Happy Friday everyone! It is once again time for another great sketch challenge from the team at Sketch Frenzy Friday! This week's sketch was created by Tammy Fite! Take a look at this fabulous sketch:
And here is what I came up with! Take a look:
I really like how this one turned out! I don't do many square cards but they sure are fun! And it's fun to get out of the box! I just love the colors in the designer paper Just Add Cake, so that is where I got my color inspiration. I started with a card base of Blushing Bride (4 1/4" x 8 1/2" and scored at 4 1/4" to make a square card). To the card base, I added Early Espresso and a piece of Just Add Cake designer paper. I then cut a smaller piece of Early Espresso. To that I added a piece of Baja Breeze that was cut with the scallop squares duo die. I stamped the greeting from Friendly Phrases in Early Espresso in the bottom right hand corner and added three brads. This panel was popped up on the card. Then I took a piece of Whisper White card stock and a variety of markers (Poppy Parade, Wild Wasabi, So Saffron, Baja Breeze, Peach Parfait, and Blushing Bride) and stamped the Hello Blossoms stamp. Then I took a strip of Wild Wasabi and die cut a strip from the Tasteful Trim die to glue to the edge of the Whisper White piece and then popped it up on the Baja Breeze panel. Then I stamped the Hello Blossoms on a scrap of Whisper White in Early Espresso and punched out the letters with the 1/4" circle punch and glue dotted them inside the of the flowers. There you have it!
Now it's time for you to move on through the tour of inspiration! Click 'here' to see what wonderful creation Jennifer has come up with. Good morning, Friends! I hope you had the most wonderful weekend! I can't believe that we are into the first week of May!! Mostly because we have had freeze warnings for the past two mornings and could have another tomorrow morning as well. Yikes! The poor fruit growers around here are kept very busy during these nights. I do hope we will have some good fruit this summer. We had a very busy and productive weekend! Nick's soccer game got cancelled on Saturday. We were really bummed about that but we did some serious cleaning in his bedroom and game room areas and purchased some new furniture pieces that we have been needing to get. Like a real bed for his room! He was so excited about that! My husband also did some landscaping to our yard. And, while we are not finished with everything, we made some real progress! So I have been a real slacker in the stamping department. I did manage to do some cards last week. I do hope to find some more time this week and see if I can get my mojo back.
Today's card was inspired by a sketch from Karen Giron. It is from a few weeks ago so I didn't post it to her site but I still liked the simple sketch. I really liked this little stamp from the new Summer mini catalog and thought it would work great for this sketch. It is pretty simple! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!
