Control Freaks Blog Tour: Time to Celebrate

Hello everyone! Welcome to the Control Freaks Blog Tour! We are so excited to inspire you with our ideas with the theme of Celebrations! I am your stop after the talented Patty Bennett! Please note that if you are viewing this before the 20th, all the links may not be working. Be sure to stop by again on the 20th when everything should be in working order! Now on to my projects...

For my first project I used the Cheerful Critters stamp set. I just think these little guys are the cutest! And you can put any small sentiment inside the signs! I love it! I thought that this little guy would be great for a young boy's birthday or achievement! I used the Sweet Sunday Sketch to help me with the layout.

  • Card base is Whisper white
  • Run a piece of Lost Lagoon card stock through the Big Shot using the Lucky Stars embossing folder and adhere to card
  • On a piece of Whisper White stamp the image from Cheerful Critters using Tuxedo black Momento ink and stamp the sentiment inside the sign
  • Color the bear using Crumb Cake and a blender pen and his shirt using Lost Lagoon and Pear Pizzazz markers
  • Cut a strip of Pear Pizzazz card stock and use the fringe scissors to fringe the end then adhere to the stamped panel
  • Tie a piece of linen thread around the panel and then tie a button gold basic metal button on
  • Adhere the panel to the card with dimensionals
For my next card I went a little more sophisticated. I love sunflowers. So I wanted to try to recreate a sunflower since I don't have any sunflower stamps. I found an idea where someone had layered the stamps from the Petal Potpourri stamp set and a light bulb went off (trust me, it doesn't happen often - lol)! I love how this turned out!

  • Card base is Crumb Cake
  • On another piece of Crumb Cake stamp the sentiment from Because You Care stamp set using Early Espresso ink
  • Adhere the panel to a piece of Early Espresso card stock and then adhere to the card base using dimensionals
  • Stamp the butterflies stamp from the Perpetual Calendar stamp set onto the card base using Crumb Cake ink
  • Stamp the solid flower image from the Petal Potpourri stamp set onto a piece of Whisper White card stock using So Saffron ink then stamp the lined image right over the top using Hello Honey ink (note: it is most helpful to use a Stamp-a-ma-jig)
  • Punch the flower out using the Flower Medallion punch
  • Stamp the flower center onto a piece of Whisper White using Early Espresso ink and punch out with the 7/8" scallop circle punch then adhere to flower with dimensionals
  • Cut the leaves from Mossy Meadow card stock using the Flower Fair framelits and adhere to the back of the flower
  • Adhere flower to the card
  • Thread a piece of linen thread through a gold basic metal button and tie a bow then adhere to flower center
I hope you have gained some inspiration! I now send you on to the fabulous Wendy Weixler to see her beautiful creations! Thank you so much for stopping by and have a super day!

Good morning, Friends! Very nice to have a shorter week this week! One day back and I am already tired - lol! I get my hair cut but then I can come home and relax a bit. Thankfully it will be a fairly quiet week!

Today's card was the last one we did at my stamp club this month. Super quick and easy!

  • Card base is Whisper White
  • Adhere a strip of Birthday Bash designer paper to last side of the card
  • Stamp the greeting from the Simply Wonderful stamp set onto a piece of Bermuda Bay using Bermuda Bay ink then adhere to the card using dimensionals
  • Stamp the flower from Petal Potpourri onto a piece of Whisper White using Calypso Coral ink and punch out using the Flower Medallion punch
  • Punch another flower from Mossy Meadow card stock using the Flower Medallion punch and cut two petals from it to use as leaves
  • Adhere the leaves to the back of the flower and then adhere to card with dimensionals
  • Thread a piece of Whisper White Painted Blooms cotton twine through a Crushed Curry button (from the Best Year Ever accessory pack) and tie a bow then adhere to the flower center

Friendly Medallion

Hello everyone! I am so glad the weekend is here! Woohoo! It looks like my guys are on their way home so my quiet weekend will be cut a little short but it will be good to see my guys, too. I plan to use my time to be creative (I hope).

Today's card was inspired by one that is in the new Occasions mini catalog. I wanted something quick and easy and this fit the bill!

  • Card base is Soft Sky
  • Take a piece of Whisper White card stock and use the Spiral Border punch to punch the top of the panel
  • Stamp the sentiment from Simply Wonderful onto the panel using Blackberry Bliss ink and stamp the splatter stamp from Gorgeous Grunge using Soft Sky ink then adhere the panel to the card with dimensionals
  • Stamp the flower image from Petal Potpourri onto a piece of Whisper White using Blackberry Bliss and punch out using the Flower Medallion punch
  • Cut the leaves from Wild Wasabi card stock using the Flower Fair framelits and adhere to the back of the stamped flower then adhere flower to card with dimensionals
  • Thread a piece of Soft Sky Painted Blooms Cotton Twine through a gold basic metal button and tie a bow then adhere to flower center
Have you checked out the super awesome project from Connie and the Create with Connie and Mary site? She is offering a free tutorial and blog candy!! While you're there why not sign up for the Spring Collection! Today is the last day for Early Bird pricing! Don't miss out! You won't be disappointed! I hope to see you there! Friendly Flower

Good morning, Friends! It is nice to be home! It is really cold outside and I am getting ready to enjoy some yummy coffee!! Nice to know that I have a few days off as I need to get some things done around here.

Today's card was inspired by a sketch but I can't remember which one. And I am sure that it is completely different than what it was supposed to be - lol! This is pretty simple and I just love the colors from the Best Year Ever designer paper!

  • Card base is Coastal Cabana
  • Use the Large Scallop edgelit to scallop the top of a piece of the Best Year Ever designer paper and adhere to card
  • Adhere a strip of Calypso Coral card stock to card
  • Stamp the flower from Petal Potpourri onto a piece of Whisper White using Crushed Curry ink and punch out using the Flower Medallion punch
  • Use the paper snips to make a cut into each petal and then adhere to card with dimensionals
  • Stamp the smaller center image onto a piece of Whisper White and cut out then adhere to flower center
  • Thread a piece of linen thread through a Coastal Cabana button from the Best Year Ever accessory pack and tie a bow then adhere to flower center
  • Stamp the greeting from Simply Wonderful onto the card using Tuxedo black Momento ink
Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!
