Glimmered Greetings

Hello everyone! Well it snowed about 8 inches yesterday and into the night! It's so pretty!! And it's even better that we were able to get here before it got really bad! We will have to dig out the car in a while as Nick wants to go to the local rec center here and try out his new basketball. Otherwise it's kick back, snack and watch some football! Go Broncos!!

Today's card was inspired by one I had seen on Pinterest. A pretty simple card! Here are the details:

  • Card base is Crumb Cake
  • Layer of Cherry Cobbler that was run through the Big Shot with the Stylish Lines embossing folder then adhered to the card
  • Flag the end of a strip of silver glimmer paper and adhere to card
  • Stamp the tree image from Evergreen three times in Old Olive without re-inking onto Whisper White
  • Stamp greeting from More Merry Messages in black StazOn
  • Add two mini brads and then adhere panel to card with dimensionals
Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

Good Friday morning everyone! Sketch Frenzy Friday has a new sketch for this week! This week's sketch was created by Tammy Fite. Take a look!

And my card...

I took some liberties with the sketch. I think that I must be the only one that doesn't have the new snowflakes set! And I don't have many Christmas/winter sets so I really had to think about this sketch. I could have done butterflies or flowers but since we just got 8" of snow here the other day I just couldn't pull those sets out right now. Soooo… I got a little creative… I hope you don't mind, Tammy! :) Here are the details:

  • Card base is Basic Black
  • Layer of Basic Black that was run through the Big Shot with the Stylish Stripes embossing folder then adhered to card with dimensionals
  • The oval is cut from Smoky Slate with the Ovals collection framelits
  • Stamp the tree from Evergreen in Smoky Slate (stamped off once) onto the oval
  • Stamp sentiment in black StazOn
  • Sponge edges of oval with Whisper White craft ink then adhere to card with dimensionals
  • Punch two hearts with the small heart punch from silver glimmer paper and adhere to card with glue dots
Be sure to visit the Sketch Frenzy Friday blog to see more incredible inspiration! I hope you will find time to play along with us! We sure do love to see what you do with our sketches! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

CCMC 280

Good morning, Friends! The holiday season is in full swing! I did manage to finish one of my sewing projects and the other two are well on their way to getting there as well. But I need to finish up a few projects that I started earlier this summer and our get-together is next week! Yikes! Thankfully they were started and just need the finishing touches put on. But I am trying to get back into the stamping routine, too! I missed it! So I hope to have more cards to show you all! Thanks for sticking with me! You are the best!!

Today is the Thursday challenge at Create with Connie and Mary! And they have a fantastic and festive color challenge! Take a look!

And my card!

This card is really very simple and very elegant! Love how regal the gold embossing looks on the Night of Navy! Here are the details:

  • Card base is Night of Navy
  • Stamp tree from Evergreen using VersaMark ink and emboss with gold emboss powder
  • Cut a panel of Night of Navy card stock and use the Ovals Collection framelits to cut an oval in the panel
  • Stamp greeting from More Merry Messages using VersaMark and emboss with gold emboss powder
  • Sponge the inside edge of the oval with Whisper White craft ink
  • Tie a piece of Whisper White taffeta ribbon around panel
  • Adhere panel to card base using dimensionals
These two stamp sets are carry over sets and I am SO glad because I really like them!! I hope you are inspired by my card but be sure to check out the rest of the cards from the fabulous design team at the Create with Connie and Mary website! I hope you will play along this week! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Since this is the last week, the challenge is for the designers only. So the designers are sharing their last creation with you all using this beautiful color challenge! Check it out!

Coastal Cabana, Pool Party, and Smoky Slate. So very pretty! Here is what I created!

I used a couple of carry-over stamp sets to create my card: Evergreen and Greetings of the Season. Here are the card details:

  • Card base is Smoky Slate
  • Layer of Coastal Cabana that was embossed with the Northern Flurry embossing folder
  • A piece of Smoky Slate 3/4" chevron ribbon is tied around the layer
  • Cut a circle of Whisper White using the 3 1/2" circle die
  • Stamp the tree from Evergreen in Pool Party three times - once full strength and twice having stamped off
  • Stamp greeting from Greetings of the Season in Smoky Slate
  • Adhere circle to Coastal Cabana layer using dimensionals and trim off end
  • Adhere layer to card with dimensionals
  • Add two rhinestones
I hope you like my creation! It's been a blast being a part of the Winter Collection! Find the other designers' creations by visiting the Create with Connie and Mary website! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Silent Tree

Good morning everyone! I hope your week is off to a great start! It seems as if we could get a "real" winter storm around our parts tonight! Woohoo!! We need the moisture SO bad and snow would be great for our ski resorts, too! And it would be great if it came tonight and tomorrow so that it would be done when we are ready to travel on Thursday! I sure do hope we have some white stuff on the ground when we wake up tomorrow! I did get some stamping done yesterday. Although, it did take me quite a while to get the mojo back in gear. Geesh! So I am hoping to finish that all up today and then move on to some sewing.

