SFF 042613

Good morning everyone! It's Friday!! Woohoo!! And I'm here with the latest challenge from the Sketch Frenzy Friday team! This week's sketch was created by Kim Innis!

Super cute sketch! And here is what I did with it!

Banners are so much fun!! And I decided to use a lot of retiring product on my card! I embossed a piece of Early Espresso with the Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder (retiring in May) and adhered it to a piece of Very Vanilla. I tied a piece of Calypso Coral ruffled ribbon (retiring in May) around this and stamped the sentiment from Tea Shoppe (retiring in May) in Early Espresso. Then I used the Tea for Two designer paper (retiring in May) to make my banners. The middle banner is cut and the other two were punched with the Pennants builder punch. I adhered these to the embossed panel and added mini brads to the corners. This panel is popped up onto a card base of Very Vanilla. I stamped the tea cup in Calypso Coral onto a piece of Very Vanilla and cut it out. This is popped up onto the card. Then I punched a flower from So Saffron using the itty bitty shapes punch pack, added it to the cup and put a pearl in the flower center.

Need more inspiration? Be sure to visit the Sketch Frenzy Friday blog to see what the other designers did with this sketch. And I hope that you will play along with us this week! We sure do love to see what you do with our sketches! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

CCMC 249

Good morning everyone! I'm here with another great Thursday challenge from the Create with Connie and Mary team! This week we have a sketch challenge!

Such a fun sketch with lots of fun layers! Here's what I did!

Time is counting down and the new catalog will debut more wonderful stamps and accessories! Every year Stampin' Up! comes out with a new stamp set that is made to raise money for the Ronald McDonald House Charities. This past year the stamp set has been the Moving Forward stamp set. I have loved this set even though I feel like I haven't used as much as I could have. Such cute images and images that can be used for a lot of different occasions! I look forward to this coming year's set! Anyway, back to the card... I ran a piece of Real Red card stock through the Big Shot using the Chevron embossing folder and then adhered it to a piece of Whisper White. On top of this I adhered a piece of Marina Mist and Daffodil Delight Polka Dot Parade designer paper. Around this I tied a piece of Real Red 1/8" taffeta ribbon and then adhered this to a Whisper White card base. Then I cut an oval from Whisper White using the Ovals framelits dies and used the Essentials paper piercing pack to pierce around the inside the edge of the oval. I inked up just the greeting from the stamp in black StazOn and stamped it on the oval. The oval is popped up onto the card. Then I stamped the blimp on Whisper White in Marina Mist and cut it out and popped it up onto the oval. I added a rhinestone to the propeller to finish it off.

Be sure to visit the Create with Connie and Mary website to get more inspiration and to see all the different ideas that the designers came up with using this fun sketch! Thanks so much for stopping by and have a super day!

Card Recipe: Stamps- Moving Forward; Paper- Whisper White, Real Red, Polka Dot Parade designer paper; Ink- Marina Mist, black StazOn; Accessories- Real Red 1/8" taffeta ribbon, Ovals framelits dies, Essentials paper piercing pack, Chevron embossing folder, rhinestone, dimensionals

Nacho 43

Good morning everyone! I hope your week is going great! This morning is starting of really cold! In fact we were under a freeze warning most of the night. It is supposed to warm up now and start acting like spring - lol! Yesterday's track meet was actually nice! The sun was out and it wasn't as cold as I thought it might be. The breeze got a little chilly but not bad. And Nick didn't do too bad either! I can't believe that next week is the District Finals! This track season went by really fast!! I was able to get a lot of sewing done yesterday! I am quilting a quilt and I am determined to get it done soon! It really looks pretty good for a first time! I am so excited to see it done!

Today's card was inspired by the sketch at Nacho Average Challenge. I was inspired because it was so unique! While the card looks clean and simple, it was quite a chore to cut all those little pieces! Three of the glasses are cut out and all of the glass insides were cut out as well. The stamp set used was Happy Hour. The card base is Whisper White and a strip of Twitterpated designer paper was flagged at the bottom and adhered to it. All the glasses were stamped in Basic Grey - three on scrap Whisper White and two on the card base. I stamped the glasses again in Old Olive, Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie, Melon Mambo and Rich Razzleberry and cut the insides out to adhere to the glasses. The three cut glasses are popped up and the sentiment is stamped in Basic Grey. I added some rhinestones for some bubbly sparkle :) Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Card Recipe: Stamps- Happy Hour; Paper- Whisper White, Twitterpated designer paper; Ink- Basic Grey, Old Olive, Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie, Melon Mambo, Rich Razzleberry; Accessories- rhinestones, dimensionals

CAS(E) This 24

Good morning, Friends! Can you believe that we are under another freeze warning for tomorrow morning? UGH!! I really thought we were past this!! It looks like the sun should be shining by the time Nick has his track meet today. And boy I hope so!! Last week it was rainy and cold. Guess I had better plan for both types of weather! You never know!!

