Freshly Made 152

Good morning, Friends! Wow! What a crazy busy weekend! And now we have to get up and get ourselves ready for another week. Not fair - lol! We all could use a nice relaxing day but I guess we will get over it and get to work! Nick had his first mountain bike race yesterday! He did great! He rode almost 10 miles in just over an hour and most of it was a grueling uphill! Our of 70 riders, he came in 39th. It was really exciting! He has another one in two weeks! And this week we get to watch him in his first JV soccer game! Can't wait!!

Today's card was inspired by the sketch at Freshly Made.  I was in the mood to use some blendabilities.

  • Card base is Whisper White
  • Cut the edge of a strip of Pumpkin Pie with the Large Scallop edgelit then adhere to card base
  • Adhere a strip of Daffodil Delight to card
  • Stamp the greeting from Bloom With Hope onto a piece of Whisper White using Tuxedo Black Momento ink then stamp the flower image
  • Color the flower with Blendabilities: Skin Tone Assortment, Pumpkin Pie and Daffodil Delight
  • Use the Project Life corner rounder to round the bottom left corner and adhere panel to a piece of Chocolate Chip then adhere to card with dimensionals
  • Add two Pumpkin Pie candy dots to card
Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Good morning, Friends! I hope your weekend is going super! This officially marks the last Sunday of summer vacation! Next Sunday all the students will be thinking of school the next day. How is that possible?? We will be heading up to the ranch in a few hours. It was fun yesterday and Nick is having a blast with his cousins! Riding four wheelers, driving the jeep and he has been getting ride is motorcycle a bunch! I'm glad. Nice to get some fun in before the summer ends!

For today's very simple card, I went monochromatic. Love the way Pear Pizzazz and Mossy Meadow look together!

  • Card base is Whisper White
  • On a strip of Pear Pizzazz, stamp the leaf image from Bloom with Hope in Pear Pizzazz
  • Adhere stamped panel to a piece of Whisper White

TSSC 324

Good morning, Friends! We are half way through another week! Wow! Today I register Nick for his freshman year! Now how did that happen??? It's just so wild to think about! He also has another doctor's appointment today. So it seems like it will be busy today!

Today's card was inspired by the sketch at Techno Stamper. I was also inspired by the colors from the All Abloom designer paper. But instead of Daffodil Delight, I used Hello Honey.

  • Card base is Pistachio Pudding
  • Run a piece of Mossy Meadow through the Big Shot using the Honeycomb embossing folder
  • Cut a circle from Whisper White using the Circle framelits
  • Stamp the stem from Bloom with Hope onto the circle using black StazOn and color it with Mossy Meadow ink and a blender pen
  • Stamp the flower onto another piece of Whisper White using black StazOn and color it with Blushing Bride and Hello Honey inks and a blender pen (after coloring it in I went back and added some more color with the Blushing Bride marker)
  • Cut out flower and adhere to circle with dimensionals
  • Stamp greeting onto Hello Honey card stock using black StazOn and punch out with the small oval punch then adhere to circle
  • Adhere circle to embossed panel and tie a piece of 1/4" Blushing Bride cotton ribbon around it then adhere to card with dimensionals
Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Lost Lagoon of Hope

Good morning, Friends! I hope you are all ready for a great weekend! I know I am! I surely do hope I start getting some great news! And yesterday was a start!! My friend Becky is finally out of the hospital!! Here is for a speedy recovery period so that she can finally come home! We miss you, Becky!! Yesterday I had a massage. On the way there and then especially on the way home I heard a weird noise on the car. By the time I got home the car would not move. Oh great! Had to call a tow truck so we are waiting to hear what that all means. But it doesn't sound good. There was another incident that happened yesterday, too, but I won't bore you all with those details. The day started out great! I got my box of new Stampin' Up! goodies!! But after all this yucky stuff, I just didn't have the energy to go and use it. :( Today I am doing a fun sewing class and I get to see my friend, Sherry! Woohoo!! So maybe this weekend? Well, I will have to do some stamping - lol! Gotta get caught up before I leave!

Today's card was one I did for a recent swap I was in. I think it's been mailed out even though I haven't gotten mine yet.

  • Card base is Sahara Sand
  • On a layer of Sahara Sand, stamp the Hardwood background stamp in Sahara Sand
  • Adhere a strip of Mossy Meadow that has the ends trimmed at an angle then adhere panel to card with dimensionals
  • Use the scallop edge border punch to scallop the edge of a piece of Whisper White and round the corner with the corner rounder
  • Stamp the flower image and the words from Bloom with Hope using black StazOn
  • Color the image in with a blender pen and Lost Lagoon and Mossy Meadow inks
  • Stamp the splatter stamp from Gorgeous Grunge using Sahara Sand making sure to stamp off before stamping onto the card stock
  • Adhere a piece of Lost Lagoon stitched satin ribbon to the card

CCMC 306

Good morning, Friends! It's time for the Thursday challenge at Create with Connie and Mary! This week we have a fabulous color challenge! Take a look!

Perfect Plum, Coastal Cabana and Wild Wasabi are the given colors! I have to admit that I don't use Perfect Plum as much as I should. It's a fabulous color! And I never would have thought to pair it with Coastal Cabana but I love the look!

I kept the card pretty simple.

  • Card base is Naturals White
  • Adhere a piece of Perfect Plum to the card base with dimensionals
  • Stamp the flower image from Bloom with Hope in black StazOn onto a piece of Naturals White and then use the circle framelits to cut it out
  • Color the flower image with a blender pen using Perfect Plum and Wild Wasabi inks then sponge the edges with Coastal Cabana ink
  • Adhere the stamped circle to card with dimensionals
  • Stamp the greeting in black StazOn onto a strip of Wild Wasabi and flag both ends then adhere to card
  • Use the itty bitty accents punches to punch a flower from Coastal Cabana card stock and adhere to card
  • Add rhinestones to flower centers
Be sure to see what the other designers did with these colors at the Create with Connie and Mary website! So many fantastic ideas and great inspiration! And be sure to check out the Early Bird pricing for the Create with Connie and Mary Summer Edition 2014! The new catalog has gone live and we are gearing up for a great special edition! Good morning, Friends! I hope you all had a wonderful Mother's Day weekend! It was pretty rainy and cold all day around here. We were supposed to have a soccer game but it was cancelled due to weather. The boys won their game on Saturday so that secured their second place finish in their division! Woohoo! Because of the icky weather, we just did some errands and then hung around the house. I know Nick was bored but I thought it quite nice. And I didn't have to do anything! Today I have a sewing class on how to make a cute bag. Bags... do we ever have enough? Lol!
