Happy Everything!

Good Day everyone! Since I am "pre-posting" this I will just make it short and sweet!

This card, again, uses Close To My Heart stamps. I also got out my Prima flowers for this one! I have several jars of these prima flowers and have hardly used them! Shame!! But I thought that they went so beautifully with this card. This layout was a sketch that I pick up somewhere and just fell in love with. The designer paper is also from Close To My Heart and very elegant and beautiful. So "Happy Everything" to you all and have a great day!!

Love Your Life

Happy Wednesday to all of you of the blogging world! By the time most of you read this, I will be on the road to Salt Lake City for Stampin' Up!'s annual convention! I am so excited! If there is anyone who would like to see a catalog be sure to give me a call so I can reserve one for you! I can't wait!!

Today's card is one that I sort of copied from the Cards Magazine. It is actually on the opposite page of yesterday's card that I sort of copied. Of course I used different stamps and tweaked the colors but the layout is pretty close. I didn't use Stampin' Up! stamps at all! I used Close To My Heart stamps. Remember... I am FREE!! It was so much fun to be able to play!! Anyway, I really liked the way it came out! I hope that it inspires you as well! Take care and come back tomorrow for more Close To My Heart cards!

Close To My Heart

Good Morning everyone! I am posting this without my usual morning cup of coffee so I hope that it will all make sense! Got to get this posted then take a shower then it's off to the free movie! This is the last week of free movies which is another sign that summer is coming to a close. But tomorrow I leave for convention!! I will set my computer to pre-post so that hopefully you will still be able to see cards while I am gone. I will also post my convention swaps while I am gone.

Today's card and the cards that will be posted the next three days are different than my usual ones. Now, I don't want anyway to get injured so you may want to sit down or hang on to something... But these cards are done with stamps other than Stampin' Up! stamps!!! GASP! When I started this blogging thing, I knew that I wanted to be able to post other kinds of projects and projects using products other than Stampin' Up!. And, about a month ago I went to a Close To My Heart party and ordered a set of their acrylic stamps, some blocks and paper. I played with them this past weekend and it was a blast! I hope that you like what I came up with as much as I do! I felt so free!!! I am glad that I was able to break away. There are many wonderful stamp companies out there who make some really great products as well.

Anyway, about the card... I actually copied it from a card from the recent Cards Magazine. I used different stamps and I added another color but other than that it is pretty close! I just love the new Tangerine Tango! It is the deep orangey-rusty color that I have been looking for! Have a great day! I will be "live" again next Tuesday!!

Dreams

Good Morning my blogging friends! It is the last week of July and soon (all too soon) summer will be coming to a close! For all you stay at home moms I know that you are secretly celebrating! I know I would be. But before that happens, I will be going to convention!!! I am getting more excited! We will be leaving on Wednesday (bright and early) and I will be back the following Sunday. I spent most of the day yesterday (in between doing piles of laundry) making cards to post while I am gone. It felt good to sit down and create.

Today's card is one that I that I came up with while trying to follow a sketch. I think it turned out o.k. This card uses a new stamp set that everyone will be able to see in a few weeks. It also uses new paper and a new accessory! I am really loving the new scallop border punch! I hope that you are getting as excited as I am about seeing the NEW catalog! Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!

Know Life

Good Morning my blogging friends! It looks to be another very hot sunny Sunday for us! Good thing I can stay indoors where it is cooler and play with my stamps! I just want to say that I am loving your comments! You all are so wonderful to say such nice things to me!! Thank you!!

Today's card is one I did a few weeks ago right after the new preview items came out. I didn't order this particular set but my sweet friend Sherry let me borrow hers and this is a card I came up with. I know it is very simple but I just love the way it came out. I can't wait to see the new catalog and get some coordinating accessories to go with the new In Colors. I think that's been the hardest part about having the new In Colors! Anyway, I think there are lots of possibilities here so I hope that it inspires you! Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!

