CCMC 243

Good morning, everyone!! I hope you are having a fabulous week! It's time for the Thursday challenge at Create with Connie and Mary! This week we are being challenged with a sketch. Take a look!

Isn't this just fabulous!!!! Love the clean and simple design! And, yes, Mary loves those square cards - lol! I rarely make square cards so I used the main idea of this sketch and added it to a regular card. And I think it turned out rather swell!

The images in the Lean on Me set are just the sweetest! And I can seriously use them for so many occasions! And they make the easiest cards, ever! So for this card I cut a piece of Marina Mist with the Scallop Squares Duo die and used the larger one. This was adhered to a card base of Naturals White. then I stamped the image from Lean on Me in black StazOn onto a piece of Naturals White and colored it in with a blender pen and markers. I colored the markers onto a stamp case and "lifted" the color using my blender pen. Worked perfectly! The colors I used were Basic Grey, Daffodil Delight, Marina Mist, Pacific Point, Lucky Limeade, Melon Mambo and a little Blush Blossom. This was adhered to a piece of Basic Grey and then popped up onto the scallop square. Then I adhered a strip of Sunshine and Sprinkles designer paper that has the end flagged. Finally I added a button from the Brights Collection with some white baker's twine tied through it.

Be sure to check out the Create with Connie and Mary website for more wonderful inspiration using this fabulous sketch! I hope you will play along with us this week! We always love to see what you do with our challenges! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Good morning, Friends! I hope your week is off to a splendid start! Nick had a dentist appointment yesterday after school and needless to say he was less than thrilled! But it all turned out great and he is good for another six months! I wish I was so lucky when I was his age!

Today's card was inspired by the sketch at Pals Paper Arts. It's been quite a while since I played with one of their challenges. This sketch was calling out to me but I did have a hard time with what I wanted to do. Of course I was trying to use the new Perfectly Preserved set but I also wanted to try to use some of my other stamps. So, I finally narrowed it down to this one; Lean on Me. This set will make you a very quick and easy card and they always turn out cute because this set is just so adorable!! Anyway, I attached some strips of Twitterpated designer paper to a Whisper White panel and popped this up onto a card base of Whisper White. Then I stamped the image from Lean on Me in black StazOn onto a Whisper White panel and colored it in with inks and a blender pen. I adhered this to a piece of Basic Grey and then popped it up onto the card. Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Good Friday morning everyone! I can't believe how fast this week went by! Sketch Frenzy Friday has a new sketch for everyone to try! This week's sketch was created by Sharon Wheet. Take a look at this fun sketch!

So simple with fun shapes! I love it!! Here is what I did with it.

I kept it really simple, too! I just love these images from Lean on Me! They make the quickest and easiest cards! And they are so cute!! I cut a piece of Basic Grey with the Labels framelits die and adhered it to a panel of Whisper White that is popped up onto a card base of Whisper White. Then I took a strip of Twitterpated designer paper and flagged one end before adhering it to the card. Then I stamped the image onto a piece of Whisper White in black StazOn and colored it in with a blender pen and various inks. This is popped up onto the label and then added a Basic Grey button with some white baker's twine. Easy!!

CPS 275

Good morning, Friends! I hope your week got off to a great start! I ended up wasting the day yesterday. I did get two loads of laundry done but that was it. I need to focus a little better today. I do have a hair appointment this morning and then I need to make a stop at the quilt shop. I have two discounts left on my card that I have to spend today or lose them. Yesterday, while Nick was at soccer practice, I made a quick stop at Joann's and got some yarn and a crochet hook to try my hand at that. Geesh! What is up with me? I hope I can get it mastered as I do have a very cute little blanket that I would like to make that incorporates charm squares and crocheting!

Today's card was inspired by an older sketch at CPS. Another very simple one. And this stamp set is perfect for those clean and simple cards! I took a piece of Summer Starfruit to the Big Shot and ran it through with the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder. This is adhered to a piece of Elegant Eggplant and then popped up onto a card base of Baja Breeze. Then I stamped the image from Lean on Me in black StazOn onto a piece of Whisper White. I rounded the four corners with the corner rounder and watercolored the image with a blender pen and Summer Starfruit, Baja Breeze, Blush Blossom and Crumb Cake. Behind this panel I added a piece of Elegant Eggplant that has two end corners rounded. I punched holes for three silver brads and the popped this up onto the card. Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Good morning, Friends! I hope your week is going super! My son and I are headed to a baseball tournament later today. The tournament will be tomorrow and Saturday. Sure hope the team does well! Should be fun! It's also time for another great challenge from Create with Connie and Mary! This week we are being challenged with the following sketch:

