Hello everyone! Today's card was inspired by an older sketch at Retro Sketches.

• Card base is Crumb Cake
• Use the itty bitty accents punch pack to punch hearts from Pink Pirouette, Blushing Bride and Pool Party card stocks then use the Word Bubbles framelits to cut the shape
• Adhere the shapes to the card base with dimensionals
• Stamp the greeting from Four You using Old Olive ink onto the card base
• Add rhinestones to the each heart cut out

Super simple! Have a super day!

Good morning, Friends! I think I could have slept another few hours! Bring on the coffee! I hope I can wake up this morning and get some things done around here! The last few days haven't been productive ones for me. Although, I did manage to finish my quilted Christmas stockings! Those turned out really cute! I love them!! I am looking forward to displaying them at Christmas! Right now I am in need of some creative mojo! Maybe today??

Today's card was inspired by the sketch at Retro Sketches. Such a fun layout! I decided to pair up my forest animals with the word bubbles again.

• Card base is Whisper White
• Adhere a strip of Early Espresso that has been flagged at the bottom
• On a piece of Whisper White, stamp the trees image from Life in the Forest in black StazOn and color them with Old Olive and Early Espresso markers
• Take a strip of Old Olive card stock and use the fringe scissors to cut the grass then adhere strip onto stamped panel
• Tie a piece of Early Espresso 1/8" taffeta ribbon around the bottom of the grass and adhere panel to card with dimensionals
• Stamp the fox image in black StazOn onto a piece of Whisper White and color with Tangerine Tango marker then cut out
• Adhere the fox to the card with dimensionals
• Stamp the greeting from Just Sayin' in black StazOn onto a piece of Whisper White and cut out using the Word Bubbles framelits then adhere to card with dimensionals

Good morning, Friends! I hope your read for a great weekend! I am off today to see my friend Sherry on the Eastern Slope for the weekend! Woohoo! Lots of sewing going on this weekend! And I just had two full days of it! So I should be getting a lot done, right? Ha!! Actually, I have been! I got a lot done on a new project. I still have quite a few unfinished ones. So we will see just how much I do get done - lol! Then on Monday I am going to attend the catalog premier in Denver! I am so excited to get to see the new Stampin' Up! catalog! Don't worry! You all will get to see it soon, too!

Today's card was inspired by the sketch at Retro Sketches. I thought my card was almost too simple but I really kind of like it this way. With the soft colors it really is just a soft and simple card! The Tulip frame embossing folder will be retiring. I haven't used it much lately but I do like the way that little bit of embossing. 

• Card base is Pool Party
• Take another piece of Pool Party and run it through the Big Shot with the Tulip Frame embossing folder and cut around the outside of the frame then adhere to card
• Adhere a piece of Pink Pirouette card stock
• Stamp the leaf image from Peaceful Petals in Crumb Cake onto a piece of Crumb Cake card stock several times
• Stamp the greeting in black StazOn
• Sponge the edges using Crumb Cake ink then adhere stamped panel to card with dimensionals
• Flag the end of a strip of Pool Party and adhere to Crumb Cake piece
• Tie a piece of linen thread through a Very Vintage designer button and adhere to card

Retro 100 and Dynamic Duos 88

Good morning, Friends! Well we had quite the active day yesterday! Nick had a soccer scrimmage in the morning and then we came home to get ready for his basketball game that afternoon. What an exciting game! We tied the undefeated team and then lost in overtime. Bummer! But it was fun and exciting!! Then we came home again for a few minutes and then went to see the last home games for the CMU basketball teams (ladies and men). Both won! Really fun!! But very tiring! There were tons of people there and we didn't have anything to eat beforehand so we ended up eating late and getting to bed extra late. The sleeping in was really nice! And it looks to be an extra gorgeous day today! Nick and Pat are planning to mountain bike! I plan to work on my quilt and maybe do some stamping!