So Saffron

Good Morning! I hope that you are all having a great start to Saturday! I slept a little later than I thought I might. I had a hard time getting to sleep! My legs just weren't ready to settle down. I really hate that!! Then my son had a bad dream that I had to rescue him from. So, that means that I just sleep a little later. But I am supposed to be at Emily's in 15 minutes. YIKES! Hey, Emily... I am going to be a little late!

Well, call me the biggest loser! And I don't mean in weight, either! Yeah... Well, Kristina's color challenge that I like to take part in... well, she put this little note on her blog about participating and that it was supposed to be due on Thursday at midnight. So, that means that I am not going to be a "real" participant for her top 10 (or even the random 10). Not that it matters to me (well, o.k. it does) but I just had fun using the colors to come up with a new combination. Anyway, the lesson learned here is to read the fine print!!

Today's card is one that I made a while ago. I haven't posted it because I don't really like the way it turned out. I was trying to go off a sketch, and, well... So, that should tell you that I don't have anymore cards to post. I need to get busy!! But I have been so busy with convention swaps that I haven't really worked on anything else. Well, I am off to Emily's to finish my last round of swap cards! Thanks for stopping by!!

Color Inspiration #17

Good Friday morning all!! Are you grateful for the weekend? I can't believe July is almost over!! YIKES! Where did it all go? It has been so hot and muggy here that I must admit, I am ready for cooler fall weather. But I am not quite ready for the summer to be over! Oh, well. It will be back again.

Today's card is for Kristina's color challenge! I am using this same layout for one of my swap cards for convention. But I thought I could also use it for the color challenge. The colors this week are Sage Shadow, Rose Red, Regal Rose and Whisper White. The Baroque Motifs set is one of my favorites and thought that it provided the elegance that went with the inspiration. I hope you all like it, too! I have been in the top 10 two weeks in a row! Maybe this time, too? Don't know. It is just fun to participate! It gives me new color combinations to play with and that is what it is all about! I hope you all play along, too.

Convention swap update... I went to my friend, Kim's house last night to work on swaps. I got 25 more swaps done! So, I am up to 50!! I am currently working on 25 more and I will be going to Becky's to work on those today. The one's I am working on today are way more time consuming but they sure turned out neat (in my opinion). I will be posting the swap cards next week! So, stay tuned! Have a great day!!

Fast & Fun Notes

Hello All! Another week is quickly coming to a close. Hang on, Friday is almost here! Remember that during the summer I don't like the weekends! But my husband does and so for that I am praising the weekends! And it is nice to have him home and spending time together.

Today's card is a layout that I got from one of my Stampin' Success Magazines. These magazines are for Stampin' Up! demonstrators only and are just a wonderful source of ideas! And this was one of them. I feel like the card is kind of plain but I really wanted to use some of my new In Colors. It is really hard to accessorize appropriately when you don't have the right accessories! And we women know a lot about that!! So, the black grosgrain will have to do until the NEW catalog is unveiled NEXT WEEK!!! Have a great day and be sure to stop by tomorrow to see what I have come up with for Kristina's color challenge.

Thank U!

Good Morning everyone! I am having a very frustrating time trying to post this morning. I keep getting error messages and of course this is the morning when I really need to get myself ready and moving! We are meeting friends for the free movie then lunch and then we are off to the 4-H fair! So, lots to do and to have this not work properly is extrememly frustrating! So, I hope that this will post the first time.

Today's card is a layout that I used for a swap I did a few years ago. I just changed the colors and the stamps. It's not my favorite but it works. And remember the color combination that I stumbled upon? Well, here it is again! I hope you like it but if you don't you might learn to because I have used it for another card! But I am saving that one to show you! I am using that card for one of my convention swaps! We will be leaving next Wednesday!! I have 25 card fronts done. I am hoping to get about 50 more done. No problem - right? Have a great day!!