Such a fun, clean and simple sketch! I love it!!! At the time I did these challenges I did not have my new products so I am using current product - just not brand new. Stay tuned, though! I have been playing!!! Here's what I did come up with:

I really dearly love this set, Lean on Me. It makes the cutest and most super easy cards ever! I do love how this turned out! I punched a 2 1/2" circle from Whisper White and stamped the image from Lean on Me in black StazOn. Then I watercolored it with Island Indigo, Daffodil Delight and a little Blush Blossom inks and my blender pen. I adhered this to a scallop circle of Island Indigo that was die cut with the Perfect Pennants die. I ran a piece of Whisper White through the Big Shot with the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder. I added a strip of designer paper from the Summer Smooches collection that has one end flagged. I popped up my scallop circle panel and then added a butterfly that was cut from Daffodil Delight with the Beautiful Wings embosslit and a brad. Then this panel is popped up onto a card base of Whisper White.

Be sure to stop by the Create with Connie and Mary website to see what the other designers did with this sketch. And while you are there, why not sign up for the Create New Catalog Edition 2012? You will certainly love all the ideas you get for your subscription! And they are offering early bird pricing!!! Don't miss out! FTL 190

Good morning everyone! I hope you're ready for a super weekend! We are having pinch ourselves because we actually have a totally FREE weekend! No sports (well, except maybe a practice on Sunday afternoon), and no where we have to be!!! I think we are going to spend a lot of time trying to get some things accomplished around the house! We even got to sleep in a little! That is why I am later in posting. That and I had to take the photos of the cards I made yesterday and edit them. The card I wanted to show today was not very photogenic. Ugh! So I am going to try again later and see if I can get a better picture of it.

Today's card was inspired by the sketch at Clean&Simple. I just love the look of a good clean and simple card! And I have been using lots of white lately! In fact I need to order more - lol! Again, I thought I had better use up some of the paper that will be retiring at the end of this month. I pulled out the Flirtatious designer paper pack for this one. I took a strip of it and flagged one end. This is adhered to a piece of Whisper White card stock that was run through the Big Shot with the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder and then the panel is popped up onto a card base of Whisper White. Then I punched a 2 1/2" circle from Whisper White and stamped the image from Lean on Me in black StazOn. I carefully water colored her with Pretty in Pink, Daffodil Delight and Blush Blossom inks and a blender pen. This is adhered to a scallop circle that was cut from Pink Pirouette card stock using the Perfect Pennants die. I popped this up onto the card. Very simple! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

SSSC 156

Good morning, Friends! I hope your week is going by just super! Nick had a baseball game last night and while they lost, I thought they played pretty good! They were hitting and getting around the bases and their defense was on target, too. But then we just kind of stalled. While our defense was still strong, the bats just weren't connecting and the other team hit quite a few out of the park home runs. Kind of reminded me of the way the Rockies have been playing lately - lol! It was fun and I am excited to watch a little baseball!

Today's card was inspired by a sketch from Karen Giron. This is one of her older sketches. I did leave off a few elements but this is what worked for me. I flagged three strips of designer paper from the Pocketful of Posies pack and adhered them to a piece of Soft Suede designer paper that is adhered to a piece of Soft Suede card stock. This panel is popped up onto a card base of Crumb Cake. For my tag, I cut a piece of Naturals White card stock and put the top end into the 2 1/2" circle punch to round the top. I stamped the image from Lean on Me in black StazOn and used my blender pens and ink pads to watercolor the image. Then I added some Crumb Cake seam binding ribbon to the back and a button with some white baker's twine to the front. I popped this up onto the card. Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

CCMC 197

Good morning everyone! I'm here with the newest challenge from the super talented ladies at Create with Connie and Mary! I hope you will play along with us this week! This week we are being challenged with color. Take a look at these fabulous colors!

Concord Crush is a color that I haven't used much and we only have until May 31st to use it! That's right! The first set of In Colors (Poppy Parade, Concord Crush, Blushing Bride, Pear Pizzazz, and Peach Parfait) will be retiring at the end of May! So I was glad to be able to use some Concord Crush. Here is what I came up with.

I found an older sketch to use with the challenge colors. I started with a card base of Confetti White and added a strip of Marina Mist that went through the Big Shot with the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder. Then I took a square piece of Certainly Celery and rounded the four corners before cutting it in half. I popped this up onto the card base. Then I stamped the image from Lean on Me in black StazOn onto a 2 1/2" circle punched from Confetti White and colored it in using a blender pen and Marina Mist, Certainly Celery and Concord Crush inks. I adhered this to a scallop circle that was die cut using the Perfect Pennants die and Concord Crush card stock. I added three mini brads and popped it up onto the card.

