Good morning, Friends! Woohoo! Another Friday! I am off to visit my very good friend, Sherry! We are going to have a LOT of fun sewing this weekend! I'm hoping to get a nice cozy quilt sewed up! Sketch Frenzy Friday has a new sketch for you all to try this week! I do hope you will play along with us! This week's sketch was created by Robbie Rubula. Take a look!

It's a pretty clean and simple sketch! Love it! Here's what I created!

I made a pretty simple Halloween card. Summer Starfruit can be a scary color for some people. I happen to love it but what a better time to get out that "scary" color and use it for Halloween projects!! Lol!! Here are the details:

  • Card base is Summer Starfruit
  • Layer of Summer Starfruit that has the top corner torn then sponge layer with Summer Starfruit ink
  • Stamp lines image from Gorgeous Grunge in Summer Starfruit
  • Adhere a piece of Witch's Brew designer paper behind the torn corner and then adhere panel to card
  • Use the Apothecary Accents framelits to cut the shape from Basic Black card stock
  • On a piece of Witch's Brew designer paper, stamp the greeting from Halloween Hello in black StazOn and then adhere piece to Basic Black die cut shape
  • Add two mini brads to the ends of the die cut shape and then pop up onto card
  • Stamp bat in black StazOn onto Very Vanilla, cut out and pop up onto card
Be sure to visit the Sketch Frenzy Friday blog to see what the other designers did with this sketch! I hope you will be inspired to play along with us this week! We always love to see what you do with our sketches! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Good morning, Friends! Seems to be an early morning for me as I didn't sleep well last night. Of course, right when I finally start to relax and fall asleep it's time to wake up! Ugh!! I hope that doesn't make me lazy the rest of the day. Got lots of laundry to do and some more mad stamping!

I had a hard time taking a picture of this card. I didn't realize that it was going to get cloudy and rainy again yesterday but it did! And it did right when I was trying to take some photos - of course. I really liked the way this one turned out! I hope you do, too! Here are the details:

  • Card base is Whisper White
  • Layer of Whisper White run through the Big Shot with the Chevron embossing folder and then adhered to the card base

Autumn Circle Flip Card

Good morning, Friends! I have been kind of lazy around here these last few days. I have been busy but not with a lot of stamping. Today I need to try and get back on track with that. I am actually working on Christmas presents! So my fingers have been doing a lot of hand sewing. And I think that I am going to have a good jump on those! I also took a sewing class and that got me distracted, too. So back to stamping today!!

Today's card was one I did for the shoebox club I am in. I wanted to use the new Circle Card Thinlit. These are quite fun!! Stampin' Up! has come out with two different flip card versions. This is the circle one and then there is a label one. Taking a picture of the card is quite interesting! Here is the card closed.

And then opened...

Fun, huh!! The card will fit inside a regular A2 envelope! Love that! And I was able to create an extra panel for more writing on the inside. I simply followed Patty Bennett's video on how to do this. Very simple! Here are the details:

  • Use Sahara Sand and the Circle Card Thinlit to create the card base
  • Stamp the splatters using the Gorgeous Grunge set and Chocolate Chip ink onto the Sweater Weather designer paper, adhere to a piece of Chocolate Chip card stock and then to the flap of the card
  • Adhere a strip of Sweater Weather designer paper to the front panel of the card
  • For the circles adhere a circle of Chocolate Chip that was cut with the Circles #2 die
  • Stamp the leaf from Wonderfall in Tangerine Tango onto a scallop circle that was cut using the scallop circle die in the Thinlits package and then stamp some splatters from Gorgeous Grunge in Chocolate Chip then adhere to the front circle
  • Stamp the same leaf in Tangerine Tango (stamp off once) onto another scallop circle and then stamp the greeting from Perfectly Penned in Chocolate Chip directly over that and adhere to back circle
  • Stamp the leaf again onto a scrap of Whisper White in Crushed Curry and add some splatters with the Gorgeous Grunge set and Chocolate Chip ink, cut out and pop up onto card
  • Tie some linen thread around a piece of Naturals Trim and add to card
These are so fun to make and I hope that you try one, too! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Another Retro 79

Good morning, Stampers! What a wonderful weekend! But I just have a super hard time getting up for Monday! Ugh!! I read somewhere a funny quote that said, "I need another day between Saturday and Sunday". YES!! Wouldn't that be great - lol! Well, it finally cooled off around here yesterday! The days are getting shorter and now the weather is getting cooler... Won't be long! And it rained last night! Woohoo! We needed it so badly and we are supposed to get more! Thankfully I get a massage today! My lower back is killing me! I am looking forward to getting the kinks worked out!