Boho In Color

Good Morning! Hope your week is off to a great start! At least Monday is out of the way! I just want everyone to know how much I appreciate all your comments on my Color Inspiration card last week. Even though I don't respond to everyone, I really do cherish them all! Thank you!!! You guys are the best! I made the top ten again!!! I am so excited! You would have thought that I won a million dollars or something huge like that but this is huge for me! You can see all of the top ten and random picks here.

Today's card comes from Jan. She posted this card and I immediately loved it! She made this card for the last color inspiration challenge (Pumpkin Pie, Certainly Celery, Very Vanilla, Soft Sky). However, when I saw the card I saw the colors: Tangerine Tango, Baja Breeze, Very Vanilla and Kraft. Now I have been looking for new color combinations for the new In Colors ever since I got them two weeks ago. So, I was very excited when I put these together and came up with this! I am anxious to do more cards with this combination! Enjoy your day! I have got to get my convention swaps finished up! We leave next week! Til tomorrow!

New In Colors!

Good Monday morning to everyone! How was your weekend? Mine was fantastic! I don't think I have ever eaten so much in one weekend! And all of it was sooooo good! The Rockies won both games and that was really exciting! We kept trying to catch those fly balls but we will just have to keep trying. I find it kind of scary when those fly balls come too close! I can't wait to do this again!

Today's card is a layout that I got from the shoebox swap that I am in. My friend Becky (teacher Becky) did a card that had this layout. I thought it was so cute! Anyway, I changed stamps and colors and came up with this. What you are seeing is our NEW In Colors and NEW designer paper! I can't wait till convention to see what other combinations there are for these new colors. They are very different but I know that I will fall in love with them as well. The three flowers that have brads in them are punched out with the Three For You punch and then popped up. I also pierced (not so straight) along the bottom of the greeting. Thanks for stopping by and I will catch up with you again tomorrow! Now it's time to do laundry.

Kind Thoughts

Good Morning everyone! The weekend is here! We will be headed to Denver today for a Rockies game tonight and tomorrow. We will be back on Sunday so I probably won't post again until Monday. I know that I could "pre-post" but to be honest, I am out of cards to post and I need to do a little stamping!! If I get some time this morning, I will get right on that!! I have actually been doing more school preparation lately. Anyway, it will only be two days.

Today's card is one that I have done before (well, the layout anyway). I think that the original idea for the layout came from a Cards magazine. I liked Kristina's color challenge so much that I wanted to try it again. And, of course, I wanted to use my new stamp set!! So, here's what I came up with. Anyway, I hope that you like it. The middle flower is a felt flower. I keep forgetting that I have those! I need to use those up! Have a great day and a great weekend! Go ROCKIES!!

Color Inspiration #16

Good Morning my blogging friends! The weekend is almost here! Hang on!! I hope that you are having a great day so far. We are out of coffee here at the house and have been all week. It's really starting to affect me!! I really need my coffee in the morning!! I want to apologize for the picture this morning. It is really cloudy here with a chance of rain but so far no rain. Just a lot of clouds and humidity. Yuck!

I wanted to participate in Kristina's color challenge this week. The colors are really beautiful together so the color combination wasn't my problem. It was finding a layout to use with my NEW stamps! No, these are not new stamps for the new and upcoming catalog. I received these stamps from my Sell-A-Bration points. I really like the elegance of this set and thought you could do some really pretty things with it. I got it last night and started playing. This is actually a layout that my friend Molly showed us at our Shoebox swap. Anyway, I really liked the way the colors came together. I hope that it will inspire you as well! Thanks for stopping by!

A Fun & Fast Note

Good Morning! Boy, did I have a time trying to upload this morning! I think that I finally have this figured out. But now I have to hurry and post because we are going to the free movies today!