Today's card was inspired by the sketch at CAS(E) This! A super clean and simple one and I immediately thought of this stamp set. The script image from By the Tide was stamped in Crumb Cake onto a piece of Crumb Cake card stock. Then I sponged the edges of the card stock with the Crumb Cake ink. Then I pierced some holes along the bottom and wrapped some linen thread around the panel before popping it up onto a card base of Crumb Cake. The shell image is stamped in Calypso Coral onto Very Vanilla and cut out. This is popped up onto the card. The sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes is stamped in black StazOn onto a strip of Crumb Cake and the end is flagged. The other end is tucked under the shell. Super clean and simple! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Cardabilities 73

Good morning, Friends! I hope your weekend was wonderful! Ours was!! The weather finally cooperated! Well, it was warmer than than earlier last week and the sun was out more than not! I did have to wear my heavy coat to the soccer game on Saturday but there were times when I could take it off because the wind calmed down and the sun was out! And the boys won their soccer game!! Tough game, too, so that made it all the more fun! Then yesterday I got to spend the day stitching! Still have a ways to go to get my projects done but at least I was able to spend some time working on them! I really need to get my sewing blog updated with the projects that I do have finished. Maybe this week? We will see!

Today's card was inspired by the sketch at Cardabilities. A fun easy sketch! A piece of Sunshine and Sprinkles designer paper was adhered to a card base of Whisper White. Then I adhered two strips of Daffodil Delight that were punched with the dotted ribbon scallop punch to the back of a strip of Pacific Point that was flagged at the bottom and run through the Big Shot with the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder. I adhered this strip to the card. Then I used the Ovals framelits dies to cut an oval from Whisper White. It is pierced with the Occasions paper piercing pack and the sentiment from Rain or Shine is stamped in Basic Grey as is the umbrella handle. The oval is popped up onto the card. I stamped the umbrella top in Old Olive and cut it out. This is popped up onto the card. I punched a flower from Daffodil Delight using the itty bitty shapes punch pack and added it to the umbrella. Finally a rhinestone is added to the flower center. Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Card Recipe: Stamps- Rain or Shine; Paper- Whisper White, Pacific Point, Daffodil Delight, Sunshine and Sprinkles designer paper; Ink- Basic Grey, Old Olive; Accessories- Ovals framelits dies, itty bitty shapes punch pack, dotted ribbon scallop punch, Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder, rhinestone, dimensionals

CCMC Card "Create"tions Week 3 Favor

Good morning, Friends! It's the third and final week of the Create with Connie and Mary Card "Create"tions for all Occasions. Wow! That went by quickly! Have you seen all the beautiful and wonderful card creations? The only way you get to see them is to be a subscriber of this special edition. Think it's too late? Nope! You can subscribe today and still enjoy ALL of the creations along with the downloadable instructions! I had such a great time creating these special projects and I know the other designers did as well!

Today is day that the designers reveal a favor that was made with their assigned stamp set. So as you can see, I used the Summer Silhouettes stamp set this past week. I love this set! For today's favor I made a luminary. I cut the Midnight Muse card stock at 10 3/8" x 5 1/2" and then scored at 2 1/2", 5", 7 1/2" and 10". Then I turned it and scored at 1 1/2". I folded all the scored lines and cut the short scored lines. The vellum panels are cut at 3 7/8" x 2 3/8". I used the Ovals framelits dies to cut the panels. The vellum panels are stamped with the leaf image in Gumball Green and then adhered to the inside of the luminary. I used the scallop trim punch to punch the top and then I used sticky strip to adhered the bottom and side together. I stamped the flower image onto Very Vanilla in Summer Starfruit and the flower center in Midnight Muse. I cut these out and adhered them with a dimensional to the luminary. Each flower center also received a rhinestone to finish it all off!

