CCMC Saturday Blog Hop: Celebrations Edition Week 1

Hello everyone! It's time for another Create with Connie and Mary Saturday blog hop! This week we are showing 3-d treat projects that showcase the stamp set we used for the Cards "Create"tion Celebrations edition! I used the Choose Happiness for my project this past week. I hope you are a subscriber so you can see all the awesome ideas that are being shared! I am your stop after the super talented Debbie Henderson! She always has such awesome ideas!

I made an embellishment for a gift bag. I thought this would fit a few events that I have coming up - graduations and a wedding.

  • I took a Polka Dot Tag a Bag gift bag and folded the top down about an inch or so
  • I wrapped a piece of Soft Sky Painted Blooms Cotton Twine around the top and tied a bow
  • Cut a label from Whisper White card stock using the Labels framelits (I used the second from the smallest)
  • Ink just the words from the Choose Happiness stamp set using and Island Indigo marker and stamp it onto the label
  • Stamp the leafy image using Pear Pizzazz ink
  • Punch a circle from Island Indigo card stock using the 2 1/2" circle punch and cut in half then adhere each half to the back of the label
  • Adhere the label to the bag with dimensionals
  • Stamp the banner image onto a piece of Crumb Cake using Soft Suede ink and cut out then adhere to stamped label
  • Stamp the bird image onto Whisper White using Soft Sky ink and cut out then adhere to banner with dimensionals
  • Punch a flower from Blushing Bride card stock using itty bitty accents punch pack and adhere to bird
  • Add a pearl to the flower center
Now it's time to send you on to see what wonderful creation Connie Babbert has for you! She always inspires me with her creativeness! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Control Freaks Blog Tour: Simple and Elegant

Hello everyone! Welcome to the Control Freaks blog tour! I am stop #5 after Heidi Boos! If you are out of order then don't worry as you will make a complete circle and be able to visit everyone's blog by clicking the "next" button at the bottom! Please note: if you are visiting before the 20th, all the blogs may not be working. To take the tour with no glitches, be sure to come back on the 20th!

I haven't participated in one of these in a long time! I was so glad to get back into it!! This month's theme was simple and elegant. I can do simple easy enough but I sure did get hung up on the elegant part. And after making my cards, I kept second guessing myself. But time was running out and this is what made the cut!

First up is a very simple card! In fact I used the sketch at CAS(E) This Sketch! The colors came from the My Create Ink - SU Color Lab. I knew I wanted to use Crushed Curry and Pear Pizzazz. I just didn't know what other colors would go with those. So I plugged those two colors in and a whole array of beautiful combinations came up! This set is one of my favorites!

  • Card base is Whisper White
  • Stamp the images from Kinda Eclectic onto the card base using Crushed Curry, Pear Pizzazz, Baked Brown Sugar (stamped off once) and Night of Navy inks
  • Stamp the butterfly images onto Rich Razzleberry using Rich Razzleberry ink and punch out using the Elegant Butterfly and Bitty Butterfly punches
  • Adhere butterflies to card
  • Punch a butterfly from vellum card stock using the Bitty Butterfly punch and adhere to bigger butterfly
  • Adhere pearls to butterflies
Pretty simple and very mailable!

For my second card I tried to go more elegant. I think it still fits into the simple category, too. And what could be more elegant than gold! I haven't used this washi tape in quite some time so it was fun to get it out again!

  • Card base is Very Vanilla
  • Stamp the flower image from Choose Happiness onto the card base with gold Encore ink
  • Cover a piece of Very Vanilla card stock with the Watercolor Wonder washi tape and adhere to card with dimensionals
  • Stamp the greeting onto a strip of Very Vanilla using Rich Razzleberry ink and flag the end
  • Adhere a strip of gold foil paper to the back and then adhere to card
  • Stamp the bird image onto a piece of Very Vanilla using Lost Lagoon ink and cut out then adhere to card with dimensionals
  • Punch a flower from Pink Pirouette card stock using the itty bitty accents punch pack and adhere to bird
  • Adhere gold sequins to card (one to flower center)
Thanks for stopping by! I hope you enjoyed my projects! Be sure to click the image below to get to your next stop on the blog tour! It's Melissa Davies! Enjoy!!

Blackberry Bird

Good morning everyone! I hope you are ready for another week! I think I could use another day of the weekend! Saturday was a long day of soccer games in the hot sun! Ugh! I got burned even though I used sunscreen and sat in the shade! How does that happen? Yesterday I got a lot of stamping done but still have quite a bit more to do so I will be working on that throughout the week after I get home from school. I do like my job but it sure gets in the way of the fun stuff - lol!

Today's card was one that I did a while ago. I wasn't sure how I felt about it. I tried the splattering thing and it just didn't do it the way I wanted.