Today's card was inspired by two challenges. I made this one a few weeks ago so these are old challenges. I used the sketch from Retro Sketches and the colors from Dynamic Duos. A ver clean and simple card! 

• Card base is Whisper White
• Adhere three strips of Gingham Garden designer paper to the card base
• Stamp the sentiment from Perfect Pennants onto a piece of Whisper White using Island Indigo and Real Red markers and cut out using the Banners framelits dies
• Tie a piece of Real Red 1/8" taffeta ribbon around the banner and adhere to card with dimensionals
• Add three Real Red candy dots to the strips

Good morning, Friends! Looks like it will be a nice weekend around here! Nick has a soccer scrimmage this morning and then a basketball game this afternoon. Should be a fun day! And since I got the laundry done yesterday, I should be free to keep sewing on my quilt and get a few other things done! I can feel spring coming on!!

Today's card was inspired by the sketch at Retro Sketches. I really liked the layout and thought it would be very appropriate to use the Retro Fresh designer paper with the sketch! Because the lines on the designer paper were already at an angle, this really makes in look funky!! But I do like how it turned out!

• Card base is Tangerine Tango
• Cut a piece of Retro Fresh designer paper at an angle to fit onto the card base
• Adhere designer paper to a strip of Coastal Cabana and then adhere to card base
• Stamp the circle image from Geometrical onto the card base using Tangerine Tango ink
• Stamp the greeting onto a strip of Very Vanilla using Baked Brown Sugar ink and flag the end
• Adhere to card base with dimensionals
• Add two Tangerine Tango candy dots

I am so glad it's Friday! I am headed over the mountains to have a quilting weekend with my friend Sherry! I haven't sewn in quite a while so I am excited to have nothing else to do but sew! Woohoo! I am hoping to get a set of Christmas stockings done. Weird, I know, but if I get them done now they will be ready for Christmas next year - lol! And I am sure we will find a little time for some retail therapy!

Today's card was inspired by the sketch at Retro Sketches. A very simple card and I just love these little critters with the word bubbles!! Here are the details…

• Card base is Naturals White
• Layer of Naturals White with the top corners rounded with the 1" circle punch
• Layer a strip of Sweet Sorbet designer paper onto Naturals White then tie a piece of Basic Black 1/8" taffeta ribbon around it and adhere to card base with dimensionals
• Use the Apothecary Accents framelits to cut the shape from Naturals White and then trace around the same shape onto a piece of Basic Black and fussy cut that shape out for a mat
• Use the Essentials paper piercing pack to pierce inside the cut out shape and then stamp the image from Life in the Forest using black StazOn ink
• Color the image with Crumb Cake and Soft Suede markers
• Adhere Basic Black shape to card then adhere stamped shape to card with dimensionals
• Stamp greeting from Just Sayin' in black StazOn onto Naturals White and cut out with the Word Bubbles framelits and adhere to card with dimensionals

Good morning, Friends! It has just been crazy around here lately! Our family moved from our house in the country to a house in the small town of Fruita. And we pretty much did it ourselves! Not that we couldn't have help because we did have friends that wanted to help. But it just worked out that way and we are so happy to be where we are! Nick has already enjoyed being closer to his friends and now he can walk to school as it is practically right across the street! We are looking forward to cutting down on driving time and gas! My craft room is still in boxes but last night I got some things out to create.

I used the sketch from Retro Sketches to help me create this card. It's hard to believe that Christmas is just a few months away! This would be a great card to mass produce and it is very mailable! Here are the details:

• Card base is Baked Brown Sugar cut at 11" x 4 1/4" then folded in half
• Layer of Seasons of Style designer paper cut at 2" x 4 1/4" and adhere to card base
• Layer of Whisper White cut at 2 1/2" x 3 1/2"
• Stamp greeting from Wishing You on Whisper White in Chocolate Chip
• Cut a strip of Cherry Cobbler 1" x 3 1/2" and punch edge using the scallop edge border punch then adhere to back of Whisper White
• Punch two holes and insert mini brads then pop panel up onto card
• Stamp the image from Wishing You onto Whisper White using the Baked Brown Sugar, Cherry Cobbler and Old Olive markers then cut out and pop up onto card