Be sure to visit the Create with Connie and Mary website to see what the other designers made for their favor this week and to see what stamp set they used! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

SFF 041913

Good morning, Friends! It's finally Friday and we don't have to go anywhere this weekend!! Woohoo!! Nick has a home game this weekend so we will finally have some nice time at home! Yes!! The Sketch Frenzy Friday team has a new challenge for you all! This week's sketch was created by Tammy Fite! Take a look at her fun sketch!!

This is a great sketch to let all those beautiful designer papers take center stage! Here is what I came up with!

I realized later that I should have used several different pieces from the Sunshine and Sprinkles designer paper pack so that you could really tell the different quadrants. In fact you can barely tell where I cut the paper and divided it! Ugh! May have to try this sketch again later this week. I cut a piece of the Sunshine and Sprinkles designer and then cut the pieces apart (hard to tell as the ribbon covers the horizontal line and it's hard to see the vertical cut). The pieces are adhered to a piece of Basic Grey. I tied a piece of Melon Mambo 3/8" striped organdy ribbon around this and popped the panel up onto a card base of Daffodil Delight. I stamped the sentiment and the umbrella handle from Rain or Shine in Basic Grey onto a piece of Whisper White. The top left hand corner is rounded with the corner rounder and then popped up onto the card. I stamped the umbrella top in Melon Mambo onto Whisper White and cut it out. This is popped up onto the card. I punched a flower from Daffodil Delight with the itty bitty shapes punch pack and adhered it to the umbrella. A rhinestone is added to the flower center.

Don't forget to check out what the other designers created with this sketch! You can see all their work on the Sketch Frenzy Friday blog! I hope that you will be inspired to play along with us this week! We sure do love to see what you create with our sketches! Thanks for stopping by and have a fabulous day!!

CCMC 248

Good morning, Friends! It's time for the Thursday challenge from the Create with Connie and Mary team! This week we have a color challenge for you! Take a look at these fabulous colors!

Midnight Muse, Gumball Green and Summer Starfruit are the colors that we are assigned to work with. All part of the wonderful In Color family! Here is how I used them!

Another simple card for me! I took a piece of the Print Poetry designer paper and stamped the butterfly image from Summer Solstice in white StazOn. This is adhered to a card base of Crumb Cake. Then I stamped the flower in black StazOn onto Summer Starfruit and used the Summer Starfruit and a blender pen to give it more dimension. I stamped the leaf image twice in black StazOn onto Gumball Green and used a Gumball Green marker and blender pen to give them some dimension. The leaves are adhered to the back of the flower I popped this up onto the card. I used a marker to ink up the first part of the sentiment onto a strip of Crumb Cake and flagged the end. This is adhered to the card. Then I threaded some linen thread through a vintage faceted button and adhered it to the flower center.

Be sure to visit the Create with Connie and Mary website to see what the other designers did with these colors! So many variations!! I hope that you are inspired to play along with us this week! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

FMS 81

Good morning, Friends! Wellll... It snowed last night! About four inches!! Ugh! Yes, we need the moisture and that's what I have to keep telling myself. But it is so cold and it is supposed to be colder tonight. I didn't want to get out from under the blankets. Nick's track meet went great yesterday even though it was cold and wet! Thankfully, it didn't downpour or anything like that. And Nick did great! He had some great competition this time and rose to the occasion! And it is just fun to watch all these kids! As for today, I do hope to accomplish some stamping and then have some leisure time for sewing. I haven't done that in a while and am anxious to get something done!!

Today's card was inspired by last week's sketch at Freshly Made. I made this card for a swap I was in for this month. I stamped the sentiment from Thoughts and Prayers in black StazOn on a piece of Very Vanilla and added two silver brads. This panel is adhered to a card base of Very Vanilla. Then I took a piece of Naturals Composition specialty designer paper and adhered it to a piece of Basic Black that was punched along the bottom with the scallop trim punch. I tied a piece of Very Vanilla seam binding around this and popped the panel up onto the card. I punched a circle from Very Vanilla with the 2 1/2" circle punch and stamped the tree image in black StazOn. I sponged the edges in Crumb Cake and popped the circle up onto the card. I used the Beautiful Wings embosslit to cut some butterflies from Calypso Coral. I used the smallest butterfly and adhered it to the card and added a tiny pearl. Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Card Recipe: Stamps- Thoughts and Prayers; Paper- Very Vanilla, Basic Black, Calypso Coral, Naturals Composition specialty designer paper; Ink- black StazOn, Crumb Cake; Accessories- Very Vanilla seam binding ribbon, scallop trim border punch, 2 1/2" circle punch, silver brads, pearl, sponge, dimensionals

