CCMC Saturday Blog Hop: Watermelon Wonder

Hello everyone! Welcome to another Saturday blog hop! Today, the Create with Connie and Mary designers are featuring projects using Watermelon Wonder as the primary focus! I am your stop after the fabulous Debbie Henderson!

This week I made a treat bag using the Mini Treat Bag thinlits! And as you can see, my main color for this is Watermelon Wonder! This is very simple but so fun and bright and happy! The greeting is from the Cottage Greetings stamp set. I also used this stamp set to make a set of four cards for the Create with Connie and Mary mini edition! Did you see them?

  • The bag is made from two sheets of the Cherry on Top designer paper and the Mini Treat Bag thinlits
  • Score and adhere the two pieces together
  • Tie a piece of Watermelon Wonder dotted lace trim around the bag
  • Stamp the greeting from the Cottage Greetings stamp set using Momento ink
  • Punch a flower from Crushed Curry using the itty bitty accents punch pack and adhere to bag
  • Add a rhinestone to flower center
A very simple bag! Now I send you on to see what the awesome Connie Babbert has created for you! Don't forget to visit the Create with Connie and Mary site to find out how you can subscribe to the mini edition! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Cherry Cottage

Good morning everyone! It seems that I need to change the batteries in a certain smoke alarm. Yesterday morning it started but then ended after about an hour or so. I thought maybe it was a bug that had gotten in there. But then this morning it started again so I will be changing the batteries. I have to keep reminding myself that I have teacher training today. It just doesn't seem possible!! Back to work I go!

Today's card was inspired by one I saw in the catalog. I wish I had made the panel just a wee bit skinnier.

  • Card base is Soft Sky
  • Round the top left hand corner of a piece of Whisper White using the Project Life corner rounder
  • Adhere a strip of Cherry on Top washi tape
  • Flag both ends of a strip of Cherry on Top designer paper and adhere to panel
  • Stamp the greeting from Cottage Greetings onto the panel using Momento ink
  • Stamp the flower image using Momento ink and color in with Watermelon Wonder and Cucumber Crush markers
  • Add a silver mini brad to flower center
  • Tie a piece of white baker's twine around the panel
  • Adhere panel to card with dimensionals
Super simple! Are you subscribed to the Create with Connie and Mary Mini Edition? I used the Cottage Greetings stamp set to create a set of four cards that can only be seen in this edition! The edition started Sunday but you are able to view it for a whole year! Be sure to sign up and see what the designers created just for this edition! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Hello everyone! It's time for another Saturday blog hop with the Create with Connie and Mary designers! This week we are featuring the Color Me Irresistible designer paper or the emboss resist technique! I am your stop after the fabulous Debbie Henderson!

I was late to the party and failed to get my Color Me Irresistible designer paper ordered on time. So I went with the emboss resist technique. It was super fun and easy to do! I found a great color combination and went to work:

  • Card base is Whisper White
  • On a slightly smaller piece of Whisper White adhere a piece Everyday Chic washi tape along the top of the panel
  • On another smaller piece of Whisper White stamp the dots image from the Dotty Angles stamp set at the top of the panel using VersaMark ink
  • Emboss the dots using clear emboss powder
  • Sponge color onto the panel starting with Wisteria Wonder and then Soft Sky inks and a sponge
  • Stamp the greeting from Happy Birthday, Everyone stamp set using Momento ink
  • Adhere panel to the washi tape panel
  • Tie a piece of Calypso Coral thick baker's twine around the panel and tie a bow then adhere panel to card base with dimensionals
  • Punch a flower from Calypso Coral card stock using the itty bitty accents punch pack and adhere to card
  • Add a rhinestone to flower center
  • Add a few clear sequins from the metallic sequin assortment
Super simple! I can't wait to get my Color Me Irresistible designer paper and experiment with that! I hope you get a chance to play with this paper and/or technique! But first be sure to hop on over to see what the fabulous Connie Babbert has created! Thanks for stopping by!

    To a Good Friend

Hello everyone! I can't believe that we are starting a new week again! We had a great weekend at Keystone watching Nick race! What a fun atmosphere and the weather was awesome! I even hiked a few places to see him come down the mountain. It was hard hiking as it was VERY steep but worth it to get a few great action shots! Sunday I decided that I didn't need to hike - lol! My legs are still feeling it! He finished 15th again which is just excellent! He loves it!

Today's card was one that I did for the shoebox club that I am in. It is super easy and I thought the colors were refreshing!

    • Card base is Crumb Cake
    • On a piece of Whisper White stamp the big greeting from Happy Birthday, Everyone stamp set using Bermuda Bay ink
    • Adhere a piece of Cherry on Top washi tape along the bottom of the stamped panel then adhere to a piece of Pool Party
    • Tie a piece of Calypso Coral thick baker's twine around the panel and adhere to card base using dimensionals
    • Stamp the second part of the greeting to the card base using Crumb Cake ink
Super simple! And guess what??? I got a notice that I am this week's featured stamped at Splitcoast Stampers!! I am so excited about that! What an honor! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

    Pink Blossoms

Good morning, Friends! What a fast week this seems to be! I am so excited that I get my hair cut today! But I have a lot to do before I leave again tomorrow morning. I hope I can get my act together and stay organized. I also need to get packed and then there is shoebox this evening. So I need to get a project together. And the laundry needs to get done... But first coffee!!

