PPA 218

Good morning, Friends! Well, Monday came and went and I lived to tell about it - lol! I survived so now it's time to get through the rest of the week. I can do this! I think I am a little more caught up and will be able to feel a little more organized this week. It rained yesterday and last night and is supposed to rain some more. Wow! We usually don't get this much rain but it sure is nice! I'm loving the cooler weather!

Today's card was inspired by the sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch and the color palette at Pals Paper Arts. So I pulled out the beautiful Four Feathers stamp set and got to work!

  • Card base is Hello Honey
  • Cut a piece of Blackberry Bliss the shape you want it and use the Feathers framelits to cut the feather shapes
  • Stamp the two feather images onto Hello Honey card stock using Hello Honey ink and cut out using the Feathers framelits
  • Adhere the feathers to the card base using the Blackberry Bliss panel as a placement guide
  • Adhere the Blackberry Bliss panel to the card with dimensionals
  • Stamp the greeting from Four You onto a strip of Crumb Cake using Blackberry Bliss ink and flag the end
  • Tie a piece of linen thread through a gold basic metal button and where to card
Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Hello Bloom

Hello everyone and Happy 4th to all my US friends!! Nick and I made it safely to the states on Wednesday and my husband met as in Denver and drove us to Kansas to celebrate the 4th with my family. Nothing beats Kansas fireworks! And Nick is having a super time! I, however, got sick. Ugh!! I have a super big time head cold. Yuck! I just hope I can enjoy the evening with my extended family. I've been sleeping a lot and taking medicine so we will see... Looks like I am back to posting live again!!

Today's card was inspired by one that the Stampin' Up! crew had done a while ago with a different flower. I just love this flower and thought I would be able to substitute it and I think it turned out great!

  • Card base is Night of Navy
  • On a piece of Whisper White, stamp the flower from Blended Bloom using Tuxedo Black Momento ink and color in with Blendabilities: Daffodil Delight and Mocha
  • Stamp the splotches from Gorgeous Grunge with Daffodil Delight and Night of Navy (the Night of Navy splotches were stamped off before stamping onto the card stock)
  • Adhere stamped panel to card base
  • Stamp the greeting from Four You onto a strip of Night of Navy using the VersaMark pad and emboss with white emboss powder
  • Flag the end of the embossed strip and flag the end of a strip of Old Olive and adhere together
  • Tie a piece of linen thread through a Hardware Essentials clip and clip to the greeting then adhere to card with dimensionals
There you have it! Thanks for stopping by and have a fabulous day!!

Soft Sky, Sahara Sand and Basic Grey are the colors that we are to work with this week! I love all three of these colors but never would have thought to put them together! I was so excited to put something together with them but came up blank. So I started searching through some cards I had pinned on Pinterest and got some ideas that I could put to use. This is what emerged!

I love how this turned out! And it is really simple!

  • Card base is Whisper White
  • On a layer of Whisper White, stamp the splatter images from Gorgeous Grunge in Basic Grey and Soft Sky and then stamp the lines image in Sahara Sand
  • Use the Word Bubbles framelits to cut two shapes from Sahara Sand and Basic Grey

Stamp Review Crew: By the Tide

Hello everyone! It's that time again for another fabulous blog hop from the Stamp Review Crew! This time we are featuring the stamp set, By the Tide. You may have just hopped from Dawn's blog! But if you are just starting out here then you can still see all the great projects by clicking the links below! If you get lost or there are broken links, you can click the link at the top of this post to take you to the main blog and there will be a list of all the blog hop participants. Be ready to get some really fabulous ideas from this great stamp set!

I made a very super simple card using this set. I wanted to keep it masculine and nautical. Not being a nautical person I went to the High Tide designer series papers to see what colors were used in that paper. And that's where I started! Then I found a super simple sketch from Freshly Made Sketches. And here's what emerged!

I really like how it turned out even though it is very simple! And I think it would work perfectly for Father's Day, too! Here are the details:
  • Card base is Smoky Slate
  • Use the Circles framelits to cut a circle from Soft Sky card stock then cut off part of it to make it flat
  • Stamp the plant image from By the Tide in Soft Sky onto the flattened circle and sponge the edges with Soft Sky ink then adhere to card
  • Flag one end of a strip of Summer Starfruit and stamp the greeting from Four You in Pacific Point then adhere to card
  • Stamp lobster image in Calypso Coral onto Whisper White and cut out then adhere to card with dimensionals
  • Thread a piece of linen thread through a Basic Metal button and adhere to card
There you have it! Thanks for stopping by! Now to go and see what Nancy has done! Have fun hopping!

A Basic Hello

Good morning, Friends! I have pre-posted this as we will be leaving early this morning and I wasn't sure that I would have had time to get a post up. And I didn't want to wait! I am trying to keep my stamping and posting going on a regular basis again. And I think I am doing pretty good - lol! What a great time we had! Nick has another week off of school so we will be enjoying some nice quiet and relaxing time at home. Need to get some things done, too. And I think Nick will be ready to see some of his buddies!