Secret Garden

Good morning, Friends! I hope your week is off to a great start! The weather sure has been crazy!! At the soccer game Sunday I was really glad to have brought my heavy coat as it was really cold and really windy! The drive home was a little scary when we ran into snow packed roads. Then yesterday it rained all day around here and the temperatures dropped. Thankfully we weren't traveling as the highway was closed due to snow. And today it's more of the same! And wouldn't you know it? Nick has a track meet today! Guess I had better get the heavy winter coat out and I need to go buy a new umbrella. Geesh! But we need the moisture! I did some stamping yesterday but I am wondering when I will be able to take pictures as it is just gray outside! Doesn't make for good lighting.

Today's card was one I came up with while I was getting ready for my club earlier this month. I was experimenting and came up with this. If you check my blog often you know that I came up with a different card for club using these same colors. Love these colors and I am so excited that Wisteria will be a part of the regular color family!! A piece of Very Vanilla was cut with the Apothecary Accents framelits dies and then stamped with the flower image from Secret Garden in Wisteria Wonder, the leaf image in Lucky Limeade, and the sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes in Elegant Eggplant. I adhered this to a piece of Wisteria Wonder that was run through the Big Shot using the Fancy Fan embossing folder. Then I tied a piece of Wisteria Wonder ruffled ribbon around this and adhered it to a piece of Pink Pirouette. I popped this panel up onto a card base of Wisteria Wonder. Then I stamped the solid flower in Pink Pirouette onto Very Vanilla and cut it out with my paper snips. I cut a stem from Lucky Limeade designer paper using the Secret Garden framelits dies. I adhered this to the flower and popped them up onto the card. Then I added a rhinestone to the flower center. Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Card Recipe: Stamps- Secret Garden, Teeny Tiny Wishes; Paper- Wisteria Wonder, Pink Pirouette, Very Vanilla, In Color designer paper; Ink- Elegant Eggplant, Lucky Limeade, Pink Pirouette, Wisteria Wonder; Accessories- Wisteria Wonder ruffled ribbon, Apothecary Accents framelits dies, Fancy Fan embossing folder, Secret Garden framelits dies, rhinestone, dimensionals

A Delightful Umbrella

Good morning, Friends! We made it home safely yesterday! The roads weren't the greatest in some areas and it was slow going for a while but we did make it home! Now it's another week! Nothing special going on today so I hope to get a little stamping done and a lot of sewing done! But we will see what actually happens - lol!

Today's card was the fourth of the cards that we did at stamp club this month. I took a piece of Pacific Point and embossed it with the Cloudy Day embossing folder. I adhered a piece of Sunshine and Sprinkles designer paper to this and then adhered the panel to a piece of Whisper White. I tied a piece of Melon Mambo 3/8" striped organdy ribbon around this and popped it up onto a card base of Pacific Point. Then I tok a piece of Whisper White and stamped the sentiment and the umbrella handle in Basic Grey. This is popped up onto the card. On a piece of Whisper White I stamped the umbrella top in Daffodil Delight and carefully cut it out. This is popped up onto the card. The final touch is a flower punched from Melon Mambo using the itty bitty shapes punch pack and a rhinestone for the center. Thanks for stopping by and have a fabulous day!

Card Recipe: Stamps- Rain or Shine; Paper- Whisper White, Pacific Point, Melon Mambo, Sunshine and Sprinkles designer paper; Ink- Daffodil Delight, Basic Grey; Accessories- Melon Mambo 3/8" striped organdy ribbon, Cloudy Day embossing folder, itty bitty shapes punch pack, rhinestone, dimensionals

Tea for You

Good morning, Friends! I hope your weekend is going great! We are in Denver for another soccer game. Nick's game is pretty early this morning and then we will be back on the road home again. Here's hoping the boys have a super game!!

