A Copy

Good Sunday morning! It's been a great weekend around here! Having my parents here is so great! I do wish that we lived closer together. Not much to say about life. I guess that's good. We only have four more baseball games left. Wow! And guess what? My softball season starts on the 11th! Wish me luck! I plan to take it easy as we are playing on the "Just for Fun" league! Yeah right! We still wanna win!! But I do think it will be fun.

Today's card is one that I copied from Dawn McVey. I was feeling mojoless one day and after looking through her blog found this card to copy. This is my version using all Stampin' Up! products. I do like the way it turned out. I don't think that I would mail this one. But you could give it to someone. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Watercolor Rose

Good morning friends! Looks like we are ready for another gorgeous day! Not much else to say. Nick has a baseball game later today and then I am not sure what we will do with the parents. It's been nice to just hang out and chill.
Today's card is one that I did at my friend Emily's house. Isn't gorgeous? She was doing this technique with her customers and let me do one for myself. Thanks, Emily!! I think that this is my all time most favorite card EVER!! I just can't stop looking at it! I had so much fun doing this technique that I wanted to try it again. Well, it didn't turn out quite this nice. But I will keep trying. I think what really sets this card off is the coated white pin stripe paper from the Taste of Textiles pack. I don't have any of that but she let me use what she had. Anyway, just gorgeous! Thanks again and again, Emily!!

Summer Sunflower

Good Friday morning everyone! It's a beautiful day here in Western Colorado! I have to make this quick to get my son up and going to his baseball skills camp. Can't trust him to wake up on his own (lol).

Today's card was made from a sketch I had. I believe it was one of Di Hickman's? Again, I need to write that part down. Anyway, I used my friend, Emily's stamp set, Wagon Full of Fun from the Occasions mini catalog. Not much to it. Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!

Bold Cupcake

Good morning everyone! I hope you all have had a fabulous week! You probably won't hear me cheering for the weekend during the summer (lol). But I know that my husband looks forward to the weekend as many of you do, too. Another busy day today. Mainly cleaning as my parents will be here today!! We got a lot done yesterday but there always seems to be more to do. Well, it will be what it will be.

Today's card is from a layout that I had sketched a while ago. I can't remember where I found it but I wanted to give it a try. I was at my friend, Emily's house yesterday and she has this set, Wagon Full of Fun from the Occasions mini. I don't have this set and thought I could come up with a few cards with it. I used the circle scissors to make the circles. So easy to do! Then just strips of paper. Bright colors for me but it is something different. Enjoy!

Parisian Breeze

Good morning all! Couldn't sleep so I decided to get up and make a card early this morning. Took me a little while to get inspired but I did manage to come up with something. It is turning out to be a busy day (from having nothing planned up until 12 hours ago). And I still need to clean my house as my parents will be here tomorrow afternoon! Yea!! I am hoping to get some cards made while they are here. I even have a space cleaned off in my stamp room for my mom!

Anyway, the card I did today was inspired by a sketch from Di Hickman. I haven't checked out her blog in quite a while and found an old sketch on there that interested me. So, here is my version. Pretty simple! Of course there is so many other ways to use this sketch and I may try them out as well. Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!

Sweet Stems

Good morning friends! I think that the rain is going to start giving us a little break. The temperatures sure have been great! Some might say it's cold but knowing how hot this summer will get, I think we have been blessed! I have to go into school this morning for a breakfast and some last minute clean-up. Then it's check-out time for me! Woo Hoo!!

Today's card is one of my favorites! It is so easy!! I decided to dust off my Sweet Stems set and it worked perfectly for this card. I used a greeting from the Sweet Little Sentiments hostess gift set. A little ribbon and there you have it! Super fun and simple! Have a great day!

Color Inspiration #53

Happy Memorial Day everyone! I hope that you are all having a restful weekend. I know that I sure am! I haven't posted in a few days because I have just been LAZY!! It is so nice to be lazy! The weather is cooperating with my mood, too. It has been raining off and on for almost a week! But it's all good. We really needed the rain. I did get around to clearing more out of my stamp room. My parents are coming this week and my mom and I need somewhere to stamp!! The Junior College World Series started this weekend and we went to a game last night. I think we are going to go to one here in a bit so I better hurry along!!