Good morning, Stampers! What a wonderful weekend! But I just have a super hard time getting up for Monday! Ugh!! I read somewhere a funny quote that said, "I need another day between Saturday and Sunday". YES!! Wouldn't that be great - lol! Well, it finally cooled off around here yesterday! The days are getting shorter and now the weather is getting cooler... Won't be long! And it rained last night! Woohoo! We needed it so badly and we are supposed to get more! Thankfully I get a massage today! My lower back is killing me! I am looking forward to getting the kinks worked out!

Today's card was inspired by last week's Retro Sketches. This is actually the second card I made using that sketch. I am not quite in the mood for Christmas but I am working on a Christmas swap and a special Christmas card set for a design team so I was experimenting and playing to see what I could come up with. This happened to be an experiment. I love this very simple, clean lines, modern stamp set called Wishing You. Here are the details:

• Card base is Chocolate Chip
• Layer of Crumb Cake that was run through the Big Shot using the Stylish Stripes embossing folder
• On the layer adhere a piece of Seasons of Style designer paper
• Over the dsp adhere a piece of Season of Style washi tape
• Stamp the greeting from Wishing You in Chocolate Chip onto a strip of Whisper White and pop up onto layer
• Tie a piece of Cherry Cobbler baker's twine around layer and adhere to card base
• Stamp the packages image from Wishing You using the Baked Brown Sugar, Old Olive and Cherry Cobbler markers onto Whisper White, cut out and pop up onto card
• Add a rhinestone to the center of the bow on the middle package

Good morning, Friends! It was kind of hard getting back into the routine yesterday. I really enjoyed the days off as I know Nick did, too! We made it through and now we are already half way through the week! Sweet! I had to buy a new iron yesterday as mine broke. No, I don't use it for clothes - lol! I use it for my stitching and sewing! And boy oh boy do I need to update my sewing blog! Geesh! It's been a whole year! And I have stuff to share! What's my deal? I will try to work on that this week.

• Card base is Very Vanilla
• Layer a piece of Witch's Brew designer paper to a piece of Summer Starfruit to a piece of Basic Black
• Pop panel up onto card
• Adhere a piece of Witch's Brew washi tape
• On a strip of Very Vanilla, stamp greeting from Halloween Hello set then adhere to card
• On Very Vanilla, stamp the bat image three times and cut out
• The top bat is adhered with glue dots and the other two are popped up

Good morning, Friends! I hope your week is off to a fabulous start! We are just clicking along trying to stay cool! Looks like another scorcher today with no rain possible. Dang! Have to take Nick to a friend's house and then I am off to get a massage! Ahhh!! I need one so badly! My back and neck will get some much needed attention! Then maybe I will feel better! I wonder if I will feel like stamping this afternoon? :)

Today's card was inspired by the sketch at Retro Sketches. This one is actually from a few week's ago and that's when I had made my card. So at the time it was current - lol! But I still like the way it turned out and it's a great sketch! One I will be using again! Here are the card details:

• Card base is Crumb Cake
• Layer of Early Espresso with end punched using the scallop edge border punch
• Layer of Very Vanilla with top right corner rounded using the 1" circle punch
• Stamp branch from Morning Meadow using Crumb Cake and sentiment using Early Espresso onto Very Vanilla layer
• Add two mini brads to panel, tie some Pool Party seam binding ribbon around this and pop up onto card
• Stamp bird in Pool Party onto Very Vanilla, cut out and pop up onto card

Good morning, Friends! Wow! It has really been raining around here! I think it rained most of the night and it's still going strong! Woohoo!! We are so happy for that! I love the rain! I even got to hear thunder a couple of times yesterday! I'm just so glad it's not snow around here! I did see on the weather report that it would be snowing in the mountains. And that makes me happy when I don't have to travel over them - lol! Moisture! We really need it! I think the rain is inspiring me to stamp today! I hope to find my mojo again. 