Today's card was inspired by last week's Retro Sketches. This is actually the second card I made using that sketch. I am not quite in the mood for Christmas but I am working on a Christmas swap and a special Christmas card set for a design team so I was experimenting and playing to see what I could come up with. This happened to be an experiment. I love this very simple, clean lines, modern stamp set called Wishing You. Here are the details:

  • Card base is Chocolate Chip
  • Layer of Crumb Cake that was run through the Big Shot using the Stylish Stripes embossing folder
  • On the layer adhere a piece of Seasons of Style designer paper
  • Over the dsp adhere a piece of Season of Style washi tape
  • Stamp the greeting from Wishing You in Chocolate Chip onto a strip of Whisper White and pop up onto layer
  • Tie a piece of Cherry Cobbler baker's twine around layer and adhere to card base
  • Stamp the packages image from Wishing You using the Baked Brown Sugar, Old Olive and Cherry Cobbler markers onto Whisper White, cut out and pop up onto card
  • Add a rhinestone to the center of the bow on the middle package
Thanks for stopping by and have a marvelous day!

A Silver Butterfly

Good morning, Friends! I hope you are all having a wonderful weekend! Nick had a home soccer game yesterday afternoon and it was great! The boys played beautifully and WON!! Their season is off to a great start! I hope they keep this up! It is so fun to watch when they play like this! And I think they have figured out that they can beat anyone if they play like this! Anyway, it was fun! I think fall is really in the air. It is supposed to get cooler this week and boy do I hope so! We have been having very high temperatures this week and it's been awful! I'm ready for some cooler weather for sure! Today will be a stitching day for me!

Today's card was inspired by one I saw on Pinterest. I like the three strips of paper but I used washi tape! Here are the details:

  • Adhere three strips of Gingham Garden washi tape to a piece of Whisper White card stock
  • Use the Little Leaves sizzlet to cut a stem from Pear Pizzazz then pop up onto panel
  • Punch a butterfly from silver glimmer paper using the Elegant Butterfly punch and pop up onto panel
  • Stamp sentiment from Sweet Essentials in Night of Navy onto panel
  • Pop panel up onto card base of Whisper White
  • Punch flower from Melon Mambo using itty bitty shapes punch pack
  • Add rhinestone to flower center

Lots of fun with this one! I used a fall theme and here's what I created!

A fairly easy card but if you don't like cutting things out then using the coordinating die can make it all a little easier. I have an easier time cutting the leaves out than getting my stamping just right - lol! Anyway, here are the details:

  • Card base is Sahara Sand
  • Layer of Chocolate Chip
  • A layer of Sweater Weather designer paper is adhere to the Chocolate Chip and the greeting from Petite Pairs is stamped in Chocolate Chip
  • On Whisper White stamp the leaves from Wonderfall in Tangerine Tango, Crushed Curry and Soft Sky and cut out
  • Arrange leaves onto card and adhere together then pop up onto card
  • Fold a piece of Crushed Curry chevron ribbon in half and tie some linen thread around that and through a Naturals designer button then adhere to card
That's all there is to it! Be sure to check out the other fabulous creations at Create with Connie and Mary! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

SFF 090613

Good morning, Friends! It's Friday!! Woohoo! The Sketch Frenzy Friday team has a new sketch challenge this week! Jennifer Weide has provided this week's sketch! Check it out!

LOTS of possibilities with this one! Sometimes I get so overwhelmed with all the ideas I have going on so I settled on something very simple.