While blurfing this morning I came across a card that used a layout similar to this one. So I combined it with Kristina's color challenge. I am so excited about being able to play along with more challenges now that school's out! Her color picks were to use Whisper White, Pacific Point, Basic Black, Summer Sun and Real Red. Talk about bright! This is way out of my comfort zone but it was fun to try! I think it came out pretty good! Well, thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Sense of Time

Good Friday morning! I forgot to post yesterday. Oops!! I had this card ready but I just never got around to it. So much happened so quickly. What a great day it was!! Kids got there. We went over some awards that they would be getting. We cleaned various items in the room. I popped a movie in for those that needed something to do. We watched the little kindergartners graduate (too cute). We ate lunch and went outside to play until the awards ceremony! After the awards my son and I had haircuts scheduled so we left. I got my hair chopped quite a bit. Ready for summer! And Nick finally earned his motorcycle! We are so proud of him for working so hard this year! So, Pat and I took him out looking. The first place we stopped was at the Kawasaki dealer. He made us a "killer" deal on a brand new '08 model and we jumped on it! So, first thing this morning he is up and riding around! We have our school picnic in a while but until then he rides!!

So, for today's card I borrowed my friend, Becky's, stamp set, Sense of Time. I found an old splitcoast sketch and thought it worked will with this set. The hardest part was getting the panels to line up straight! Super simple! Have a super safe weekend! Jucco world series starts this weekend! Yea!!!

Sweet Slumber

Good day everyone! Well, it is our last full day of school here! Yippee!!! We are going to have game day and root beer floats this afternoon. Tomorrow will be a final clean out of desks and books and odds and ends. Then lunch and awards. I have been waiting for this day for so long that I really can't believe it is finally here. Everyone is really excited!

Today's card is from an old sketch that I had. Super simple once again. Enjoy!

Learn, Live, Hope

Good morning everyone! I hope that your week is off to a super start. We are counting down the days left around here. It is really hard to keep these guys busy until the last day. We had to have our grades done yesterday so now it's almost like babysitting. They are busy now and I think we will watch a movie in a while. They will have p.e. this afternoon so that will take up some time, too. I have started taking things off the wall because they are going to paint my room this summer. So, it is starting to look a little bare!

While I was at Becky's house on Sunday I got to play with her new stamp set, Sense of Time. It is in the Occasions mini catalog. I didn't order it but thought that it was a super nice set. So, I made a couple of cards with it. I found a sketch that I though would fit it and here is the result! Thanks for stopping by!

No Dimensionals?

Hello everyone! I am glad that I got to post today. Our class went on a field trip and we were gone most of the day. The city of Grand Junction puts on a Water Festival for all fifth graders. We go and learn about water (conserving, keeping it clean, etc) and, of course, the kiddos get wet! They LOVE that part!! With the temperatures being in the 90's it did feel nice to get a little wet, too! So, here I am finally posting.

I also wanted to let you know that my son's soccer team won the championship for the tournament! They went undefeated for the tournament!! They played beautifully!! It was so fun to watch! Anyway, sorry for the detour.

On to the card... I found this sketch and I really like it. I think that I could have done a little more to the card but I kept it simple and even thought that it could be more 'manly'. Super simple. And I was quite surprised to realize that I didn't even use one dimensional! How crazy is that!! Anyway, I hope that you are inspired! Stay cool!! Only 2 1/2 days to go!!!

Dear Ol' Dad

Good Sunday morning!! Didn't get to sleep in much. We are headed back to the soccer fields. We want to watch the other academy team and see how they do. We won both our games yesterday!!! Yea!!! We have one more game this morning and then, depending on how we do (compared to the other teams), we will be playing in the championship this afternoon. So, another busy day! I want to thank my friend Becky! She lets us use her driveway to park our car so we don't have to hike as far to the soccer field. Isn't it cool that her backyard is the city park! Thank you Becky!!!

Today's card is one of my favorites! I got this layout from the Clean & Simple blog. I just love how it turned out! I haven't used my Holiday Blitz stamp set much because I can't figure out what to do with all those little stamps but this card lends itself to stamps like that. So pull out all your little stamps and stamp a card today! Thanks for stopping by!

Sweet Sunday Sketch #17

Good morning friends! Have to make this quick. Got baseball pictures then a game then two soccer tournament games! Yikes! Another busy day! But guess what??? Only 3 1/2 more days of school!!! I hope that you are having a great start to your weekend! The weather will be close to summer like this weekend. I had better remember the sunscreen!

Today's card is a Sweet Sunday sketch. Looks like I am too late to post to it but I played along anyway and here is my version. Not too much to explain. Have a great weekend!