Today's card was a third one that the ladies did at stamp club this month. This is a super easy one and I really like the way it all came together! I stamped the tea cup from Tea Shoppe in Calypso Coral onto a piece of Very Vanilla. Then I adhered it to a strip of Early Espresso that was punched with the scallop edge border punch. I tied a piece of Calypso Coral ruffled ribbon around this panel and popped it up onto a card base of Very Vanilla. Then I stamped the sentiment in Early Espresso onto Very Vanilla and punched it out with the large oval punch. Over the sentiment I stamped the flower image in So Saffron and sponged the edges with So Saffron. This is adhered to a strip of Tea for Two designer paper that was flagged on both ends. Then I popped it up onto the card. Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Card "Create"tions Week 2 Favor

Good morning, Friends! It's Saturday and time to show you my favor for the Create with Connie and Mary Card "Create"tions for all Occasions! This past week I used the Rain or Shine stamp set. I had a great time designing a card set using this set! But the only way to see the cards is to be a subscriber to this special edition. You will also get complete instructions and measurements for each card! And it's not too late to join! Join now and you will still enjoy all of the previous week's cards from all of the fabulous designers!

My favor was inspire by searching the internet for ideas on baby showers. I haven't been to one in quite a while and wondered what people were doing these days. Seems like little favors are given out at wedding and baby showers. I used the sentiment that came with the set but it would be very cute and appropriate to include the name and birth date of the new little one or if doing a wedding, of the special day. I had some of these window tins in my cupboard and decided it would be fun to make a little insert for candy and a sort of belly band. I say "sort of" because it doesn't go all the way around the tin like a typical belly band.

Here is a look at the inside and you can see that I adhered the strip of paper to the inside of the lid. You can also see that I made my insert from vellum card stock and then embossed the top part with the Cloudy Day embossing folder. My candy tin is filled with white beans (didn't have any candy around and I really don't need any - lol). I did use sticky strip to adhere the paper to the tin. The umbrella top was stamped in Daffodil Delight and the handle in Basic Grey. These were carefully cut out and adhered together and then popped up onto the strip. I stamped the sentiment in Basic Grey onto Whisper White and punched it out with the Modern Label punch. I used Pacific Point card stock and a strip of Sunshine and Sprinkles designer paper.

Be sure to visit the Create with Connie and Mary website to get more ideas for favors to make! You will also see which stamp sets were used this past week for our special edition! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

SFF 041213

Good morning, Friends! It's finally Friday and time for the Sketch Frenzy Friday challenge! This week's sketch was created by Sharon Wheet. Check it out!

So I flipped the layout and here's what I created!

A simple sketch and a lot of fun elements! I adhered a strip of Print Poetry designer paper with the end flagged onto a card base of Very Vanilla (I was able to use a scrap). I made my tag by cutting a piece of Crumb Cake and rounding the top with the 1 3/4" circle punch. I flagged the bottom and then stamped the stem from Fabulous Florets in Gumball Green. The tag is popped up onto the card. I stamped the flower image in Primrose Petals onto Very Vanilla and cut it out. This is popped up onto the tag. Then I stamped the sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes in Gumball Green onto a strip of Very Vanilla. I flagged one end and adhered it to the tag. Finally I threaded some linen thread through a vintage faceted button and adhered it to the top of the tag.

Be sure to visit the Sketch Frenzy Friday blog to get more inspiration from the other designers! I hope you will find some time to play along with us this week! We always love to see what you do with our sketches! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

CCMC 247

Good morning, Friends! It's time again for the Thursday challenge at Create with Connie and Mary! This week we have a sketch challenge!

Love this one!! I think I love them all - lol! So clean. So simple. What's not to love? Check out my card!

I kept mine pretty clean as well. I have had this embossing folder for quite a while but haven't used it much. It's one of those products that I buy and then can't quite figure out how to use it. Well, it called out to me when I saw this sketch! So simple!! I embossed a piece of Naturals Ivory card stock with the Flower Garden embossing folder. To the back of this I adhered a strip of Tea for Two designer paper that was punched with the scallop edge border punch. I popped this up onto a card base of Naturals Ivory. Then I took a strip of Natural Ivory and stamped the sentiment in Early Espresso and flagged the end. I used the itty bitty shapes punch pack to punch a flower from Island Indigo. I snipped each petal and adhered it to a butterfly that was punched with the Elegant Butterfly punch from Calypso Coral. I added a mini brad and adhered it to the card.

