Flurry Crumb

Hello everyone! How did Monday come around so soon? Ugh! I was really enjoying my weekend - lol! Two weeks and then we get winter break! I guess I had better be getting more serious about my Christmas shopping and sewing! Yikes! Nick had fun snowboarding at Powderhorn this past weekend. But he did hurt his leg pretty good. We are thinking it is just a deep tissue bruise. We are keeping our eye on it but he is moving around better each day. He's excited to get back up the mountain and try it all again! They officially open this weekend. We will see...

Today's card uses one of my very favorite stamp sets! I love these snowflakes and they make it easy to come up with a quick card!

  • Card base is Crumb Cake
  • On another piece of Crumb Cake, stamp the largest snowflake from the Flurry of Wishes stamp set using Crumb Cake ink then stamp the next largest snowflake using Marina Mist ink
  • Stamp the speckles image from Gorgeous Grunge using Whisper White craft ink and sponge the edges with the same ink
  • Stamp the greeting using Momento ink
  • Adhere a strip of Wonderland vellum to the side of the panel (the vellum has gold snowflakes so I am using the back side of the vellum)
  • Tie a piece of linen thread around the panel and then adhere panel to card base
  • Sponge Whisper White ink onto a Snowflake wooden element and adhere to card with a dimensional
  • Add an iced rhinestone to snowflake center

Watermelon Wonder Flower

Good morning everyone! I am loving our "summer" weather right now! The temps are below 90 and it's even been a bit rainy! Looks like more of the same for today and possibly tomorrow! Great for riding bikes! I haven't ridden my bike but my son sure has! I've been indoors trying to catch up on stamping stuff and getting a lot of sewing done! I am loving summer!! School starts again is just a few short weeks so we need to get as much out of it as we can! Today I get to have a stitching afternoon with some friends and I am so excited about that!

Today's card was made for a recent swap I was in so I thought that I would show you all what I did!

  • Card base is Soft Sky
  • Emboss a slightly smaller piece of Soft Sky using the Brick Wall embossing folder and then adhere to card base with dimensionals
  • Stamp the greeting from Tin of Cards stamp set onto a piece of Whisper White using black StazOn ink then round the opposite corners using the Project Life corner rounder and adhere to card
  • Adhere a piece of Watermelon Wonder to card
  • Stamp the flower image from Remarkable You stamp set onto a piece of Whisper White using black StazOn ink then color in using an aqua painter and Watermelon Wonder and Cucumber Crush inks
  • Punch the flower out with the 2 1/2" circle punch
  • Stamp the speckle stamp from Gorgeous Grunge stamp set using Soft Sky ink then sponge the edges of the circle using the same ink
  • Adhere circle to card with dimensionals
  • Add rhinestones to card
Pretty simple card! And I think it would mail just fine! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Today's card was a fun one for me! I think this color combination may be one of my favorites! I also used a new stamp set!

  • Card base is Mint Macaron
  • On a piece of Whisper White stamp the solid dots from Stamp a Bag stamp set using Mint Macaron ink
  • Stamp the circle with lines image using Tangerine Tango and then again using Daffodil Delight

CCMC 361 & 362

Good morning, Friends! Are you getting ready for a big Fourth celebration? We are all leaving for a big Kansas celebration! Usually we go and have a big firework display at my parents' house. My son LOVES to shoot them off there because they allow the BIG fireworks! Here in Colorado it's a "no-no". But this year is a bit different because we are going to celebrate my parents' 50 anniversary! We are going to spend time as a family doing some fun things in the big city of Kansas City! I am really looking forward to seeing everyone and being together!! And since we will be seeing the Royals play tomorrow, I do hope they help us celebrate with a WIN!! Lol!! It will be a short trip but a very fun one!!

For today's card I decided to use the Create with Connie and Mary sketch challenge from last week and this week's color challenge! Another super simple card!

