CCMC 249

Good morning everyone! I'm here with another great Thursday challenge from the Create with Connie and Mary team! This week we have a sketch challenge!

Such a fun sketch with lots of fun layers! Here's what I did!

Time is counting down and the new catalog will debut more wonderful stamps and accessories! Every year Stampin' Up! comes out with a new stamp set that is made to raise money for the Ronald McDonald House Charities. This past year the stamp set has been the Moving Forward stamp set. I have loved this set even though I feel like I haven't used as much as I could have. Such cute images and images that can be used for a lot of different occasions! I look forward to this coming year's set! Anyway, back to the card... I ran a piece of Real Red card stock through the Big Shot using the Chevron embossing folder and then adhered it to a piece of Whisper White. On top of this I adhered a piece of Marina Mist and Daffodil Delight Polka Dot Parade designer paper. Around this I tied a piece of Real Red 1/8" taffeta ribbon and then adhered this to a Whisper White card base. Then I cut an oval from Whisper White using the Ovals framelits dies and used the Essentials paper piercing pack to pierce around the inside the edge of the oval. I inked up just the greeting from the stamp in black StazOn and stamped it on the oval. The oval is popped up onto the card. Then I stamped the blimp on Whisper White in Marina Mist and cut it out and popped it up onto the oval. I added a rhinestone to the propeller to finish it off.

Be sure to visit the Create with Connie and Mary website to get more inspiration and to see all the different ideas that the designers came up with using this fun sketch! Thanks so much for stopping by and have a super day!

CCMC 216

Good morning, Friends! I am so excited to bring you this week's Thursday challenge from the great ladies at Create with Connie and Mary! This week's challenge is a color challenge! Here are the colors we are to work with this week...

Rich Razzleberry, Night of Navy and Lucky Limeade! Fun colors!! And so many possibilities! I found a card in our recent Stampin' Success magazine (a magazine for demonstrators) that I really liked and I decided to recreate it with the challenge colors!

I took a piece of Lucky Limeade designer paper and flagged one end. Then I took a strip of Whisper White and stamped the bird and the "trail" from Moving Forward in Night of Navy. This is adhered to the designer paper. Then I took a piece of Rich Razzleberry and stamped the greeting from Sweet Essentials in Night of Navy and adhered this to the Whisper White piece. I must mention that my secret Create word is Create's. Then this panel is popped up onto a card base of Night of Navy. I added a Night of Navy flower that was punched with the Boho Blossoms punch and a Rich Razzleberry flower that was punched with the itty bitty shapes punch pack. In the flower center is a rhinestone! Super easy card!!

Be sure to check out the Create with Connie and Mary website to see what the other designers did with these colors. While you are there make sure you subscribe to their Create Holiday Edition! The early bird pricing is going on right now and you can save on your subscription! They also have lots of preview projects with FREE downloads over there! You will not be sorry! So much talent!! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!!

Dear Friend

Good morning everyone! I hope your week has gotten off to a great start! I was able to accomplish what I needed to yesterday. I am hoping today that I can get a little bit of stamping done and then work like mad on my Christmas quilt. I really want to get these thirteen blocks made because each block has four sections that have 24 pieces!! And I have these pieces all over my table so I really want to get these put together before I lose something - lol! Then I can focus on finishing up my other projects. Maybe another load of laundry will be in order, too. I don't think I have to go anywhere which will help, too.

Today's card is one of four that my stamp club ladies made. I got the idea from the latest Stampin' Success magazine that demonstrators get. I love how simple it is! Adhere a piece of Lucky Limeade designer paper to a piece of Lucky Limeade card stock and then to a card base of Whisper White. Add a strip of Rich Razzleberry. Then stamp the bike from Moving Forward in Pacific Point. Use a post-it note to mask the basket and stamp the flowers in Rich Razzleberry. Then add two brads to the wheels. Use the scallop edge border punch to punch the end. Tie a piece of Rich Razzleberry stitched grosgrain ribbon around the panel and pop up onto the card. Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

FMS 47

Good morning, Friends! I guess I really needed some extra sleep this morning! And that whole long list of things I needed to get done yesterday? Well... I only got to start on one thing! Actually, I did get two loads of laundry done and while that was going, I was able to stamp a few cards. But Nick was at a friend's house and we ended up going to get him and tote the two around before coming home and only have about an hour before we had to leave again. We did have a nice dinner with some friends that we haven't seen in a while and then came home again and watched some Olympics before going to bed. I was exhausted!! Today I am going to the quilt store to spend the afternoon stitching!! Yea! I am hoping to get a lot done on my table rug so I can get that finished up!

Today's card was inspired by the sketch at Freshly Made. These images are from the Moving Forward stamp set. This set is this year's Ronald McDonald House Charity set. For every set sold, $3 go to the charity. And it has the cutest images!! The greeting comes from the set Sweet Essentials. So I mounted a piece of Marina Mist designer paper from the Polka Dot Parade set onto a card base of Whisper White. Then I added a strip of Midnight Muse and Gumball Green. I punched a piece of Whisper White with the 2 3/8" scallop punch and stamped the images from Moving Forward in Gumball Green. This is popped up onto the card. I stamped the greeting from Sweet Essentials in Gumball Green onto a strip of Whisper White and flagged one end. This is adhered to the scallop circle. Finally, I added a Marina Mist button with some white baker's twine. Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Moving Forward at Midnight

Good morning everyone! I hope you are all having a super weekend! We arrived in South Jordan/Draper, Utah yesterday and the boys played two baseball games. They won both soundly (17-1 and 16-3)!! Woohoo!! Way to go!! We play two more today and then if we are the number one seed in our pool, we will play another game later tonight. Here's hoping they play as solidly as they did yesterday!! So fun to watch!

