CCMC Saturday Blog Hop: Lotus Blossom

Hello everyone! Welcome to the Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop! After 5 years of designing for the Create with Connie and Mary Thursday challenges, they have decided to make some changes. And they are awesome changes! A few of us designers are now going to be doing a Saturday blog hop. So instead of seeing us on Thursdays, you will be seeing us on Saturdays! We are really excited about this change and I know you will love it, too! So here we go!

For this week's blog hop, we are using the beautiful Sale-A-Bration stamp set, Lotus Blossom! Be prepared to be totally inspired! I am your stop after the super talented Debbie Henderson! She always has such fabulous and creative ideas! I used the sketch at Freshly Made to help me with this card. Take a look!

  •  Card base is Whisper White
  • Adhere a piece of Sheer Perfection designer vellum to the bottom part of the card base
  • Use the fringe scissors to fringe cut a strip of Mossy Meadow card stock then adhere to the card
  • Use the Large Scallop edgelit to cut a piece of Whisper White
  • Stamp two stems from the Lotus Blossom stamp set using Mossy Meadow ink onto the scalloped panel (the solid image was stamped off once and the detail image was stamped at full strength)
  • Stamp the right hand flower image using So Saffron and Hello Honey inks onto the scalloped panel (#3 was stamped off once using So Saffron, #2 was stamped at full strength using So Saffron and #1 was stamped using full strength Hello Honey) and stamp a second blossom onto a piece of Whisper White card stock and cut out
  • Stamp the sentiment onto the panel using Hello Honey ink
  • Stamp the speckle image from Gorgeous Grunge onto the panel using Basic Grey ink and stamp off once
  • Tie a piece of Hello Honey thick baker's twine from the In Color accessory pack around the panel and adhere to card base with dimensionals
  • Adhere the fussy cut flower to the card with dimensionals
There you have it! Enjoy the rest of the tour! It's time to send you on to the blog of the super talented Connie Babbert! I'm so glad you stopped by! Have a super day!

CCMC 344

Hello everyone! Welcome to another great Thursday challenge from the Create with Connie and Mary team! This week we have a beautiful color challenge! Take a look!

Blackberry Bliss, Rose Red and Blushing Bride are the colors we are to work with this week. And here is how I used them...

This is a super simple card but I do love how these colors look together with the Lotus Blossom!

  • Card base is Blushing Bride
  • Stamp the second layer of the flower image onto the card base using Blushing Bride ink
  • Flag the bottom of a piece of Whisper White card stock
  • Stamp the solid image of the flower from the Lotus Blossom set using Blushing Bride ink onto the banner
  • Stamp the second layer of the flower using Rose Red ink
  • Stamp the detail image using Blackberry Bliss ink
  • Stamp the stem and the sentiment using Blackberry Bliss ink
  • Tie a piece of Blackberry Bliss stitched satin ribbon around the banner and tie a knot then adhere to the card with dimensionals
Be sure to visit the Create with Connie and Mary site to see what the other designers did with this challenge. I hope that you will play along with us this week! We always love to see what you do with the challenges! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Sale-A-Brate the Lotus Blossom

Good morning everyone! I am so glad it's Friday! I'll be even happier when school's out - lol! I will be stitching tonight with some fabulous gals and I am looking forward to that! The weather doesn't look to great this weekend but I just got some new stamping goodies to play with so I will be happy to do that!! But first I will concentrate on the day ahead.

Today's card was inspired by one that Patty Bennett had done. I was looking for something to use my washi tape on and I thought this was really pretty. I had to change a few things to make mine work but I like the way it turned out!

  • Card base is Whisper White
  • Cut a strip of the Irresistibly Yours designer paper and sponge Wild Wasabi over it then adhere it to a piece of Whisper White card stock
  • Adhere a strip of the Stacked with Love washi tape beside that and then tie a piece of the Wild Wasabi Painted Blooms cotton twine around the panel
  • Stamp the solid layer of the Lotus Blossom onto the panel using Blushing Bride ink, the second layer using Rose Red ink and the third layer using Blackberry Bliss ink then stamp the stem using Wild Wasabi ink and then stamp the sentiment using Blackberry Bliss ink
  • Adhere the panel to the card base using dimensionals
There you have it! Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!