I do hope you will check out all the other design team member's creations! You can find them at the Create with Connie and Mary website. Don't forget to upload your creations to the website so that we can all take a look! We love to see what you come up with! And don't forget to use your Stampin' Up! supplies! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Upscale RS 2

Good Monday morning everyone! Time to get back to the regularly scheduled week of school, work, and practices (and a few appointments in between). We had a very fun weekend! I need to get some laundry done, grocery shopping and some stamping done, too. It's going to be hard to focus as a new wool appliqué project just came in the mail!! And then tonight is the NCAA championship game!!! Go Jayhawks!!

Today's card is one that I did for a recent swap I participated in. I used an older sketch from Retro Sketches. A very simple layout and a simple card! I got the colors from the color coach and used the Lean on Me stamp set. I stamped the image in black StazOn onto Confetti White card stock and colored it in with ink pads and a blender pen. I used Lucky Limeade, Daffodil Delight, Island Indigo and a little Blush Blossom. I added three mini brads to complete this panel. This is popped up onto a panel that consists of a layer of Island Indigo, Confetti White and a strip of Island Indigo designer paper that was flagged at one end. And this all was popped up onto the card base of Confetti White. Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

FMS 26

Good morning, Friends! This is the last morning that we can sleep in. Well, except for the weekends. School starts back up tomorrow and it will be the countdown to summer break. Wow!! Time sure does fly, doesn't it! Nick has had a busy schedule and I am ready for him to get back to school so I can get some things done - lol! Last night it snowed. Ugh! So it is really cold today but the rest of the week should warm up nicely!

Today's card was inspired from the sketch challenge at Freshly Made Sketches. A very simple sketch! Love these! This one came together very easily, too! My card base is Lucky Limeade. Then I took another piece of Lucky Limeade to the Big Shot and ran it through with the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder. On top of this I added a piece of designer paper from the Summer Smooches pack and then tied a piece of Lucky Limeade ribbon from the Everyday Enchantment ribbon and brad pack. This panel is popped up onto the card. Then I punched a circle from Whisper White using the 2 1/2" circle punch. I stamped the image and greeting from Lean on Me in black StazOn. I used a blender pen and Lucky Limeade, Daffodil Delight, Rich Razzleberry and Blush Blossom to color in the girl. The circle is popped up onto the card. I added a few rhinestones to finish it off. Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

FMS 24 and PPA 130

Good morning, Friends! We made it back safely yesterday afternoon. The roads were perfect and the day was most beautiful! Looks to be another beautiful day around here, too! Now it's back to reality. Laundry needs to be done. I need to go to the grocery store. Nick has practice. I need to spend some time in my craft room... You can see which one will take priority - lol!

Today's card was inspired by two challenges. Freshly Made had a sketch that was nice and clean and simple. The other challenge it the Pals Paper Arts color challenge. I thought that both challenges came together nicely on my card. And the Lean on Me stamp set is perfect for a clean and simple card! I started with a piece of Always Artichoke and added a piece of Lucky Limeade striped designer paper. On top of that I added a strip of Chocolate Chip card stock that was flagged on both ends. Then I popped this whole panel up onto a card base of Whisper White. I stamped the image from Lean on Me in black StazOn onto a piece of Whisper White. I colored in the image with a blender pen using Always Artichoke, Lucky Limeade and Chocolate Chip inks. I adhered this to a piece of Always Artichoke and then added two brads. This panel is popped up onto the card. Done! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

CCMC 177

Good morning everyone! And HAPPY THANKSGIVING! I hope you enjoy your day with family and/or friends! We are enjoying the day with family in Kansas! Nick had the whole week off so we left last Saturday and will be going back home to Colorado on Saturday. But today is the Thursday Create with Connie and Mary challenge. I wasn't able to get my design team card done before I left so I threw a few stamp supplies (and I mean a FEW) together and figured I would make the card at my mom's. This week's challenge is a color challenge. Take a look!

The challenge colors are Night of Navy, Lucky Limeade and River Rock. Don't they look wonderful together?! Here is what I came up with (with my limited supplies):

I brought my Lean on Me stamp set because it makes very easy cards and the images are so cute! For this card I used a sketch from the Clean&Simple blog (the sketch used an circle and I made mine a square). My card base is Lucky Limeade with a piece of Lucky Limeade striped dsp on top. The focal point is the stamp stamped in black StazOn on Whisper White. I also stamped the boy image again on scrap paper and cut him out after coloring him with my aqua painter. Then I cut a strip of River Rock and flagged the ends. This was glued to the Whisper White piece and then glued to a Night of Navy piece and then I put two gold brads in. I popped up this panel onto the card and after cutting the little boy out, I popped him up right over the original boy image. Done!!