Gingham Garden Birthday

Good morning, Friends! I can't believe how fast time seems to be going at the moment! I really need it to slow down so I can catch up - lol! I did manage to get a few things done yesterday but not nearly what I had planned. And yesterday was my only "free" day. So I hope I can manage my time a little better these next few days. My son has basketball tryouts tonight and we are hoping he does well! Good luck Nick! I am looking forward to Becky's Christmas card class party tonight! Always a fun event!

Today's card was one that I did with my stamp club this month. I tried to keep away from doing Christmas cards and focus on more generic type cards. I thought a simple birthday card would work! Here are the details:

  • Card base is Whisper White with lower left hand corner punched with 1" circle punch
  • Layer of Whisper White
  • Adhere a piece of Gingham Garden designer paper onto Whisper White layer and use the 1" circle punch to punch the lower left hand corner
  • Stamp greeting from Four You in Island Indigo
  • Tie a piece of Daffodil Delight seam binding ribbon around panel and pop up onto card
  • Use the itty bitty shapes punch pack to punch a flower from Island Indigo and adhere to card
  • Add a Daffodil Delight candy dot to flower center

Wonderfall Pie

Good morning, Friends! I think morning came a little too early for me! I do wish I were still sleeping - lol! But there is lots to do today so I had better get busy! Nick's basketball team won their game last night and that makes them undefeated! I know there will be a team coming up next week that will be really tough! Soccer is over for now with just a few practices here and there to get ready for a tournament this winter. And I do know he wants to do indoor soccer. Still lots to keep him busy - lol!

I wanted to make a fall card for today's post. I am trying to get some made before it's really over. At the school where the game was played yesterday, they had a big tree with leaves that were red, yellow and green! It was so beautiful! While there were leaves still on the tree, there were quite a few on the ground, too! Now that's a true fall picture! Here are the details on the card:

  • Card base is Naturals white
  • Layer of Naturals white with a layer of Sweater Weather adhered to the bottom portion then all four corners of layer were rounded with the 3/4" circle punch
  • Stamp splatters and splotches from Gorgeous Grunge onto layer using Smoky Slate
  • Tie a piece of Smoky Slate 3/4" chevron ribbon around panel
  • Stamp greeting from Four You in Coastal Cabana then pop up onto card
  • Stamp leaf from Wonderfall in Pumpkin Pie onto Naturals white and cut out
  • Add some splatters from Gorgeous Grunge using Smoky Slate then adhere to card using dimensionals
I found these colors from the Color Coach and thought they sounded interesting. And they stamp a little differently using the Naturals white card stock.

The Create with Connie and Mary Winter Collection is going on right now! My project was shown yesterday! But the only way to see it is to be a subscriber! It's not too late to sign up and join. You will still get to see ALL the projects shown so far and get the downloadable tutorials! You will get SO many great ideas and just in time for the holidays! Be sure to check it out! Thanks for stopping by and have a fabulous day!

His team won their basketball game yesterday and they have one today! So far they are undefeated! I need to keep myself focused today and get some cards made. And I hope to get some sewing done as well. I'm working on a quilt for Nick and would like it to be done for Christmas. We will see about that...

Today's card was inspired by the sketch at CAS(E) This Sketch. Super simple and very clean. I wasn't sure about adding the ribbon but there was a spot on my card stock and I didn't want to start over so I added the ribbon to cover it up. I do think I like it! Here are the details:

  • Stamp greeting from Four You in Smoky Slate
  • Use the Essentials paper piercing pack to pierce a series of circles in the background

CCMCFALL 13-03

Good morning, Friends! Today marks the end of another fabulous week of special creations from the Create with Connie and Mary Fall Collection! At the end of each week Connie and Mary post a fun challenge. This week they have come up with a beautiful color challenge. Take a look!

Soft Sky, Crushed Curry and Chocolate Chip. These are colors that are found in the new Sweater Weather designer paper in the Holiday mini catalog. Here's how I put them together.

I was looking to do something other than leaves for this card. And I really love sunflowers! So I set about to try and create a sunflower. Here are the details:

  • Card base is Whisper White
  • A Chocolate Chip strip was run through the Big Shot using the Tasteful Trim die and then adhered to the back of a piece of Sweater Weather designer paper
  • Stamp greeting from Four You in Chocolate Chip
  • Pop panel up onto card
  • Stamp flower image from Mixed Bunch twice onto Whisper White using Crushed Curry ink
  • Cut flowers out by hand and then snip each petal
  • Layer flowers together
  • Fold a piece of 7/16" Natural Trim in half and adhere to card then adhere flowers to card with dimensionals
  • Stamp flower center in Chocolate Chip ink onto Whisper White, cut out and adhere to flower
  • Thread some linen thread through a Naturals button and tie a bow then adhere to flower center
Be sure to visit the Create with Connie and Mary website to see all the other fabulous creations!