  • Card base is Crumb Cake
  • Stamp the splatter stamp from Gorgeous Grunge onto the card base using Crumb Cake ink
  • Cut a strip of Lost Lagoon to make a banner and run both pieces through the Big Shot using the Decorative Dots embossing folder then sponge the edges using Lost Lagoon ink and then adhere to card
  • Stamp the crab image from You're Sublime using black StazOn ink and color in using an aqua painter and Real Red ink then punch out using the 2 1/2" circle punch and adhere to card with dimensionals (I also added some Soft Sky around the image)
  • Thread a piece linen thread through a gold basic metal button and tie a bow then adhere to card
Be sure to check out what the rest of the design team did with these fabulous colors! Such great ideas and all so different! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Good morning, Friends! It's FRIDAY!!! And it's finally raining!!! We have needed the moisture so badly! Now I just wish that I could spend the morning drinking coffee cuddled under a blanket - lol! Yesterday I drove to school and worked with a group of 1st graders before I had to go out for my crosswalk duty. Well, I get myself ready and walk to the door and find out it is snowing! What the what?! I could not believe it! And it snowed for half the day! So I am happy for the rain. Guess I had better find my umbrella!

Yuck! It's not much warmer right now but at least the wind isn't blowing!

Today's card is another we did at stamp club this month. It was inspired by the sketch at Freshly Made.

  • Card base is Crumb Cake

SSSC 262: Happy Easter!

Happy Easter everyone! I hope you all have a wonderful and fantastic day! My parents will be leaving today and my family will be having a nice dinner with other family and friends! Busy day again but it will be fun! I will miss my parents and hope they have a safe trip back home. Whatever you are doing today, I hope it is filled with many special memories and blessings!

Today's card was inspired by a sketch at Sweet Sunday. And because the blendabilities are no longer available, I had to come up with another way to color these beautiful blossoms - markers and blender pens.

  • Card base is Whisper White
  • Stamp the image from Indescribable Gift onto the card base using Tuxedo black Momento ink
  • Color the image in using Pistachio Pudding, Baked Brown Sugar, Crisp Cantaloupe and Calypso Coral markers and a blender pen
  • Add some speckles using the image from the Gorgeous Grunge set
  • Cut a circle from Baked Brown Sugar by nesting two circles together from the Circles framelits and running through the Big Shot then adhere to card with dimensionals
  • Stamp the greeting onto a strip of Whisper white using Tuxedo black Momento ink and flag the end then adhere to the card with dimensionals
  • Thread a piece of linen thread through a gold basic metal button and tie a bow then adhere to card
The Create with Connie and Mary Cards "Create"tions Celebrations edition starts today! They are posting the winners to the blog candy on their site! Good luck! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

CCMC 349

Hello everyone! I hope your week is going super! I think that today I really need to get my laundry done - lol! It's hard wanting to do any kind of "work" when you have visitors but I won't have anything to wear when I go to work on Monday so I had better get it done! Today is a new challenge with the Create with Connie and Mary team! This week they have a fun sketch for us to work with! Check it out!

It took me awhile to figure out what to do here and when I decided on the Painted Petals set, it took me awhile to figure out how to use these little pieces! Yikes! So I kind of improvised and did my own thing and this is how it came out!

  • Card base is Whisper White cut at 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" and folded in half
  • Cut another piece of Whisper White at 4 1/2" x 3 1/4" and round the bottom right hand corner using the Project Life corner rounder
  • Using the flower images from the Painted Petals set, I stamped them onto the panel a few times using Wisteria Wonder ink then I filled in the spaces with a leaf image and a stem image and Garden Green ink
  • Stamp the sentiment onto the panel using Tuxedo black Momento ink
  • Stamp the speckles from Gorgeous Grunge using Soft Sky ink then adhere panel to card base using dimensionals
  • Punch a flower from Wisteria Wonder using the itty bitty accents punch pack and adhere to card then add a rhinestone to flower center

Good morning everyone! I am so glad it's Wednesday! That means we are halfway through the week and today is my shorter day! Woohoo! I am getting my much needed manicure and then I am coming home to put my feet up! Boy am I tired!! At least the weather has been very nice! Nothing like out east! And because it's been so nice, I can feel myself catching that spring fever!

Today's card was a fun one! I am really loving the Crazy About You stamp set! I got the bundle so there are even more possibilities with this set!

