SSSC 131

Good Sunday morning everyone! I am making a short post today. We are off to eat breakfast and then check out so that we can go watch the boys play their second soccer game of the season! They did win yesterday: 2-0!!! It was so exciting! And Nick was goalie for the second half of the game. Boy, did he have to make some great saves! I was so proud of him!

Today's card was inspired by Karen Giron's sketch from last week. I love her sketches! I got my colors from the Color Coach. I rather like these colors together! I wasn't so sure at first. But it is growing on me. We are winding down to the last few days to purchase this stamp set, Strength & Hope, which helps to benefit breast cancer research. It is truly a beautiful set! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

PPA 107

Good morning, Friends! This is my last morning to sleep in until the weekend! Last night was Nick's final night to stay up late! I can't believe that school starts tomorrow! Where did the summer go? He is excited to start Middle School but not so much for the school work. I hope he will look at it as a challenge to do his best. It is kind of weird to have school starting in the middle of the week. I have to keep reminding myself that tomorrow I will need to get up and get him ready. I am excited for him!!

Today's card is one that I put together yesterday. I used the sketch from Pals Paper Arts that you can find 'here'. I think it is a fun and interesting sketch! And pretty simple. Which is how I like them!! I decided to use the Strength & Hope set before it goes out. You still have a week to order this set and donate to the cause! Find a demonstrator today or contact me! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Card Recipe: Stamps- Strength & Hope; Paper- Crumb Cake, Night of Navy, Soft Suede, Confetti White, Pocket Full of Posies designer paper; Ink- Poppy Parade, Crumb Cake, Soft Suede; Accessories- Soft Suede taffeta ribbon, basic pearls, Stripes embossing folder, dimensionals

Simple Strength

Good morning, Friends! I need to make this post a quick one. Today is the day Nick gets registered for Middle School! Yikes!! Yes, they do the registration most of the day but I thought I would like to get it over with early. Plus, I get to have lunch with a special friend!! I hope your week is going great so far. I can't believe how busy I am with projects. I need to get to work!!

Today's card is one that I made quite a while ago. It has just been sitting on my desk as I am not sure how I really feel about it. I believe that I got the colors from the Color Coach. And that is what I am not so sure about. I do like the simplicity of it. Anyway, I hope that it might inspire you! Thanks so much for stopping by and have a super day!

Misty Monochromatic

Good morning, Friends! I hope you are having a great weekend! We are in Boulder at a soccer tournament and we have one early game today and then the rest of the day is free! Nick and I came over on Thursday and the team played two games yesterday. They lost their first one and won their second. The team we play today is really good so we will see what they can do! Regardless, it is fun to be out of town! They will have one more game tomorrow and then we will be back home for another week. I can't believe that June is almost over!!

Today's card is the third one I did with my stamp club this month. It is a super simple card but monochromatic always produces such elegant results! I really like how it turned out! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Strength Just For You

Good morning, Friends! I am really trying to stay caught up on my stamping! I thought I would have more time during the day but lately, that isn't happening. Today, it might!! Nick is going swimming with some friends so I am really going to buckle down and get something done! Yes, I still need to do the dishes and the laundry but I think I can fit it all in! How's that for positive thinking! Last night Nick's baseball team lost by one run. I consider this a good game because after the top of the first inning, they were down by 5 and after the second they were down by 12!!! Yikes! But they finally pulled it together and came back. Now we look forward to the tournament this weekend.

Today's card started from a sketch and then went in another direction. Mainly because I was in a hurry to get something up today!. I do like the way it turned out. And I am quickly finding that the Wisteria Wonder/Elegant Eggplant combo are my favorite colors! Aren't they pretty together? The new In Colors are so pretty! I have other sneak peek products to show but I am trying to pace myself - lol! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Card Recipe: Stamps- Strength & Hope; Teeny Tiny Wishes; Paper- Elegant Eggplant, Wisteria Wonder, Lucky Limeade, Whisper White; Ink- Wisteria Wonder, Elegant Eggplant; Accessories- 3" circle die, Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder, basic rhinestones, Little Leaves sizzlet, itty bitty shapes punch pack, sponge dauber, dimensionals