Today's card was an experiment with coloring and a new color combination!

    • Card base is Whisper White
    • On a slightly smaller piece of Whisper White, stamp the greeting from Birthday Blossoms using black StazOn ink and color the banner part with a Pink Pirouette marker
    • Stamp the blossoms image around the card using Pink Pirouette ink
    • Tie a piece of Cucumber Crush dotted lace trim around the panel and adhere to card base with dimensionals
    • Stamp the flower image and the leaves image onto a piece of Whisper White and color in using Cucumber Crush, Rich Razzleberry and Tip Top Taupe inks and an aqua painter - Note: I used alcohol in my aqua painter instead of water (that was the experimental part)
    • Use the Pansy punch to punch the flower out and cut the leaves out
    • Adhere leaves to back of flower and adhere flower to card with dimensionals
    • Add rhinestones to card and flower center
The alcohol in the aqua painter worked great! I think I will be doing that more often! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

They had a lot of fun with that. And I got to sit in the air conditioned truck waiting for them! Then we came home and cooled off and had pizza for dinner! A very nice day! Now I need to figure out what I have to get done the next few days and get to work!

Hello everyone! It's time once again for a very fun and inspiring blog hop from the Create with Connie and Mary designers! This week we are featuring the Joy Fold card! I'm sure that you will find many creative ideas using this special fold! I am your stop after the very creative Debbie Henderson!

Today is Connie's birthday so be sure to stop by her blog and say 'happy birthday'! To honor her birthday, I decided to use the new Birthday Blossoms stamp set! I paired it with some other fun new products and came up with this!

And here it is slightly opened. I made my fold go up and down instead of side to side. The front flap is held closed by tucking the corner behind the flower.

    • Card base is Very Vanilla cut at 7 1/2" 5 1/2" and scored at 4 1/4"
    • Adhere a piece of Timeless Elegance designer paper to the inside back that measures 5 3/8" x 4 1/8"
    • Adhere a piece of Timeless Elegance designer paper to the front outside flap that measures 2 7/8" x 5 3/8"
    • Punch a scallop circle from Basic Black using the 2 3/8" scallop circle punch and adhere to front of card
    • Create the inside card and front flap by cutting a piece of Basic Black that measures 5 1/2" x 4 1/4" and score at 2 3/4" then adhere to the inside of card
    • Adhere a piece of Very Vanilla to the inside Basic Black card that measures 2 5/8" x 4 1/8"
    • Cut a piece of Very Vanilla that measures 4 1/8" x 2 5/8"
    • Stamp the greeting from Birthday Blossoms stamp set onto the Very Vanilla panel using Tuxedo black Momento ink then stamp the cluster of blossoms using Sahara Sand
    • Tie a piece of Basic Black stitched satin ribbon around the panel and adhere to the front of the Basic Black flap
    • Stamp the flower and leaf images onto a piece of Very Vanilla using Tuxedo black Momento ink and color in using a blender pen and Hello Honey, Sahara Sand and Wild Wasabi inks then cut out by hand
    • Use the Pansy punch to punch a flower from Hello Honey card stock
    • Adhere the leaves behind the stamped flower then adhere stamped images to the punched flower with glue dots just in the center
    • Adhere flower to scallop circle using double thickness of dimensionals (make sure that the dimensionals are just on the bottom petals so that your card flap can tuck behind it)
    • Add a pearl to flower center
Now it's time to send you on to the birthday girl, Connie Babbert! Thanks for stopping by and have a fabulous day!

There is SO much you can do with vellum! I love it! I recently came across an idea using vellum to make a shaker card! How clever is that!! I made a pocket using two pieces of vellum and they are held together with washi tape! I used some new products and colors to create this card!

    • Card base is Whisper White

    • Adhere the shaker/pocket to the card with dimensionals
    • Stamp the candle images onto Whisper White card stock using Bermuda Bay, Watermelon Wonder and Cucumber Crush inks and cut out

CCMC Saturday Blog Hop: Decorative Masks

Hello everyone! It's time for another blog hop from the Create with Connie and Mary design team! This week we are featuring designs that were created using the Decorative Masks or inked embossing folders. I am your stop right after the fabulous Debbie Henderson!

I got these decorative masks a while ago but haven't ever really used them. So this hop was the perfect time to pull them out and create! And can I just say that these are so much FUN!! Why didn't I use them sooner? Anyway, I kept this design pretty simple to show off the masking technique.