Today's card was inspired by the sketch from Retro Sketches. I once again was drawn to use the Epic Day designer paper. So I took a piece of that and wrapped a piece of Crumb Cake taffeta ribbon around it. I tied a Daffodil Delight button to the ribbon using linen thread. This piece is adhered to a strip of Gumball Green that was punched with the scallop edge border punch. Then I popped this up onto a card base of Crumb Cake. Then I stamped the cupcake bottom from Create a Cupcake in Crumb Cake and the top in Calypso Coral onto Very Vanilla. I punched these out with the Cupcake builder punch and popped them up onto the card. I stamped the sentiment in Crumb Cake onto a strip of Very Vanilla and flagged both ends. This is adhered to the card. Finally I punched a flower from the Epic Day designer paper using the itty bitty shapes punch pack and added it to the cupcake with a pearl. Oh and everything got a sponge bath in Crumb Cake. :) Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!!

Good morning, Friends! It's another cold morning that I wanted to stay under the blankets! My husband informed me that it is warmer than yesterday at 0. Wow!! So many frozen pipes around the area. I am so thankful that everything seems to be working great around here! Need to get the laundry going so we can start packing. And it does happen to be my birthday but for me it is still Wednesday. I love my family and they will find a way to make it special :)

Today's card was inspired by the sketch at Retro Sketches. I loved that I could use some of my favorite papers from More Amore! I punched a strip of Basic Grey with the dotted ribbon scallop punch and adhered the papers to that then to a piece of Naturals Ivory. Below that I stamped the greeting from Teeny Tiny Wishes in Basic Grey. I tied a piece of Basic Grey stitched grosgrain around this and rounded the bottom right hand corner before popping it up onto a card base of Naturals Ivory. Then I cut a heart from Primrose Petals using the Hearts a Flutter framelits dies and sponged the edges with Primrose Petals. This is popped up onto the card and a pearl was added. Good morning everyone! Are you ready for a great weekend? It is supposed to be seriously cold this weekend but we plan on staying indoors by the fire for most of it - lol! Actually, today I will be taking a class on Crazy Quilting! I am so super excited about this! Something different. The class is supposed to go most of the afternoon but my friend and I are leaving early as the Broncos are playing this afternoon and, well, we do have priorities! Lol!! Seriously! The Broncos are a big thing around here and we just can't miss it!! That is another super exciting thing going on today! 

Today's card was inspired by the sketch from last week at Retro Sketches. I also used it for our shoebox club this month. Super simple and I do love how it turned out! First I adhered a piece of Primrose Petals to a card base of Very Vanilla. Then I took the Occasions Paper Piercing templates and pierced the heart. I adhered two strips of designer paper from the More Amore pack with the ends flagged and stamped the greeting from Teeny Tiny Wishes in Primrose Petals. I popped this panel up onto the card. Then I cut a heart using the Hearts a Flutter framelits dies and Primrose Petals card stock. This is popped up onto the card and a pearl was added. Thanks for stopping by and have a super day! Good morning, Friends! Another week has rolled around. And this is a week that a lot of parents have been waiting for - lol! School will be back in session tomorrow! Yea!! Nick is not that excited at all but I guess he will need to suck it up! I will be glad for the regular routine once again. And he will be starting basketball and soccer practices so that will be another plus. He has thoroughly enjoyed his break but I think even he is ready for the routine as well. 