Today's card is one that I did for a recent swap I participated in. I just love this bike image in this set, Moving Forward. I got the color combination from the Color Coach. I wasn't too sure about putting these colors together but I think they look great! I punched two strips of More Mustard with the dotted ribbon scallop punch and adhered them to the back of a Whisper White panel and popped it up onto a card base of Midnight Muse. Then I flagged an end of a strip of Rich Razzleberry designer paper from the Polka Dot Parade dsp pack and adhered it to the Whisper White panel. I stamped the image from Moving Forward in Midnight Muse twice. One was punched out with the 2 1/2" circle punch and the other was used to cut the basket out. I stamped the flowers in Rich Razzleberry and then adhered the cut out basket over that. I added a flower that was punched with the itty bitty shapes punch pack from More Mustard. I added a mini brad and then adhered this to a scallop circle of Midnight Muse that was cut with the Perfect Pennants die. This is popped up onto the card. Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Basically Moving Forward

Good morning, Friends! I hope your weekend is going great! My friends and I had a great time yesterday at the quilt show! It wasn't huge but there were some awesome quilts displayed! Wow!!! There are some very talented people out there! The person we went up there to see had an awesome booth, too! She was debuting her new patterns there! I didn't buy any right now as I have quite a few projects I can be working on, but I am looking forward to getting some of her patterns! They are really nice!!! Lunch and a few shops later we came home and called it a day! Very fun!!

Today's card was one that I did for a recent swap I participated in. The color scheme came straight from the Color Coach. I ran a piece of Whisper White through the Big Shot with the Chevron embossing folder and adhered it to a card base of Whisper White. Then I added a piece of Basic Grey. I tied a piece of Basic Grey stitched grosgrain ribbon around a piece of Summer Starfruit and adhered that to the card. The scallop circle is cut from Primrose Petals using the Perfect Pennants die. I punched a 2 1/2" circle from Whisper White and stamped the bike image from Moving Forward in Basic Grey. The flowers are stamped in Primrose Petals and then I stamped the basket part again and cut it out to adhere it over the first stamped one. I punched a flower from Summer Starfruit with the itty bitty shapes punch pack and adhered it to the bike tire with a mini brad. This circle is adhered to the scallop circle and then popped up onto the card. Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

CCMC 209

Good morning everyone! I hope you all had a great 4th!! It's time again for this week's challenge at Create with Connie and Mary! This week we are being challenged with a sketch. Take a look!

What a fun sketch! So versatile and simple! I know that I will use this one again! Since I had the stamp set, Moving Forward, already out on my desk, I decided to use it here. So this is what I came up with.

I used my Color Coach to come up with these colors. The front of my card base is Marina Mist and I ran it through the Big Shot with the Chevron embossing folder. Then I added a piece of Summer Starfruit. On top of this I added two strips of designer paper from the Polka Dot Parade designer paper pack. Both of the ends of the strips had the ends flagged before adhering. Then I took a piece of Whisper White and stamped the image from Moving Forward in Marina Mist. I added a strip of Real Red card stock and then three silver brads before popping up this panel onto the card.

Be sure to visit the Create with Connie and Mary website for more inspiration! Then create your own project using this sketch. Remember that we are a SUO (Stampin' Up! Only) challenge. I can't wait to see what you come up with! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Retro 17

Good morning, Friends! I hope your weekend is off to a fabulous start! I will ask you all to keep Colorado in your thoughts and prayers as we seem to be experiencing one of the worst fire seasons ever. Most of the fires were on the Eastern side of the state and now we have one on our side and just a few miles away! The smoke from it filled our house yesterday making it very hard to breathe. While the valley is still smokey today, I don't smell it as much. We need rain!!!

Today's card was inspired by the sketch at Retro Sketches. I had this set sitting out and decided to use it for this sketch. This is the Ronald McDonald set called Moving forward. It is such a cute set!! A portion of all sales will go toward the Ronald McDonald charities. So a cute set AND a great cause!! Anyway, I started out with a card base of Real Red and then added a layer of Whisper White. Then I added a strip of the Polka Dot Parade designer paper rounding one corner with my 1" circle punch. For my focal point, I took a piece of Whisper White and stamped the bike in Real Red and added the flowers which are colored with Daffodil Delight and Gumball Green (hard to see it). I also added a flower that was punched with the itty bitty shapes punch pack from Daffodil Delight and a mini brad. I rounded opposite corners with the 1" circle punch. Then I punched a strip of Real Red with the dotted ribbon scallop punch and adhered it to the back before popping up the panel onto the card. Pretty simple!! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Thinking of You!

Good morning, Friends! I hope your week is off to a super start! It's going to feel a lot like summer around here this week. I do wish we would get some rain, though. Last night I had my stamp club. We have added a few new ladies and they are SO much fun!! I am looking forward to our next meeting already! Thanks, ladies!!! Not much else going on today. Nick went to work with his dad so I will be here most of the day by myself. I can handle that - lol!!

Today's card is one that I did for my stamp club last night. It's a very simple card and a little different than what I normally might do but I do like the way it came together! I stamped the sailboat from Moving Forward with Tempting Turquoise, Pumpkin Pie and Gumball Green markers onto Whisper White and cut it out. This is popped up onto a Whisper White circle that was cut with the circles #2 die and then adhered to a scallop circle that was cut from Pumpkin Pie using the Perfect Pennants die. The whole circle panel is adhered to a piece of Gumball Green. Then I stamped the greeting from Sweet Essentials in Gumball Green just below this. I added two silver brads and popped this panel up onto a card base of Gumball Green. I added a small rhinestone to the top of the sailboat. And there you have it!! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!
