Vintage Razzleberry

Good afternoon, Friends! I think that I might blow away here pretty soon! My goodness the wind blows! No rain to speak of so the air is just really dirty looking. Yuck! Ahhhh! It's Wednesday! And we get Friday off!! I am looking forward to sleeping in and spending time creating.

Today's card is one that I made from a sketch. And I suddenly can't remember where I got it from. Dang! I hate it when that happens! I was so sure that I was keeping track but when I went back to make sure I can't seem to find it. The Old Olive taffeta ribbon is no longer available but I have so much of it left that I wanted to get it used up. I love the taffeta ribbon and it is such a great addition to this card. Thanks for stopping by! Have a super day!!

Sweet Pea Thanks

Good afternoon, Friends! The wind has sure picked up around here and now my allergies are being affected. Nick's is, too. We will have to watch that. There is so much dust in the air that my throat is so dry and scratchy. And you feel like you are actually chewing it! Yuck!! Soccer practice got cancelled tonight because there is a meeting for all parents who are letting their kids tryout for the next season. I am excited to hear what this is all about! The whole reason behind this hand selected team was to have them try out and play with the "big boys". Tryouts aren't until June but this will give us a "heads up".

Today's card is one that I quickly came up with for the Stamping 411 sketch. I need to get this Sweet Pea designer paper and felt pieces used up. I really liked the way the paper takes center stage. Hardly any stamping on this one! Very simple!! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Birthday to the Extreme

Good afternoon, Friends! I hope that your Monday was a good one. It is always nice to get Mondays over with. And today was a good one for me. Nothing major happened and that is always nice!

Today's card is made up from a sketch that I got off of the Stampin' Connection website. I really liked this one as it is unique to anything else I have seen or done. I couldn't wait to jump in and give it a try. Lately it seems that I have really been into the 'extreme' look. I am having so much fun with it! Maybe it's because my son is outdoors more and riding his motorcycle. I know that when I go to pick out colors, I try to pick out his favorites. Anyway, it was a fun card to put together! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Easter Flowers

Good Sunday morning everyone! What a beautiful day it looks to be! And a lot warmer than yesterday. Well, I didn't do a whole lot yesterday. I manage to watch Kansas State lose. What's up with that? UGH! Can you believe this March madness? I am tired of picking the losers so I am just going to watch and see who can take the whole thing.

Today's card is one that was made up from a sketch that I got somewhere and I can't remember exactly where. Cool sketch, though. I love the spring-y colors on this one. And next Sunday is Easter! Pretty simple card. Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Trendy

Good morning, Friends! Boy it is really chilly this morning! Brrr!! And in a few hours, Nick has baseball practice. I hope it warms up a little by then. At least the sun is shining.

This card is one that I have made before. Except I made it with different stamps. I copied it out of last year's catalog. I really liked the simplicity of it. If you wonder how I can get the tree to line up so perfectly, wonder no more. I use the Stamp-a-ma-jig. That works perfectly for me and it is quick. Thanks for stopping by!

Awash With Flowers

Good afternoon everyone! It's Wednesday and I love Wednesdays! It means that I am "over the hump" and ready to sail into the weekend! My thinking has been that once I get past this last full week of March, things will go pretty fast for April and May. The sports will be in full swing and there will be games like crazy and tournaments to play in as well. And the weather is shaping up to be nice and sunny and that always puts us all in a good mood. Tonight we meet Nick's baseball coach and the rest of the team. I am optimistic for the baseball season. It should be a good one!

Today's card is one that I made from a sketch. But for the life of me I cannot remember where I got the sketch from. I am drawing a complete blank. But here is my card. Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!!

Way To Go, Nick!!

Good early morning! I have to make this a quick one as I need to be getting myself and my son to school. It looks to be rainy today. Bummer. After such a splendid day yesterday.

Today's card is in honor of my son. Remember me saying that last Saturday he had baseball tryouts? Well, the coaches got together last night to do the "draft". We were really hoping for a certain team/coach but we knew it was a long shot as Nick was a first round draft pick. Doesn't that sound funny? I think so! I mean, he is only 10! We found out this morning that he got picked up by someone we don't know. So we didn't get the coach/team we wanted but we will see what happens this season. So, Nick Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Awash With Flowers For You

Good afternoon everyone! Boy it feels good to have Monday over with! And the sun is out and it's warm outside! Makes me wish for the lazy days of summer. But I still have nine more weeks of school left.