Today's card was inspired by the sketch at Retro Sketches. This didn't come out like I had envisioned but I liked it. And it's super simple! I stamped the outline image from Oh, Hello in Crumb Cake onto a piece of Crumb Cake (I did stamp off once and that makes it a little hard to see in the photo). Then I rounded the corners and sponged the edges with Crumb Cake. I stamped the greeting in Early Espresso and adhered this panel to a card base of Crumb Cake. On the side, I adhered a strip of Print Poetry designer paper. Then I stamped the flower onto Very Vanilla using Raspberry Ripple and Gumball Green markers. I cut it out and popped it up onto the card. Finally, I threaded a bronze button with linen thread and tied it to a piece of Victoria crochet trim. This is adhered to the card with glue dots. Good morning, Friends! Another week seems to be flying by! Yesterday's basketball game was SO much fun! My husband and I are going to have a lot of fun watching Nick play his school sports! He was so nervous yesterday that he texted me before school was out to say his stomach hurt. I told him it was nerves but he wasn't sure. I did know that there was a bug going around so I wasn't so sure either. But the day ended, he told me he was fine, and he played great!! Actually, the team played great! The other team they faced had four boys that were taller than their teacher/coach!!! They were giants!! But that didn't freak out our boys! They shut those tall kids out and won their game 39-13! We all are so proud! Now he is exhausted but up and ready to go. Their next game is on Thursday. I can't wait!!

Today's card was one that I did a few weeks ago (most of these were done while my computer was in the shop). I thought this was a unique layout so I gave it a try. It is from Retro Sketches - simple and different. I adhered a piece of Orchard Harvest designer paper to a piece of Early Espresso and rounded the one corner with a 1" circle punch. Then I tied a piece of Raspberry Ripple stitched satin ribbon around it. To the back and bottom of this panel I adhered a strip of Raspberry Ripple scallops that was cut with the Tasteful Trim die. I stamped the greeting from Made for You in Raspberry Ripple on a piece of Very Vanilla and adhered it to the back and top of the panel and then the panel is popped up onto a card base of Crumb Cake. Finally, I added a leaf which was cut with the Autumn Accents die from champagne glimmer paper. This is then popped up onto the card.

Good morning, Friends! We made it to the middle of the week! For some reason we were all really tired last night! Even Nick put himself to bed and that rarely happens! I was able to get some stamping done and some laundry done. Today it's more laundry and stamping but I also hope to get some of Nick's quilt top done. I am making good progress but just need to keep going. Tomorrow night it will be all about packing as Becky and I leave Friday morning!!

Today's card was inspired by the sketch at Retro Sketches. I thought it was something a little different and held so many possibilities! No surprise that I pulled out the Googly Ghouls! Don't worry. I didn't use him for the next two days - lol!! I cut squares from Rich Razzleberry, Lucky Limeade and Pumpkin Pie and used the 3/4" circle punch to round the corners (one corner on each). The I adhered the top two to a piece of Basic Black. The bottom one got stamped with the greeting from Teeny Tiny Wishes in black StazOn. I also added a little piercing. This is popped up onto the panel. Then I stamped the bat in black StazOn onto a piece of Whisper White and cut him out. He, too, is popped up. Then I popped up this panel onto a card base of Basic Black and added two googlies. Simple!! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Good morning everyone! I hope your week is going great! If you keep up with my posts you will have read about my son and his little accident. I did take him to the doctor and there was nothing broken nor did they find a fracture. So that is good news. However, the doctor did put a splint on and has him walking on crutches for a little while. If it doesn't heal then we go back next week to see what else can be done. So rest and ice is the order for him! We will see how well he rests - lol!! By the way, thank you all for your nice comments about his recovery! I do appreciate them all!!

So how about a Thursday challenge for you all!! Create with Connie and Mary are challenging us with color! Check out these fabulous colors!

And I seem to have Halloween on the brain. Especially with the cutest Halloween set ever! Here is what I came up with!

I used the sketch at Retro Sketches and the Googly Ghouls stamp set to help me create this card. I adhered a piece of Summer Smooches designer paper to a card base of Tangerine Tango. Then I adhered I piece of Whisper White to a longer piece of Lucky Limeade and then to a piece of Rich Razzleberry. I wrapped a piece of Rich Razzleberry stitched grosgrain ribbon around this and then popped up this panel onto the card. I stamped 'Frankie' in black StazOn onto a piece of Whisper White and cut him out. Then I colored him with a Lucky Limeade marker and popped him up onto the white panel. Then I stamped the 'boooo' in black StazOn onto a strip of Tangerine Tango and adhered it to the card. Finally, I added two googlies and called him cute!!