Today's card was one that I did yesterday while trying to push my mojo out of the box. Again, it is one of "those" cards where I couldn't figure out what else to do with it. So I layered a bit and called it done. I had seen where the words were just stamped without the other images and I thought that it looked really nice. So that is what I thought I would try here. I stamped the words from Evergreen in Gumball Green onto Very Vanilla and then adhered it to a piece of Gumball Green card stock. Then I took a small piece of designer paper from the Festival of Prints pack to make a tree stand. To the top I added a silver brad. This panel is popped up onto a piece of Very Vanilla that was run through the Big Shot using the Fancy Fan embossing folder and then adhered to a piece of Cherry Cobbler. Then I popped up the entire front of the card onto a card base of Very Vanilla. Very simply stated. Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Card "Create"tions Favor Week 1

Good morning everyone! I hope your weekend is off to a great start! Have you been enjoying the Card "Create"tions Edition over at Create with Connie and Mary? If you haven't signed up, it's not too late! You can sign up now and still enjoy all the creations! We are just finishing up week 1! On Saturday we show you all a small favor using the set that we used for our projects. I used the Evergreen set so my favor features that set, too. But the only way you will get to see my cards and download the project sheets is to be a subscriber to the Create with Connie and Mary Cards "Create"tions Edition

My favor is very simple! I had ordered the Ghoulish Googly designer kit and it came with these really cool vellum sacks. I filled it up with Wintergreen mints. Then I took some Cherry Cobbler card stock and ran it through the Big Shot with the Two Tags die. I used the tag with the scallop top. I folded this over the bag and stapled it into place. Then I stamped the solid part of the tree in Lucky Limeade (stamping off once) and then the detail part on top. I cut it out and popped it up onto the tag. Then I stamped the greeting from Teeny Tiny Wishes in Cherry Cobbler onto a strip of Whisper White. Both ends were flagged and the strip is adhered to the tree. Very simple!

You can see what the other designers used for their stamp set this week and the favors they created at Create with Connie and Mary! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

CCMC 224

Good morning! Welcome to another Thursday challenge from the Create with Connie and Mary team! This week we are being challenged with color. Take a look at these fun colors!

Island Indigo, Lucky Limeade and Daffodil Delight. So very pretty together! I decided to go with a Christmas card and this is what emerged!

I used the Evergreen stamp set for this card. I punched a strip of Daffodil Delight with the dotted ribbon scallop punch and adhered it to the back of a piece of designer paper from the Festival of Prints designer pack and then adhered that to a card base of Very Vanilla. On top of this I adhered a piece of Lucky Limeade. Then I stamped the tree base on Very Vanilla in Lucky Limeade (stamping off once) and then the words on top in Island Indigo. The star is stamped in Daffodil Delight. This is adhered to a piece of Island Indigo. I adhered a small piece of Daffodil Delight seam binding ribbon behind the panel and then an antique brad before popping it up onto the card.

Nacho 10

Good morning, Friends! Are you all ready for a great weekend? We have a soccer game later this morning and then the rest of the day is free!!! Whatever will we do? Well, there is a lot that needs to get done around here - lol! So it will be nice to be at home. I hope to get some more sewing done. But no special plans for us today. Here's hoping that the boys win their soccer game today!! Woohoo!!

Today's card was inspired by the color challenge at Nacho Average Challenge. The colors are Wild Wasabi, Early Espresso and Raspberry Ripple. I used Crumb Cake for my neutral and I have to say that I do love the way this one turned out! This stamp set, Evergreen, is one I had to have right away but hadn't gotten it out yet, so I decided to ink it up using these colors. This might be a contender for my Christmas cards this year! I stamped the solid part of the tree in Wild Wasabi - I stamped off lightly before stamping it onto the Crumb Cake panel. Then I stamped the words in Early Espresso. You may not be able to read the words but they are the words from Silent Night. Then I stamped the detail part of the tree in Wild Wasabi without stamping off. I did use my stamp-a-ma-jig to get everything straight. Then I sponged around the edges in Crumb Cake. This panel is adhered to a piece of Early Espresso and I added two strips of Wild Wasabi that had the ends flagged. I popped this up onto a piece of Raspberry Ripple that had gone through the Big Shot with the Fancy Fan embossing folder. And all of this is adhered to a card base of Crumb Cake. Finally I added a rhinestone to the top of the tree. Great colors together!! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!