  • Card base is Whisper White
  • Round the top right hand corner of the card base
  • I cut a piece of the Irresistibly Yours designer paper the same size as the front of my card and rounded the corner
  • Use a sponge and Smoky Slate ink to sponge this special designer paper to create your own designer paper (pretty cool!)
  • Stamp the splotches from Gorgeous Grunge onto the sponged paper (the embossed lines resist the sponging and the stamping)
  • Adhere paper to the card base
  • Cut a strip of Whisper White and use the Finishing Touches edgelits to cut the bottom of the strip
  • Stamp the leaf image from Crazy About You onto the strip using Old Olive ink and stamp the leaf image again onto another piece of Whisper White using Old Olive ink and cut out
  • Stamp the flower image onto a piece of Whisper White using Blackberry Bliss and punch out with the Flower Medallion punch
  • Adhere the cut leaf/stem to the back of the flower and then adhere to card with dimensionals
  • Stamp the sentiment onto the strip using Smoky Slate ink and then adhere tag to card

Should be a quiet week, though. Not a lot happening. I can't believe that we are ending the first month already! Spring is coming and that always makes me smile!

Today's card was inspired by one that I had saved a while ago. I thought this would make a great boy/teen birthday card!

  • Cut a piece of Birthday Bash designer paper using the On Film frailest

  • Cut the balloon from Tangelo Twist using the Balloons framelits
  • Stamp the splotch image onto the balloon using Tangelo Twist ink and sponge the edges then adhere to card using dimensionals

Control Freaks Blog Tour: All About Love

Hello everyone! Welcome to a Control Freaks Blog Tour! This month we are talking about LOVE! I am stop number 4 on the tour right after LeeAnn Greff! I know you were inspired by her projects! Since Valentine's Day is coming up, I decided to use our theme for that!

Both my projects use the Snuggles & Smooches stamp set! This set is just so much fun!
  • Card base is Whisper White
  • On another piece of Whisper White, stamp the big squiggle image from Snuggles & Smooches stamp set using Crisp Cantaloupe ink twice
  • Stamp the speckle image from Gorgeous Grunge onto the panel using Calypso Coral ink
  • Adhere two piece of Stacked with Love washi tape to the panel
  • Tie a piece of Calypso Coral ribbon from the Best Year Ever accessory pack around the panel
  • Stamp the sentiment onto the panel using Tuxedo black Momento ink and adhere to card base
  • Stamp the heart image onto a piece of Crisp Cantaloupe using Calypso Coral ink twice and cut out
  • Adhere the hearts to the card using dimensionals
  • Add a rhinestone to each heart
  • Card base is Whisper White
  • Run a piece of Crisp Cantaloupe through the Big Shot using the Happy Heart embossing folder
  • Use the small heart image from Snuggles & Smooches stamp set and stamp inside the embossed hearts using Calypso Coral ink then adhere panel to card base
  • Stamp the sentiment onto a piece of Whisper White card stock using Tuxedo black Momento ink and color in using the Calypso Coral blendabilities
  • Adhere stamped panel to a piece of Basic Black
  • Adhere a piece of folded Calypso Coral ribbon from the Best Year Ever accessory pack to the back of the panel and adhere panel to card with dimensionals
  • Punch two hearts from Crisp Cantaloupe and Calypso Coral card stock and adhere to card with dimensionals
  • Add two rhinestones to hearts
I hope that you have felt the "love"!! I had fun making these projects and I hope you enjoyed them, too! You will find tons more inspiration as you move through the tour! It's time to send you on to the fabulous Melissa Davies! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Friendly Medallion

Hello everyone! I am so glad the weekend is here! Woohoo! It looks like my guys are on their way home so my quiet weekend will be cut a little short but it will be good to see my guys, too. I plan to use my time to be creative (I hope).

Today's card was inspired by one that is in the new Occasions mini catalog. I wanted something quick and easy and this fit the bill!

  • Card base is Soft Sky
  • Take a piece of Whisper White card stock and use the Spiral Border punch to punch the top of the panel
  • Stamp the sentiment from Simply Wonderful onto the panel using Blackberry Bliss ink and stamp the splatter stamp from Gorgeous Grunge using Soft Sky ink then adhere the panel to the card with dimensionals
  • Stamp the flower image from Petal Potpourri onto a piece of Whisper White using Blackberry Bliss and punch out using the Flower Medallion punch
  • Cut the leaves from Wild Wasabi card stock using the Flower Fair framelits and adhere to the back of the stamped flower then adhere flower to card with dimensionals
  • Thread a piece of Soft Sky Painted Blooms Cotton Twine through a gold basic metal button and tie a bow then adhere to flower center
