Good morning everyone! Everyone is back from convention and so Connie and Mary are moving on to another challenge this week! This week Create with Connie and Mary are challenging us with a color challenge! Take a look at these beautiful colors!
The challenge colors are Regal Rose, Marina Mist, and Sahara Sand. I do have to confess that Regal Rose is one of my least favorite colors. I have so much trouble putting it with other colors. It can be so bright and "in-your-face". But these colors are so pretty! So here is what I came up with!
This idea and layout comes from the new catalog! It's on page 112. I love the way the card used the Build a Blossom stamp set and the coordinating Blossom Petals builder punch. Although, the center of each petal is cut by hand. I started with a card base of textured Sahara Sand card stock, then a piece of Sahara Sand designer paper, then a piece of Marina Mist card stock. To make my flower, I stamped the petals on Whisper White card stock in Regal Rose ink (stamping off first) and then punched them out using the Blossom Petals builder punch. I glued these to a 1/2" circle to make it easier to keep them together. Then I stamped the petal centers on Whisper White card stock using Regal Rose ink. I cut these out and used glue dots to glue them to the petals. Then I put an antique brad in the center. The flower is popped up on the card. The last thing I did was to stamp the greeting in Sahara Sand on Whisper White card stock and pop it up on the card, too. Done! I really like the way this one turned out!
I do hope that you will go over to Create with Connie and Mary and see what the other fabulous designers came up with. Then I hope that you will find some time this week and make a project using these colors. I always love to see what you come up with! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

April Shoebox Card
Hello Friends! I am pre-posting this as we will be heading out of town in a few hours and won't be back until Saturday night. We are going to watch the Colorado Rapids play in Denver and then Nick has a soccer game in Colorado Springs on Saturday. Whew! This has been our routine, lately. But we are loving it! I do hope that Nick will start feeling better. He had allergies hit him hard earlier this week and then and mild asthma attack Wednesday night. He is on his meds now and I think he is ready to get out and play but I am not sure his lungs are ready. He is NOT one to sit still. So we will see how he feels tomorrow.
The card for today is one that I did with the ladies in my shoebox swap group. The layout is not really anything new but I love the look and it really is so versatile! When I am in a creative block I will come back to this layout. I used the greeting from the hostess level 3 Occasional Greetings set. And I used "Birthday Wishes" because we celebrated three birthdays this month in our shoebox group (and we are only a group of six)! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!
Card Recipe: Stamps- Build a Blossom, Occasional Greetings; Paper- Baja Breeze, Poppy Parade, So Saffron; Ink- Poppy Parade, So Saffron; Accessories- Poppy Parade ribbon, white baker's twine, gold brad, scallop edge border punch, corner rounder, 1/2" circle punch, blossoms punch, dimensionals
