Retiring Trendy Trees

Good morning, Friends! I hope your week is off to a great start! I can tell it's getting to the end of the school year as I am slacking off on a few things around here. I am in the "lazy days of summer" mode already. Not good! Especially since I need Nick to finish strong!! I need to get back to my exercising and organizing! I am in the "throw things away" mode which is good. Maybe I will start there...

Today's card was inspired by a sketch I got somewhere. Usually I am pretty good about remembering and then finding them again but I cannot find this one anywhere! I do know it was an older sketch but that's all I can remember. Anyway, I thought I would use up some retiring products and that's what I will be trying to do these last few weeks of May. I started with a card base of Pear Pizzazz and added a piece of designer paper from the Pocketful of Posies pack and then a strip of Early Espresso that has an end flagged. I punched a circle of Whisper White with the 2 1/2" circle punch and stamped the greeting from Trendy Trees in Early Espresso. This is popped up onto the card. I stamped the tree in Early Espresso and Pear Pizzazz onto a piece of Whisper White and cut it out and popped it up onto the card. Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

CFC 52 - For the Birds

Good morning everyone! Wow! Hard to believe that we are starting another week! Only two more weeks of school around here! I hope you all had a wonderful Mother's Day! I did! We ended up going out for a very nice lunch and then did some furniture shopping. We needed some good lamps for our living room and found two that work beautifully! My husband was great about helping me get a little of the kitchen and living room cleaned up, too! And the weather was perfect! Now here we are back to it!

Today's card was inspired by the challenge at CAS-ual Fridays. This week they wanted to see clean and simple projects with birds. Now I am really not a bird person so I don't have many images with birds but I did have this set, Everything Eleanor that had this bird image and I did manage to come up with something that I really like! My card base is Whisper White to which I adhered a strip of Island Indigo that has the ends flagged. Then I stamped the label from Everything Eleanor in Pool Party onto Whisper White and cut it out. I stamped the greeting from Trendy Trees in Island Indigo on the label and the label is popped up onto the card. Then I stamped the bird from Everything Eleanor in Island Indigo onto Whisper White and cut that out. This is popped up onto the label. The last thing was to punch a flower from Daffodil Delight with the itty bitty shapes punch pack and add a pearl. Pretty clean and simple! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

TESC 151

Good morning, Friends! I hope you all had a fabulous weekend and are ready for another great week! Seems like the weekend went way too fast for me! Time to get my priorities in line and start chipping away at each chore. Now Nick has woke up and is trying to tell us that he isn't feeling well. Hmmm... I know he's tired but is he really coming down with something? I really hope not.

Today's card was inspired by a sketch from Taylored Expressions. This is an older sketch of hers but I liked it and thought I should give it a try. I pulled out a set that I haven't used in a while, Trendy Trees, and the card came together pretty easily. I ran the front of my card base through the Big Shot with the Stripes embossing folder. Then I took a piece of designer paper from the Just Add Cake designer paper pack and adhered it to a piece of Wild Wasabi. This panel is popped up onto the card. Then I ran a piece of Early Espresso card stock through the Big Shot with the Perfect Pennants die to cut the scallop circle. I punched a 2 1/2" circle of Whisper White and stamped the sentiment from Trendy Trees in Early Espresso. I adhered this to the scallop circle and added two brads. I popped this up onto the card. I cut a thin strip of Early Espresso card stock and adhered it to the circle. Then I stamped the tree on a scrap of Whisper White (the trunk in Early Espresso and the tree top in Wild Wasabi) and cut it out. The tree is popped up onto the circle. And there you have it! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Trendy Fall Trees

Good morning, Friends! We made it to Denver yesterday! The drive over here was amazing! The trees are really changing and the colors are so beautiful! Nick has a soccer game this morning and then we will drive to another part of Denver, to a different hotel for the game tomorrow. Then it's back home! I sure hope the boys play well!

I bought a new stamping magazine the other day and it is filled with sketches and samples. I love it! This card came about from one of those sketches. I haven't used this set in quite some time so I thought I would pull it out for this. And, I think it is perfect because this weekend is Color Weekend! It truly is a simple card! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!