Be sure to visit the Create with Connie and Mary website to see what the other designers did with this sketch. I hope you are inspired to play along with us this week! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Framed Secret Garden

Good morning, Friends! I really did not want to get out of bed this morning! It felt so good being under the warm blankets! Yesterday morning didn't get as cold as they originally thought but it did get colder as the day went on and now we are really cold!! I am really ready for it to warm up! I think the sun will be out today and that should help.

Today's card was the second of our stamp club meeting this month. I do love these colors together! I am so glad that Wisteria Wonder will be a part of the main colors! I took a piece of Wisteria Wonder and ran it through the Big Shot with the Tulip Frame embossing folder and then cut it out. I adhered this to a card base of Wisteria Wonder. I stamped the sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes onto a piece of Whisper White and adhered it to a piece of Pink Pirouette. Then I tied a piece of Pink Pirouette taffeta ribbon around the panel before popping it up onto the card. I cut two leaves from Lucky Limeade designer paper using the Secret Garden framelits dies. These are adhered to the back of a flower from the Secret Garden stamp set that was stamped in Wisteria Wonder onto Whisper White and then cut using the framelits dies. I used a Wisteria Wonder marker to color parts of the flower and then popped it up onto the card. I stamped the flower again on Whisper White using Wisteria Wonder and cut out just the middle part using my paper snips. I added an In Color brad to the center and popped that up onto the card, too. Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Melon Mambo Friends

Good morning, Friends! I hope your week is off to a fabulous start! I cannot believe how the weather has turned! We were having the most gorgeous weather with sun and temps in the 70's! But yesterday we got rain (which I'm not complaining about) and the temps dropped down into the 20's!! We had all kinds of freeze warnings! And we even had blizzard warnings! Yikes! Thankfully it didn't snow around here! My poor flowers! They don't know what to do - lol! I am so happy for the moisture, though. And I am so happy that Nick's track meet isn't today - lol! It would be really cold out there today! He has until Thursday for the weather to warm up. And it is supposed to.

Today's card was one of four that we did at stamp club last night! What a most wonderful and FUN bunch of ladies! Love them all!! I love how this card is so bright and fun and yet has a muted card base. I adhered a strip of Sunshine and Sprinkles designer paper (with the bottom flagged) to a piece of Crumb Cake card stock that was run through the Big Shot with the Woodgrain embossing folder. Then I added a strip of Whisper White with the end flagged that was stamped with the sentiment from Sweet Essentials in Melon Mambo. The panel is then popped up onto a card base of Crumb Cake. On a piece of Whisper White I stamped the flower from Mixed Bunch in Melon Mambo and punched it out with the Blossom punch. I also stamped the flower center onto Whisper White in Early Espresso and punched it out with the 3/4" circle punch. I added a silver brad and adhered it to the flower. To the back of the flower I added two leaves that were punched with the Blossom Petals builder punch from Old Olive. I folded these in half before adhering to the back of the flower. Then the flower is popped up onto the card. Super simple!! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

So today the designers have a special sketch to share with you all today. Mary has worked up another great little preview of what the Card "Create"tions for all Occasions is all about! You will also find this at the Create with Connie and Mary website but if you go to Mary's blog, you will also have a chance to win some blog candy!! We know how much you love blog candy!! So be sure to visit her website to find out how to win!

So how did I use Mary's sketch? Well, check this out!

A friend let me borrow her Secret Garden set and coordinating framelits dies. So I have been having some fun using this set as much as possible before I return it to her! Now this is not one of my sets for the special edition (so I really hope you subscribe so you can see those). I kept my card really simple just like the sketch! I adhered a strip of Wisteria Wonder designer paper with the end flagged to a card base of Whisper White. Then I adhered a strip of Elegant Eggplant with the end flagged to the card. Right above these I stamped the sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes in Elegant Eggplant. Then I used an oval framelit die to cut an oval from Whisper White. I stamped two flowers from the Secret Garden set in Wisteria Wonder and then popped the oval up onto the card. Then I cut two leaves from Lucky Limeade designer paper using the Secret Garden framelits dies. I adhered these to the oval. I stamped the solid flower in Pink Pirouette onto a scrap of Whisper White and cut it out. This is popped up onto the card. Then I threaded some white baker's twine through a Regals designer button and adhered it to the flower center. Finally I added some rhinestones to the oval.

Be sure to visit the Create with Connie and Mary website to find out how to subscribe to the Cards "Create"tions for all Occasions edition! You will also find Mary's special downloadable project sheet and don't forget about her blog candy! Have a super day!!