Friend to Flower

Good Friday morning! Ahhhh! It's finally Friday! I am looking forward to my massage this afternoon and some 'play' time with friends this evening. Tomorrow will be another busy sports day with pictures bright and early then a baseball game (I hope we play better than last night) then two soccer tournament games! Should be a fun day!!

Today's card is an older splitcoast sketch. My upline sent me a container of these flower brads. I am so glad she did!! Thank you, Jan!! I never did order these and one of the cards she sent me had this idea. I wasn't sure what stamps were used but I modified it for what I had on hand. Super easy card! Thanks for stopping by and have a great Friday!

Pink Daisies

Good morning everyone! I hope your week is going the way you want. We are pulling through, here! I have four more tests that I need to give between today and tomorrow then I will be done with grading!! I also need to finish grading some research papers. So, we are getting it done! I just hope that I can keep their attention for two more days!!

Today's card is one that I got from Dawn McVey. She posted a card that had the same layout as this one. I also used her color choices for her Raspberry Suite Challenge. I was too late to post to her challenge but I wanted to play along anyway. I really like how the Regal Rose and the Pretty In Pink compliment each other. And then the Basic Grey helps it 'pop'. Pretty simple layout! Thanks for stopping by!

Color Challenge #51

Good morning all! It's Wednesday! That means it's downhill to Friday. Yea!! I need to remind myself to not wish away the week. I need to enjoy each day as it comes. It all goes too fast anyway. I can't believe how fast the year has gone.

Today's card is one I did for Kristina's color challenge. It is too late to post it for her challenge but I still have fun playing along! The colors were More Mustard, Rose Red, Chocolate Chip and Whisper White. Another easy card! Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Heavyweight Card

Good morning everyone! I hope your week is off to a great start! I thought I would put up a quick post before the day really got started for me.

This is a card layout that I had seen from Kristina Werner. Of course I had to change it up a bit to be able to use what I had on hand. A super simple card! I called it a heavyweight card because of the large brads. I got these brads when they first came out so I was glad to find a use for them. But taking a picture was a little difficult! The card kept wanting to fall over on me. You couldn't mail this card without major postage due!! But it was still fun to make anyway! Thanks for stopping by!

Star Birthday

Good Monday morning everyone! Only one more Monday of school! I can't believe that this is the last week of grades for me! I still have a lot to do!! We will push through this week. But everyone is really anticipating the last day.

Today's card is a super easy one! I love these kind!! I just wish that I had stamped my greeting a little more straight. Oh well. I had seen a card similar to this and sketched out the idea. I had forgotten about it till recently when I had some time to play. I used the big shot and the star #2 die. Not much else to it! Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Hey Mom!!

Happy Mother's Day! Hi Mom!! How do you like your card? You would think that with all these cards that I make, I would actually send some of these out. Shame on me!!! I do use them, but mainly for those that I need on the spot. I am a terrible 'mailer-outer'. Anyway, this card is dedicated to all those fabulous women who are moms, grandmas, great-grandmas, aunts, sisters, and those who mother all of our children. Thank you!!

This card evolved from s Splitcoast sketch. The sketch is an old one. It was fairly simple. Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Great Friend

Good morning everyone! What a beautiful Saturday morning it is here in Western Colorado! We have two soccer games today. This is the last day for the soccer season. Then next Saturday and Sunday is the tournament. Then we will just have to wait and see if Nick makes the cut to the new academy team. He has a lot of great competition!

Today's card is one that I had sketched out from somewhere. It does look different than I had originally sketched but I really like the way it turned out. I inked up the whole greeting in Kiwi Kiss but then used the Basic Black marker to ink up the 'friend' part of the greeting before stamping. The butterfly in this set does not come with antenna. I had seen the idea of giving the butterfly antenna using the stem of the leaf from this set. So, I cut out two stems from the leaf and glued them to the back of the butterfly and you get antenna!! I thought it was pretty clever! However, if you are not inclined to want to cut out that tiny leaf stem, the butterfly looks just fabulous without antenna! I hope you are all inspired today! Have a great weekend!

Thinking of You

Good Friday morning!!! It's finally Friday!! I hope that we can get some learning in today. We have a few interruptions today so I will have to rearrange my schedule but I still hope to accomplish everything. By the way... Remember me talking about the track meet that our school participated in last week? Well, our kids did so well that our school took SECOND place for the meet!!!! This is the first time our school has ever placed! I was so excited to hear that!