Last night I had a shoebox swap with some very wonderful ladies! We meet once a month and I always look forward to it! I got some very fun ideas that I will be sharing with you all! Today's card is the one that I did for the shoebox swap last night. Everyone seemed to like the layout. Does it look familiar? I did this card a few days ago with the Western Sky paper and the Thank U stamp from the True Friend set. It is a great layout and I look forward to trying some other things with it. Just in case you can't tell from the photo, the flower has been stamped again on a scrap piece of cardstock and cut out and then popped up. I also popped up the white panel. Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Exotic Picnic

Good Morning! I have to say that I did not sleep very good last night so I hope that this post will make some sort of sense. I guess I might have been dreaming about new cars!! We sure had a lot of fun yesterday and one of them just might find a new home! Time will tell and you can be sure that I will keep you posted!

I just want to thank everyone for your wonderful comments! Every time I read them I get a nice warm fuzzy feeling! And whenever I am feeling 'yucky', I just go and read them again. Thanks!! You are the best!

Today's card comes from an older issue of PaperCrafts magazine. I really love that magazine! Sometimes I forget that I wanted to copy a card or use an idea and then the magazine just sits around cluttering up the place. So, I got it out and used it! A lot of things are different about my card. Instead of the flower (like on mine) they used a button. And I do think that their card was probably smaller. Sometimes it's hard to tell on that. It might be hard to tell from the picture, but the card base is made from Bashful Blue and then I cut another piece of Bashful Blue and scalloped the edge. Kind of a nice effect. Anyway, there you have it! Enjoy your day!

Excitement!

Good Morning! Once again, it looks super hazy and smoky outside. No problem! I'll just stay inside and craft! My favorite thing to do anyway!! Actually, I do have to venture outside. I told my son that we would go and buy school supplies today. I like to beat the rush and swarms of people. Don't shoot me, but I prefer paying full price without all the people than finding a bargain and risk getting mauled! I also have to go to the school and test a fifth grader and then we are going to look at new cars! Not sure if we will buy anything (we are really in no big rush) but I find test driving very exciting!

I also wanted to let you know about the card that I posted last week for the color inspiration challenge. Kristina picks her top 10 cards and then randomly picks another 10 to highlight on her blog. Well, I was chosen as her top 10!!! I am so excited!! And because I did that I have gotten a lot of comments! Who knew? Anyway, that was so much fun that I will be trying again! You can view all of the top 10 picks and random picks here.

Today's card is one that I cam up with from a sketch. I have been wanting to use my arrow punch for quite some time but could never find the right time. Anyway, I thought it went great on this one. I actually made another card with this same layout that I like a little better but I will show you that one in a few days. I am going to use it for a shoebox swap that I am in. Just a little note about the 'thank you'. I inked up only the "thank" part in a Ruby Red marker, then I stamped the "U" in Bayou Blue on a scrap piece and cut it out. It is popped up as well as the white panel. A pretty simple card! Enjoy your day!!

Sweet Embrace

Good Sunday Morning! It is another beautifully, hazy, smoke-filled morning here in the valley. Woke up with a migraine so I took some medicine and am now drinking coffee to try to curb it a bit. In a little while we will be heading up the mountain to visit with my husband's brother and his family as they have come from Kansas. Should be a fun day! My in-laws live up the mountain and we always find it a good time when we are up there.

One of the things that I love to do are to browse other blogs. There are so many that have sketches that they offer to others. So, I am getting quite a collection of sketches! This is a sketch that I came across. I am sure that it's been around for a while but I will enjoy using this again and again! It is really a simple card but it packs a lot of "punch"! Can you believe that I actually used my corner rounder for what it is supposed to be used for? As always, if you have any questions just let me know! Have a great day!

Congratulations!

Good Morning! I had a hard time sleeping in this morning so I got up and started working on a card I could post. I need to get more cards done so I can stay caught up!! Stamping and a cup of coffee are a great way to start one's morning!!