Today's card is one that made from a Splitcoast sketch. This stamp set, Awash With Flowers, is a new one that will be in the 2010-2011 catalog. However, Stampin' Up! is running a special where you can order this stamp set during the month of April! Sound great? This stamp set is SOOOO easy and SOOOO much fun to use! I love it!! I use the cling stamps to make it even easier to place the images right where I want them. Be ready to get yours on April 1 (no foolin')!! Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Small Wonder

Good Sunday morning everyone! And it is a sunny one!! Yea!! While it was sunny yesterday it was still very chilly! But it is supposed to warm up very nicely this week and I am so excited for that! Because it was so chilly I decided that I didn't really need to go to the baseball tryouts. I thought that I could send dad with Nick and I would stamp while they were gone. It worked out really well! It's nice to have that peace and quiet every once in a while. Our Internet was EXTREMELY slow this morning so it has taken me almost half an hour just to get to this point. I sure hope it starts speeding up! We don't pay all this money to have it just lag. Frustrating!

Anyway, today's card is one that I did during spring break for a challenge on Stampin' Connection. It was a sketch challenge. I am not great with circles. I don't know why but they do challenge me. I like them and all but it is hard for me to make them work on a card. This card actually started out to be a card for a friend who was moving away but when I got to the point of putting the greeting on the card I looked at it and thought it looked more like a baby card so I changed the greeting and thus my friend got a different one. It's interesting how those things work out. Well, I guess it is laundry and more stamping. March madness proved to be VERY maddening yesterday as KU lost! UGH!!! What is up with that? Thanks for stopping by and have a super Sunday!

Card Recipe: Stamps- Whimsical Words; Paper- Whisper White, Sweet Pea designer paper; Ink- Sahara Sand; Accessories- Whisper White taffeta ribbon, Bashful Blue taffeta ribbon, linen thread, button latte, 1 3/4" circle punch, 1 3/8 circle punch, perfect polka dots impressions folder, Big Shot, dimensionals

Wonderful Mother

Good morning everyone! It looks to be a super Saturday around here! Nick is supposed to have baseball tryouts today. I haven't heard, yet, if they are cancelled. It rained yesterday and they weren't sure if the fields would be dry in time. One thing is for sure and that is it will be pretty chilly out there! And because there has been so much snow for such a long period of time, not to mention that the temperatures haven't been all that warm (except for the beginning of this last week), we haven't been able to go outside and practice with him. This could be interesting. I am sure he will do fine. I also just found out that his soccer team is playing another level up. WOW! So my ten year old will now be playing against twelve year olds! This will be good for them! But at least we won't have to travel near as much. But watch out for next year...

Today's card is one that I did over spring break for the featured stamper challenge on Stampin' Connection. The featured stamper was Wendy Hawkinson. We were to pick a card of hers and copy it while changing a few things. Here is the card I chose. I really liked her layout! And I love all the blue together but I didn't use it for my card. I'm still trying to use up the Bermuda Bay! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Extreme Birthday

Hello everyone! Are you as excited as I am that it is the weekend? Yahooo!!! I am really worried about next week when I will be in school for all five days instead of four! Oh my! What will I do? Well, I won't worry about that right now because I am getting ready to go to my friend, Becky's house and have a lovely dinner with friends and then stamp into the evening. I got the new two-step Awash With Flowers set that I want to try and make some samples with. This is a special that Stampin' Up! is running for the month of April. I really like this set and am anxious to play a little with it. I hope to have some samples for you all next week. So stay tuned!

Today's card is one that I made during spring break. Stampin' Up! demonstrators have a special community where they can share artwork, comments and ask questions. There is a lot to do and I love visiting it! Anyway, there is a weekly sketch challenge and I submitted this card for one of them. I just love this extreme look! Of course my son loves it, too! And I think it turned out quite nice as well! Thanks for stopping by and have a super start to your weekend! It's March Madness time!!!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Good evening everyone! I have been back at school now for two days and I am already very tired! But things are going well. I really have a super bunch of kiddos this year! And I keep marking off the days until summer break! I miss my stamping time but I will stamp when I do have time and we will all get through. It is going to get really busy around here but I like it that way.

Today's card is in celebration to St. Patrick's Day. I am pretty sure I followed a sketch but I can't remember where. It is truly very simple! Thanks so much for stopping by and have a super day!

Congratulations

Good morning everyone! Spring is back around here! The sun is shining and we will be warming up this week!! I am so excited for that! However, tomorrow it is back to work. Dang! I have really enjoyed this time off. And I know my son won't be excited to get back to school. The only reprieve is that this quarter usually flies by! And we will have tons of sports to keep us quite busy!!

