Mostly White Work of Art

Good morning everyone! It's another Monday! Joy!! I didn't get as much stamping done as I would have liked but I did get a lot done! Now to keep up the momentum! I also got time to stitch yesterday! That was fun! And I got home in time to see the Broncos pull out a win! That was scarier than it needed to be!! All in all it was a great weekend! This week is looking to be really busy and then we have another crazy busy weekend. Sure makes the days fly by!

Today's card was one that Becky did in her card class last month. I hadn't played with the Work of Art set in a long time and thought I could add my twist to her layout.

  • Card base is Whisper White
  • Run a piece of Whisper White through the Big Shot using the Large Polka Dots embossing folder
  • On a piece of Whisper White stamp the three "swoosh" images from Work of Art using Hello Honey, Calypso Coral and Pool Party inks
  • Stamp the greeting using Basic Grey ink
  • Adhere stamped panel to a piece of Whisper White
  • Tie a piece of Blushing Bride cotton ribbon around the panel and adhere to card with dimensionals
  • Stamp the heart image onto a piece of Whisper White using Blushing Bride ink and cut out then adhere to card with dimensionals
  • Add three rhinestones to card
Super simple with lots of white!

CCMC Summer Week 1

Good morning, everyone! I hope you are ready for a great weekend! Create with Connie and Mary has just finished week 1 of the Summer Collection! At the end of each week, we have a fun challenge for the public side of the special edition! This first week we are ending with a fun sketch to work with!

And my card...

The theme for the projects this first week was Graphic Elements and Topography. For my project this first week, I used the Work of Art stamp set so I thought I would use it for this sketch challenge. I love this set! So very versatile and compliments so many of our other stamp sets! My Color Coach told me that Soft Sky, Blackberry Bliss and Old Olive would look great together! Yep!!

  • Card base is Soft Sky
  • Run another piece of Soft Sky card stock through the Big Shot using the Honeycomb embossing folder and adhere to card base
  • On another piece of Soft Sky card stock, stamp the chevron image from Work of Art stamp set twice using Soft Sky ink
  • Flag the end of a strip of Moonlight designer paper and adhere to stamped panel then adhere panel to card with dimensionals
  • Stamp the "swoosh" image onto a piece of Whisper White card stock using Soft Sky ink then stamp the sentiment over that using Old Olive ink and punch out using the extra large oval punch
  • Adhere to card with dimensionals
  • Punch a flower from Blackberry Bliss using the itty bitty accents punch pack and adhere to card then add a rhinestone
Check out what the other designers did with this sketch at the Create with Connie and Mary site! Feel free to join us and show us your creation using this sketch! Don't forget to sign up for the Summer Collection and see all the fun we are having over there! It's not too late and you will still have access to everything that has been shared so far!

Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Work of Hearts

Good morning, Friends! Some days I feel like the day slipped away from me and I didn't get done near what I wanted! Yesterday was one of those days. I did get done some important things but they weren't necessarily on my schedule - lol! So now I am all out of whack! I hope to focus today and get a lot done and organized because the countdown to my trip has begun!! Less than a week!! Nick and I are getting SO excited!! And the World Cup has begun! We didn't get to see yesterday's game because of a haircut. But nothing is planned today so we are going to be watching!!

Today's card is the third of the stamp club cards for this month. I kinda sorta got the layout from the catalog. Had to change it up to make it work but I do like how this turned out!

  • Card base is Whisper White
  • Run a piece of Whisper White through the Big Shot using the Decorative Dots embossing folder and adhere to card
  • round the upper left hand corner of a piece of Whisper White using the corner rounder
  • Stamp the "swoosh" image from Work of Art using So Saffron ink
  • Snip the end of a strip of Smoky Slate and stamp the first part of the sentiment onto the strip using Smoky Slate ink then adhere strip to stamped panel
  • Stamp the "you" in Smoky Slate ink onto the Whisper White panel
  • Adhere panel to card
  • Stamp the heart image twice onto a piece of Whisper White using Strawberry Slush ink and cut out
  • Adhere hearts to card with dimensionals and add rhinestones
Pretty simple! Preview Week for the Summer Collection at Create with Connie and Mary starts next week! We are so excited to show you some really great projects using new catalog product! Early Bird pricing is going on now so don't miss out! I hope to see you there! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Leafy Work of Art

Good morning, Friends! I hope you are all having a fabulous week so far! I did get some stamping done yesterday but still have a lot more I would love to accomplish! Maybe today?? Nick had a friend over for the night last night. At 2:00 a.m. I wake up to the smell of popcorn. He and his buddy had taken the hot air popper to his bedroom and were feasting on popcorn while playing video games - lol! Boys! So it took me a while to get back to sleep and then I slept longer than I had wanted to. Time to get the day started!!

Today's card was an experiment. I wanted to try to stamp on watercolor paper using this new stamp set and spritz with some water to see what the effect would be. I think I need to keep working on it.