Please be sure to check out the rest of the design team and their wonderful creations at the Create with Connie and Mary site! I hope you will be able to find some time this next week to play along with us and show off your wonderful creations! I know we all love to see what you come up with! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Easy Layout

Good morning, Friends! It's Monday again! And the last week of September! Where did this month go? We made it back from Denver late yesterday afternoon. It was nice to have a few hours at home before having to go to bed. That was our last trip to Denver for this season! Next weekend we have a tournament in Vail (a little closer). But the colors of the trees are SO beautiful! I wished I had brought my camera for some pictures. Hopefully they will be as brilliant next weekend, too! So the boys lost their game on Sunday. It was a tough game. They did play hard and fought to the end.

Today's card was inspired by a layout from a recent magazine that I purchased. I love this layout! SO easy!! And it works so well for these stamps! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

LNS Challenge 138

Good morning, Friends! It was so wonderful to be able to sleep in this morning! And what a perfect day to do that! It is raining and gloomy outside. I think I need to go get a cup of coffee while I type this... Ahhh! That's better! Nick is supposed to have a soccer game later this afternoon so we will see if that is going to happen. This past Wednesday it rained during his practice. And the kids got soaked!! Nick got in the car and was so hyped up! He loves playing soccer in the rain!

So my card today is another very simple one. I am using the same set again! There are four stamps in this set and I should have used the image of the girl with the umbrella! It would have been perfectly suited for our day here! Oh well. I'm sure you will get to see her someday soon - lol! I actually got this card layout from the catalog (sorry, I can't remember what page). This card was also made for the challenge at LNS that was to use the new In Colors. Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!!

Card Recipe: Stamps- Lean on Me; Paper- Lucky Limeade, Island Indigo, Daffodil Delight, Confetti White, In Color designer paper stack; Ink- black StazOn, Lucky Limeade, Island Indigo, Daffodil Delight, Blush Blossom; Accessories- silver brads, dotted scallop ribbon punch, aqua painter, dimensionals

SFF 091611

Good Friday morning everyone!! It's a great day to do a challenge! Sketch Frenzy Friday has a super fun sketch challenge! This week's sketch is brought to us by Tammy Fite. Take a look:

So many wonderful possibilities for this one! But here is what I finally came up with:

I just had to use a new set of mine, Lean on Me. I love the sentiments in the set and I love the cute little kiddos! This set makes the easiest cards - ever! There isn't a whole lot of detailed coloring on these stamps. Love them!! And because the images are so simple, I decided to keep my card very simple as well. So I started with a card base of Confetti Cream and then cut another piece of Confetti Cream a little smaller and ran it through the Big Shot with the Stripes embossing folder. I glued this to the card base. For the focal point I stamped the image in black StazOn on a piece of Confetti Cream. I used Not Quite Navy, More Mustard, Crumb Cake, and a little Blush Blossom to water color the image with my aqua painter. Then I took a piece of Not Quite Navy card stock and cut an oval with the ovals die. The image piece is glued to the oval and then popped up on the card. Since I already had my sentiment stamped as part of the focal point, I used three gold brads to finish it off (these were actually put on the striped piece before it was glued down - can't have those brad "butts" poking out the back).

Now it is time for you to move along the tour to see what Jennifer has come up with this fabulous sketch! So click 'here' to move to her blog. Keep clicking through the tour to get inspired and then make your own project to upload to the Sketch Frenzy Friday site so that we can all see! I always love to see what you come up with! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Simply Lean on Me

Good morning, Friends! This week seems to be flying by like all the rest! As the week goes on, it gets harder for me to wake up so early! So you can imagine how hard it is for Nick to get up! So why won't he go to bed earlier?

I got an order yesterday that had some new stamps for me to play with. I just had to get this set, Lean on Me. Just a simple set with really sweet sayings and the cutest kiddos!! Love them! They are so easy to watercolor! So I pulled that one out and made a very quick and simple card for today. I am going to visit a friend today so I think I will be giving it to her. Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Card Recipe: Stamps- Lean on Me; Paper- Confetti White, Chocolate Chip; Ink- black StazOn, Pool Party, So Saffron, Not Quite Navy, Chocolate Chip, Wild Wasabi; Accessories- Chocolate Chip scallop polka dot ribbon, metallic brads, 2 1/2" circle punch, aqua painter, dimensionals