    A Secret Garden for You

Good Sunday morning, Friends! It's been a sort of whirlwind of a weekend around here. We picked up Nick early from school on Friday and he got his hair cut then it was off to Denver for a soccer game yesterday. Then we came home right after that and now he has another soccer game this afternoon! Whew! Our schedule looks crazy like this for the next few weeks. But it is nice to get out of town even if it is for just one night. The boys won yesterday so here's hoping they win again! And then I need to spend the rest of the afternoon getting ready for my stamp club tomorrow! Woohoo!

Today's card was inspired by one I saw on Pintrest. I changed it up quite a bit but that's where the inspiration came from. I took a piece Crumb Cake and rounded the top corners and then used the white StazOn pad to ink the edges of the card stock. This is then adhered to a strip of Print Poetry designer paper that was punched with the scallop edge border punch. I stamped the sentiment from Made for You in black StazOn. Then I tied a piece of Raspberry Ripple stitched satin ribbon around this and adhered it to a card base of Baja Breeze. On the bottom right hand corner of the card base I stamped a flower from Secret Garden in Baja Breeze. Then On a scrap piece of Crumb Cake I stamped another flower in VersaMark and embossed it with white emboss powder. I used Raspberry Ripple ink and a blender pen to color it and then I carefully cut it out with paper snips. I cut two stems from Old Olive using the Secret Garden framelits dies. I added these to the back of the flower and ten popped it up onto the card. The final touch was to added a rhinestone! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

    Card "Create"tions Week 1 Favor

Good morning, Friends! I can't believe that we have come to the end of week 1 over at Create with Connie and Mary Card "Create"tions for All Occasions! So many amazing cards were shown this week! I hope that you are a subscriber so that you can see them, too! Remember that your subscription includes full color photos with instructions and measurements! And it's not too late to sign up! You will still get all of the first week's creations!
On Saturdays during this special edition, the designers will be showing you all a little "favor" that uses our assigned stamp set of the week. My stamp set was Oh, Hello. Love this set! And my favor is a decoration for a door or wall. I thought the sentiment "Oh, Hello" was perfect for that!

This is pretty simple to make. I cut 6" x 6" pieces of designer paper from the Tea for Two dsp pack. These were then cut in half to measure 3" x 6". Then I pinched one short end together and adhered it. I did this to all the pieces and then adhered the "half cones" together using glue dots, staples and tape. I threaded some Calypso Coral ruffled ribbon through the back to hand. Then I made the center part of the wreath/hanger.

I used the Oval framelits dies to cut ovals from Island Indigo and Calypso Coral card stock. The Calypso Coral oval was run through the Big Shot using the Square Lattice embossing folder and is adhered to the Island Indigo one that was pierced with the Occasions paper piercing pack. This is adhered to the hanger using dimensionals. Then I stamped the oval image from Oh, Hello in So Saffron onto Very Vanilla and cut it out using the Ovals framelits dies. The sentiment is stamped in Early Espresso and the oval is popped up onto the others. Then I stamped the flower image twice onto Very Vanilla using Island Indigo and Lucky Limeade markers. I cut these out and adhered one and popped the other up. I threaded some linen thread through a button and adhered it to the flowers.

Be sure to check out what the other designers did for their favors and to find out what stamp sets they used this past week at the Create with Connie and Mary website! Thanks for stopping by and have a fabulous day!

    SFF 040513

Good Friday morning! Today the Sketch Frenzy Friday team has another wonderful sketch to play along with! This week's sketch was created by Robbie Rubula. Take a look!

A very simple sketch that can be "dressed" up a lot or can be left clean and simple. Hmmm... what to do? Well, take a look at what I came up with!

I kept it pretty simple but also dressed it up. I kept it simple by using designer paper and then dressed it up with a few embellishments. I love the Tea for Two designer paper! I used the newsprint piece and included the teapot with the flower image. Love that!! This is adhered to a piece of Early Espresso and then I tied a piece of Calypso Coral ruffled ribbon around this. The panel is then popped up onto the card base of Very Vanilla. Then I stamped the sentiment from Tea Shoppe in Island Indigo and punched it out with the Decorative Label punch. I cut a piece of Island Indigo just a bit bigger than the punched piece and rounded the corners. I used the Essentials paper piercing pack to punch the label shape into the Island Indigo piece. The stamped label is adhered to the punched piece and then popped up onto the card. I stamped a tea cup in Calypso Coral onto Very Vanilla and cut it out. This is popped up onto the card. A flower is punched out of Island Indigo using the itty bitty shapes punch pack and added to the tea cup with a pearl for the flower center.

