CCMC 300 A Blog Hop

Good morning, Friends! Are you confused? Ha ha!! Many of you know that Typepad is having some major issues and it has been days since anyone can get onto their blogs including Create with Connie and Mary. Big bummer!! Anyway, we decided to bypass the main site and do a blog hop! How fun is that?!! You may have hopped here from Mary's blog. But no worries because by taking the tour, you will get to see everyone's creations! So it's time for the Thursday challenge at Create with Connie and Mary! This week we have a color challenge!

Calypso Coral, Crumb Cake and Basic Grey are the colors for this week! Very interesting and fun! Here is how I put them all together!

I wasn't sure how I was going to put these together but I like my end result! Here are the details:

  • Card base is Crumb Cake
  • Take another piece of Crumb Cake and use the 3" circle die to cut a circle out of the middle then run through the Big Shot with the Woodgrain embossing folder
  • Sponge the inside of the circle with Crumb Cake ink
  • Stamp the branch from Morning Meadow in Crumb Cake onto the card base then adhere embossed piece onto the card base with dimensionals
  • Stamp the bird onto Very Vanilla using Basic Grey ink and cut out
  • Stamp the greeting onto a strip of Very Vanilla using Basic Grey ink and flag the end then adhere other end to back of bird
  • Adhere bird to card with dimensionals
  • Punch a flower from Calypso Coral card stock using the itty bitty shapes punch pack and adhere to the bird
  • Add a rhinestone to flower center
A very neutral card with that little pop of color! Love it! Now, instead of going to the Create with Connie and Mary website to see what the other designers did, take the tour by clicking on the button below! It will direct you to Debbie Henderson's blog! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Gold Thank You

Good morning, Friends! And Happy April 1st to you all! I hope you don't get fooled today! My husband and I are trying to keep the whole "April Fool's" thing quiet as our 14 year old loves to try and trick us! And he usually finds a good way to do it! So we figure if we keep it quiet and just go on like it's a normal day he won't try anything. Well, we can hope - lol! I hope your week is off to a great start, though! Yesterday was gorgeous and now today we are supposed to have those winds again. They say the tree pollen is high so I will most likely be spending the day indoors as much as possible! Hopefully there will be more rain. And it does look really cloudy out there now. We will see.

Today's card uses some more of the beautiful fancy foil designer vellum. I have been having fun trying to find ways to use this beautiful paper. And I do love how this turned out!

  • Card base is Very Vanilla
  • Cut a strip of Gold foil sheet and a strip of gold foil designer vellum and angle the bottom of each going opposite directions
  • Adhere the vellum piece to the gold piece then tie a piece of gold twine around both
  • Adhere panel to card with dimensionals
  • Stamp the bird image from Morning Meadow with Coastal Cabana onto Very Vanilla and cut out then adhere to card with dimensionals
  • Stamp the greeting from Morning Meadow in black StazOn onto a strip of Very Vanilla and angle one end then adhere to card with dimensionals
  • Use the itty bitty shapes punch pack to punch a flower from Strawberry Slush and adhere to card
  • Add a Very Vanilla candy dot to flower center
Pretty easy and elegant! Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your day!

Good morning, Friends! I hope you are ready for another great challenge at Create with Connie and Mary! This week's challenge is a sketch! Check it out!

A pretty easy sketch but it sure gave me a hard time! And then after I came up with something, I had an even harder time getting a good picture! Ugh! But here is what I created:

I kept it all pretty simple.

  • Card base is Whisper White
  • I layered two pieces of Sweater Weather designer paper onto pieces of Soft Sky card stock and adhered them to the card
  • I used the Ovals framelits to cut an oval from Blushing Bride
  • I stamped the image from Morning Meadow in Blushing Bride onto Whisper White, cut it out and adhered it to the oval then popped it up onto the card
  • I stamped the greeting in Pear Pizzazz and popped it up onto the card
  • Two pearls were added to the stamped image
And that's all there is to it! Be sure to check out the other fabulous creations at the Create with Connie and Mary website! I hope you will be inspired to play along with us this week! We sure do love to see what you come up with! Thanks for stopping by and have a fabulous day!

So we are supposed to be in Denver, watching our boys warm up for their game this morning but... A funny thing happened on the way to Denver... After school yesterday we packed up the car and went to gas up the car. As my husband was putting the gas in I was checking FaceBook to see the latest happenings. Well, I quickly found out that the Interstate was closed between here and Denver due to flooding. We had some very horrific rains (not at our house but in town) that had moved on and caused flooding in other areas! Anyway, some of our team got caught in the long line of cars that were trying to get turned around and some of us decided to wait it out at home (like us). While we waited the team manager and the coach were busy trying to get the game rescheduled because we had no way of knowing how long it would be before the Interstate opened. So now we are getting ready to leave, again, as the game has been rescheduled for tonight and then we have one tomorrow afternoon. So we'll try it again! What a start to the soccer season!! Lol!