I thought this sketch would be great fun to show off the wonderful designs of the designer paper! And this sketch would be perfect for any of them! But I chose paper that had coordinating washi tape as I thought that would be perfect for the borders. Here are the details:

  • Card base is Very Vanilla
  • On a layer of Very Vanilla adhere a piece of Witch's Brew designer paper and then two strips of the Witch's Brew washi tape
  • Pop panel up onto card base
  • Use the 2 3/8" scallop circle punch to punch a scallop circle from Basic Black card stock (I put the scallop back into the punch, turned it and punched it again to get the points)
  • Punch a circle from silver glimmer paper using the 1 3/4" circle punch and adhere to scallop circle then pop up onto card
  • Punch a circle from Pumpkin Pie using the 1 3/8" circle punch
  • Stamp the skull image from the Halloween Hello set onto the circle with Pumpkin Pie and then the greeting in black StazOn then pop up onto card
  • It's hard to see but I added four rhinestones to each corner of the designer paper
Very simple! And nothing to cut out! I hope you check out what the other fabulous designers did with this sketch on the Sketch Frenzy Friday blog! Won't you play along with us this week? We love to see what you come up with! Thanks for stopping by and have a fabulous day!

CCMC 267

Good morning, Stampers! I'm here with a very special challenge from the ladies at Create with Connie and Mary! This week they have provided us with a fabulous sketch but they have put a twist on it. We are to use the sketch AND make a pocket card! How fun is that!! So here's the sketch:

I got the idea to make a Christmas card where you could use the pocket to put a family photo! And here is what evolved:

The scallop circle element is attached just at the upper corner of the insert so that it makes it easy to insert and pull out! I don't have a picture on my insert but that is where it would go. Here are the details:

  • Card base of Baked Brown Sugar
  • Layer of Baked Brown Sugar that has been folded over that has the four corners rounded with the corner rounder
  • Behind the pocket I adhered a piece of of the Seasons of Style designer paper and then a strip of the designer paper is adhered to the flap with the bottom corners rounded with the corner rounder
  • The pocket is then adhere to the card
  • Under the flap I adhere a piece of the designer paper after flagging the bottom and then adhered the flap down
  • I stamped the greeting from Wishing You in Baked Brown Sugar and used the label thinlet from the Circle Card Thinlets die to cut it out
  • The greeting is adhered to a piece of Champagne glimmer paper that was punched with the Decorative Label punch and then popped up onto the card
  • For the circle element I stamped the packages using Old Olive and Cherry Cobbler markers onto Whisper White, cut them out and popped them up onto a circle of Cherry Cobbler that was cut with the Circles #2 die
  • The circle is then adhered to a scallop circle of Old Olive that was cut with the scallop thinlet from the Circle Card Thinlets die
  • I popped up the circle element onto the Whisper White insert and added a rhinestone to the bow on the middle package
I hope you are inspired to play along with us this week! Check out with the other designers did with this super fun challenge this week! You can find their fabulous creations at Create with Connie and Mary. And while you're there, why not sign up for the Create with Connie and Mary Fall Collection? I use it for my stitching and sewing! And boy oh boy do I need to update my sewing blog! Geesh! It's been a whole year! And I have stuff to share! What's my deal? Freshly Made 101

Good morning, Friends! Wow! August flew by and here we are at September! I can't believe that at the end of this month my son will be starting basketball practice with the school! We have barely started soccer! One day at a time!! Thankfully we get to enjoy a long weekend. Nick is staying with a friend as his friend's birthday was yesterday. We will see him again on Monday. I feel like it's our birthday as we have a nice quiet weekend at home - lol! My husband and I even went out for dinner last night. That was fun and very tasty! We slept in this morning. Guess we will see what the day brings!

Today's card was inspired by the sketch at Freshly Made. I was in a grungy fall mood so this is what I created! Here are the details:

  • Card base is Crumb Cake
  • Stamp the slanted lines image from Gorgeous Grunge in Crumb Cake and the other lines image in Crushed Curry
  • On a layer of Crumb Cake stamp the splotches in Crumb Cake and then sponge the panel with Crumb Cake and adhere to card
  • Use the Autumn Accents die to cut two leaves - one from Crumb Cake and the other from the Sweater Weather designer paper
  • Run the leaves through the Big Shot using the Woodgrain embossing folder
  • Sponge both leaves with Crumb Cake and the add a few splotches with the Crumb Cake ink
  • Adhere leaves together
  • On the back of the leaves, adhere some linen thread by looping it around so that it extends beyond the leaves and then adhere to card with dimensionals
  • Stamp greeting from Four You onto a strip of Sweater Weather designer paper using Chocolate Chip ink and adhere to card
  • Tie some linen thread through a Naturals designer button and adhere to card
Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!