Be sure to check out the Sketch Frenzy Friday blog to see what the other designers did with this sketch! I hope you will be inspired to play along with us this week! We always love to see what you do with our sketches! Thanks for stopping by and have a fabulous day!

    CCMC 246

Good morning, Friends! It's Thursday and time for the Create with Connie and Mary Thursday challenge! This week we are being challenged with color. Take a look at these fabulous colors!

Real Red, Calypso Coral, and Island Indigo are the colors to use this week! I never thought I would put Real Red with Calypso Coral but I like the way it really goes together! Check it out!

This is a very simple card but I thought it worked well for these challenge colors. I used the layout from Mama Elephant - a very simple layout and I love it! I layered a piece of Real Red onto a card base of Calypso Coral. Then on another piece of Calypso Coral I stamped the doilies from Delicate Doilies in Calypso Coral (I stamped off once before stamping onto the card stock). Then I ran a strip of Island Indigo through the Big Shot using the Argyle embossing folder. This is adhered to the side of the stamped panel. Then I stamped the greeting from Perfectly Penned in Real Red. I added three silver brads and popped the panel up onto the card. Then I punched a flower from Real Red using the itty bitty shapes punch pack. This is adhered to the card and a rhinestone was added to the flower center.

Be sure to visit the Create with Connie and Mary website to see what the other fabulous designers did with these beautiful colors. I hope you are inspired to play along with us this week! We always love to see what you do with our challenges!!

    Rainy Thoughts

Good morning, Friends! It's looking like it will be a fabulous day around these parts! Sunshine and warm temperatures! The flowers are starting to peek through the soil and the grass is greening up! Love it! Hopefully the wind won't blow today.

Today's card was inspired by one I saw on Pinterest. I needed a quick card for today and this fit the bill! I think the one I saw was done by Mary Fish. Super easy! I flagged the end of a strip of Sunshine and Sprinkles designer paper and adhered it to a strip of Pacific Point that had been flagged and then then adhered them to a card base of Whisper White. Then I punched a circle out of Old Olive with the 2 1/2" circle punch. I trimmed it up and popped it up onto a smaller piece of Whisper White. On the white I stamped the umbrella handle from Rain or Shine in Basic Grey, cut it out and then adhered this panel to the card. On a scrap of Whisper White I stamped the umbrella top in Pacific Point and popped it up. On a strip of Whisper White I stamped the sentiment in Pacific Point and flagged the end. This is adhered to the Olive piece. I punched a flower from Daffodil Delight using the itty bitty shapes punch pack and adhered it to the umbrella. I threaded some white baker's twine through a Daffodil Delight button and tied a bow. This is adhered to the card. Finally I added a rhinestone to the flower center. Thanks for stopping by and have a fabulous day!

    Freshly Made 79

Good morning, Friends! Wow! It's April already! And the weather seems to be finally cooperating! It should be getting nice and warm this week! I do hope that there will be some great spring storms but the outlook for the month does not look good for that. Bummer. Nick's schedule will get really busy now but that will just make the rest of the school year go by that much faster! Pat starts back to work full time and I will need to keep everyone's schedule in order so that we get to where we are supposed to be - lol!! Now to make sure that I am not fooled by a certain 13 year old today...

Today's card was inspired by the sketch challenge at Freshly Made. I haven't pulled this stamp set out in quite a while. I adhered a strip of Wisteria Wonder designer paper with the end flagged to a piece of Naturals Ivory. A strip of Lucky Limeade was punched with the dotted ribbon scallop punch and adhered over that. Then I tied a piece of Wisteria Wonder ruffled ribbon around this and popped the panel up onto a card base of Naturals Ivory. Then I stamped the image from Apothecary Art in black StazOn onto a piece of Naturals Ivory. I used the stamp-a-ma-jig to help me place the sentiment and stamped that in black StazOn. Then I fussy cut the image out. The image is then colored with a blender pen using Lucky Limeade and Wisteria Wonder inks. I layered this onto a piece of Basic Black that was cut using the Labels framelits dies and then popped this up onto the card. I added pearls to the flower centers.
