Stamp Review Crew Blog Hop: Kinda Eclectic

Hello everyone! I am so excited to be back with The Stamp Review Crew blog hop! This time we are featuring great projects showcasing the Kinda Eclectic stamp set! You may have come from the blog of the talented Tanya Boser or you may have landed here on your own. Either way, you can click your way through the entire tour and see all the creations! If you get lost, just click on the icon at the top to see a list of the entire blog list.

Like I said, we are featuring the Kinda Eclectic stamp set! It was love at first sight when I saw this set! And here is what I did with it:

I used the sketch at Reverse Confetti to help me create this card.

  • Card base is Sahara Sand
  • Stamp the dots image from Kinda Eclectic onto the card base using Sahara Sand
  • Stamp the sun image using Crushed Curry and the leaves/stem image using Mossy Meadow onto a piece of Whisper White then stamp the splotches from Gorgeous Grunge using Sahara Sand and sponge the edges of the panel using Sahara Sand ink
  • Stamp the greeting from And Many More onto the stamped panel using Blackberry Bliss ink
  • Adhere stamped panel to a piece of Mossy Meadow card stock and then adhere the panel to the card base with dimensionals
  • Stamp both butterfly images onto a piece of Whisper White using Blackberry Bliss ink and punch out with the Elegant Butterfly and Bitty Butterfly punches and adhere together
  • Made a bow from linen thread and adhere to card then adhere butterflies over the linen thread
  • Add a Crushed Curry candy dot to butterflies
Time to move on to see what the talented Ann Schach has created! Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the tour!

Control Freaks Blog Tour: Simple and Elegant

Hello everyone! Welcome to the Control Freaks blog tour! I am stop #5 after Heidi Boos! If you are out of order then don't worry as you will make a complete circle and be able to visit everyone's blog by clicking the "next" button at the bottom! Please note: if you are visiting before the 20th, all the blogs may not be working. To take the tour with no glitches, be sure to come back on the 20th!

I haven't participated in one of these in a long time! I was so glad to get back into it!! This month's theme was simple and elegant. I can do simple easy enough but I sure did get hung up on the elegant part. And after making my cards, I kept second guessing myself. But time was running out and this is what made the cut!

First up is a very simple card! In fact I used the sketch at CAS(E) This Sketch! The colors came from the My Create Ink - SU Color Lab. I knew I wanted to use Crushed Curry and Pear Pizzazz. I just didn't know what other colors would go with those. So I plugged those two colors in and a whole array of beautiful combinations came up! This set is one of my favorites!

  • Card base is Whisper White
  • Stamp the images from Kinda Eclectic onto the card base using Crushed Curry, Pear Pizzazz, Baked Brown Sugar (stamped off once) and Night of Navy inks
  • Stamp the butterfly images onto Rich Razzleberry using Rich Razzleberry ink and punch out using the Elegant Butterfly and Bitty Butterfly punches
  • Adhere butterflies to card
  • Punch a butterfly from vellum card stock using the Bitty Butterfly punch and adhere to bigger butterfly
  • Adhere pearls to butterflies
Pretty simple and very mailable!

For my second card I tried to go more elegant. I think it still fits into the simple category, too. And what could be more elegant than gold! I haven't used this washi tape in quite some time so it was fun to get it out again!

  • Card base is Very Vanilla
  • Stamp the flower image from Choose Happiness onto the card base with gold Encore ink
  • Cover a piece of Very Vanilla card stock with the Watercolor Wonder washi tape and adhere to card with dimensionals
  • Stamp the greeting onto a strip of Very Vanilla using Rich Razzleberry ink and flag the end
  • Adhere a strip of gold foil paper to the back and then adhere to card
  • Stamp the bird image onto a piece of Very Vanilla using Lost Lagoon ink and cut out then adhere to card with dimensionals
  • Punch a flower from Pink Pirouette card stock using the itty bitty accents punch pack and adhere to bird
  • Adhere gold sequins to card (one to flower center)
Thanks for stopping by! I hope you enjoyed my projects! Be sure to click the image below to get to your next stop on the blog tour! It's Melissa Davies! Enjoy!!

Butterfly Kindness

Hello everyone! I hope you all survived the full moon AND Friday the 13th! Whew! Sometimes the full moon affects my sleeping but last night I was able to sleep fully! Ahhh!! I really needed that! We had been watching the Rockies on TV and then we switched to our local news but the hockey game was still on. So we watched that. What a game!! It's always heartbreaking for the losing team because you know that they were fighting just as hard. Anyway, we finally went to bed before the news came on. And it looks like my Rockies ended up winning! Woohoo! That would have been a good game to watch as they were behind when we turned it off. Today we will be watching more World Cup soccer! So fun! And Nick's coach had the boys fill out a bracket so that makes it even more fun! I can't believe that is where we will be next week!

Today's card is the last of my cards that I did for stamp club this month. I do think this is my favorite stamp set! I just love it! I used an older sketch from Retro Sketches to help with the layout and then used the colors from the Moonlight designer paper.

  • Card base is Lost Lagoon
  • Round the bottom corners of a piece of Moonlight designer paper and adhere to a piece of Lost Lagoon card stock
  • Adhere a strip of Basic Grey
  • Round the bottom corners of a piece of Hello Honey
  • Stamp the sunburst from Kinda Eclectic in Hello Honey onto the Hello Honey card stock
  • Use the Basic Grey and Lost Lagoon markers to ink up the sentiment and stamp over the sunburst
  • Adhere stamped panel to the other panel
  • Tie a piece of Lost Lagoon stitched satin ribbon around panel and adhere to card base with dimensionals
  • Stamp butterfly image onto Whisper White card stock using Lost Lagoon ink and punch out with the Elegant Butterfly punch and adhere to card
  • Punch a butterfly from vellum using the bitty butterfly punch and adhere to other butterfly
  • Add rhinestones
There you have it! Don't forget that the Create with Connie and Mary Summer Collection Preview Week starts tomorrow! Be sure to check each day to see all kinds of fun goodies! I do hope you take advantage of their Early Bird pricing! I hope to see you there! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

AYSI 040 & cQc 244

Good morning, Friends! Wow! I actually tried to post this a half hour ago! UGH! I really get so frustrated when my internet won't cooperate! So I hope the rest of my day goes better! I do have a workshop this evening and it is always a fun time to see them! We will be missing Becky as she is still in California recovering. Get well soon, Becky!! I can't believe that there is only a week and a half left before we leave for our trip! Wow! So much to do and so little time!! I had better really focus this week!

Today's card was inspired by two challenges! The colors came from the colourQ challenge and the sketch is from As You See It (a new one for me). I got time to play with some new stamps and I think this set, Kinda Eclectic, is one of my favorites!! Here are the details:

  • Card base is Whisper White
  • On the card base, use post-it notes to mask the top half of the card base
  • Stamp the sunburst image from Kinda Eclectic using Tangelo Twist ink then remove the post-its
  • Stamp the dotted image using Marina Mist ink
  • On another piece of Whisper White, stamp the leaf image in Old Olive and cut out then adhere to card base with dimensionals
  • Stamp the greeting from Something to Say in Night of Navy onto a strip of Whisper White and flag the end then adhere to leaf
  • Stamp the butterfly onto a piece of Whisper White using Night of Navy ink and punch out with the bitty butterfly punch
  • Adhere butterfly to card and add a rhinestone
Very fun and eclectic!! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!
