who come and visit me! I really do appreciate you!!

Well, as you may or may not know, I play on a softball team. I had my first game last night. Thankfully it was nice and cool. There was some light rain for most of the game and we got wet but that makes it fun! You all will be glad to hear that I did not get hurt! Well, seriously anyway. I was running to catch a ball that was hit to the outfield and came up too far and the ball hit my arm instead of the glove. But it didn't hit the bone. I am just going to have a nasty looking bruise on my arm. We did lose 10-4. But we were ahead going into the 4th inning! That part was exciting! All Stars starts on Monday!

In other news (yes, there is lots to tell today). My husband found a mouse in our bathroom last night. EEEEEWWWWWW!!!!! I HATE mice!!!! So we are setting up traps and poison and everything else we can think of. I do hope we catch that icky little critter!!

Now on to the card. I hope that you are all still with me. This card came from a sketch but I can't even remember where I got it. I don't usually do circles but I was at my friend Becky's house last week and she has all of those Marvy circle punches (the great big ginormous punches) and I thought I would use those. So the punches made it quite easy to make this card. I do like the way it turned out. Thanks for stopping by and reading my ramblings! Have a great and safe weekend!

Merry Christmas

Howdy everyone! Is your summer heating up! Things sure are around here!! I always feel so bad to see the boys having to practice in the heat. We finally got their schedule for the tournament last night and it looks like we will be playing at 8:00 on Monday! Yea!!! That means it will be cooler! And then if we win we will play the next night at the same time! That will be very nice as it has been really hot around here. So, I too, have a softball game tonight. This is my very first one of the season. I am a little nervous but I have to remind myself that I am on the "just for fun" league. Yeah right! We still want to win!!! LOL!! I will let you know how that goes.

So, are you ready for a little Christmas in July? I found this card and just fell in love with the simple design and layout. I wanted to recreate it using my own supplies and this is my version. I do like the way it turned out. I wouldn't mind having this as my Christmas card but I don't think it would mail very well with the big knot. Thanks for stopping by and have a great day! The weekend is almost here!!!

Razzleberry Mum

Good morning my blogging friends! I am up early to get ready because I am meeting some girls for breakfast. Then I have a meeting a school later on. Then, of course, it's more baseball practice this evening. Did I mention that yesterday was my husband's and mine 19th wedding anniversary? With everything else that is going on it is easy to forget. Then our son didn't feel good yesterday. He had a quite the allergy attack yesterday. So, we are thinking of dropping off Nick at practice tonight then steal an hour to have some dinner!

So did you notice that my blog looks like it's put back together? I spent a LOT of time on it yesterday and finally had to remove all the 'sidebar' elements and then go back and add them again. But it worked and I am happy!! Thanks to all of you who offered suggestions.

Today's card is one that I did for a recent swap that I was in. I got word that the swaps were being mailed out so I thought it safe to post it. There isn't too much to say about it because it is very quick and easy. This card was made from a new level 3 hostess set. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your day!
