Cherry Cottage

Good morning everyone! It seems that I need to change the batteries in a certain smoke alarm. Yesterday morning it started but then ended after about an hour or so. I thought maybe it was a bug that had gotten in there. But then this morning it started again so I will be changing the batteries. I have to keep reminding myself that I have teacher training today. It just doesn't seem possible!! Back to work I go!

Today's card was inspired by one I saw in the catalog. I wish I had made the panel just a wee bit skinnier.

  • Card base is Soft Sky
  • Round the top left hand corner of a piece of Whisper White using the Project Life corner rounder
  • Adhere a strip of Cherry on Top washi tape
  • Flag both ends of a strip of Cherry on Top designer paper and adhere to panel

Hello everyone! I can't believe that we are starting a new week again! We had a great weekend at Keystone watching Nick race! What a fun atmosphere and the weather was awesome! I even hiked a few places to see him come down the mountain. It was hard hiking as it was VERY steep but worth it to get a few great action shots! Sunday I decided that I didn't need to hike - lol! My legs are still feeling it! He finished 15th again which is just excellent! He loves it!

CCMC Saturday Blog Hop: Tunnel Card

Hello everyone! It's time again for a Saturday blog hop with the designers of Create with Connie and Mary! This week we are featuring Tunnel Cards! I am your stop right after the fabulous Debbie Henderson

It was my turn to come up with the special card to make this week and I chose the Tunnel Card! I had never made one before and it turned out to be really easy and a lot of fun! I just had trouble cutting into the beautiful Timeless Elegance designer paper! But here is what the front looks like...

    And the inside...

My finished card measures 5 1/2" x 4 1/4". Instead of writing out all the dimensions and steps I will let you look up the directions. I didn't really have measurements for the scoring and folding. The folds are in half and half again. I used the Timeless Love stamp set. The colors are Basic Black, Very Vanilla, Smoky Slate and Basic Grey. The flowers are colored with Pink Pirouette, Wisteria Wonder, Pear Pizzazz and So Saffron markers. I also used the Ovals framelits and the Everyday Chic designer washi tape. Basic Black stitched satin ribbon was used on the front as well as pearls inside and out! I hope you have a chance to try making one, too! But first check out what the fabulous Connie Babbert has created! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

    A Single Candle

Good morning everyone! I hope you had a fabulous weekend and a great Father's Day! It was really hot around here but we managed to go out for breakfast and then I shuttled Nick and Pat to the top of two bike runs so they could go downhill as it was much too hot to go uphill! Lol!! They had a lot of fun with that. And I got to sit in the air conditioned truck waiting for them! Then we came home and cooled off and had pizza for dinner! A very nice day! Now I need to figure out what I have to get done the next few days and get to work!

For today's card I chose to experiment with the Build a Birthday set. I am using it for a swap and was trying to get some ideas going.

    CCMC Saturday Blog Hop: Vellum

Hello everyone! It's time for another Saturday blog hop with the designers from Create with Connie and Mary! This week we are featuring projects using vellum! I am your stop after the talented Debbie Henderson!

There is SO much you can do with vellum! I love it! I recently came across an idea using vellum to make a shaker card! How clever is that!! I made a pocket using two pieces of vellum and they are held together with washi tape! I used some new products and colors to create this card!

    • Card base is Whisper White
    • Adhere a piece of Cherry on Top designer paper to the card base
    • Create the shaker/pocket from two pieces of vellum and use the Cherry on Top washi tape to adhere the pieces together
    • Before adhering the pocket closed, fill it with stars that are punched from Watermelon Wonder, Cucumber Crush, Crushed Curry and Bermuda Bay card stock using the star punch from the itty bitty accents punch pack (I also used the confetti stars border punch and punched stars from gold glimmer paper)
    • Stamp the greeting from the Build a Birthday stamp set using Tuxedo black Momento ink
    • Adhere the shaker/pocket to the card with dimensionals
    • Stamp the candle images onto Whisper White card stock using Bermuda Bay, Watermelon Wonder and Cucumber Crush inks and cut out
    • Stamp the flame image onto Whisper White using Crushed Curry ink and cut out then adhere to the back of each candle
    • Adhere candles to card with dimensionals
Now it's time to send you on to see what the fabulous Connie Babbert has created for you! Thanks so much for stopping by and have a great day!

    Gold Butterfly

Hello everyone! I hope your weekend is going great! Mine seems to be going really fast! The wind blew yesterday and now my allergies are really bad. Ugh! I wish it would rain!! Hopefully today will be a little more calm. All this dust just gives me a headache! I did get a lot done yesterday! I got all my cards done for stamp club which happens tomorrow night and a few others! Today is a day of stitching and then I really have to get the laundry finished up! And then it's another busy week at work!

Today's card was inspired by one I had pinned. I liked how the card used the washi tape. It seems that I get all this washi tape and then never use it so I decided to experiment here. Not sure it's my favorite but I like the sparkle!

    • Card base is Very Vanilla
    • On another piece of Very Vanilla card stock adhere the Watercolor Wonder washi tape in various lengths
    • Adhere the panel to the card base using dimensionals
    • Cut a butterfly from gold glimmer paper using the Butterfly thinlits and adhere to card with dimensionals
    • Stamp the greeting from And Many More onto a strip of Very Vanilla using Tuxedo black Momento ink and flag the end then adhere to butterfly body

    Wooden Leaves

Hello everyone! I hope you have been having a super week! We are off for some retail therapy! Woohoo! Sounds like my family back home is having a great time as well!

For today's card I wanted to do a fall card and I am trying to use more of my washi tape. I don't want the season to go by and have full rolls of washi tape - lol!

    • Card base is Whisper White
    • Adhere three pieces the Color Me Autumn washi tape to a piece of Whisper White and then adhere to card base using dimensionals
    • Stamp the background image from For All Things using Crushed Curry ink onto a piece of Whisper White
    • Stamp the greeting using Blackberry Bliss and then adhere the panel to the card with dimensionals
    • Adhere two of the wooden leaves together and then adhere to card (I used glue dots)
    • Tie a bow using a double strand of linen thread and adhere to the stems of the leaves
Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!