  • Card base is Smoky Slate
  • On a piece of Smoky Slate stamp the sentiment from Choose Happiness using Smoky Slate and Blackberry Bliss markers to ink it with
  • Tie a piece of Blackberry Bliss stitched satin ribbon around the panel and adhere to card
  • Stamp the flower onto a piece of Naturals White using Hello Honey ink
  • Stamp the stem using Mossy Meadow ink and use a blender pen to pull color into the leaves
  • Adhere panel to a piece of Blackberry Bliss and then adhere to card with dimensionals
  • Stamp the bird image onto a piece of Naturals White using Blackberry Bliss ink and cut out then adhere to card with dimensionals
  • (Here's the step I would leave out next time) Use an aqua painter and Smoky Slate ink to splatter the card - maybe yours will look better than mine...
Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Choose Happiness Tag

Good morning everyone! Yea! It's the weekend! Nick has a day filled with soccer scrimmages so we will be out in the sun and heat all day. Oh joy... But it will be fun to watch the high school team! Wow! Can't believe that he is on the high school team! Their first game is next Saturday! I will be bringing my umbrella and sunscreen for sure today! And lots of water! I thought I would get a lot of stamping done today but it looks like I have a change in plans. We will see how I feel tonight. Probably exhausted... Maybe tomorrow? I have some new toys I really want to break in, too! Maybe that will motivate me!

Today's card was the last of the cards for stamp club this month. I love this set!

  • Card base is Sahara Sand
  • Stamp the flower image from Choose Happiness onto the card base with Sahara Sand ink
  • Make a tag from Moonlight designer paper and flag the bottom
  • Thread a piece of Lost Lagoon stitched satin ribbon through the hole at the top and tie a piece of silver baker's twine around the ribbon
  • Adhere tag to card
  • Stamp the sentiment onto a piece of Whisper White using Tuxedo Black Momento ink and cut out using the Apothecary Accents framelits
  • Flag the ends of a strip of Calypso Coral card stock and adhere to the back of the sentiment then adhere to tag with dimensionals
  • Stamp the woodgrain banner image onto a piece of Hello Honey using Hello Honey and cut out (you can cut out using the banners framelits but I cut this one out by hand)
  • Adhere banner to tag and tuck under Calypso Coral strip
  • Stamp the bird image onto Whisper White using Lost Lagoon ink and cut out then adhere to card with dimensionals
Lots of pieces to this one but it was fun!! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Friendly Happiness

Good morning, Friends! Well it felt really good to sleep in one more time before the chaos starts tomorrow! I start to freak out and get nervous and then I remember that I am not the one in charge! Haha!! I am just there to support and this first week will be about observing, getting to know the teachers and the kiddos and also getting to know how the curriculum works. Well I can do that! Pat and I went in yesterday to move some furniture around and I think I will go in today and try to put some things away. But other than that, I don't think I need to worry too much about what's there. It's ALL there - lol! When working with kids k-5 you've got it all!! It's just trying to figure out where to put it...

Today's card was inspired by one I had pinned a long time ago. It didn't turn out exactly like I'd planned but here it is!

  • Card base is Naturals White
  • Run a piece of Lost Lagoon through the Big Shot using the Woodgrain embossing folder and adhere to card base
  • Stamp the leaf image from Choose Happiness in Pear Pizzazz onto a piece of Pear Pizzazz
  • Ink up just the first part of the sentiment in Early Espresso and stamp onto Pear Pizzazz piece
  • Adhere panel to a piece of Early Espresso and then adhere to card with dimensionals
  • Use the Circles framelits to cut a circle from Naturals White
  • Stamp the leaf image onto the circle using black StazOn
  • Use a blender pen and inks to color the image (Hello Honey, Pear Pizzazz, Early Espresso)
  • Adhere circle to card
  • Stamp the bird image onto a piece of Naturals White using Lost Lagoon ink and cut out then adhere to card with dimensionals
  • Punch a flower from Rich Razzleberry using the itty bitty accents punch pack and adhere to bird
  • Add a Blushing Bride candy dot to flower center
Thanks for stopping by and for all your positive comments about my job! You all definitely made me feel special!! Have a super day!

The Challenge #11

Hello everyone! I think I could have slept a little longer but I thought I had better get myself moving! I'm hoping the coffee kicks in and perks me up! I am also hoping that my mojo kicks in today and I can stamp more than one card! That seems to be all I can muster these days. We had an awesome rain last night! Lots of flash flooding going on in the area. We are doing fine and we definitely need the rain. So nice to have the cooler temps, too!

Today's card was inspired by the sketch and color challenge at The Challenge. I thought tees colors were very interesting together and was anxious to try it out! I also just got this set and was eager to try it out, too!

  • Card base is Cajun Craze
  • Stamp the Hardwood background onto a piece of Cajun Craze using Early Espresso ink then sponge edges with Cajun Craze ink and adhere to card base with dimensionals
  • Stamp the stem image from Choose Happiness onto a piece of Old Olive using Old Olive ink and sponge edges using Old Olive ink
  • Punch a strip using the dotted ribbon scallop punch and adhere to Old Olive panel then adhere to card
  • Cut a circle from Crisp Cantaloupe using the Circles framelits
  • Stamp the flower image onto the circle using Cajun Craze ink
  • Cut part of the circle off and sponge edges using Crisp Cantaloupe ink then adhere to card
  • Stamp the greeting onto a strip of Crisp Cantaloupe using Early Espresso ink and flag the end then adhere to a strip of Cajun Craze with a flagged end
  • Adhere strips to card with dimensionals
  • Stamp the leaf image onto a piece of Whisper White using Old Olive ink and use a blender pen to gently pull some color into the leaves then cut out
  • Adhere cut out to card with glue dots
  • Stamp the bird image onto Whisper White using Early Espresso ink and cut out then adhere to card with a dimensional
  • Punch a flower from Crisp Cantaloupe using the itty bitty accents punch pack and adhere to bird
