Good Monday morning, Friends! Well, we will be on our way home this morning. What a most wonderful weekend it was! We will have the car loaded up with new purchases (mostly Becky's - lol!). I am anxious to start some new wool appliqué projects soon, too!
Today's card was inspired by a challenge at Less is More. The challenge was to use up scraps to make a card (by the way, this was last week's challenge). The only thing that was not a scrap was the card base of Very Vanilla. So on top of my card base I attached three strips of designer paper from the Everyday Enchantment pack. These are varied in length and width and then flagged on the end. I just put adhesive in the middle of each strip and then sort of curved the ends off the card. Then I took a scrap of Very Vanilla and stamped the 'Hello' from Elementary Elegance in Soft Suede. I rounded one corner of this strip and popped it up onto the card. Then I took a scrap of Peach Parfait and ran it through the Big Shot with the Beautiful Wings embosslit. I added a mini brad before adhering it to the Very Vanilla strip. And there you have it! Good morning, Friends! Time for another great challenge with our friends at Create with Connie and Mary! This week we are being challenged with a sketch. Take a look!
What a super fun sketch! So clean and simple! Just my kind of sketch!! Take a look at what I came up with!
I made a square card that measures 4 1/4". I really like the smaller size of this square. And I kept my card very simple, just like the sketch. My card base is Soft Suede. Then I popped up a Very Vanilla piece that was cut with the Perfect Pennants die. Then I took a piece of designer paper from the Everyday Enchantment pack and flagged one end. At the other end I added a piece of Very Vanilla seam binding ribbon and a brad from the Everyday Enchantment ribbon and brad pack. I glued this down to the scallop piece. I punched a Very Vanilla circle with the 1 3/4" circle punch and stamped the greeting from Elementary Elegance in Soft Suede. This circle is popped up on the card. The last thing I did was to add a butterfly (from the same set) that was stamped in Peach Parfait onto Very Vanilla. I cut it out and used a glue dot to attach it to the card. I added a rhinestone as well.

Good morning, Friends! Well we went from a dark and dreary day yesterday to a bright and sunny day today! I am starting to get a little worried that we won't be seeing any snow around here this winter. And it hasn't been as cold as in years past, either. Not complaining, so much, but we do need the moisture. Still a lot of winter left. We will have to see what happens!
Today's card was inspired by a card I saw in an older PaperCrafts magazine. A good friend of mine had a birthday last week and I sent her this card. Of course it was late (and she may not have gotten it yet). Happy Birthday, Kim! I liked the idea of using the new framelits in a different way. I took a piece of the new Everyday Enchantment designer paper and ran it through the Big Shot with one of the labels framelits dies. Then I took a piece of Very Vanilla card stock and stamped the greeting from Elementary Elegance in Poppy Parade. I put some dimensionals on the back of my patterned piece (around the opening) and centered my greeting through the window. Then I wrapped some Very Vanilla seam binding ribbon around this before popping the whole thing up on my card base of Poppy Parade. Then I added some pearls around the sides of the frame. The last thing I did was to stamp a butterfly in Poppy Parade on Very Vanilla and cut it out. It is attached with a glue dot and the wings are gently bent up. A very simple card! And here is what I did with it!
When I saw the sketch, it was very easy for me to figure out what I wanted to do! I grabbed my new SAB set and went to work. This card is very clean and simple but I am sure happy with how it all turned out! I took a piece of Crumb Cake and stamped the image from Elementary Elegance in Early Espresso. Then I adhered this to a piece of Early Espresso card stock and popped it up on a card base of Crumb Cake. I took a thin strip of Early Espresso card stock and flagged both ends and glued it to the card. I stamped the greeting from the same set in Early Espresso on Crumb Cake and punched it out with the curly label punch. I sponged the edges of this in Crumb Cake and popped it up on the card. The last thing I did was to take some pearls and line them up on either side of the image. Simple!