For today's card I used Karen Giron's sketch. It is a good one! So versatile! I just found out that a date has been set for my brother-in-law's wedding and I thought that this would be a nice one for them. I notched out the 5-Petal Flower punch by taking the same punch and punching each petal with the tip of the punch. Just to give it a different look. And I used Going Gray for the sentiment because I wanted a softer look. I love white on white! Well, I will try to get a post up tomorrow but it will probably be Wednesday. Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Go Green Again!

Good Sunday morning, Friends! Although the sun is not shining here! Nope! It is rainy and we are surrounded by clouds which means the nearby mountains are getting snow and it just looks cold and miserable out there! So, I guess I will have to find something to do inside. Hmmm. I wonder what that will be!

Today's card is one that I did a while ago. I actually got the idea from a Stampin' Success magazine. I did mine totally different but that is where I got the inspiration from. Pretty easy! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Beautiful Wings

Good morning everyone! I just want to say that I had SO much fun yesterday making those rag purses with Becky! We went shopping to find fabric and get the other necessary supplies. I got so overwhelmed in the fabric store that I almost walked out with nothing. But then I found some that caught my eye and I am so glad that I got some! I did forget to get a button for my closure so I will have to go look for one today and then I can sew that on and the handles and then it will be done! I will be sure to post a picture as soon as it gets done. I was really apprehensive at first as it has been YEARS since I have done any kind of sewing (you might even say decades)! The great thing about these purses is that they are supposed to have that "rag" look so it is not supposed to be perfect. Whew!! And thanks to Sherry who came at just the right moment to help me with the bottom of my purse so the corners would come out right. Too fun!!

Today's card inspiration comes from Cindy Beach. She did this card and I fell in love with the layout! I just had to try something like that on my own. So here is what I came up with. Super easy!! Thanks for stopping by and have super day!!

{friend}

Good morning, Friends! Well it's Friday. And normally I would be thrilled like most of you are but this signals the closing to my spring break. I have thoroughly enjoyed it! And it looks as if the weather may start to cooperate and finally get warmer. We will see. My massage therapist says that there always seems to be one last big spring snow storm. I hope not this year. Anyway, it will be a push to the end of the year but I can do it! I feel energized and revitalized. This afternoon I am getting together with my friend Becky to make some of those cool rag purses that are so popular right now. I will post a picture in the next day or two. I am really excited about trying this out!

Today's card is one that I made up earlier this week. I played along in a challenge that was posted on Stampin' Connection. This is a website for demonstrators only. There was a challenge on there to 'CASE' a card from Gretchen Barron but change a few things to make it your own. Here is the card that I chose to 'CASE'. As you can see I changed quite a few things but I did keep the general layout and color scheme. I love this piece of designer paper from the Sending Love specialty designer paper series pack. This is also the card that I took to my shoebox club last night. I think they liked it, too. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your Friday!

Praying for You...

Good morning everyone! It finally looks to be a fabulous day! The sun is shining and the clouds are few! And I have a massage this afternoon!! Even though I am feeling pretty relaxed from being on spring break I am still in need of one!

Today's card is one that I got from the current Stamp It magazine. I love to through these magazines and find layouts. And this one was pretty simple! The only thing is that I wish that I had placed my pearls a little more strategically but my tweezers were not cooperating with me and so it was like wherever they landed is where they got stuck! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Card Recipe: Stamps- Thoughts & Prayers; Paper- Whisper White, Cottage Wall designer paper; Ink- Rich Razzleberry, Old Olive; Accessories- Whisper White taffeta ribbon, corner rounder, dimensionals, (pearls are from Kaiser)

Best Wishes

Good morning, Friends! I hope that your week is going just super! Mine sure is! But it is going by pretty quickly and I feel like I still have so much more that I want to do to take advantage of this free time! Yikes! It is snowy and rainy again this morning but it looks like it will clear out after tomorrow. Later this morning, I am getting a pedicure with some other teachers from school. We will meet for coffee before hand and then all go together. Should be a really fun morning!

Today's card is one that I case'd from the latest Stamp It magazine. I was looking for something super simple and you can't beat this! I also wanted something really spring like. I haven't used my Soft Subtles for very many cards and thought that Amethyst 'fit the bill' this time. When I had put it together it seemed very elegant like and I thought that it would be good for a wedding. I don't know anyone getting married right now but it would be good for that. Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Wonderful Friend

Good morning, Friends! Boy this week is sure flying by! And it's no surprise since it is my vacation! Dang!! Supposed to rain again. My husband asked me if I was upset that it was raining on my vacation and I said no. Just means that I have to stay inside and find something to do - like stamp!! And that's what I have been doing. I also get to upload samples to my Stampin' Connection page (this is for demonstrators only). I have a few samples on there that I haven't posted here, yet. But don't worry, I will! I am also going to try and enter the Take 5 contest that Stampin' Up! is doing for demonstrators. I have a LOT of these kinds of cards. This is my kind of contest! So I will be working on that, too. Tomorrow I am getting a pedicure with some friends from work! That should be really fun!