Good morning everyone! Welcome to the first Create with Connie and Mary Thursday challenge of August! I still find it hard to believe that we are into August! This week we are being challenged with color. Take a look at these fun colors.                                     

Real Red, Sahara Sand and Basic Black. A lot of neutrals with a pop of color. Love it!! Since the Holiday mini has been debuted, I decided I wanted to use the cute Googly Ghouls set. So here is what I came up with.

I just love this little mummy!! And Frankie, from the same set, also stole my heart! I used the sketch at Retro Sketches. his is just a super fun sketch and I knew that everyone would come together! So I adhered a piece of the Basic Black designer paper to a card base of Sahara Sand. One end of a piece of Basic Black card stock is punched with the scallop edge border punch and the other end has the two corners rounded. On top of this is a piece of Whisper White and the panel is popped up onto the card base. Then I stamped the mummy in black StazOn onto a scrap of Whisper White and cut him out. He is popped up onto the card. I added a flagged strip of Sahara Sand and a black button with some white baker's twine. My pop of red is a little heart punched with the owl builder punch. And we can't forget the googlie eye!! I love these!! Under the panel I stamped the greeting from Teeny Tiny Wishes in black StazOn. So fun!!

Good morning, Friends! I hope your week is going great! It sure does seem to be flying by!! I am really glad that I was able to sleep in a little. It seems like I have been getting up so darn early for one reason or another. But not today! Later this morning I am taking a class with some other friends on how to weave a basket! I am pretty excited about this! It's something new and different!


Today's card was inspired from the sketch challenge at Retro Sketches. A super simple layout and card! And something a little different! I took a piece of Midnight Muse and used my 1 3/4" circle punch to round the top. I flagged the bottom and then punched a hole at the top to thread some crochet ribbon through. I used a bit of linen thread to tie a bow around that. This is popped up onto a card base of Crumb Cake. Then I took a piece of Summer Starfruit to the Big Shot and used my Delicate Doilies sizzlet to cut a small doily. This is adhered to the tag. The Very Vanilla piece is cut with the Apothecary Accents framelits. I stamped the sentiment from Tea Shoppe in Soft Suede and then sponged the edges with Crumb Cake. I added two silver brads before adhering it to the card. Then I stamped the tea cup in Pool Party on a scrap of Very Vanilla and cut it out. This is popped up onto the card. Good morning, Friends! I hope your weekend is off to a fabulous start! I will ask you all to keep Colorado in your thoughts and prayers as we seem to be experiencing one of the worst fire seasons ever. Most of the fires were on the Eastern side of the state and now we have one on our side and just a few miles away! The smoke from it filled our house yesterday making it very hard to breathe. While the valley is still smokey today, I don't smell it as much. We need rain!!!


Today's card was inspired by the sketch at Retro Sketches. I had this set sitting out and decided to use it for this sketch. This is the Ronald McDonald set called Moving forward. It is such a cute set!! A portion of all sales will go toward the Ronald McDonald charities. So a cute set AND a great cause!! Anyway, I started out with a card base of Real Red and then added a layer of Whisper White. Then I added a strip of the Polka Dot Parade designer paper rounding one corner with my 1" circle punch. For my focal point, I took a piece of Whisper White and stamped the bike in Real Red and added the flowers which are colored with Daffodil Delight and Gumball Green (hard to see it). I also added a flower that was punched with the itty bitty shapes punch pack from Daffodil Delight and a mini brad. I rounded opposite corners with the 1" circle punch. Then I punched a strip of Real Red with the dotted ribbon scallop punch and adhered it to the back before popping up the panel onto the card. Pretty simple!!