    • Card base is Hello Honey
    • Use the stars mask from the Hearts and Stars pack to create the background using a sponge dauber and Hello Honey ink
    • Create a long banner from Lost Lagoon card stock and adhere to the card base
    • Stamp the image from the Perfect Pennants stamp set onto a piece of Soft Sky card stock using Lost Lagoon ink and cut out using the Banners framelits
    • Tie a piece of white baker's twine around the banner and adhere to card with dimensionals
    • Stamp the image again onto a piece of Whisper White card stock using Watermelon Wonder ink and cut out the middle part then adhere to banner using dimensionals
That's it! Time to send you on to see what the fabulous Connie Babbert has created for you! Thanks so much for stopping by and have a super weekend!

    Bright Balloon Bash

Hello everyone! I hope your week is going super! I keep thinking - will this week ever end? Ugh! I also keep thinking - will this month ever end? It just seems to be dragging. We are supposed to head to Denver tomorrow because the soccer team has two games over there this weekend. But Nick has been sick with allergies and I am not sure we will make it. It wouldn't bother me to stay home - lol! We will see...

Control Freaks Blog Tour: Time to Celebrate

Hello everyone! Welcome to the Control Freaks Blog Tour! We are so excited to inspire you with our ideas with the theme of Celebrations! I am your stop after the talented Patty Bennett! Please note that if you are viewing this before the 20th, all the links may not be working. Be sure to stop by again on the 20th when everything should be in working order! Now on to my projects...

For my first project I used the Cheerful Critters stamp set. I just think these little guys are the cutest! And you can put any small sentiment inside the signs! I love it! I thought that this little guy would be great for a young boy's birthday or achievement! I used the Sweet Sunday Sketch to help me with the layout.

    • Card base is Whisper white
    • Run a piece of Lost Lagoon card stock through the Big Shot using the Lucky Stars embossing folder and adhere to card
    • On a piece of Whisper White stamp the image from Cheerful Critters using Tuxedo black Momento ink and stamp the sentiment inside the sign
    • Color the bear using Crumb Cake and a blender pen and his shirt using Lost Lagoon and Pear Pizzazz markers
    • Cut a strip of Pear Pizzazz card stock and use the fringe scissors to fringe the end then adhere to the stamped panel
    • Tie a piece of linen thread around the panel and then tie a button gold basic metal button on
    • Adhere the panel to the card with dimensionals
For my next card I went a little more sophisticated. I love sunflowers. So I wanted to try to recreate a sunflower since I don't have any sunflower stamps. I found an idea where someone had layered the stamps from the Petal Potpourri stamp set and a light bulb went off (trust me, it doesn't happen often - lol)! I love how this turned out!

    • Card base is Crumb Cake
    • On another piece of Crumb Cake stamp the sentiment from Because You Care stamp set using Early Espresso ink
    • Adhere the panel to a piece of Early Espresso card stock and then adhere to the card base using dimensionals
    • Stamp the butterflies stamp from the Perpetual Calendar stamp set onto the card base using Crumb Cake ink
    • Stamp the solid flower image from the Petal Potpourri stamp set onto a piece of Whisper White card stock using So Saffron ink then stamp the lined image right over the top using Hello Honey ink (note: it is most helpful to use a Stamp-a-ma-jig)
    • Punch the flower out using the Flower Medallion punch
    • Stamp the flower center onto a piece of Whisper White using Early Espresso ink and punch out with the 7/8" scallop circle punch then adhere to flower with dimensionals
    • Cut the leaves from Mossy Meadow card stock using the Flower Fair framelits and adhere to the back of the flower
    • Adhere flower to the card
    • Thread a piece of linen thread through a gold basic metal button and tie a bow then adhere to flower center
I hope you have gained some inspiration! I now send you on to the fabulous Wendy Weixler to see her beautiful creations! Thank you so much for stopping by and have a super day!

    Guy Birthday Greeting

Hello everyone! SO glad it's Thursday but I will be even happier when it's finally FRIDAY! Lol!! It has been a really long week for some reason! But time is counting down and I am trying to take it one day at a time! Are you all ready for the weekend, too? I had to dig out my heavy winter coat yesterday. Ugh! It was so windy and so cold! Yuck! It's not much warmer right now but at least the wind isn't blowing!

Today's card is another we did at stamp club this month. It was inspired by the sketch at Freshly Made.

    • Card base is Crumb Cake
    • On another piece of Crumb Cake stamp the Dictionary background stamp using Crumb Cake ink and then sponge the edges using Crumb Cake ink
    • Stamp the splotches from Gorgeous Grunge using Tuxedo black Momento ink and the greeting from Guy Greetings using the same ink
    • Adhere the panel to the card base
    • Punch a strip of Basic Black using the Spiral border punch
    • Adhere a strip of Stacked with Love washi tape to the strip
    • Wrap a piece of linen thread around the strip three times and tie a knot then adhere to card
    • Stamp the car from Guy Greetings onto a piece of Crumb Cake using Tuxedo black Momento ink and punch out using the 2 1/2" circle punch then sponge the edges of the circle using Crumb Cake ink
    • Adhere to card with dimensionals
I really like the way this one turned out! And it was the first time that I had used this fabulous set! I just want to remind you all about the Create with Connie and Mary Cards "Create"tions Celebration edition going on right now! We are well into week 2 and it is so much fun!