Today's card is one I took out of the recent PaperCrafts magazine. Of course they used different paper and stamps but the layout is pretty much the same. The card is pretty simple but I really liked the way it turned out. I used my corner rounder to scallop the edge because my order from Stampin' Up! hasn't come yet with my NEW scallop border punch!! I can't wait to use that! My wonderful friend Sherry let me use her new toys last night!! Thanks, Sherry!! I hope that you all have a wonderful weekend!

Color Inspiration

Good Morning! I had a really hard time getting a good picture this morning. The sun is up but the sky is really hazy with smoke from all the fires around here and CA. In fact they are warning people to limit their time outside especially if you have allergies due to the poor air quality. It's supposed to start raining on Sunday so I really hope it does and gets this smoke out of here!

Today's card is one I did quite a while ago. I loved this card when I first did it but wanted to do it again in colors that wouldn't retire. I had even thought about doing this card for convention but it did get a little time consuming. Don't pass out but I did cut three of the little blossoms out and pop them up. I just love the dimension! Anway, I have been a "lurker" of Kristina Werner's blog and she posts color inspiration challenges. I have never participated but have always wanted to. So, when I saw these colors in her challenge I just couldn't pass it up! I LOVE these colors!! So, I knew that I could make this card again and try it with these colors. I hope you all enjoy your day! The weekend is here!! Thanks for stopping by!

Saffron Rose

Good Morning my wonderful blogging friends! I hope that your day is off to a fabulous start! I was able to sleep very good last night and even slept in a little this morning! Love it!!! I need to enjoy these "sleeping in" days as they will all too soon come to an end. For those of you who may be wondering about my leg and the little softball incident... well, it is practically healed up! It looks so much better! I still have an unusual lump on my knee so I may have to have that checked out but I am just happy that my leg is it's normal color! Thank you to all of you who were so concerned. I think that I may even try to do some DDR!

Today's card is one I made up from a sketch. I really liked the way it came out. I am using this same layout for my swap cards but I won't show you those until the time comes closer (not too long from now). This is really pretty simple! I did pop up the rose panel over the ribbon and then I stamped the rose again and colored it in and cut out just the rose bud and popped that up, too. Again, it's my favorite set! Have a great day and stay cool!!

Catalog Inspiration

Good Morning everyone! I have been busy working on swap cards for convention! I can't believe it is only a few weeks away! I really need to get busy! And then when I went to find a card to post I also realized that I need to get some more cards made for the blog! So much stamping to do. I am just glad that I have the time now! It won't be long and school will be starting and then I really won't have any time!!

Today's card is one I copied from the catalog (changing the colors and stamps, of course). You can find it on page 72. I have always liked that card and finally got around to making it. The catalog is filled with so many great ideas! I hope that you use it to help inspire you! Take care and have a great day!

Designer Friend

Good Morning everyone! I can't believe that we are into July already! I am trying not to think about the start of the school year but then there are some things that I really do need think about before I start! UGH! Anyway, I will deal with that later. When I was back in Kansas visiting with family, I learned that my cousin Becky visits my blog! I am so excited to know that!! Hi, Becky!! So, don't confuse my Beckies, now. I have one in Kansas (cousin Becky) and one here in GJ (teacher Becky). Teacher Becky does the card classes that I copy a lot of ideas from. Speaking of which, I will be going to card class tonight! YEA!! Last night I had scrapbook class with her. She made some really great pages. Now to get some pictures on them!

Today's card is a layout that I copied from teacher Becky. She had a card similar to this one in her basket and I copied it (well, the layout anyway). I don't know if it is my favorite. For me it seems a little busy. I would like to try this layout again and do something a little different. As always, if you have any questions just let me know! Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Friend/Flight Happenings

