Golden New Year

Good morning, Friends! I know it's not the New Year, yet but tomorrow is the Create with Connie and Mary challenge so I thought I would show you my New Year's card today! And we will be leaving tomorrow. I am going to miss the Rose parade. I think that is my favorite parade! I love seeing the creativity of using all organic materials to make such awesome creations! Oh well. It will be nice to get home and get the house in order.

So today's card is the fourth card that I did with my stamp club this month. Another super simple card that was fun to put together. I thought this card could be used for a lot of other occasions as well.

  • Stamp the speckles from Gorgeous Grunge onto the card base using gold Encore ink
  • Cut a piece of Very Vanilla and a piece of gold foil designer vellum using the Banners framelits then adhere them together
  • Tie a piece of gold taffeta ribbon around the banners then adhere to the card using dimensionals
  • Fold a string of sequins in half and adhere to banner
  • Stamp the sentiment from Good Greetings onto a strip of Very Vanilla using VersaMark and emboss using gold emboss powder

Lumberjack Love

Good morning everyone! We are having a snowy start to our day here in Kansas! I miss seeing the white stuff! And I am glad that I don't have to travel in it! It did look like Thursday would be the best day to travel but we will keep watching. I think we are ready to go home. ;)

Today's card is another valentine card. I won this lumberjack set from Stampin' Up! during the Occasions and SAB premier. I told my friend Emily that the only way I would every get this set would be to win it and guess what! So I guess it was meant to be! I do like him but I just need to spend more time thinking about what to do with him - lol!

  • Card base is Crumb Cake
  • Use the Large Scallop border edgelit to scallop the edge of a piece of Night of Navy card stock
  • Stamp the Woodgrain background stamp onto a piece of Crumb Cake using Crumb Cake ink and then adhere to the Night of Navy panel then adhere panel to card base with dimensionals
  • Stamp the lumberjack from Wood You Be Mine set onto Whisper White using Tuxedo black Momento ink then stamp his shirt using Crumb Cake ink
  • Color the lumberjack in using Blendabilities: Night of Navy, Crumb Cake, Smoky Slate and the skin tones
  • Carefully cut out the lumberjack and adhere him to the card with dimensionals
  • Stamp the greeting onto a strip of Crumb Cake using Night of Navy ink and flag the end then adhere to card
  • Add two Night of Navy candy dots to the card
A fun masculine valentine! I do like this set and look forward to seeing more ideas! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Love...

Good morning, Friends! We are still in Kansas where it has become very frigid! Love that we can stay inside and drink coffee and enjoy each other! Last night we got to catch up with aunts, uncles and cousins that we haven't seen in quite a while! What fun we had! Just seems like there is never enough time but we enjoy what time we do have. We also did a little shopping yesterday. Nick needed new shoes and he wanted to spend his Christmas money. And today we look to take down the tree and enjoy some football! And Pat is making gumbo! Yum!!

Today's card was inspired by a sketch I saw. It was an older one so I didn't keep track of where it came from. I kept it very simple. I just love the script words from the Hello Life set!

  • Card base is Whisper White
  • Use the scallop border punch to scallop the top of a piece of Basic Black card stock then adhere to card base
  • Adhere a piece of Stack with Love designer paper to the Basic Black panel
  • Cut a heart from red glitter paper using the Hearts framelits and adhere to card with dimensionals
  • Stamp the sentiment from Hello Life onto the card using Tuxedo black Momento ink
  • Add three rhinestones
Super simple! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

CCMC 332

Good morning, Friends! I apologize for not posting more. I hope that changes soon! Besides having very limited time, I also seem to lack the creative mind. But I have my stamp club coming up soon and I will need to get my projects for that done this weekend. Here's to hoping I get a lot done!! But today is the Create with Connie and Mary challenge! This week we are being challenged to make a gift card holder!

Hmmm... This one was difficult for me just because I didn't want to do something that has been done a lot before. And, as I said before, my creative side is just not cooperating. So I went searching on Pinterest. I found a super simple little tag that had a pocket. Perfect! I turned it into a gift card holder!

I cut a piece of Smoky Slate at 2 3/4" x 6 1/2". The top of the tag is cut using the Labels framelits. The bottom is scored at 2" and folded up then adhered with sticky strip. I added a piece of All is Calm designer paper to the front of the pocket. The tree from Festival of Trees is stamped onto Whisper White using Pear Pizzazz ink and the circles are stamped with Lost Lagoon ink then the tree is punched out with the Tree punch. I adhered the tree to the tag with dimensionals. I stamped the pot onto Whisper White using Smoky Slate ink and cut out then adhered to the tree. I stamped the greeting onto a strip of Whisper White using Lost Lagoon ink and flagged the end then I adhered it to the tree. I tied a piece of white baker's twine through a Nordic designer button and adhered it to the tag. I punched a hole at the top of the tag and tied a piece of Lost Lagoon taffeta ribbon through the hole.

There you have it! Be sure to see all the other wonderful ideas for gift tags at the Create with Connie and Mary site! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Card Recipe: Stamps- Festival of Trees; Paper- Smoky Slate, Whisper White, All is Calm designer paper; Ink- Pear Pizzazz, Lost Lagoon, Smoky Slate; Accessories- Tree punch, Labels framelits, Lost Lagoon taffeta ribbon, white baker's twine, Nordic designer button, dimensionals