Today's card was an experiment. It is pretty simple and I like the way it turned out! I am experimenting with the lines image from the Gorgeous Grunge set. You will see another one that I did later. Here are the details:

  • Card base is Whisper White
  • On a layer of Soft Sky, stamp the lines image from Gorgeous Grunge in Soft Sky
  • Over this, stamp the branch from Morning Meadow in Early Espresso
  • Sponge panel with Soft Sky ink and pop up onto card
  • Stamp bird image in Soft Sky onto Whisper White and cut out
  • Stamp greeting in Early Espresso onto strip of Whisper White and flag end
  • Adhere other end of strip to cut out bird and then pop up the element onto the card
  • Punch a flower from Blushing Bride using itty bitty shapes punch pack, adhere to bird and add a pearl
Thanks for stopping by and have a fabulous day!

Thank You Tag

Good morning, Friends! Well the first day of school seemed to go great for Nick yesterday! But today he is really dragging his feet! I think he is wore out already - lol! After school yesterday we went to get his hair cut and then to find a guitar for his beginning guitar class. He put some of his own money toward one so he could get one that he likes. And I am glad it worked out that way! I am excited for him to learn how to play and he seems to be really excited about it, too! A sports guy that will have some musical ability, too! And then today after school we will need to get a few more school supplies for some of his classes. I think he is going to have a super year! I am still having a hard time getting used to this routine - lol!

Today's card was another one that I had made for a display. A very simple card!! I am pretty sure that I had used a sketch but now I can't remember which one it was. Here are the details:

  • Card base is Pool Party
  • Layer of Baked Brown Sugar and then a layer of Pool Party
  • On the layer of Pool Party the tag stamp from Notable Notions was stamped in Pool Party as well as the buttons (these were stamped off once) and then the layer was sponged with Pool Party ink
  • The two layers were adhered together and then I used a clip from the Hardware Clips Essentials
  • Pop up this panel onto card base
  • Stamp greeting from Morning Meadow in Baked Brown Sugar onto a strip of Very Vanilla and flag both ends
  • Strip is popped up onto card
  • Button is made from Simply Pressed Clay and the Buttons and Blossoms mold
  • I sponged the button with Baked Brown Sugar ink and tied some linen thread through it and adhered it to the card
  • I added a Very Vanilla candy dot to the stamped tag top
Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Bermuda Bay, Smoky Slate and Basic Black. Aren't they gorgeous! So bold and elegant! Love them!

I used a sketch from the CCMC Summer Edition to help me put this card together. Wow! Doesn't that black just make everything pop! Love it! Here are the card details:

  • Card base is Smoky Slate
  • Layer of Smoky Slate
  • On layer of Smoky Slate stamp greeting from Morning Meadow in black StazOn
  • Adhere two strips of Basic Black card stock behind panel and three mini brads then adhere to card
  • Cut a label from Basic Black using the Labels framelits and adhere to card
  • Cut oval from Whisper White using Ovals framelits
  • Flag both ends of a strip of Bermuda Bay and adhere to back of oval
  • Stamp bird image with black StazOn onto Whisper White, cut out and pop up onto card
Very simple! I think it might even work for a masculine card. Be sure to see what the other designers did with these fabulous colors at the Create with Connie and Mary website! I hope to see your creation linked up this week! Thanks for stopping by and have a fabulous day!

Love this sketch! So many wonderful possibilities! I kept pretty much to the sketch and I used the Color Coach to help me with some color choices. Take a look!

Good morning, Friends! I hope your week is off to a fabulous start! We are just clicking along trying to stay cool! Looks like another scorcher today with no rain possible. Dang! Have to take Nick to a friend's house and then I am off to get a massage! Ahhh!! I need one so badly! My back and neck will get some much needed attention! Then maybe I will feel better! I wonder if I will feel like stamping this afternoon? :)

Today's card was inspired by the sketch at Retro Sketches. This one is actually from a few week's ago and that's when I had made my card. So at the time it was current - lol! But I still like the way it turned out and it's a great sketch! One I will be using again! Here are the card details:

  • Add two mini brads to panel, tie some Pool Party seam binding ribbon around this and pop up onto card
  • Stamp bird in Pool Party onto Very Vanilla, cut out and pop up onto card

FTH 22

Good morning, Friends! It's "hump" day! Lol!! I just love that GEICO commercial where that camel goes around asking everybody at the office what day it is today. Have you seen that one? I love the voice of that camel! He just makes me laugh every time! Silly, I know. So now whenever I think of Wednesday as being "hump" day I hear that camel! Looks like I still have laundry on the agenda. And I need to get some more stamping done. With Nick out of the house, I should be able to get a lot done!!

Today's card was inspired by the sketch at Designed to Delight. They post a new sketch twice a month and I still managed to miss the deadline. Oh well. I still like how it turned out! Here are the details:

  • Pear Pizzazz card base
  • Pear Pizzazz layer run through the Big Shot with the Adorning Accents edgelits, then sponged
  • Gingham Garden designer paper layer
  • Sentiment from Morning Meadow stamped in Pear Pizzazz onto Very Vanilla then layered to Island Indigo with two mini brads then popped up onto card
  • Image from same set stamped in Island Indigo onto Very Vanilla then cut out and popped up onto card.
Fairly simple card! Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your day!

Card Recipe: Stamps- Morning Meadow; Paper- Pear Pizzazz, Island Indigo, Very Vanilla, Gingham Garden designer paper; Ink- Pear Pizzazz, Island Indigo; Accessories- Adorning Accents edgelits TIEF, mini brads, sponge, dimensionals