Good Morning! I am back safe and sound from my trip! I did have a most wonderful time with my family and extended family! The flight out was uneventful for the most part but the trip back was quite interesting! My husband and our friend accompanied us back home and we had some interesting characters on our flight! Nick and Pat sat next to each other a couple of rows behind Tony and I. In front of Tony and I was a young mom with a young child on her lap who was very LOUD! I think that her child might become deaf as well. She had an extremely offensive t-shirt on and kept wishing she could smoke a cigarette and drink more alcohol. Then there was the lady behind my husband and son who came on board so totally wasted that she had to scramble to the bathroom before we even took off so she could throw up! YIKES! Where do these people come from? And all this to tell you that we taxied out to the runway to sit for 30 minutes and then taxied back to the gate to wait for another hour before we flew to Denver. Yes, Denver was experiencing some really bad weather and that's what delayed us. My entire family made it back to their homes long before we even left the ground! Then when we finally got to Denver we had to sprint through the airport to find the next gate and made it with about 10 minutes to spare! We made it home about an hour and a half later than we were supposed to. But it did give me something fun to share with you all!!

Anyway, today's card is one that I got from a sketch. Again, it's getting close to convention and I need to come up with some ideas for swaps! This won't be one of them but I thought it turned out nice. It is similar to others that I have done. If you have any questions about the mechanics just let me know. Have a great week and as my son said, "It's good to be home!"

If It Ain't Baroque...

Hello All! I hope that you are enjoying your weekend! We will get back tonight and I am sure that I will be able to tell you that we all had a fantastic time!

Today's card was inspired by a card I saw in the Cards magazine. Again, it looks totally different but the colors are pretty close. I really like the Soft Sky and Close To Coca together. I think that the brads could have been left out and it would have looked just as elegant but I just had to have them in there! Anyway, it was pretty simple to put together. I will be back tomorrow "live"! Talk to you then!

Butterfly Kindess

Good Day everyone! I hope you all had a fantastic fourth! It's great to have it on Friday because the weekend is right there after it! I will be back tomorrow night so tomorrow's post will be the last "future" post.

Today's card is one I came up with from a sketch. I am not sure I totally like it but it's o.k. I think that next time I would leave out the swirls on the card. Anyway, it was fairly easy to put together. Enjoy your weekend! And, as always, you can leave a comment or e-mail me with any questions.

Happy Fourth!

Happy Fourth of July! We are in such a wonderful country to have the freedoms that we do! I hope that you all have an awesome day!

I usually don't make fourth of July cards but Becky inspired me! I was at her house and she was making her cards and I thought that I should do one for the blog. So, here's mine! I was inspired by a layout in the Cards magazine. If I told you which one you would think I was nuts because it looks nothing like what is in the magazine! But I do like the way it turned out. By the way... The large white star was from a die that Becky cut for me. Enjoy your holiday!!

Embrace The Heart

Hello! How's your week going? Are you ready for a day off? We are getting ready for a big barbecue and fireworks for tomorrow. I will even have a special card for tomorrow!! Stay tuned! And that's assuming that everything is working as it should!

Today's card comes from the Stampin' Up! catalog! I got it out the other day and picked layouts that I really liked and made them up. This card can be found on page 53. I haven't used the catalog much to copy layouts and I should! There are some really great ideas in the catalog. Enjoy!

Simply Embrace

Hello again! Is it Wednesday? Did this post on Wednesday? I guess I will have to wait and find out!

Friday night, when I was at Becky's playing, I used a sketch to come up with this card. I really like the simplicity of it. I hope that you all find some inspiration with it. Can you believe that I didn't use any ribbon? I tried to find a place for some but then decided that it is better without it (gasp). Have you all guessed how much I like this stamp set? I am running out of titles for my posts when I use this stamp set. Now I can only think of goofy, cheesy titles. Sorry. Enjoy your day!

Embracing Ginger Blossoms

Good Day to you all! I am hoping this posts on Tuesday because that is what I am scheduling it to do. I hope that you all are having a great day!

Today's card is another layout that I found at Becky's! She was making Fourth of July cards with this layout (which are VERY cute, by the way). So, I switched out the stamps and paper and colors and came up with this! I really like the way it turned out! I hope you all do too! Enjoy your day!