  • Card base is Crumb Cake
  • On a piece of Crumb Cake stamp the images from Work of Art using Hello Honey, Crumb Cake, and Mossy Meadow inks
  • Adhere stamped panel to a piece of Mossy Meadow and then adhere to card with dimensionals
  • Use the Autumn Accents die to cut the leaf shape from watercolor paper
  • Stamp the leaf shape with the images from Work of Art using Hello Honey, Mossy Meadow, Crumb Cake and Tangelo Twist inks (before stamping each image I misted the stamp with some water)
  • After images are dry, stamp the sentiment using black StazOn
  • Loop some linen thread on the back side of the leaf and then adhere to card with dimensionals
  • Thread a piece of linen thread through a Basic Metal button and adhere to card
Thanks for stopping by and have a fabulous day!!

Golden Hearts

Good morning, Friends! I hope your weekend is off to a great start! Our niece is graduating today and it looks like it should be a beautiful day! Although rain is predicted later on. The Junior College World Series starts today, too! While we don't go to all the games, we do like to attend a few. And my parents get here tomorrow! Yeah!!! I went mountain biking for the first time in over 14 years! WOW! I forgot how much I love it! I rented a bike as I don't have one (my other one just got too old and needed way too many repairs). I am renting a different one tonight to see which one I might like better. Now I just need to get myself back into riding shape!! Nick is going to be on the high school mountain biking racing team this next fall. I am really looking forward to that! It's been a busy summer so far! And he's only been out of school since Wednesday afternoon - lol!!

Today's card was sort of an experiment. I am trying to find different ways to use this stamp set. And I think this definitely falls into the different category - lol! I took my color coach and spread out all the blues. The only pain was having to clean in between each ink color.

  • Card base is Very Vanilla
  • Adhere a strip of gold foil card stock to card base
  • On a piece of Very Vanilla, stamp the image from Work of Art in the various blue inks: Soft Sky, Pool Party, Tempting Turquoise, Marina Mist, Island Indigo, Night of Navy
  • Stamp the heart image using gold Encore ink
  • Adhere stamped panel to card with dimensionals
  • Make a tag from a piece of vellum
  • Adhere two strips of Watercolor Wonder washi tape to top of tag and punch a hole
  • Stamp the greeting using black StazOn ink
  • Tie a piece of gold twine through the tag then adhere tag to card using dimensionals
  • Punch a heart from gold foil card stock using the itty bitty accents punch and adhere to card
There you have it! Thanks for stopping by and have a fabulous day!

CAS(E) This 75

Good morning, Friends! I hope your week is off to a great start! It got to below freezing this morning - yuck! But I think this is the last of the cold stuff for a while. I sure hope so! It's nice to have the moisture for the mountains but I'm ready for the warmer weather! I'll be doing some stamping today! I'm hoping to finish up a couple of swaps!

Today's card was inspired by the sketch at CAS(E) This. I used the new stamp set for this one!

  • Card base is Whisper White
  • Use a sponge to ink up the chevron image from Work of Art with Blushing Bride ink and stamp onto the card base
  • Flag the bottom of a strip of Soft Sky card stock and punch the heart shape with the itty bitty punch pack
  • Stamp the "swoosh" image onto the strip with Soft Sky ink and then the words over that using black StazOn
  • Tie a piece of silver twine around the strip and adhere to card with dimensionals
  • Add a rhinestone to the heart cut out
Super simple!! Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

ColourQ 240

Good morning, Friends! I am so thankful it's Friday! This has been a tough week to get up in the mornings! I am looking forward to sleeping in tomorrow! I have a massage today and I really need it! I will probably end up falling asleep on her table - lol! I got my box of new product on Wednesday and have been playing around with the new stuff! Oh what fun!! I look forward to showing you what I've done!

Today's card was the card I did with my shoebox club that met last night. This set, Word of Art, is one that demonstrators received at the Catalog Premier Party last month. I really love this set but it did have me stumped. I wasn't sure how to use it. Weird, I know. But I do like how this one turned out. I got my color combination from the colourQ challenge. Because Sage Shadow is retired, I didn't use that color. Here are the details:

  • Card base is Pear Pizzazz
  • Stamp the circle image from Work of Art in Pear Pizzazz several times along one edge of the card base and stamp some circles without reining
  • On a piece of Whisper White, stamp the chevron image using Pink Pirouette ink and a sponge (I sponged the ink onto the stamp instead of putting the stamp directly into the ink) three times
  • Adhere panel to a piece of Strawberry Slush card stock and then adhere to card with dimensionals
  • Made a tag from a piece of vellum by cutting the corners and flagging the bottom
  • On the back side of the tag, stamp the image in Strawberry Slush and let dry (you can blot it or use a heat tool to speed the drying)
  • On the front side, stamp the words in black StazOn
  • Fold a piece of Pink Pirouette ribbon in half and adhere to tag with glue dots
  • Tie a piece of white baker's twine through a vintage faceted button and adhere to tag (I curled the ends of the baker's twine with my finger nails)
  • Adhere tag to card by strategically placing glue dots behind the ribbon
  • Stamp the heart onto a piece of Whisper White using Strawberry Slush and cut out then adhere to card with dimensionals
  • Add a rhinestone to the heart
Thanks so much for stopping by and have a super day!