SFF 050611

Hello Friends! Are you glad it's Friday!!! I am! We will be leaving later this afternoon for Durango because Nick's soccer team is playing in a tournament down there this weekend. I am really excited because it has been a while since we have done a tournament. And the weather looks to be wonderful! But enough of that. It's time for a Sketch Frenzy Friday sketch. This week's sketch is brought to us by Sharon Field. Take a look:

And here is what I came up with:

There is a lot going on here! Not my usual style but that's what challenges are for, right? :) Anyway... I used the Strength & Hope set and started with a card base of Wild Wasabi. To that I added a piece of So Saffron that I ran through the Big Shot using the Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder. Then I added a piece of Very Vanilla taffeta ribbon and glued this to the card. I cut a circle from Confetti Cream cardstock using the 3" circle die. I stamped the flourish image in So Saffron several times lightly and then sponged the edges. This is popped up on the card. I stamped the butterfly in Regal Rose and then sponged the stamp with Rose Red to highlight the edges. The leaves are cut using Wild Wasabi cardstock and the Little Leaves sizzlet. I punched the little flowers with the itty bitty shapes punch pack and So Saffron and Rose Red cardstock and added some pearls. The leaves and flowers are glued down flat. The butterfly has an antique brad and is popped up. The last thing I did was to stamp the words in So Saffron on Confetti Cream and then the "Hope" in Rose Red right on top. I punched it out with the designer label punch and sponged it. I also punched a Rose Red 1 3/8" circle out to highlight the "Hope". This is popped up over the ribbon. And there you have it!

Click 'here' to see what Jennifer did with this sketch. Continue through the tour and see what the team came up with to get inspired. Then make your creation and upload it to the Sketch Frenzy Friday blog so we can all see! I think the kinks are all worked out! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

SASC 89

Good morning, Friends! I hope you are all having a super start to the week! It looks like March might just go out like a lamb - as they say. I am so excited to see more sun and warmer temperatures! Well, my son is getting older. Yikes! I mean, I know that but it has really hit home now. Yesterday he brought "the note" home. You know, the one about seeing "the film". Parents can sign it if they want their child to opt out but my husband and I talked about it and we feel he should see it. I mean, we both did. It's just so weird to think that it is time for him to see it. I looked at Pat and said that he will have to do the "talk" because I never saw the boy's film -lol! Just the other day I was looking at pictures of him when he was "knee-high to a grasshopper". Where does all that time go?

Today's card was inspired by a sketch on Stampin' Addicts. The sketch looked very similar to one that I used a few weeks ago from Splitcoast. Because of that I thought I should try to make them different. So I used different colors and a different butterfly. I do like the way it turned out and I got to use my vintage trinkets! Thanks so much for stopping by and taking a look. Have a wonderful day!

Card Recipe: Stamps- Strength & Hope, Teeny Tiny Wishes; Paper- Confetti Cream, Not Quite Navy, Baja Breeze, Vintage Springtime designer paper; Ink- Not Quite Navy, Baja Breeze; Accessories- Very Vanilla seam binding ribbon, vintage trinkets, basic pearls, Framed Tulip embossing folder, word window punch, sponge (I sponged some Not Quite Navy along the bottom of the butterfly's wings), dimensionals

Card Patterns 107

Good morning, Friends! I hope you are all having a super weekend! Can you believe that we are already at the end of March? Where did all of that time go? Yesterday, Nick was a guest player for a 12 year old soccer team. He played with them when they went to Las Vegas for a tournament so when he was asked to guest play again he quickly said 'yes'! He really likes these boys and they make him and the other guest players feel so welcome and a part of their team. He played really well and they won 3-0! It looks like he will get more opportunities to play with them! Today, we will be going to a birthday party for my brother-in-law. That should be fun! We haven't seen them in a while. Did you notice my new blog header? How about my signature/divider? I have been reading some tutorials on how to do this. I make my designs in My Digital Studio and then work in the HTML to get them up. Anyway, it is an experiment for now until I get it just the way I want it.

