Hello everyone! It's time for another Saturday blog hop with the designers from Create with Connie and Mary! This week we are featuring projects using vellum! I am your stop after the talented Debbie Henderson!

There is SO much you can do with vellum! I love it! I recently came across an idea using vellum to make a shaker card! How clever is that!! I made a pocket using two pieces of vellum and they are held together with washi tape! I used some new products and colors to create this card!

  • Card base is Whisper White
  • Adhere a piece of Cherry on Top designer paper to the card base
  • Create the shaker/pocket from two pieces of vellum and use the Cherry on Top washi tape to adhere the pieces together
  • Before adhering the pocket closed, fill it with stars that are punched from Watermelon Wonder, Cucumber Crush, Crushed Curry and Bermuda Bay card stock using the star punch from the itty bitty accents punch pack (I also used the confetti stars border punch and punched stars from gold glimmer paper)
  • Stamp the greeting from the Build a Birthday stamp set using Tuxedo black Momento ink
  • Adhere the shaker/pocket to the card with dimensionals
  • Stamp the candle images onto Whisper White card stock using Bermuda Bay, Watermelon Wonder and Cucumber Crush inks and cut out
  • Stamp the flame image onto Whisper White using Crushed Curry ink and cut out then adhere to the back of each candle
  • Adhere candles to card with dimensionals

I got these decorative masks a while ago but haven't ever really used them. So this hop was the perfect time to pull them out and create! And can I just say that these are so much FUN!! Why didn't I use them sooner? Anyway, I kept this design pretty simple to show off the masking technique.

  • Card base is Hello Honey
  • Use the stars mask from the Hearts and Stars pack to create the background using a sponge dauber and Hello Honey ink
  • Create a long banner from Lost Lagoon card stock and adhere to the card base
  • Stamp the image from the Perfect Pennants stamp set onto a piece of Soft Sky card stock using Lost Lagoon ink and cut out using the Banners framelits
  • Tie a piece of white baker's twine around the banner and adhere to card with dimensionals
  • Stamp the image again onto a piece of Whisper White card stock using Watermelon Wonder ink and cut out the middle part then adhere to banner using dimensionals

CCMC Saturday Blog Hop: Punch Art

Hello everyone! It's time for another Create with Connie and Mary Saturday blog hop! This week we are featuring ideas that use punch art! I am your stop right after the fabulous Debbie Henderson

I had pinned this idea of a punch art wrench a while ago. When I looked to see how to make this wrench, I realized that a few of the punches used were now retired. That meant that I had to do a few revisions and this is what I came up with!

I was really happy with how fast and easy this all came together!

  • Card base is Smoky Slate
  • Run a piece of Basic Black card stock through the Big Shot using the Zig Zag embossing folder and adhere to card base
  • To make the wrench you need these punches: Word Window and 1 3/4" circle punches (makes the top part of the wrench) and 7/8" scallop circle punch and 1 3/8" circle punches (makes the bottom part of the wrench) and a strip to make the middle part of the wrench
  • All pieces of the wrench were punched from Smoky Slate card stock and then sponged with Smoky Slate ink then adhere the pieces together to make the wrench and adhere to card with dimensionals
  • Stamp the greeting from Guy Greetings onto a piece of Whisper White using Tuxedo black Momento ink and the tools image using Smoky Slate ink then flag the end and adhere to card
I meant to add a few silver mini brads but got so excited about how the card was coming together that I totally forgot! Lol!! Time to send you on to see what the fabulous Connie Babbert has created! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

CCMC Saturday Blog Hop: Watercolor Wash

Hello everyone! It's another Saturday blog hop with the Create with Connie and Mary team! This week we are featuring cards made using the Watercolor Wash technique! I am your stop right after the fabulous Debbie Henderson

I love the watercolor look but I don't do it very often. So this was a little out of my comfort zone. But here is what I came up with!

  • Card base is Lost Lagoon
  • On a piece of watercolor paper use an aqua painter to coat the stamped area with water
  • From the lid of the Lost Lagoon and Pear Pizzazz stamp pads, pick up ink with the aqua painter and randomly add the ink to the wet paper and let it bleed into each other
  • After the ink has dried, stamp the coral image from By the Tide using black StazOn ink and stamp the greeting from Guy Greetings using the same ink (I used a black journaling pen to color in the letters)
  • Adhere the stamped panel to a piece of Basic Black card stock then adhere to the card using dimensionals
  • Stamp the fish image onto a piece of Very Vanilla using Lost Lagoon ink and cut out
  • Adhere a piece of linen thread that has been looped several times to the back of the fish and then adhere to card with dimensionals
I hope you are inspired to give this great technique a try! So many beautiful color combinations and fun ways to make a beautiful card! Now it's time to send you on to Connie Babbert's blog to see her beautiful creation! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

  • Let it dry
  • Adhere panel to card base