Today's card is an idea from Dawn McVey. I did change mine up a bit but that's how it all started. I also wanted to use up some of this Bermuda Bay paper. It won't be long and it will be retired. I still have quite a bit left! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

A Rose is a Rose

Good morning, Friends! Yea!!!! I am on spring break! I can do whatever I want! And I want to stamp some more!! Nick is even on a "break" from sports at the moment. We didn't have any games this weekend! Now this will be short lived. And soccer practices did start last week but that's it! So rec basketball is over but he was asked to be on a team that a coach wants to take to a tournament later in April. I think this is very exciting! So those practices will start up again. The team has special jerseys for this tournament. Our college in town is Mesa State and their mascot is the maverick (Mavs for short). So the boys have a real looking Mavs jersey!! They LOVE it!! I am really excited to see how they will do! But don't forget that baseball tryouts are in two weeks! Yikes!!!

So today's card started from Karen Giron's Sweet Sunday Sketch. As you can see it ended up not even close. I just didn't want to take away from the rose. I can't believe it turned out as great as it did. I stamped on Barely Banana with Crushed Curry and then used my blender pen to highlight some areas. Super easy! Well, I hope it is more "springy" where you are. Looks like rain or snow or both around here. Thanks for stopping by!

Think Spring

Good Sunday morning, everyone! It is Sunday but not too sunny around here. I think that it is supposed to rain or snow or something. Yesterday was really nice and my son was able to get out and get riding on his four-wheeler (actually his uncle's) and loved every minute of it! The other night my friends and I were discussing if we thought that March came in like a lion or a lamb. That is a hard call for us because the first few days were gentle enough. Maybe a little cooler than we would like. But on the fourth it was windy and wild and blowing rain and the like. I wonder what that means then for the end of the month?

Anyway, I made this card for the PPA32 challenge. The challenge was to think spring and make a spring like card. This is what I thought of. I got the card layout from Clean & Simple and the flower idea from the catalog. It says spring to me! And as I watched the weather report last night, I see that our temperatures are supposed to be warmer and that makes me excited! Thanks for stopping by and have a super Sunday!

Clean & Simple #81

Hello everyone! What a wonderful day it has been! I have done absolutely nothing! I have finally been able to catch up on some blog surfing of my favorite blogs. I was able to watch KU play. And that's been about it. I finally decided to participate in a sketch challenge and post it.

This is from the Clean & Simple blog challenge #81. I just liked how simple it was and I already have some other ideas floating in my head that I would like to try out so stay tuned! Since St. Patrick's Day is coming, I thought I would enjoy this stamp. It's my favorite St. Patrick's stamp that I own. I did change my card just a bit from the sketch by layering the greeting and popping it up. That allowed me to put in a gold brad. Too fun! Have a super day!

Sweet Pea

Hey, Friends! It's Friday!! And it is the start of my spring break!! I am so excited! I am so looking forward to a week off from school and time to get caught up and rested! I am about ready to go out the door to stamp with friends and I have volunteered to make dinner tonight. My husband is helping me out so I have a few minutes to get this post up.
This came from a sketch that I found sometime last weekend. I can't even remember where anymore. This whole week seems like a blur. But anyway it was a chance for me to use my Sweet Pea stitched felt. Thanks for stopping by and be checking back this next week as I plan to stamp during spring break! Yea!!!

Sharing...

Good afternoon, Friends! It is feeling a lot like spring today!! We finally broke 50 degrees!!! I can't believe it! The sun is out and everyone is in a great mood! And there is only four more school days until spring break! Wahooo!!!

Today's card is one that just kind of came to me as I was looking at other cards and card sketches. I started out just wanting to stamp the tree in VersaMark on the Kraft but then I got out my pastels and started coloring over the VersaMark. Do you remember the pastels? I had to dust mine off!! It has been a really long time since I got those out!! But I am glad I did. Another super simple card. Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Card Recipe: Stamps- Thoughts & Prayers; Paper- Kraft, Chocolate Chip, Pretty In Pink; Ink- VersaMark, Chocolate Chip; Accessories- Beautiful Wings embosslit, scallop trim border punch, pastels