Today's card was inspired by the sketch from Card Patterns Weekly Sketch Blog. It is actually last week's sketch but I really liked it! I just love this new Strength & Hope set. I also pulled out the Confetti Cream cardstock. I haven't used that cardstock in such a long time that it was kind of nice to use something different! Thank you so much for coming by and taking a look. Your comments are so wonderful to read! And I really do appreciate each and every one of them! Have a super day!

Card Recipe: Stamps- Strength & Hope; Paper- Confetti Cream, Not Quite Navy, Vintage Springtime designer paper; Ink- Baja Breeze, Not Quite Navy (I inked up the butterfly in Baja Breeze and then sponged some Not Quite Navy very lightly on the bottom part of the wings); Accessories- scallop trim border punch, basic pearls, sponge, dimensionals

ETA: I removed the signature for now. It was really bugging me that there was so much space in between the posts. I will keep trying and hopefully have it back up on another post! Thanks!

A Little Hope

Good Monday morning! And it is going to be a "Monday"! Nick is sooooo not wanting to wake up and go back to school. And I was soooo not wanting to wake up to get him up and ready for school. Ugh! But it is our last push til the end! I can't believe that he only has one more quarter of 5th grade! My baby is almost a middle schooler! Yikes! And to start my Monday off, I have a headache! Yuck! Since the wind is blowing 110 mph (exaggeration) my sinuses are acting up. I know it has to do with allergies, too. All that pollen blowing around. I have to get the laundry done today and go grocery shopping. Stuff that I put off. It's time to get back into the routine!

Today's card was inspired by one that I saw in a stamp magazine. I liked the one in the magazine and I guess mine turned out o.k. I had fun making it anyway. And I was happy to use colors other than my usual! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

TSSC 165

Good morning, Friends! Boy, did I sleep a little late this morning! But I just could not get myself to fall asleep last night! So, instead of tossing and turning in bed and waking my husband, I got up and played around on my iPad for a while. Then I tried again. But, I still had trouble falling asleep. I bet I only got six hours of sleep - and that includes sleeping in! I hope that I am not worthless today! I tend to feel like I have a hangover all day. I hate that feeling! Maybe the sun shining today will help!

Today's card was inspired by Mary Jo's Monday lunchtime sketch. It was another great sketch for this week so I just had to try and find time to play along. I got my color scheme from the Color Coach. As I was putting it together, I wasn't sure that I was going to like it. But I made myself finish. And, it isn't that bad! It made me get out of my "comfort zone". The colors used are Crumb Cake, Cajun Craze, Marina Mist and Old Olive. Well, thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Card Recipe: Stamps- Hope and Strength, Thank You Kindly; Paper- Crumb Cake, Cajun Craze, Old Olive, Very Vanilla, Neutrals designer paper; Ink- Marina Mist, Cajun Craze, Crumb Cake; Accessories- Very Vanilla seam binding ribbon, Marina Mist narrow taffeta ribbon, Tulip Frame embossing folder, 2 1/2" circle punch, scallop trim border punch, itty bitty punch pack, Little Leaves sizzlet, basic pearls, sponge, dimensionals

Fancy Fold

Good morning, Friends! I hope you are all enjoying your week so far! I know we are!! Nick gets to sleep to noon and then do whatever he wants. He's loving it!! And, thankfully, the weather has been beautiful! It is supposed to rain on Thursday but we will see. That usually changes. Anyway, it is nice to be able to relax.

Today's card is one that I saw come through on one of the stamping e-mail lists that I am on. And I just cannot remember who it was from. I really hate it when I do that! She had given instructions for how to make this card, too. I altered them to make it a standard 5 1/2" x 4 1/4" card but her instructions gave you the basic idea. I will have to do some research to see if I can remember who did it. Anyway, I thought it was a fun card! Different for me anyway. And it really is pretty easy. I am using a new set that will be available in the upcoming Summer mini catalog. This set is called Strength and Hope and for every purchase of this set, $2 will be donated to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. Breast cancer is a part of my family as my Aunt has had it twice and the second time she had to have a double mastectomy. There is also a beautiful digital download that goes with this set, complete with designer paper and embellishments and $2 will also be donated when purchased. Be sure to look for this beautiful set and digital download starting May 1 and let's help fight breast cancer!! O.k. I am off my soap box now :) Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!