Anyway, on to the card. I had this sketch in my sketch pad for a while but every card I made with it just didn't set right with me. Until this one. I wanted something more spring-like and I think this fits the bill. I really like how it turned out. Thanks for stopping by and have a great Friday!!!

Hello everyone! I just want to make sure that I take a time out and thank everyone for your wonderful comments! It has been a rough few weeks for me and I am so thankful for your nice comments! This blog and all these cards help me stay positive! Thank you all, you are the best!!

Today's card was inspired by the recent cards magazine. It turned out nothing like the card I was looking at but it still inspired me. I really liked the way this one turned out. I used the top note die. Very simple!! Enjoy and thanks for stopping by!

Fabulous Friend

Good morning! It's Wednesday and that means we are getting closer to the weekend! My body is needing some rest. Today, at school, I get to play 'parent' and go with my son on his field trip! I am so excited! We are only going to be gone a few hours so I still have to be at school but I am looking forward to being with my son.

For today's card I had seen someone do this idea using the designer paper for the image. I really liked how it turned out and it is so easy!! I also got a chance to use my new set Oval All. Fun set! It is designed to be used with our oval punches and the new scallop oval punch. I stamped it twice in Not Quite Navy. Then I used a blender pen and colored in the flower. I punched one out and then cut the flower out of the second one putting a brad in the center. Then I popped it up. Enjoy!!

Soft Summer

Good morning everyone! I hope that you are ready for a great day! Not much has happened yet so I will get right to the card.

This card evolved from a sketch that I found. I was really baffled by the sketch when I first saw it but then this idea came to me. My friend, Becky, let me borrow her Soft Summer stamp set. This is one that I thought about getting but just haven't yet. I hope that you all are inspired! Thanks for stopping by!

Live Once

Hello everyone! I hope that you are having a fabulous start to your week. Mine could have been better but there is always tomorrow! We have another baseball game tonight and it looks like it could storm. Hopefully it will hold off until later.

Today's card is a sketch that I found. I wish I could remember where. My notes are at home and I am still at work. If I find it I will let you know. I loved how it turned out! Very simple!! I seem to be into these very simple cards lately. I had a question about setting the grommets. Here's what I do: I use my 'squishy' mat from my Crafter's Tool Kit and lay my paper on top of that. Then I take the grommet (large or small) and push it through the paper into the mat. Then I turn my paper over and use my bone folder to push the prongs toward the center of the grommet being careful not to push them too far in (so they don't poke back through to the other side). I hope that made sense. I am very tired right now. Anyway, let me know if you have any other questions. I think these grommets are one of my new favorite embellishments! Thanks for stopping by!

Masculine Birthday

Good Sunday morning to you all! Remember yesterday when I said that I thought the weather would hold out for us? Well, it didn't! Yuck!! The baseball game was great. Nice and cool but not too cold. We did pretty good, too! Then it started to sprinkle and I rushed home to get the umbrellas. Good thing I did because it just poured at the soccer game! Those poor boys! They were just soaked by the time it was all done! They played well and won! I can't believe that the soccer season is almost over. Just a double header next Saturday and then the tournament. Which means school is almost over too!! Yea!!

Making masculine cards seems to be hard for me. I don't really have any that are just for men so I have to really think about the sets and colors I use to make a card more manly. Then I thought that these basic jumbo grommets are just the thing to make a card more manly! I really liked how this turned out and so I decided to use it for my swap for this month. Thanks for taking a look!

Oval All

Good morning all! We are heading out the door for another baseball game and then a soccer game! Busy!! But it is so much fun to watch!! I think the weather will hold out for us. The wind didn't blow too bad last night and I think the rain will hold off until this evening. We do need the rain. Anyway, it's nice and cool and looking good!

This is a layout that I saw while blurfing over the weekend. The one I sketched out was a lot different than this one but I guess that's good! I liked how this one came out. I hope you are inspired as well!

The Other Thank You Card

Good evening everyone! I am about to head out for a baseball game. It's supposed to be windy. Oh joy! Seems like the last few games I have been eating dirt. I really don't like the wind! But it will be fun to watch some baseball. We had day two of our school's track meet. The kiddos did pretty good! They were fun to watch!

Here is the other thank you card for our secretaries at school. It evolved from a sketch that I had on my sketch pad. I also wanted to used these small grommets that I got from the Occasions mini catalog. They are a new product. I am having a lot of fun with these new embellishments! I also have the jumbo grommets. Anyway, fun and simple! Thanks for stopping by!
